Dwight you dog.

Nice issue, really liked the battle. Negan freaking out with what happened was a nice touch too. I like what's happening and the artwork is amazing. Solid stuff.

One complain that keeps being a problem for awhile now and I won't stop saying it is how Rick is doing NOTHING. Absolutely NOTHING. Main character of the series... doing.. Nothing.
They go to war and Rick is doing... Nothing. Nothing, nothing, nothing.-

That sucks. Big time.

Oh well.

What an eventful issue! Lucille "died" and Negan cried, Carl got jilted and Dwight's going undercover. I have a feeling Beta might be someone important, like that guy Douglas exiled from Alexandria before Rick's group got there. I could be totally wrong though, I forgot whether they killed or just kicked him out. Anyways, RIP Lucille :( You will be missed!!

This is a review of the entire series.

Rick Grimes is a strong-willed deputy who missed the end of the world because he was in a coma for a month after getting shot in the line of duty. Shaken, starving and confused, Rick escapes the horror of the abandoned hospital only to be met with something far more terrible. Not only has the world ended, but the dead have learned to walk and to kill without mercy. After learning that his wife and son have fled to Atlanta from a single survivor and his son, Rick goes on a journey to reunite with his family and search for more survivors.

Rick quickly has to come to terms with the fact that the world has ended and only a select few survived. The dead have risen from their graves and they prey on the living. In a world where every minute feels like hours, where there's no such thing as law and order, where finding a small meal is a tremendous task, the walking dead are quite possibly the least threatening thing for the survivors to have on their breaking minds. Humanity is pushed to the brink of destruction, forcing them to embrace their cruel and primal nature in order to survive. Sometimes you have to be more concerned about who you let into your community so they don't kill you in your sleep and steal everything you once cared about. Rick has no choice but to abandon the ways of law and order that he's upheld as an officer for so long in order to protect the few loved ones he has left. He has to become a monster to protect his crew or risk being devoured by those who became more monstrous than him and even the walking dead.

Despite zombies running the world and having the series named after them, what really sets this series apart from the average zombie apocalypse tale is the focus on realism and the daily struggles, flaws and depth of the characters. There's plenty of badass zombie killing action, but the action often takes a back seat to give the characters plenty of times to share their extremely tragic yet endearing stories, grow through mutual suffering and learn to adapt to a world that has left them to die. Even after the world has ended, many people still can't see eye to eye. They turn on each other and kill each other when they should come together. Others form alliances in spite of their differences and try to rebuild over the corpse of everything that was lost. The daily human drama and conflict is more intense than any monster apocalypse could hope to be.

We watch Rick struggle to balance his old moral code with the many necessary evils he has to commit in order to survive and make the world a better place for the ones he holds close. We watch people like Glen, Dale and Maggie attempt to find love in spite of having every reason to be filled with fear, hate and self-loathing. Characters like Michonne have to learn how to forgive themselves and convince themselves they deserve to be loved despite all the blood on their hands. We watch the weak like Carl and Andrea become strong and sometimes the strong become evil like The Governor. Even monsters like the wicked yet oddly lovable Negan are given the chance to find new ways of redeeming themselves by struggling alongside the other survivors that have all been changed by the horrors of the fallen world.

The pacing is extremely slow and I can understand why that may be a turnoff for a lot of people, but I eventually learned to enjoy watching the characters grow, overcome their trauma, find meaning in life and learn to love again. The characters are forced to do many terrible things to survive and it haunts them every waking moment. The ways they overcome these regrets is very realistic, human and hopeful. The slow pacing really gives the feeling that we're living beside these people. The way every tiny detail of their lives and who they are is explored makes them feel very real and believable.

When I first started reading the series, I wasn't expecting it to have such an uplifting ending. It seemed so bleak and nihilistic for a long time and things would go horribly wrong even when they seemed to be going so well, but the finale channels all the pain, suffering and betrayal of the previous volumes and tops it off with a very touching and inspiring finish. This was never a story about hopelessness. It's about learning to appreciate the little things, learning to forgive yourself and learning to move on even when it's hard. When everything seems lost there's always more to be found, even when we believe otherwise because we convince ourselves that we don't deserve to be happy ever again. Instead of dwelling on what was lost, strive to try and make things better than they were before.

I've never been a huge fan of zombie apocalypse stories, but The Walking Dead had enough heart and strong social commentary to make me stick by the characters until the end and I enjoyed every moment of their long trial.

A solid and well written issue, I like all the parallel character arcs running through.
The writing in the last few issues has been terrific and the current arc 'The Whisperer War' is the best storyline that the comic has had for a while. I enjoyed this quite a bit!

Damn, Negan is crazy. And not in the fun way. Well, that's not true. I do enjoy it when he goes nuts on someone who isn't Rick or someone from Alexandria. Though I still can't stand seeing him swing Lucille after he used her/it/the bat to kill Glenn. Still makes me sad. :( I also still think it's creepy that he calls the bat 'baby', in almost a sexy seeming way.

The fight between Negan and Beta had me laughing. Especially when Negan referenced King Arthur, Super Mario (I think), and Popeye all within a few minutes. And I did like when he kicked Beta, since I think that guy's a prick and deserved much more than that.

Whoo! That was a close one for Dwight. For a moment there, I thought that he was a goner. But thankfully he managed to get his gun out of the holster at his waist in time.

Michonne did great with her sword, like usual. I'm also glad that she alerted Jesus to watch out so that the walkers wouldn't be able to get him and chow down on him.

Oh shit, is right! That damn walker just bit Jesus! How much do you want to be that as soon as I continue reading this, they're going to pretend that it bit the clothes and not him? Which is screwed up since it specifically shows in the comic strip that the walker's mouth is over the skin and not the shirt or protective gear. I'm calling it now.

I don't have much to say about Magna and the woman with the short hair. Only that I still don't trust them not to screw over Rick and the rest of the people in Alexandria.

And Negan, with his crazy remarks. He's still fighting with Beta. I hope that he's able to kill that piece of crap. I love that he was beating the shit out of Beta with Lucille.. And now she is history.

I don't like how emotional Negan is over a damn bat. That's just weird. I get that it's named after his wife or someone he knew or something, but still. It's just a bat, and not a person.

Oh man! Look at all of those walkers that are biting or trying to bite Negan. Did they break the flesh? Are we going to see him turn into a walker now? Can't wait to find out!

It made me laugh when Negan was all, "No! He's mine! Bring him back! Gimmie gimmie!" It made me think of a kid begging for a toy or something like that. Still wondering if he's been bit or not, since there's a whole crowd of walkers surrounding him.

Okay, good job guys! You got rid of the walkers and hopefully a bunch of those asshole Whispers in the process. I laughed at the Negan and Dwight scene. I very much agree with Dwight. It's just a bat, move on already.

So, apparently Negan's jacket has some kind of magical powers. Because he was surrounded by walkers just a page ago with them biting him all over, and yet he has not one bite on him now? And he's not worrying about turning? That's a major plot hole, Mr. Kirkman. You need to keep better track of that kind of thing from now on.

Oh no, that doesn't sound good. Shit, look at all of those walkers. And I'm sure there's even some Whispers thrown in for good measure. Negan said it best, they're fucked.

Okay, the Whispers are stopping in the woods. I was hoping that Michonne would go tearing after them with her sword and chop them up into little pieces so that we can be done with their asses already.

Well, there goes Beta killing one of his own people. Now we know that the fucker's still alive unfortunately. He really needs to go the way of Alpha and just die already.

Oh Negan, stop making me laugh when Dwight's trying to be serious! Man, he better watch himself. Talking shit to that woman with the short hair is gonna end with him getting his ass shot.

Well, Dwight's plan seems like a good idea so far. Though there is a difference between making a plan and actually putting it into action. We'll have to see how they do and see if it works out for them.

The whole scene between Carl and Lydia was sad. I don't trust Lydia, and I know I've said that ever since she became part of the comic, but I can't shake the feeling she's going to do something horrible. Like betray Carl/Alexandria. And the stuff about how she doesn't love Carl is just crap. She's scared of her mother killing him, or her, but that's no reason to lie. It's more reason to tell the truth while you still can.

I can't tell who the guy is that's sweating so much. And now they've got me curious about what he's pulling behind him. I saw the little rope thing that's connected to his back, and really want to know what or who he's pulling along behind himself.

Ah, Eugene. Glad to see ya, pal. And even more glad that you're doing something useful and teaching others how to make bullets and even better, how to make double the amount to put out. That will definitely help the communities.

The short Aaron and Maggie scene was nice. I'm glad to see the two of them talking, and Maggie worrying about him. It was nice to see. Hopefully the two of them will have more scenes together in the future.

I agree with Rick. I'd rather be called silly and be wrong and worrying for nothing, instead of being right and not worrying at all and ending up getting one or more people killed.

John is an asshole. And so are Sherry, and Tara for even thinking about going against Rick. No matter, they'll eventually learn how stupid and futile it is to try and go against Rick. Better people have tried.

Ugh. I'm really getting tired of that guy who likes Maggie, constantly following her around and just trying to be around her all of the time. What is it going to take for this guy to understand that she's not interested?

The Carl and Sophia scene isn't even really worth talking about. All that happened was that Carl told her it was time for dinner, and she said that she would meet him in a few minutes.

Man, William is not to be fucked with. His whole scene with Zachary shows just how dangerous this guy is. I'm not sure that I want him running the Kingdom. I feel like he's going to be a threat to Rick and the others soon, and that Michonne should just run the Kingdom.

Woot! Go Dwight for taking out another of the Whispers. They thought they were so slick and all that shit, but they're not. Oh, ew. I'm not a fan of Dwight trying to disguise himself as a walker/Whisper. What a way to end the issue, though. Nice one.

I think the big loss in this issue is going to hurt people as much, if not more, than some of the other deaths in recent memory! Dwight is turning out to be quite the tactician, though I can see how his plan might backfire. Also, am I the only one that thinks Rick is showing too much hesitance as a leader, right in the same moment that someone else seems to be championing the communities on the front lines? I see this ending with quite the internal power struggle!

Bien por el regreso de Negan con Lucille, este número estuvo muy padre, no me esperaba que Dwight hiciera eso de la cara, mientras que no lo confundan, es buena idea.

First round of war and casualties are there but Lucille is dead yes the baseball bat. Awesome flow and it is simply awesome. It's no wonder The Walking Dead is a legendary series, it truly deserves all the praise it can get. I love The Walking Dead and it's style. It's wonderful and I love the journey taken with Rick and the group as they roam the wasteland in search of life and stability.

I have always loved comics, and I hope that I will always love them. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics or Diamond Comics or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on the international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I can. I Love comics to bit, may comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and then just Keep on Reading.

I was legitimately scared that Negan was going to be killed off before he can have some more fleshing out in this series. I'd seen headlines saying that this issue "Completely Destroys SPOILER," so there was some suspense. Luckily, it was just Lucille that was destroyed. There is still more for Negan to do. And it's interesting that Dwight isn't hesitant to wear a Whisperer mask.
