I love this series. I picked this book up at a signing I attended and Lori was a new to me author but I love cowboys and was willing to give this series a go. I am so glad I did. I love this series and cowboys in it.
Beginnings #0.5
This a prequel in the Crawley Creek series it can be read before or after the first book in the series. This is the story of how Abraham and Seraphina Crawley came to foster children on their ranch in North Dakota. About how badly they wanted children even if they weren’t their children by blood. They have been trying to have children and you will read about that struggle in this book. I loved reading about these two people who touched so many children’s lives. Who fostered so many children. Some just passing through and some who stayed. I was glad to read about the people who raised the 4 men who you read about in the Crawley Creek series.
Forget Me Knot #1
Lacy lost her job recently and now has decided to open her own business but in the mean time she wants to cross a dream off her list. She wants to learn to ride a horse. Drannon Russo winds up at Crawley Creek after a tragedy as a foster child. He moved away as an adult but when his career ended the family was there for him again. It’s lonely at the ranch but when a beautiful red head shows up at the ranch one-day things begin to look up. Lacy is only at the ranch to learn to ride a horse not to fall in love with a cowboy. She will be starting over once her vacation is over. Or at least that’s the plan. A snow storm may have her staying at the ranch longer than she thought. Kind of silly to book a trip to North Dakota to learn to ride in the middle of winter. Drannon is taken with Lacy the moment he sees her. He knows that he wants more with her. But, she is a guest at the ranch and that would be wrong. Lacy is attracted to Drannon as well but and is willing to have a vacation fling. Lacy and Drannon both has issues. Both in their past and in romance. Will they be willing to give it a shot and see where thing go? I really liked this book. It pulled at my heart strings several times and had me laughing at others. I am eager to read more books in this series as well as other books by Lori.
Rough Ride Romeo #2
This is the second book in this series and I think you should read them order. Roman (Romeo) has been on a guilt trip to hell since their foster father died. He has been drinking, stay out all night, and sleeping around more than usual because of his guilt. Then one day he meets Franki. He runs over her motorcycle because he isn’t paying attention. He is going to make sure her bike gets fixed. Roman is struck by how beautiful Franki is and how attracted he is to her. Franki is on look for her sister. She needs to find her and doesn’t have time for a playboy cowboy no matter how attracted to him she is. Roman knows Franki is up to something by how stressed she is. He doesn’t stop until she tells him. Once she does he makes it his mission to help her find her sister. Will they be able to find her sister in time? Will they give into their feelings for each other? These two maybe able to help each other more than they know. I felt for both Franki and Roman. Both have been through so much and are both going through things. Roman’s guilt eats at him. Franki only has her sister and she is willing to do whatever necessary in order to find her. Franki helps Roman without even realizing it. He stops drinking the day he meets Franki. She gives him a purpose that he desperately needs right now. I can’t say enough about this book or the series. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Forget Me Knot (Crawley Creek #1)

4 star

The story has laughs, secrets and heartbreak.

This is Lacy and Drannon’s story. Lacy booked a trip to the Crawley Creek Cattle Ranch but didn’t realize that she might be snowed in during her stay. She meets Drannon the first day but the meeting turns awkward after a little flirting. She meets him and again and realizes he is great but intense. Can she deal with that? The more time she spends with Drannon the more she has feelings for him but she is awaiting he big break and if she gets it she can’t stay. Can she give up on the dream she wanted to stay and love Drannon? Or will she realize her dreams have changed? Will Drannon ask her to stay or expect her to go? Will love win in the end?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

This is Franki and Romeo's story. Franki and Romeo meet when he backs into her bike. She is in town searching for her sister. She does not want anyone to know why she is in town. Crawley Creek: Beginnings

This is the love story of Abe and Sera Crawley. We find out how they met, when they fell in love, and how they came to own Crawley Creek Ranch. But most of all, we find out how and why they began taking in foster children and children in need. These two individuals have the biggest hearts of gold that I can ever remember reading of. No wonder Vin, Hawke, Romeo and Drannon came home. Abe and Sera were the only parents they have ever really known, their passing was bone deep to them.

You will cry during the book. Maybe not ugly cry but definite tears will be shed. The love Abe and Sera shared will move you.

Forget Me Knot

This is the first in a new series by this wonderful storyteller, Lori King. If you have never read one of Lori's books before, give this one a try. Abe and Sera Crawley couldn't have kids themselves, so they did a truly unselfish thing, they took in foster children. This is only brief minutes of the book, however, without that one moment of them deciding to foster, we wouldn't have the men who now run Crawley Creek Ranch. Each have a heart breaking story, of how they arrived there, but they stayed there because it was the one safe place they every knew. Drannon came there when his mom died. Like any child, he left the ranch to make it on his one. When he stumbled, he always had a home to come back to.

Lacy never knew her mother, and her father never really got over her mother enough to put enough into her. It sad that she lost one parent, yet not really having the other in a different way. When she loses her job, she decides to go do the one thing she always want to do.....ride a horse.

The chemistry between Drannon and Lacy is instantaneous. You could almost see it was so strong. He is a cowboy through and through, but for Lacy, he can be as tender as a filet mignon.

Rough Ride Romeo

Who know running over a poor defenseless motorcycle would be one of the best things Romeo could have ever done! Franki was in town to find her sister. Tired and afraid the last thing she needed was for her only mode of transportation to be taken from her.

Taking the bike home for one of his brother's to fix, Romeo did the one thing that Crawley Creek was known for, he took in someone in need. Franki quickly finds herself seriously attracted to Romeo and vice versa. Determined to find her sister, she confides in Roman and together they will do anything to help her.

This books is funny in one moment, extremely hot in another, and so sad in another that you will have tears in your eyes. Franki and Romeo are definitely two halves of one soul. Made for each other.

Beginnings
Such a sad story that changed so many lives for the better.
Abe and Sera's story is sad that it breaks your heart. But like the saying goes, "Behind every grey cloud is a silver lining." I can say this story made me cry out of sorrow for Sera and joy for all that Abe and Sera overcame as a couple to help so many lost souls to find their way.

Forget Me Knot
This book proves that there is a such thing as love at first sight! I loved how this book flowed and showed that with time love can happened so quick yet be so strong.

Rough Ride Romero
This series is quickly becoming my favorite. The hot cowboys with a big heart that make you want to move to North Dakota and find one for yourself. I can't wait to read about the other stories in the series!

What amazing stories of loyalty and love

These were such amazing stories of loyalty and love. The bond between the brothers is strong even though they aren't blood brothers and the welcome they have for the guests and strays they pick up is palpable. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading the rest of the stories.

Excellent tales of redemption and love.

Not sappy, these stories cover some of the evil humans can do to their own children, let alone to strangers, but they also cover the best of human nature, love, and forgiveness.

Healing

Is a process all of the boys have had to do at the ranch. Each were brought as children to the ranch but are more like family because of the couple that took them in. In the stories you find how they find their true loves.

I love the stories that Lori King writes, especially her Crawley Creek Ranch series. This is a good way to start the series as you get 3 stories in one set. Once you read these, you'll want to read the others.

I enjoyed this book bundle. The characters are easy to picture and relate to. The trials and tribulations that the characters face are hard to discuss, but the author has done a great job of it.

What a great way to discover the Crawley Ranch with the first three books in the series. Beginnings introduces the readers to where and why the ranch started. Without Abe and Sera, the ranch and its current residents would not have their stories to tell. Drannon and Lacy are the first couple to find their way together. City-girl meets cowboy and discovers herself and the ranch life. Romeo and Franki start off crashing into one another. She is feisty and keeps all the cowboys on their toes, especially Romeo. These three books easily set up the rest of series and leave the reader looking forward to see what happens next at Crawley Creek.

This book set is the beginning of journey of a group of adults that were all former Foster Kids of the loving Abe and Seraphira Crawley. They have all returned to Crawley Creek Ranch and live together as Brothers, with a strong bond and support of each other.
"Beginnings" - is a prequel telling the story of how Abe and Seraphira came to be Foster Parents. Rating 3
"Forget Me Not"- is a sweet story with a rather simple plot of the relationship between a real stand-up guy, Drannon and his lady love, Lacy. There are a very steamy scenes between these two. Rating 3.5
"Rough Ride Romeo"- With the first two books beginning on the simple side, I was very surprised of the depth of this story line. This time Romeo is the leading man, as he has been a total mess for the last year or so, as he is a drunk that sleeps around. He literally runs into a sexy, mysterious stranger, Franki. Franki story is intense and you can't help to feel for her. Her story hits Romeo right in his heart, and makes such an impression on him, that he immediately changes his wicked ways. Franki really needed a strong shoulder to lean on, and she gets that in Romeo and his loving family. This book gives the readers a sneak preview of some future story lines for the "brothers". Rating 4.5.

Forget Me Knot
Review:

Having started this series in the wrong order, it has been so nice to find out how some of the couples came to be. The possessive Drannon and his feisty Lacy are caught in lust at first sight, but this is not the run of the mill story. It is refreshing for the male character to show his vulnerability, that he too second guesses his words and actions. Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with a confident, even cocky alpha male, Drannon has shown these attributes too but his self-consciousness makes him more real, more natural. Lucy’s character speaks to me a great deal, that she would go to the middle of nowhere to try something new, that she appreciates the quiet, I could imagine myself as the character. This speaks to Lori Kings excellent writing skills, she brings me into the book, as if I have dived into the pages and am living in the moment.
This story is in a collection which I won as part of a competition. I would highly recommend the whole Crawley Creek series and can’t wait to continue the series and see how the characters, and continuing plots grow.
Beginnings
Review:

Warning, you will need tissues! I have read this series out of order, but am thoroughly enjoying learning about this close knit family. I don’t normally like prequels but this is an exception. Abe and Sera’s story, learning about their struggles, and character lays the groundwork for the other characters and adds depth to the series.
From the get go I want to fight in Sera’s corner, that she gets the family she most wishes for, having read other books, I know how the story plays out, but it speaks to the quality of Lori’s writing that I am still engaged with the emotional roller-coaster of the Crawley’s history.
This story is in a collection which I won as part of a competition. I would highly recommend the whole Crawley Creek series and can’t wait to continue the series and see how the characters, and continuing plots grow.

Rough Ride Romeo
Review:

I wasn’t sure how much I was going to like Romeo, but like in most things, you should never judge things by their appearances. Romeo has been consumed by grief and guilt and has been trying to dull the pain in self destructive ways. The nice thing about this story is that his redemption doesn’t come easy, even Marilyn and his closest friend and brothers are not letting him get away without reproach. Lori doesn’t sugar coat issues at Crawley Creek, though they understand the way Romeo feels, they make their feelings known and call him out. But it is not until fiery Frankie lands in his path does he want to change.
An aspect of this series I have greatly enjoyed is that no one is perfect, all the brothers, for as alpha and sexy as they are, like in real life, they all have their faults and flaws making the story and the pace of things more believable.
This story also shows that you don’t always get the happy ending, not that Romeo and Frankie don’t get together but that their mission has a different outcome, something which will have ramifications is stories to come.
This story is in a collection which I won as part of a competition. I would highly recommend the whole Crawley Creek series and can’t wait to continue the series and see how the characters, and continuing plots grow.

Forget Me Knot - Lacy has lost her job and her way a bit, but she decided to open her own company and follow her dreams. First though is learning to ride a horse while on vacation. Drannon had a rough start in life and ended up being fostered by the Crawley family. Life has a way of bringing you where you need to be.

These two are drawn to each other from their first meeting. Hello hot cowboy!! Neither is really into flings, but they can't seem to stay away from one another. I love this series, started reading it with Sunnyside Up and am finally getting to the beginning. Can't wait to read all the others!

Beginnings - What a wonderful sweet start to the Crawley Creek Ranch series. Short but sweet story of the couple that started things at Crawley Creek Ranch. Sera got some news and hasn't managed to tell Abe yet. Then she keeps getting interrupted trying to tell him. Really enjoyed how things worked out for these two. Can't wait to read the other books as well.

Rough Ride Romeo - Romeo is seemingly trying to bury his pain in booze and women. Franki has been through hell herself, and suddenly they crash into each other. Franki is on a mission and doesn't know who to trust, but she finds herself letting the crazy cowboy in bit by bit.

These two really tug at your heartstrings. I couldn't put this book down once i started it. Having started in the middle of the series, I kind of had some spoilers, but wow didn't see everything coming the way it did. Cant wait to read the next one and see what happens next for the ever growing family at Crawley Creek Ranch!!

My first delve into the writings of Lori King.
Abraham and Seraphina Crawley having such big hearts start bringing in foster boys. The love they have for each other and those boys is so terrific. More people need to do this.
Getting to read on and see how these boys turn into extraordinary men and the lessons the Crawley's instilled in them is beautiful.
This series has my heart! And it is not just because it is about cowboys ;) Ok maybe a little. We know I love my cowboys.
