RAID~ He longed for the feeling of the wind on his face, the sound of his Harley roaring in his ears, the smell of the road. But now, all he felt was pain, all he heard was the guy down the hall screaming for help, all he smelled was blood, piss, and the death he was being denied. Paralyzed from the hips down after being hit by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan, he was stuck in his hospital bed remembering days gone by when he'd had something worth living for. His club. His brothers. Hadn't heard from those bastards for years now, and he wasn't going to call them just to see the pity on their faces when they realized he'd never ride again. The nurse who tormented him brought him a letter, and everything changed.
ATHENA~ She'd never thought he would write her back, she'd just sent a letter to a random soldier in the hospital, not knowing how else to give back, and after six months of being pen pals, she'd developed quite a crush on the guy. On Raid. But then after asking to come visit him in the hospital, he vehemently told her no, and hadn't responded to any more letters. It left her wondering if she'd been catfished, left her wondering if the break from reality his letters had given her, the connection she'd thought they had, was nothing but words on a page. One letter, and everything changed. Who'd have thought?
I just wanted to let the folks know that I don't very often find myself on the ol' Goodreads site. I have too many social media accounts to keep up with and a new website.

Overhearing a conversation between two military wives, ATHENA decides to write a letter to an injured soldier in the hospital. Not sure anything will come of it, she is more than a little surprised when she gets a response. After a few months the letters suddenly stop, and Athena is left wondering if she has been played...
Raid is Paralyzed from the hips down after being hit by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. He has all but given up and planning how to put an end to all his pain and suffering. That is until he receives a purple letter that smells like heaven itself. These gifts have Raid agreeing to an experimental surgery that has a 50/50 chance of getting him back on his feet. It will be the fight of his life...
"Did you see it?” He asked, swallowing loudly when her fingers scraped through his hair. “See what?” “Did you see what you gave back to me?” “What I gave?” “You brought me home, baby. You gave me my family back."
When Raid walks into Athena's shop six months later, she isn't sure if she wants to hug him or kick him in the balls. The sparks fly and love is in the air. When trouble from Athena's past comes knocking on their door, that HEA might not be as easy as they thought...
Wowza, so book one in this series was a fabulous read, but this one kicked it up a notch. I ADORED this one. As I mentioned in my review for book one, this author smokes the "KA BONG" So if you like old school KA, then you are going to enjoy the heck out of these books. The plot moved along at a nice pace. I was never bored or felt the need to skim. The secondary characters are very interesting (PLEASE write books with TOP and NASA as the heroes...PRETTY PLEASE.) and we get a cute little peek at the couple from book one.
Both characters were likable. Athena was sweet and feisty, not annoying. Raid was hot and sexy and sweet and vulnerable. It makes for a really great hero in my opinion. Unlike the first book were I felt both the heroine and hero sounded the same in the way they spoke. The heroine and hero in this one have their own distinct voice. It wasn't that they spoke vastly different from each other, more that they didn't sound the same like the couple from book one.
Overall I was REALLY impressed with this second book of the series. I was disappointed that we didn't get an epilogue (what is up with the lack of good epilogues lately?) and my comment about covers from my review of book one still stands. This one is even worse than the one for the previous book. All in all though...awesome read.
Book 2 in this series and it was even better than book 1.
Raid and Athena were perfection. When Raid was ready to give up, a letter from a stranger gave him hope. Athena's big heart and kindness set Raid back on track to regaining his life.
--sweet, kind, loving, devoted badass biker hero --strong yet vulnerable, big hearted, funny heroine --the only ow/om drama was from her ex and a woman who had a crush on the hero. He did absolutely nothing wrong --no pushing away --no cheating --smoldering hot sex scenes --a costume wearing pitbull
The only thing I did NOT like about the book was there was no epilogue. That was soooo disappointing for me. I had to knock the rating down because of it. I would have been a solid 5 star read if it had a better ending! I still give it a 4.5 star rating because I enjoyed everything else.
I absolutely love this one. Isabel Wroth has become one of my favorite authors. I love her writing and she has the most delicious and perfect heroes. Can't wait for Ripley and Saint's book.
Originally read September 2016
After overhearing some military wives talking about wounded soldiers, Athena decides to write a letter. Little did she or Raid know this would change their lives. I absolutely loved the letters in the beginning and how it started their relationship. Raid was a great hero and was taken with Athena before he ever laid eyes on her. Her letters and candles had him hooked from the start. His struggles in the beginning were real but he pushed through so he could make it to her. Even when someone tried to interfere, he was determined to go to her.
“Babe, you got me by the balls and you know it. You can’t see the mark you made. You burned it on my heart.”
Athena was a great heroine....who couldn't love someone who rescues a pit bull and shows how much love they can give. I loved how she was earthy and into herbs and flowers, making her scents, lotions and candles. But she was a total badass too and didn't take Raid's shit. I really appreciated that she didn't struggle with accepting Raid and she seamlessly took to his MC lifestyle. I'm sure the multiple orgasms had a little to do with it! This was definitely another great addition to Isabel Worth's Perdition series. I will say this again, I am so glad someone pointed me in the direction of this author. I absolutely love her writing and I can't wait to see whose story is next!
I am seriously loving this author. This is my second book by her and she gets exactly what type of MCs I love to a tee.
Raid our H was paralyzed from the hips down and wanted to put out of his misery. He wanted to end his suffering. He was alone in that hospital. No one visited him because he refused to contact his Perdition brothers. He had no more will to live in a wheelchair. He went home from deployment as a last surviving member of a platoon. One day, while listening to the agony of another wounded soldier. A nurse gave him a letter addressed to " A soldier I don't know". Unbeknowst to him, that was the letter that would forever change his whole life. The letter sender is Athena our heroine. She overheard a couple of wives talking in her store about a particular soldier in that hospital. And that was the start of their letter writing and prompted Raid to have the experimental procedure that may or may not gain his legs.
I really love the H and h on this one. The H is a protective alpha male. And the heroine is one tough cookie. Plus, reading about Ever and Roar and some other characters were a bonus.
This was a sweet and quick read. I absolutely adore pen pal romances, and this one definitely fits that trope, though I would have liked for them to have been communicating through letters for a little longer. The entire premise of the book resolves itself in the first 20% of the novel, and the rest of it is just like your typical light MC romance. There’s a hint of suspense and angst, but it’s definitely a good book for if you’re looking for a sweet escape.
This is a 5 stars because it's a sweet/badass love story by letters.
I don't even remember when the last time I wrote a letter let a lone a love letter lol.
Raid is paralyzed from the waist down and everyday, he is wishing it was his last. Then one day, this awesome purple letter with this unique seal came long and demanded his attention. He opened it without breaking the seal and you know.....it's history ;)
Athena decided to write a thank you letter to a wounded soldier. What she didn't know was that letter changed everything.
“Mother fuck…could you find a way to not be so brave? It would make me feel better.”
“I’ll get right on that. Still love me?”
She asked it with a teasing drawl, but he could see the seriousness in her eyes. How she could think he would stop loving her after everything she’d just been through? Crazy. That was the only explanation. She was certi-fuckin-fiable.
3.5 stars -Kindle Unlimited book, which is my fave way to explore new authors. -Better than the first book, the setup for Raid and Athena’s romance (paralyzed veteran hero receives letter from heroine and love grows from their correspondence) gave a very romantic angle to this biker tale. -Absolutely, the highlight is the love letters and the connection between Athena and Raid. They may have a tinge of insta-love to it, but it’s the letters that give their love a great foundation. -Even if there’s more action in this than the first, it’s a pretty low angst/drama between the hero and heroine. I really do wish there was less of a dependence on negative stereotypes of women who are not the heroines to produce the bit of angst there is that’s not tied to the main crazy ex. -Same issues with grammar and a love of commas as Never Ever did that drove me a little crazy. The writing needs polishing to reach that next level. 3.5 stars I enjoyed this even more than the first. As this author grows, and hires a good editor, I look forward to what else is in store for the Perdition MC.
OkAnother ginger haired h who was a badass!3.5* and spoilers ahead
Athena writes to Raid as he's in the hospital paralyzed, her letters give him the push he needed to want to live and so he agrees to experimental surgery with a 50/50 shot it may work *Side note-those back and forth letters were the shit! With all the letter writing Raid started falling for Athena and sent his brother's to check up on her. When her letters stop coming he's disappointed and at his release he heads to her . Athena took a chance and started writing to an injured vet, not knowing how much it'd change her life. At the time she was dating someone but he got physical with her and she broke it off. A lot started happening in her life and when she needed Raid most his letters stopped coming so she's pissed that he walks into her shop with a "hey babe"
We get the story of 2 people who connected via mail and didn't take long to make that connection real. A deceitful nurse and a psychotic ex boyfriend create some drama for the couple however This had some similarity to book 1 with a crazy bad ass heroine who was loud mouthed and didn't take shit. We see the couple from book 1 as well as the other guys in the mc. Some things were hella convenient and stretched believability a bit but another good read for me. Most of the grammatical and spelling errors are missing here and the editing is much better. These books won't change the world but they deliver mc romance fiction just how I like it!
No OW drama, H hadn't had sex in years h had a boyfriend but she broke up with him a little while after they started exchanging letters.he was a muderous psycho and did cause drama and attempted to sexually assault and did physically assault her No clubwhores needed a beat down in this one
All in all??? I liked it and hope all the guys in the mc get their stories told. A little mention of a Domme and NASA's dungeon so maybe some kinky stuff in the future. 🤷🤔
There are not many newer books out there anymore where the main couple meet through honest to goodness snail mail. It's becoming a time where that is going to be obsolete, so I thoroughly enjoyed that we got it in this book.
It's mentioned that their meeting was like the movie "You've Got Mail" and I would agree. It's probably why I loved the beginning so much since I am a big fan of that movie. Thankfully, once these two did meet, the transition of their relationship continued smoothly.
This is what I consider a safer MC story. While there was violence in the book, the hero is very faithful and we did not have any of the club women stirring up trouble.
What I really liked about the book was both main characters. The Raid is very much a man's man. He took very good care of Athena without treating her like a child. And Athena had spunk without sounding like a mean girl. They were a treat to read about. I'm looking forward to more in the series.
I am so sorry, Ms Wroth. I just did not like this book.
I've never been a fan of MC romance so that's probably why I didn't enjoy this very much. At least there were no "club whores" in this one. But the hero constantly called her a bitch and I just don't like that.
Both the hero and heroine made dumb mistakes in their relationship. And I think it was because they dove into a living together relationship too soon, but circumstances.
I don't like near-rape plots and, unfortunately, there was one in here. The ending also needed something. I know Wroth doesn't do epilogues so I wasn't expecting one, but we don't even get to see them engaged. After reading about a kidnapping I usually expect some happy scenes before wrapping up the book, ya know?
Anyway, the epistolary opening was nice. Their letters are sweet and funny, but not enough to base a relationship on, I think.
Still love this author, just not reading any more from this series.
DISCLAIMER TO THOSE READING MY REVIEW: This review is my personal opinion, it may contain swearing, quotes, rants, and spoilers!!! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK....
Even better then the first one!!!
Raid and Athena's story! I just discovered this author and I have to say I am freaking hooked!! This is book of the Perdition MC series and for me it was even better then book 1. I absolutely loved the chemistry and banter between the main characters. Again this was another MC love light book because it focused more on the couple then the MC. I can't wait to see what this author comes up with next!
Raid, the brother who the club had been told (falsely) had died in the service is dealing with paralysis. His doctor wants to try experimental surgery but he cant find the will or desire to live until he receives a letter addressed to any serviceperson from a sassy girl named Athena.
They share much about their lives and fall in love through the correspondence. Eventually, Raid has the surgery then he goes to find Athena after rehab.
What can I say about Raid, he is frigging perfect. No lie, the things he says and does are so romantic and talk about hot, they are smoking together. Athena is that rare heroine who is strong and independent but okay with having someone to love and lean on. She has a vulnerability about her too but it doesn't make her weak.
Side stories about someone messing with them which is quickly resolved and a couple of instances of not sharing pertinent information with each other but it's just the one time for each of them and not repeated throughout the story so that's good. There is a crazy ex (of hers) but I almost feel like he could have been left and the story wouldn't have suffered for it.
Kind of an abrupt ending compared to the first book and there are spelling/grammar errors. Sometimes it's hard to decipher who said what but minor quibbles really.
It seems like the set up is there for future books. I like this author, she writes characters I can love.
I really liked this one. The H was strong, protective and possessive. The h was strong, sweet and didn't take shit. I also loved the holistic personality of the h and give huge kudo's to the author. Not because I'm really majorly into holistic medicine or creating my own soaps/paper etc.. But because it gave her h a unique voice that stood out to me more than a lot of characters do. So many authors skimp on the females personality. One of the reasons I am now this authors new stalker is that she makes her heroines the type of personality I want to read. Not meek submissive and waiting in the wings for a strong man to complete her...
Don't get me wrong.. Submissive women can be strong but I very rarely see that in books.

Bumping to 4 stars after I re-read the book. I really liked the pen pal portion. It’s a correspondence story done perfectly.
Book started strong. I really loved the emotional intensity in the first half when they were exchanging letters and meeting for the first time. For some reason, I just lost interest towards the end when the h was kidnapped. All in all, still a good book to read.
Book is safe, no cheating. Hero is so hot and intense. Kidnapping is due to heroine’s stalker ex.
I really wanted to love this book but I just couldn't get into. I think that had to do with my reading mood more than anything else. I might try again one day as I liked the previous book in the series.
I am trying really hard to space these books out because I know there’s only 4 books in the series so far. But I am loving the way this author writes characters. And it’s just a crazy fun time!
Having liked the first book in the series despite its gosh awful editing, I dove right into Athena’s Raid. I’m glad I did because I think I liked this one more than the first one. Alas, it still has the absolutely atrocious editing. Heck, one time the hero’s name wasn’t misspelled, it was completely wrong! Fortunately, the story itself was better.
Raid was seriously wounded while fighting overseas. When he was shipped back paralyzed from the waist down he thought he’d been abandoned by his brothers. Broken in body and soul he was contemplating giving up when he was given a letter from a weird chick named Athena. She saved his life that day.
Athena was a hippy chick who’d had a tough life. Even though she was going through her own trials, an overheard conversation prompted her to write to a wounded soldier.
I loved the letters between Athena and Raid. Both were strong characters who’d lived through hardships and they found solace and strength in each other. The chemistry between them was genuine and smoking hot.
I’m growing as fond of the members of the MC as I am as the adorable dogs that come with the heroines. With a crazy stalker on the loose, this one had a little more grit than the first which I really liked.
There was a bit of drama caused by a lack of communication I could have done without. And the lack of editing is a problem all on its own. I still greatly enjoyed the story and look forward to seeing what is in store for the Perdition MC next.
3.5 I Just Can’t Bring Myself to Give It a 4 With The Lack Of Editing Stars
Nice motor cycle romance. This was not a 1 percenter motor cycle club but rather guys who were bounty hunters for the most part. Every thing happened pretty fast and without any major conflict between the hero and heroine. Most of the conflict was external. The hero was a sweetie though so I forgave that and just enjoyed it for what it was.
I am giving this 5 stars because I really enjoyed the story and the characters. It was so heartwarming….. ***** BUT ***** This book really needs some proofreading. There were inconsistencies such as “pouring bleach on clothes” and the the “room smelling like gasoline”, plus grammatical errors. I’m not a writer, nor am I an English teacher, but this story and series is really interesting and I would hate for this author to have poor reviews on things that can be fixed.
NO Cheating MC, thank goodness!!! Not as good as book one, but still enjoyable. Recommended. This is an enjoyable mc series where so far in books one through three that are out, there is no cheating and not heavy club girl drama either. It’s enjoyable.
an absolutely brilliant read. an emotional roller coaster. great writing, excellent story arc and really engaging characters. there is a bit of everything .. parts of the story are heart breaking, parts are violent, there is some beautiful romance and some absolutely terrific humor. lots of interaction with the characters from the books before and after. really looking forward to the next book in the series
Lots of typos and spelling errors in my copy. It wasn't a "meh" story, but it wasn't great either. I really enjoyed the initial set up with the letters back and forth, though.

3.7 Needed a bit more editing. Where the chapters ended didn't always make since, and some places needed the break between characters and scenes. I liked Raid but at times he was a little to alpha for my taste. Other KA or MC fans will love him though. I personally liked his soft side, the one that treasured envelop seals. I liked Athena, she was kickass. She also had a really cool job. I liked the other characters too! I really like this author because she goes into detail about why they love and appreciate the other person. That's the type of love everyone wishes for. This surprised me and had a suspense stalker/kidnapping story-line that worked.
