Crossing Time

Rate this book
A love story that defies the barriers of time

When a cosmic event opens the seals to the universe’s spiritual planes, the town of Saint’s Grove will be in for a Halloween they will never forget. Supernatural creatures — good and bad — will take over the quaint little town, creating havoc and destruction. But the event will also bring together two people from very different worlds. Two people who would never have fallen in love otherwise...

Madison Frost never believed in fairy tales or happily-ever-afters. She didn’t have time to daydream about a knight in shining armor when she was desperately trying to keep her business from going under. When her town gets invaded by supernatural creatures, she saves a mysterious man who manages to breach the barriers of her steely heart. There’s only one problem, she believes he can never be hers for loyalty is calling him back home, back to the 19th century.

Albert Saint is a man filled with regret and anger. Forced to return to Saint’s Grove — a place he hates — he tries to forget his inner turmoil with alcohol and illegal fights. Everything changes on the evening someone tries to murder him. Albert narrowly escapes death and travels through time, crossing paths with a beautiful brunette who saves him. He can’t explain the powerful connection he feels toward Madison, an emotion that will make him question everything he ever believed to be true.

I always knew creative arts were my calling but not in a million years did I think I would become an author. With a background in fashion design I thought I would follow that path. But one day, out of the blue, I had an idea for a book. One page turned into ten pages, ten pages turned into a hundred, and before I knew, my first novel, The Prophecy of Arcadia, was born.

I live in Florida with my husband and baby daughter. I'm currently working on the Arcadian Wars series, the Elements series, and the Love Me, I'm Famous series.

Arcadian Wars is a YA Paranormal/SciFi Romance series. It follows the life of a group of teens who possess incredible powers and have a very important mission: save their planet and in the process, save Earth too. The first book, The Prophecy of Arcadia, and the novella, The Fall of Arcadia, are already available. The second book, The Phoenix Shadow, will be published in the summer of 2015.

Elements is a new YA Paranormal Romance series. It focuses on two sisters who hold the key to stop a full-blown war between elemental beings and humans. Look for the first book by the end of 2015.

Love Me, I'm Famous is a NA Contemporary Romance series and each book will be a standalone focused on different characters. As the name of the series suggests, at least one of the characters in each book will be somewhat famous. The first book is slated to be published later in 2015.

An ARC has generously been provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

WARNING, IF YOU DON’T LIKE:

-paranormal stories filled with every mythical creature possible be it vampires, werewolves, witches, ghosts, demons, etc.;

-really fast paced stories where the main characters run to save their lives, barely evade a trap just to fall in the villain’s hands and have to escape again;

-stories where unexpected allies or magical tools or genius ideas happen too conveniently aka when everything seems lost just to start better and faster again;

-unexplainable attraction at first sight between a handsome rogue from the 18th century and a gorgeous modern woman;

-crossing times stories;

Then don’t read this book because it fits the above descriptions to a T. Don’t come complaining, you’ve been warned and I won’t listen to you!
Now if you love all these things you’ll be in heaven with the latest MH Soar’s novel!!!

I’m not usually a fan of crossing time stories but when MH Soars proposed her latest novel I did not hesitate one moment. I think I’ve read everything she wrote so far and she’s never disappointed me. Yes, I’m a fan. So?
From aliens to ice queen/jock romance going through rock star novels, she knows how to write a captivating story and enthrall me every time. Madison and Albert’s story once more did it for me.

In the beginning of the book, Madison was a dependent girl financially and emotionally. Not the kind of girl I like. She is trained in martial arts but let her boyfriend trample her too many times. I was all “Oh no! Just get a backbone girl!” I can’t stand doormats!
Maybe the male main character would save my day but no Albert was a coward! He left the girl who loved him going back to his parents, despising his fate but not strong or determined enough to fight for what he believed in. Bitter, he tried to drown his sorrow in alcohol.

It did not bode well for my read and I was ready to DNF this book but…
Throw some magical circumstances opening other dimension’s portal and the whole story changed drastically, forcing the characters to confront their fears and overcome their flaws.

Madison did not believe in anything supernatural and it was suddenly raining magical creatures. ”I was never one to believe in urban legends, fairy tales, or any magical nonsense, not even when I was a child. And growing up in a small town with deep roots in mysticism and legends, not believing in the supernatural was almost heresy. But I was soon to discover that I had been wrong all along.”

On that fateful night, Madison and her best friend Cher will have to flee to save their lives from these very aggressive and hungry supernatural creatures. They’ll help Albert a handsome stranger to escape this madness. They soon discover Albert comes from the 18th century and is flabbergasted and lost in our modern world. It was funny reading about his reactions when he discovered the wonders of a shower, the light without fire, a carriage moving without horses and…Victoria Secret’s underwear.

As they fight for their lives and try to help Albert going back in time, Madison will realize she has to stand for herself and can’t depend on others for everything. She morphed into a strong woman fighting figuratively and literally for what and who she loved. Allelujah! She’ll use round kicks as well as baseball bats, a real Kill Bill!

Albert will also embrace his fate and man up enough to stop moping and will act on his feelings. Forgotten the bitter heir, welcome the determined rascal. Soooo much better!

Throughout the book, we run, fight, solve ancient mysteries about witches journals and amulets, meet unexpected allies, discover who’s a witch and did not know it, kiss and make out when there’s a respite in this madness…it never stops. It’s not a fast pace but lightning speed and I could not put it down.

I received this book free in return for my honest review.
This book takes us through the story of Madison, a 21 year old girl from current time who is plagued by nightmares set in 1875 and Albert, a 22 year old man from 1875 who is attacked and escapes his would-be murderer by traveling through time to Madison era. We travel with the main characters through a dual point of view while they navigate through countless paranormal experiences dimensions and Horrors the likes of which they have never seen. The author did a great job jumping back and forth between points of view and really convey each character's feelings emotions and thought process according to their specific upbringing and background. I look forward to reading the next story in this series.

REVIEW: 3.75 stars--CROSSING TIME by M.H. Soars is part of the multi-authored SAINTS GROVE paranormal, time travel series focusing on the town of Saint’s Grove, Virginia in the aftermath of a total lunar eclipse, and the alignment of the planets, that will open a portal to the otherworld releasing all mythical beings for an epic battle of Good versus Evil. This is coffee shop owner Madison Frost, and Albert Saint’s story line.

CROSSING TIME is a story of discovery where witches, warlocks and guardians enter into a centuries old battle to possess a rare amulet with extraordinary powers. Albert and Madison will fall in love; Madison’s best friend Cher will discover some powers of her own; and a supernatural Guardian will endeavor to protect everyone concerned.

The premise is entertaining with plenty of action and mystery; the characters are colorful; the romance is fated by time and circumstance.

I did have one issue as it pertained to a particular attack against out story line heroine wherein she is poisoned by a magical vine that for some reason had little to no affect on anyone else who touched the vine as well. Perhaps it was something that was overlooked but I would have thought that the poison would have had the same affect on everyone……*walks away thinking too hard*

I received an arc of this book. The story of Albert and Maddie crosses over time, and like the other stories that are in this series features many paranormal creatures and people. It is well written and the characters are enjoyable. I would like to know more of Liam's backstory, he is very interesting for a secondary character. I liked the way the story was narrated from Maddie and Albert's points of view, it allowed insight into both of their lives and feeling. So far everything I have read in this series has been interesting and enjoyable. I love that they are basically standalone novels, but they sometimes mention events and characters that are in other books. Of course, the main event that is experienced in the square is in every book, but I love seeing it from so many different points of view!

I received this book as an ARC to review.

Albert is really the picture of what an upscale gentleman from the late 1800's would be like, it's so cute to see him around Madison. He is so perplexed by the brashness and modern ways. The author did a wonderful job having him adjust to this century. The build-up between him and Madison was very sweet. I would have liked to have learned more about Liam and Cher's mom, but otherwise this was a great story. Loved the overall plot and feel of the story. This is the third book I have read in this series and the authors have done an excellent job collaborating together.

Crossing Time is a fast-paced, action packed, love story. I love how M. H. Soars wove in both Madison and Albert POVs. it definitely adds depth to the story.

I adore Madison. I find her character very relatable. I love that she is strong and vulnerable at the same time.

I did not want the story to end. I can definitely see additional adventures for Liam, Cher, Albert, and Madison.

M. H.Soars has created an in-depth world full of creatures I can only imagine. Her characters are warm and real and the way she tells this story made me feel like I was living it myself, terrifying as that would be with all those scary alien monsters running around the previously quiet town. I highly recommend this story to anyone who likes paranormal romance stories, and I can't wait to read more from this author.

Paranormal is something I’m starting to love but more than anything I loved the mystery laced within the book! I love trying to put the pieces of it all together and this book had some really good mysteries laced with in! Soars has become one of my favorite authors because she’s so versatile with her writing. A great read and I highly recommend.

A missing amulet, a lost love, supernaturals, chaos. What do all these things have in common? A crazy few days and all is in limbo. Creatures that were thought to be only a myth are loose and all leading up to Halloween. Four people fight to find a way to stop the madness that only one of them fully understands. Secrets. Lies. All of it comes together in this book that is part of a series but can be read as a standalone with no cliff-hanger but still questions over the man that appears to help them and suddenly disappears at the end. Great story with tons of action and steam. Loved it and yup it's definitely worth the time from this author who does this type of read well.

I really liked this story. Saint's Grove is a town that just pulls you in. Perfect reading for this time of year (Fall/Halloween). The order you read the series in doesn't matter which I also like. Crossing time deals with so many new things for me, witches, time travel, fairy's. This is not my normal reading, but I have to say, I am getting there fast! I wish there was more, I would love to read more about Cher and Liam. Together or apart :-) On to reading Burning Love a follow up novella.

Book five in the Saint’s Grove series. As Halloween approaches a cosmic event opens the seals to the universe’s spiritual planes releasing Super naturals both Good and Bad .Madison Frost does not believe in either Happy Ever Afters or Fairy Tales as she is busy trying to keep here business afloat. When things start happening in the town she rescues Albert Saint a man from the 19th century who just wants to get back to his time! Why was he sent forward in time? Will these two be able to defeat the werewolves, demons and the evil villain, who demands something that Albert has in his possession. What is it? What happens with Cher Madison's best friend? Who is the Guardian that is trying to protect everyone? I will say it is best to read the first book in the series and then the rest even though this is a standalone. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Big thanks to M.H. Soars for an ARC copy for review

I can never go wrong with a book about time travel, reincarnation, a thrilling paranormal world, and a timeless romance.  M.H. delivers a daring, sexy, and enthralling journey for Madison and Albert.  I definitely recommend this to fans of Adult/Paranormal genre, and I must say this is probably my favorite of her books.

I liked having both Madison (from 2016) and Albert's (from the late 19th century) perspectives. Though I did want to shake them at certain points, especially Albert for what he did to Alice. But overall Madison was a successful and strong young woman and Albert proved to be protective and loyal. He was an old fashioned English gentleman, and pretty swoon worthy might I add.

"I love you, Maddie. I want to spend the rest of my life with you." ~ Albert

But of course there was plenty of mystical turmoil in town to keep these characters on their toes. Things really picked up and at times I was left wondering the fate of Madison and Albert, but never doubt M.H. Soars for she makes the ending well worth it. She most certainly did for me and now Madison and Albert have a future to look forward to together.

This was a great read! Plenty of twists to keep you guessing, love to keep you longing, inner turmoil so you can feel. With paranormal reads, it can easily turn cheesy or cliche, I'm so glad this book didn't go that route. I look forward to reading more books in the Saints Grove series and more books by this author, M.H. Soars!

Really loved the premise. Time travel through magically opened portal to the future where the man's previous love who died was reincarnated in the future. But did not love the execution. No real connection. Ok writing. Skimmed a lot. Disappointing.

I enjoyed this Time-Traveling novel. I did find that Albert adapted a lot quicker than I would have expect from someone who jut travel 100 plus years in the future. Maddie is trying to take back her life after a really bad relationship and be the independent woman she wants to be. Here comes Albert wanting to protect her and treat her right but in Maddie's mind she needs to be independent and not give into Albert. Of course that doesn't last by the end of the book. I have to say that I still distrust Liam big time after reading this book. There are a lot of unanswered questions by the end of this book so I am hoping there is more in this series after this one. This was a great mixture of paranormal, time-travel, kick-butt action and some steam.

Wow this is a fantastic read. It grabbed me right from the first page. Madison saves a man after it is invaded. Albert Saint is filled with anger and regreat. But he seems to have a pull to Madison. This is a fantastic read that brings twists and turns as well as being a fast paced read that is a real page turner. I really love how the Author has brought out the Characters and the story. This is definitely a read I highly recommend
