Seventeen years after his death, Bob Marley is still the undisputed king of reggae. In this book, Morris celebrates this great performer who reached past stardom to become a spiritual avatar to millions of people. 150 photos, 50 in color.
I bought this book almost 30 years ago, and come back to it every few years. It was my first in depth look at Bob Marley and his life, aside from a VHS biography I had of him. I'm glad this was the book I chose as an introduction to the life of a man whose words have helped shape me. The photographs are a window that allow me to peer just a bit into Marley's fascinating life. I feel like we are friends as I flip through these rare photos. I never get tired of looking at them. Many hold him on a pedestal, but this book keeps him grounded. It shows his imperfections, and his greatness. I could go on and on about this photobiography, but I won't. Have a look for yourself. There has been no one like him on this earth, and I don't know that there will ever be again.
