Kisses in the Sand #3

The Best Friend Bargain

Rate this book

Olivia Lincoln has a plan guaranteed to get her life back on track. A plan that involves her best friend, Danny. And he’s on board, too…until she blurts out that they’re engaged and expecting a baby, and the news spreads like wildfire.

The problem? Danny doesn’t do marriage. Or family. And everyone knows it, including Olivia.

As irritated as he might be, protecting Olivia is what Danny does. But put best friends under one roof, add house rules begging to be broken, accidental nakedness, and pancakes in bed, and what started as a marriage between friends threatens to turn into the real deal…which would ruin everything.

Each book in the Kissed in the Sand series is a standalone, full-length story that can be enjoyed out of order.

4 Friends make the best lovers Stars

 photo tumblr_l4p72727M11qa0b99o1_250_zpsporgzapx.gif

The Best Friend Bargain was a cute best friends to lovers read. Would you do anything to help and protect a friend? Would you married her and claim her baby as your own? Danny was a great hero. He was funny, sexy and very caring. He wasn't perfect he had his moments and his self doubt but those flaws made his character come to life. He felt real. I could relate to him. Liv was sweet, but maybe a little careless in a naive sort of way. She asked a lot of her best friend and didn't think much past her fear of what her mom would think. She was impulsive and tended to do before thinking. She was also playful, caring and very likable. Her and Danny had good chemistry and there was some major sexual tension going on. I loved that their love had a build up to it. Some times with the friends to lovers trope authors tend to rely heavily on the friendship and jump to insta-love. So I really liked getting to watch their relationship develop. I liked the all side characters. I also enjoyed the plot and flow of the book. Overall a cute quick read!

She was under his skin. Had been for weeks if he were honest. He didn’t want these feelings of devotion and attachment, like she belonged to him and no other man would get to touch her ever again. Falling for his best friend, heart and soul, hadn’t been part of their deal.

I like trying out new authors now and then. Sometimes it actually pays off when I do. I have come across some whose writing styles I seem to connect with. Robin Bielman ended up being one of those authors. I honestly hadn’t heard of her before but when I read the synopsis of The Best Friend Bargain, I knew that I had to give this one a try. I absolutely LOVE the friends-to-lovers trope and this story ended up being pretty fabulous. I was worried that the schmexy would be luke-warm or that the author would come off skittish while writing the steamy scenes, but let me just say, my panties were thoroughly melted!!! And even though the cover made me think this would be a light and low on the angst read, I am happy to report that my angst needs were very much satisfied as well.

Olivia Lincoln finds herself back home after having lived in England for the past six months. She decided to leave the states after she lost her job which really ended up messing with her head. Liv left without saying a proper goodbye to her best friend, Danny. But now she finds herself in a bit of a pickle and the only one she can turn to is Danny. Liv is pregnant and her boyfriend back in London made it pretty clear to her that he never thought of their relationship as long term and also doesn’t want to be a father to their unborn child. Heartbroken and disillusioned, Liv turns to the one man who has always been her rock. She asks Danny if he would marry her and pretend to be the father in order to avoid her mother’s castigation. At first, he’s a little apprehensive but in all the years that they have been friends, he has never been able to deny Liv anything. On the plus side, his impending marriage and fatherhood help him to buy the house that he’s been renting from the owner, who was only looking to sell to a young family.

 photo 0e697cc70c6afd4e4e2158fdda80bcc1_zpsd1lug6lw.jpg

Liv and Danny settle into their new relationship rather easily. A little too easy. It seems they may have always felt something more than friendship for each other but were too scared and maybe just a little too dense to see that true love had been right in front of their eyes for so many years. Liv thought that Danny preferred the life of the player, but deep down Danny had always wanted her but his fears made him keep those feelings at bay. I have to say that Danny rated high on the swoon-worthy scale for me.

Well once the attraction between them becomes impossible to ignore, the steam kicks up a thousand degrees. I was more than pleased with how incredibly schmexy the scenes became and then, BAM, a curveball is thrown and we find ourselves in the midst of some major angst!! You could just call me a smitten kitten with this story after that!!

This was book three in the Kisses In The Sand series, but can be read as a standalone. Each book centers around a different couple and all were in this one as secondary characters. I will definitely be making some time in the near future to read the other books in this series.

The Best Friend Bargain is currently available. If you love a good friends-to-lovers story, this is one you surely won’t want to miss!!

3.5 More Than Friends Stars

“You know where I stand on marriage, so if I’m going to break my rule for someone, it’s going to be for my best friend.”

Olivia's in a bit of a jam. After six months in London spent in what she thought was a serious relationship, she finds out the hard way her feelings weren't reciprocated. What's a freshly knocked up and recently dumped woman to do? How about returning home and talking her bff into marrying her? Seems logical.

Danny always figured marriage and children weren't a part of his future. Knowing he's slowly going blind made the decision to stay single easy. But when his best friend asks for a favor so she can avoid disappointing her overbearing and judgemental mother, how can he refuse?

“Make it terrible,” she whispered.
He smiled. “I’ll do my best.”
“To make it awful,” she reiterated.
“Prepare yourself for the worst kiss ever.”

Surprising no one, these two start to feel a major case of the lusts pretty much the second Liv moves in with Danny and the charade begins. It doesn't help that the entire beach town soon knows the two are an item. Soon the pretending turns into hot knocking boots action and the besties can't keep their hands off each other.

The Best Friend Bargain is a cute, light read and I enjoyed it, for the most part. I had a hard time buying the sudden sexual tension that seemed to develop overnight after years of best friend times, but I got over that. I admit it took me a good portion of the book to get into the story, but once I did I had a terrific time on Danny and Liv's journey.

While this book didn't overwhelm me with happy feels, I enjoyed my time spent reading The Best Friend Bargain. Enough so that I'm planning on checking out the other books in the series. Robin Bielman definitely knows her way around a light hearted romance.

5 - "We’re in this together." Stars!

I have started the Kisses in the Sand series at the wrong end, by reading book three The Best Friend Bargain first, but it was an absolute joy from start to finish, and can absolutely be read as a standalone.

This isn’t the first book I have read by Robin Bielman, but it is certainly the best book I have read by her (to date), so much so that I need to go back and read the previous two books in this series immediately!

"See something you like..?"

Everything just clicked into place with Olivia and Danny’s story, and the author took one of my favorite tropes, in Best-Friends-to-Lovers added a few special twists to the tale to make it unique to them and ran with it, and with such great consequences. The highs made me smile and the lows made me tear up, but the balance was perfect.

One wrong more could ruin his friendship with the one person he couldn’t live without…

Both characters are dealing with some pretty big life-changes, but the one thing they are adamant about keeping, in tact is their friendship. Liv’s turning up in White Strand Cove, initially shakes Danny’s foundations to the core, especially as some of the first words out of her mouth pronounce to his gossip loving neighbor that they are getting married. Marriage isn’t something Danny has figured to be in his future, but after spending a short time together under the same roof with Liv, he realizes that he may have been a little hasty in his decision making, and looking in the wrong places for the answers.

"I’ve got you, you know that right? I’ve always got you."

I love it when a strong man has a soft and vulnerable side, you get to see a lot of that from Danny through the telling of this story, and although he initially makes the wrong decisions, his heart is most definitely in the right place. The email communications between them made me smile, the banter between the guys made me chuckle and the author gave this couple an absolutely stellar ending and epilogue.

I really hope that this isn’t the last book from the series now that I have discovered the people and town of White Strand Cove, there was a certain single and attractive Doctor in this one that piqued my interest, and I hope that Robin has plans for telling his story in the future.

We all have authors who are our perfect fit. Those whose writing style, characterisations and stories work every single time. Robin Bielman is one of a handful of authors who I know I can trust to bring me every element I could possibly need, and want, from a romantic read and she nailed it with The Best Friend Bargain.

description

For someone who firmly believes that you can go through life without falling in love with your best friend, I absolutely love this trope; if Danny Ellis was my best friend, I'd be falling head-over-heels in love with him too because he was the complete package. And when Olivia Lincoln turns up on his doorstep, back from England and needing his support, he's there, despite the fact that he agrees to something he's always said he never wants.

description

He and Olivia were wonderful; they have a natural, easy chemistry, the trust they have in one another is simply beautiful and with the prospect of both needing support in the future, they each have their fears. And that made them so relatable; there was something very special about them and their relationship as friends and lovers, and you're completely pulled into their story.

description

Robin always makes me feel with her writing, but she took it to another level with the deeper content within this story which she handled with perfect sensitivity. And the emotion it generated was little unexpected; laughing and sighing happily is pretty much the norm, as are those moments that tug on the old heart-strings, but sitting and crying my eyes out is a new one. And generally a rare thing from me.

description

If you haven't guessed by now, I absolutely loved The Best Friend Bargain. Danny and Olivia were given the story they deserved, it was lovely to catch up with the couples featured in the previous books in the series and with the perfect balance of fun, flirt, sexy-time and emotion, it left me with a happy heart. If you're looking for a romance that has it all, including the customary Bielman toe-curling first kiss (because believe me, no one writes a first kiss like Robin does), then grab this: you'll not be disappointed.

Copy generously provided by the author for an honest and unbiased opinion. As always, it was my absolute pleasure.

-Best friends to lovers will always be my fave. I guess it comes down to that paradigm shift. I adore when you get to see characters in a new light and even better, when characters get to see each other in a new light. That “oh poop I want to have the sex with you! scene is so much fun that I can’t resist it. Add in a marriage in name only setup, and just send it on over to my kindle, please.

-A bit of serious with this sweet. Now, when I started the book, I don’t recall there being mention of the heroine actually being pregnant (I really thought it was a fake pregnancy, like the marriage), and I had no idea that the hero has a rare genetic disease called choroideremia, which can slowly cause blindness in the person afflicted. So Liv carrying another man’s child and Danny slowly going blind, especially the way he works with his hands? Well, it does give an added layer of angst I wasn’t expecting, but it helped to give some dimension to a story that could have been too light. Having said that, I wasn’t exactly thrilled at Liv having another man’s baby and it probably put me off a bit, although the romance worked out in the end.

-Still fairly lighthearted. While some of the humor is corntastic (puns are cute if not my fave), the texts between Liv and Danny was adorable and a way to connect the characters. The humor was a good way to lighten up their personal angst at the thought of their relationship and the repercussions of crossing the line of friendship into Romancelandia.

-Standalone but part of series. While I didn’t absolutely need to read the earlier two books in the series to follow the story here, I do think if I’d read them I would have a bit more emotional connection to them, and I would have seen the history between Liv and Danny instead of told about it in past tense. For example, I am guessing that there was a key scene several months ago that must have played out in an earlier book that I didn’t see here and I would have loved to get that background. The story still works, but you definitely get that sense of “what did I miss?” when it comes to their friends and the little town they love.

I liked it. A sweet, sweet romance for those who love best friends to lovers. I only wished I’d read the earlier books to flesh out their backstory a bit.

Olivia Lincoln had gone overseas and met the man of her dreams, unfortunately for Olivia when she finds out that she's pregnant the dream comes to an end. Olivia comes up with a plan to sort out her situation by returning to the states and proposing to her best friend Danny. Danny had no plans for marriage and a family in his future so can Olivia convince Danny that her scheme will benefit them both?

The Best Friend Bargain was a cute story about a pair of friends who had always been there for one another that come up with a plan to benefit them both with a side of attraction. Both were likable characters and while their reasons for going on with the plan might not make a lot of sense to some it worked for them and they were able to grow the relationship into something a bit more.

During this story parts of it were Olivia and Danny chatting back and forth through messages where they would gather their courage to do the flirting and say the things they couldn't say to each other when together which really fits with today's online society. I couldn't help but root for a pregnant Olivia to find happiness with someone to love her child too.

Overall, a cute romance story not without the obstacles to find a happy ending.

Another fantastic read by Robin Bielman!! Her books are just so easy to read and FUN!

I've read this series from the start and have loved every book. Because they're written well and without too much fan-fare. lol There's good laughter and sexy times all mixed into a low angst high heart story!

Olivia and Danny were really meant to be. You could tell even from the start. They settled into their arrangement very smoothly :) and it was laughter and sexy times from then on out! The story delivered on sizzle and sass and emotion as always.

Robin has been a go-to author for me for a while and will continue to be so ....

Very sweet friends to lovers story. What I really liked about this book was the chemistry between Danny and Liv. They had a really great friendship and it was fun to read as it developed into more. I couldn't wait for something to happen between these two with all the sexual tension that was going on. This was fairly low angst, had a few good steamy scenes and a really sweet romance. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more by this author.

Robin Bielman is one of my auto-buy authors, and I’m a huge fan of her Kisses in the Sand series, but due to a personal bias, I wasn’t prepared to love The Best Friend Bargain even more than the first two books in this series.

But I did.

I adored this story. Danny and Liv are my new favorite couple. Why?

To answer, I have to start with why I figured I wouldn’t connect with this story as much as the others. It’s that pesky personal bias I mentioned. The Best Friend Bargain is, at heart, a friends-to-lovers story, and that’s just not my favorite trope. Typically one of the characters—let’s get really stereotypical and say the heroine—has been tamping down on years worth of unrequited love for the hero, but settling for best friend status, (and suffering the secret misery of watching her bestie…ahem…*date* a bevvy of women who are smarter, prettier, and better in bed than our poor ugly-duckling heroine believes she ever could be), on the belief that friendship is better than nothing. Call me hard-hearted but I find the whole set-up mildly pathetic.

But this trope, in Bielman’s hands, is NOT the tired old friends-but-one-was-always-wishing-for-more thing. She avoids the stereotypes, and delivers a real friends-to-lovers story that drew me in instead of forcing me to cut one character serious slack right at the outset. I respected Danny and Liv, and their motivations to take their relationship beyond the friend zone. I lived their doubts as they worried about the impact their decision would have on their relationship, because they honestly were best friends, not two people in a ridiculously unbalanced pseudo-friendship.

Beyond that, there’s everything you’ve come to expect from this author…and she never disappoints! Too many laugh out loud moments to count, loads of chemistry, real stakes, and deep emotions. It’s the best kind of roller coaster ride, and I could not get enough! I also loved the chance to check in with Bryce, Honor, Sophie and Zane.

The Best Friend Bargain was the perfect end to a perfect series!

Slick's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

I've really enjoyed Robin Bielman's Kisses In the Sand series but The Best Friend Bargain simply did not work for me on many levels. I never felt like I got to know the characters very well and while they claimed to be great friends for over 15 years it seemed like there was something missing in their friendship, and I hate it when adults can't or won't stand up to their parents.

Upfront I want to say that I felt like the heroine Olivia was a bit immature, a whole lot selfish and someone who ran from her problems rather than dealing with them. She was fired from her job, so she ran to London (no idea why because we are never told that) where she meets a man gets pregnant by him and when he want nothing to do with her or the baby she runs home to ask her best friend to marry her so her judgmental mother won't be mad at her and just a hint, she runs again when things get tough.

I think I would have really liked Danny had we gotten to know him better but as it was he was a bit one dimensional. He gave up a lucrative career as a sports agent to start a custom furniture building business that is getting a lot of attention from celebrity designers. Danny has a rare disease in which he will slowly loose his eyesight and eventually be blind and thus he has decided to never marry or have children. Then Olivia turns up pregnant and before he knows it; he's going to be her pretend husband and the father of her child.

I get that they were supposedly best friends that would do anything for one another and honestly Danny was very noble in jumping in to help Olivia but for me he did so too easily. This went against everything he had planned and I'm sorry but I just think there would have been a bid more discussion and conflict. Olivia in the meantime is still pining for the jerk that left her, sending mixed signals to Danny and worrying about what her Mother will think when she should be thinking about what she's doing to her best friend or I don't know how about owning up to your responsibilities and figuring out how to take care of yourself and your child without asking your best friend to change his entire life?

While I appreciate a good friends to lovers romance, The Best Friend Bargain was not one that worked for me. A selfish heroine, a pushover hero and not enough romance left me feeling uninspired.

This is a sweet friends to lovers romance with lots of twists and turns en route to their happy ever after. Though this is the third book in the series, it is a standalone and you really don’t need to read the earlier two to appreciate this one - though you may well be tempted to go back to read them as this is so good!

Olivia and Danny had been best friends throughout their childhood after Danny saved her from some mean kids. She’s hung around with Danny, Bryce and Zane, as one of the boys ever since, well until she disappeared after being humiliated and fired from her job. When Olivia found herself pregnant, with a boyfriend who’d done a disappearing act after finding out, she flew home to ask Danny to marry her and be the child’s father - but fate stepped in and she ended up announcing they were planning to marry and that she is pregnant to his landlady, Mrs Landry, without first discussing it with Danny . . . . and Mrs Landry just happens to tell everyone else! Poor Dan doesn’t stand a chance! He, however, had no intention of ever marrying because he has Choroideremia, a rare inherited disease that will result in him being blind and doesn’t believe anyone will want him then and he is wary of passing it on should he father any children. Will he agree to help her? Can they overcome their fears of spoiling their friendship to find romance together? Can he learn to face the future without sight but with hope?

Don’t expect an event free journey with this brilliant author, you just know there’ll be plenty of obstacles in the path of the potential couple. They already love and trust each other as best friends but attraction is developing dramatically. Should they resist temptation? What will happen if they don’t? As they start to reveal their feelings online to each other, will they dare to do so face to face? A great friends to lovers romance with well developed characters and a roller coaster ride plot packed with twists and turns to keep the reader enthralled.

1.5 stars?

The BFF to more trope is one of my favorites, so I was pretty excited just from the title.

I liked Olivia and Danny well enough. They seem to have a decent friendship, but there was definitely a spark missing. I didn't see any sort of chemistry between them. And there was mention of them being friends for 15+ years, but it was all tell and no show.

I was a bit disappointed to find out that the main motivation was that Olivia needs a husband because her mother won't approve of her pregnancy. The drama and push and pull that followed got really old really quick. I guess I just mostly felt lost in this story. There was never a backstory or explanation of the connection to pretty much any character introduced. Perhaps if I would have read the other books in the series.

From the reviews that are already up, I'm in the minority. Sadly I missed the amazing things that everyone else saw.

The Best Friend Bargain is a sweet and sexy book that sucks you in and gives you the major feels. A light and easy read, the book is loaded with hot anticipation and innuendo that begs for completion. While the theme is somewhat typical, the writer has taken it over the top with in depth emotion that you connect with and embrace.

With wonderful detail and hot as hell writing, you can just envision that steamy first kiss, that touching, trembling embrace, the scorching look as the eye travels up his and her bodies. YUM! And if that is not enough, the author have given us characters that you actually like and work perfectly together! Danny is a caring, generous soul that you just fall for – sigh.

For a sexy and delightful read that sucks you in, you have to check out this book. One of a series, but a complete stand alone, you will fall for the writing style of Robin Bielman!

This review is also posted at All About Romance: http://allaboutromance.com/book-revie...

The Best Friend Bargain is the third story in Robin Bielman’s Kisses in the Sand series. I read and enjoyed the first two books, in which Danny and Olivia (Liv) were introduced as secondary characters and best friends. While still published by Entangled Publishing, the series has gone through an imprint switch, and is now part of their current Lovestruck line, defined on their website as “flirty contemporary category romance about finding love in the modern world”. I’ve read several of the Lovestruck titles. Some have been great, others not so hot. I put this one squarely in the middle.

Danny and Liv have been friends since they were teenagers growing up in the small beach community of White Strands. While Danny was previously a sports agent, he’s decided to follow his crafty calling and is making a name for himself designing and constructing wooden furniture. Liv was previously fired from a corporate job (through no fault of her own) and ended up spending eight months in Europe licking her wounds and having a heated affair. When she ended up pregnant, the father disavowed responsibility and Liv has come home to have her baby – and she has a plan. As Danny has an inherited genetic disease that will result in his eventually going blind, he’s long since decided to limit the chance of passing on the disease by never having children. But Liv thinks she can persuade him to marry her and help her raise her child. They’ve cared about each other for years and knowing about his condition, Liv is prepared to be there for Danny for the long term. Surprisingly, they’ve never carried a torch for each other and were firmly stuck in the friend category – until now. Liv’s pregnancy hormones are in full gear and Danny is looking mighty attractive. And the feeling is mutual. But will becoming lovers ruin their longtime friendship or put them on the path to a happy ever after?

This story has all the hallmarks of a stereotypical small town romance. There are the local best friends who are there to prod the couple towards each other. There are the gossipy older ladies, one in particular (Danny’s landlady) who takes it into her head to get the wedding planned, leaving Danny and Liv to go along with the flow. There’s the town festival, in this case a Halloween carnival, with cute costumes and contests. In short, it’s fun but doesn’t really have anything to make it stand out from the other small town romances out there. It’s on the safe and predictable side as far as story settings go.

Obviously Danny is pretty clear hero material. Stepping up for his pregnant best friend, willing to marry her and raise her child and do anything to help her out – well, that’s very sweet and generous (and his two best friends, Zane and Bryce aren’t above calling him out on it and pointing out the fact that he could support Liv without marrying her). In truth Danny suddenly isn’t so keen on Liv being married to anyone else which is a surprising revelation, since it had never bothered him before. The idea of the father of the child suddenly showing up to claim his fatherly rights twists him up inside, and before you know it, he’s making it clear that he’s going to be a father to this child no matter what happens in his and Liv’s future. Danny’s genetic condition, choroideremia, is already starting to affect his peripheral vision and he sometimes practices moving around his home with his eyes shut, getting ready for the inevitable blindness. These scenes are poignant and make it clear that Danny is determined not to be a helpless burden in the future.

Liv is a sweet and generous woman. She’s best friend material, whether for men or women and she and Danny have always had each other’s backs, hence her faith that he’d help her out in this situation. While her pregnancy was unplanned, she is excited and understandably nervous about raising a child, but fully prepared to do her best. Her own relationship with her mother is tenuous at best and she wants to do better than that with her own child. She has some conflicted feelings where the baby’s father is concerned. At first she’s still carrying a torch for him but the more time she spends with Danny, the less she thinks of the other guy. Of course, as expected, the baby’s father isn’t quite out of the picture and part of the conflict throughout the story is waiting to see what impact he’ll have on Danny and Liv’s relationship.

The change from friends to lovers doesn’t take place over night. While most modern romances these days seem to include social media and texting scenes as part of making the romance authentic, they don’t work particularly well here. They are a bit bland, and the attempt at sexting seems to come very quickly and out of the blue in the middle of an innocuous conversation. Their conversations in person are a lot more believable. Their physical attraction goes with the territory of being two attractive people spending more time together and envisioning a shared future. Their love scenes are again, a little on the predictable side, but enjoyable and well written.

If you’re a fan of the Kisses in the Sand series and you’ve been waiting for Danny and Olivia to get their happy ending, then you’ll be pleased with how things work out for them. If you like small town romances and their general predictability, you’ll enjoy this, too. With friends to lovers and marriage of convenience tropes, The Best Friend Bargain delivers a solid, easy read.

Oliva aka Liv and Danny have always been the best of friends, even growing up despite Olivia hanging around Danny and his friends - it was always Danny she was closest too. The two were inseparable, that was until she stuffed up her career and decided the only way was to jump across the ditch to the UK and start fresh. She left without a goodbye and was gone for six months and loved living in London, she even met a great guy called Will and all was going perfectly until the bombshell dropped that she was pregnant with Will's child. Of course he gave her an ultimatum which lead to her jumping ship and heading back home and straight into Danny's life. Olivia grew up without a father and her mother blamed her for him leaving and she doesn't want to repeat the same mistake and make her child feel that way ever , so she has an idea - to ask Danny to marry her and become the father of her child, so that it doesn't grow up fatherless. The idea is perfect Olivia thinks as Danny has always made it clear due to his illness , he doesn't want to get married or have children of his own as he would never burden someone with the future of having his illness impacting their lives. Can Olivia and Danny make this work as best friends or will other repressed feelings start to appear as of course we know how horny men and pregnant women can be ? I also have to admit I loved Olivia's craving of honey and the honeyed bacon sounded delish. One of the things that I loved about The Best Friend Bargain was the fact that the author didn't rush into the whole "I love you" scenes and had the story building up to this point as reality is when in this situation that you have been friends with someone for so long - you often don't want to ruin the friendship by trying a relationship as the backlash can be worst. Another personal favourite of The Best Friend Bargain was Olivia's background as a handwriting analyst as I have always been fascinated with this pyschology and craft.

If you are wanting a Best Friends to Lover story that seems more realistic than others , then check out Robin Bielman's 3rd book in the Kisses in the Sand series "The Best Friend Bargain".

Have you ever started a book and you just keep turn the pages and when you finish you want to hug the book and you have a smile on your face? Well, this story made me want to do just that and feel like that.
Olivia has always been best friends with Danny. When she faces an unexpected pregnacy with a man that doesn't want a baby, she asks her best friend to help her. The problem is Danny doesn't want marriage or kids not because he is not a good guy but because he faces some problems and he is scared for his future. But... he cannot resist being there for his best friend.

Olivia is a woman scared, but determined to make a life for her and her baby. I loved her determination and that she was solid throughout the book. As for Danny, what can I say about him? He is so sweet, caring, a true best friend but also a good man. You just understand his fears and how much he truly wants to be a family with Liv but he does always what he thinks it is best for her. I loved so much the funny emails between them and how much the baby united them. There were some tender scenes concerning the pregnancy that makes you love them as a couple.

We also get to see more about the characters from her previous books and I cannot not comment how sweet Zane was with his little girl. So cute...

Robin has poored her heart in this book and you can see her personality as an author and as a person through the sweet words and the funny comments of her characters.I loved also her sensitivy and the respect she showed to Danny's problem. I think this series gets better and better and cannot wait to see more characters of this world to have their love stories.

This is a fun lighthearted story that's perfect for a lazy afternoon read. Olivia Lincoln finds herself in a bit of a situation. After finding out she's pregnant and telling the father, she discovers he's not exactly the great guy she thought he was. He wants nothing to do with the child or her if she decides to keep it. So she's back home and looking to her best friend Danny for help. Not wanting to face the disapproval of her mother she wants Danny to marry her. Since he's never planning on falling in love and getting married this shouldn't be too big of a favor to ask. Right???

The book is very well written and we get some glimpses of the couples from the prior books in the series which is always fun. Danny and Olivia are an interesting pair and while I loved Danny, Olivia at times drove me a bit crazy. Overall though, an enjoyable read and a book I would definitely recommend.

I got the ARC of this lovely story from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review and I had sooooo much fun reading this book ;) did I had some small issues with it? sure, but it definitely did not diminish my overall pleasure ;) in fact, I gave it a full 5 stars rating exactly because I enjoyed it as much ;) and don’t be discouraged by the fact, that it’s the third book in a series, because it was my first book ever written by this lovely author (but definitely not the last) and I can assure you that it works perfectly well as a standalone ;)

So now let me tell you a bit more about our main characters ;) Olivia and Danny have been best friends for years… without any hidden feelings on either side I have to add ;) just friends, no funny business… ;) they were very close until Olivia left for London unexpectedly for a few months after some problems… I would be more specific, because it is explained very early in the book, but I have a feeling it actually may be a part of previous story (or stories) so if you plan to read them in order, I don’t want to spoil you anything ;) now she’s back… with an additional little surprise… ;) I’m not sure how big of a spoiler this particular information is, but just in case it's very important, I will be vague and not tell you anything specific ;) she appears out of nowhere, after those few months, in the little town where Danny lives, looking for his help… ;) and his very quick response and agreement on her quite a bit crazy plan is not as surprising as I was afraid it would be, because his situation is also very specific… again, I’m not sure if it was mentioned in the previous stories or not, so I’m just gonna leave out this little detail yet again out of this review so as not to spoil you guys ;) all it takes for them is a moment of flirtation, when he doesn't know that it's her, because of all the cake on her face... ;) yeah, you read it right ;) and I'm not telling anything else about that hilarious little situation ;) and that one spark slowly grows... :) they always had this amazing banter between them, but now, besides all the humor, it's laced with a little something extra... ;) and their interactions are soooo fun to read about :)

Besides the main couple, there are a few people I need to mention to you :) like I said before, this story can be read as a standalone, but you will be curious about the previous two books after this one :) because both Zane and Sophie, as well as Bryce and Honor, two couples from two previous books make appearances in this story... and those scenes only made me want to read their installments soon :) so I will definitely be going back to read all about them at some point in the future :) they are all friends, which make me believe, that Danny and Olivia apeared in those previous books as well, and I am regretting a little bit not reading about them before... it's not necssary, because you get all the informations and explanations in this book about the important stuff, but I would love to know them even more... :) and it's always fun to observe all the interactions between different characters when you know them better ;)

All in all I had a lot of fun with this book... was the motivation behind Olivia's plan understandable to me? not exactly... ;) but it didn't bother me either :) the writing style was so entertaining that the chapters simply flew by... :) the banter between our main couple, as well as all the different connections and bonds between Olivia, Danny and other characters were great as well... :) I especially loved the e-mails our main couple exchanged quite a few times... ;) this is a new author for me, but based on all the fun I had reading this story and how much I enjoyed her writing style, I will definitely check out her other work... and would advice you to do the same ;) I really liked this book, so if you are a fan of friends-to-lovers stories, if you enjoy entertaining writing style and hilarious characters, then definitely give this book, and this whole series a try ;) it will be worth your time :)

XOXO

I received a free copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Olivia Lincoln has returned from London pregnant, her English boyfriend Will wanted a 'fun' relationship and babies didn't feature in his plans, she also lost her job as a graphologist (handwriting analyst) after a new hire turned out to be a fraudster (because of course EVERYONE relies solely on the handwriting analyst when hiring staff). Her mother has always regretted giving birth to Olivia out of wedlock, and has become ultra-conservative as a result, and Olivia can not bear to break the fragile relationship they have by disappointing her again. So she comes up with a plan to ask her best friend Danny to marry her. Danny has a degenerative eye condition that is slowly blinding him and, as a result, has vowed never to marry or father children and inflict his coming disabilities on a wife or perhaps give his child the same condition.

Although this is the third in the series I found it easy to read as a stand-alone novel.

Before Olivia has a chance to ask Danny matters are escalated when Danny's landlady informs him she is moving to Miami but wants to sell the house to a family. Before she knows it Olivia has informed them both that she and Danny are having a baby and getting married.

Although Danny and Olivia agree that they will enter into a friends-only marriage, soon each of them realise they are having inappropriate feelings for each other.

I really enjoyed this book as Olivia and Danny remain friends whilst falling in love. Olivia's pregnancy craving for honey on literally everything was also pretty funny.

I had two niggles:

1. Sometimes it felt as if the book was a series of snapshots of Danny and Olivia with no interconnection. There would be an event eg Thanksgiving dinner and then the next chapter would begin days or weeks later. Danny and Olivia would argue, then the next chapter would begin days or weeks later. And so on.

2. The ending was too OTT and unrealistic - it was a bit Pretty Woman significant gesture which was out of kilter with the low-key of the preceding book.

Overall, this was my first book by Robin Bielman and I enjoyed it. I will certainly look out for more books by this author.

Bumped for release day.

Olivia is pregnant , but the father doesn't want to have anything to do with the baby. She returns home and has a plan. She's going to ask her best friend Danny to marry her. The opportunity to suggest an engagement arises almost immediately after she arrives at his home and Danny doesn't mind going along with Olivia's plans. Only they're best friends and not lovers. Danny doesn't want to commit to one person. He has his reasons, but they're difficult to remember whenever he's spending time with Olivia. She doesn't want to lose his friendship, so tries to keep her distance. The attraction is growing though, but giving in might destroy what they have together. What should they do, take the risk to lose everything they hold so dear, with the idea they might gain something even more precious instead, or play it safe and go back to the way they used to be?

The Best Friend Bargain is a wonderful romantic story. I enjoyed reading about Olivia and Danny from the start. There are plenty of sparks between them and they have a very special bond. Olivia is a beautiful woman inside and out. She's strong, resilient and kind. I immediately loved reading about her. Danny is a gentleman who does everything for his best friend. He's generous, giving and adorable. I loved him from the start as well. The warm friendship they have is radiating off the pages and it immediately felt exactly right.

There's something that makes Danny stay away from love and reading about it was heartbreaking. I loved Robin Bielman's sensitive way of writing about the most serious aspect of this story. She's perfectly captured the way many people in similar situations will feel and she describes it with a lot of compassion. I liked both the emotional and the romantic aspects of this book, they combine really well.

Robin Bielman's writing has an easy flow and I read The Best Friend Bargain in one sitting. I had a smile on my face when I was reading a happy scene and was sad when something didn't go right for the main characters. I loved this sweet romantic book and will definitely read more books by Robin Bielman.

As I set down to write this review, I know there are no words to fully convey how good The Best Friend Bargain is. Robin Bielman is one of my favorite authors because she has this ability to write characters who worm their way into your heart. Olivia and Danny are no different. Every girl should be so lucky to have a best friend like Danny Ellis. He’s sweet, kind, funny, compassionate, and sexy. If it’s good, it’s him.

Olivia and Danny have been best friends for fifteen years. They have celebrated ups and downs with each other. They know that when there is no one else, they have each other’s backs. “I’ve got you. You know that, right? I’ve always got you.” So, when Olivia finds herself pregnant and unmarried, she turns to Danny. Danny has his reasons for never wanting to get married or have kids, but there isn’t anything he wouldn’t do for Olivia.

The Best Friend Bargain shows what can happen when you meet the one and you don’t even know it. Olivia and Danny are like two sides to a coin. They go together like peanut butter and jelly. They know each other like no one else and are truly each other’s best friend.

I don’t know how Robin Bielman does it, but she has once again written characters you can’t help but wish were real, so you could know them. I loved the playfulness between Danny and Olivia, from goofy knock, knock jokes to middle of the night emails, to watching their romance blossom and grow. Robin is the queen of the romantic grand gesture and she manages to make you need a tissue just when you think you’re safe.

I don’t know if this is the end of the Kisses in the Sands series, but I hope it isn’t. All the characters in this series are simply amazing. The Best Friend Bargain is a standalone read with the previous couples making appearances.

2.5 rounded up to 3 stars.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as I expected to. Normally I loved friends to lovers romances, but I couldn't get into this one. Judging by the ratings/reviews on Goodreads, I am in the minority so don't let my review turn you off of it completely.

I thought Olivia came across as a very selfish and self centered person. She completely disappears out of her best friend's life for 6 six months and then shows up out of the blue, pregnant, and wanting him to marry her so she doesn't have to go through it alone. Really? Apparently it's completely acceptable for her to ask him to put his dating life and sexual needs on hold permanently and help her raise another man's child because god forbid she deal with her own consequences of her actions. Then for over half of the book she is STILL thinking about her ex that dropped her when she told him she was pregnant.

I didn't dislike Danny but he just seemed way too quick to do anything Olivia requested. It was not believable at all, in my opinion. What guy is going to agree to a sexless marriage and the raise another man's child just to "help her out"? Of course they do fall into bed together eventually but I didn't feel the spark between the two of them that led to love. Danny's repetitive freak outs over his eye condition got a bit old too.

I didn't like how the story jumped in time a lot. There were a few times in the story when they just had a very important talk or argument and then it jumps ahead a few weeks.

Four Great Stars! Olivia comes back from being overseas pregnant from a man whom she thought was the man of her dreams. When she returns home she has a plan, get her best friend Danny to marry her and claim the baby is his. Danny does not believe in marriage or family, but can he refuse Olivia's request for marriage? What will happen between Danny and Olivia? Will they end up having a happily ever after or will everything go up in smoke? This was a great story about two friends who eventually become lovers. The chemistry between Danny and Olivia was sweet and the author did a great job developing it. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and felt it was well written. This is the first book by Ms. Bielman that I have read and I will definitely be looking for more. This is the third book in the Kisses in the Sand Series but can be read as a stand alone novel. I recommend this book!

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. This book was read and reviewed by Annamaria for Alpha Book Club.

This was a very cute friends to lovers story. Danny is happy living the bachelor life style but when his best friend Olivia blurts out they are married and expecting a baby. Danny’s well planned out bachelorhood goes up in flames. Olivia need Danny to agree to marry her because she’s hoping to save face with her mom. What neither one counts on is for their agreement to get complicated with feelings, passion, and noisy people in their small town. This story is cute, sweet, and some tough situations in need of tackling. My favorite part of the Lovestruck genre is the light hearted sweetness to the writing. I would give it 4 stars because personally I like the steamier plotted storylines but if that’s not your thing then this is a good novel for you to read.

Review:
I truly enjoyed this book. The banter between Olivia or Liv and Danny is great. You can tell they have been friends for a very long time. This book to me made is a feel good book, the friendship above all else was good. There is drama what book doesn’t have that. I enjoyed the way they could read each other, looks, twitch of the mouth, their body language.

It all starts out with a lie but not all of it. Danny has some issues with his health that make him stand off-ish in the relationship department. The emails back and forth were amazing because, what they couldn’t say face-to-face they did it there. They set up rules while living together that are just waiting to be broken. There was so much chemistry between them it was palpable. It wasn’t if their would be broken rules but when. Danny does whatever he can to protect Olivia through their friendship, even from her own mother. Her relationship with her mother isn't that great. Olivia always feels like she let her down. Danny has a good relationship with his family and Olivia is actually really close with them. There were a couple things that did bother me though, was the fact that she left with no word to her best friend six months. If they were that close she should have talked to him a bit more. Then, two was when she fell back into his life, he had no idea who she was. They were best friends, he should have known.

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more from this author. Join these two to see if their friendship can turn into something else.
