I began reading this book immediately after finishing book one. Book two picked up right where book one left off and it was full of tension. No knowing what was going to happen next is something to expect in Cassandra’s work. It is really heard for the reader to tell where the story will take you next. Abby has been through a lot in her life and I thought book two may lighten up on her a bit, well it did in a way, but she’s still emotionally and mentally torn. Just when she thinks she will have Eli all to herself, she’s wrong. He has to go off on a mission with the boys, well except for Ryland who is still recovering from the last mission, the mission to save Abby. Abby busies herself while Eli is away saving a reporter that managed to get herself kidnapped. The mission went surprisingly smooth and Eli was back in the states ensuring that the reporter could live on her own before he could leave her. Abby is helping her friend plan for her wedding. I don’t think she really feels like doing everything she does, but she does it for the sake of her friend. The reporter takes a liking to Eli and tries to get him to sleep with her. She threatens to release Abby’s story, that he made the mistake of telling her because she didn’t believe things like that could happen to people in real life. Eli refuses to give in to her advances and employs the guys into trying to erase whatever evidence she has. Adams takes one for the team and goes to get the only piece of evidence they thought was left. Of course, she had backup. To clean up this mess, Abby has to go public about her story and her men. They become the Duct Tape and Honey crew and their story goes viral. The end of the book depicts the wedding. Everything was perfect and beautiful for Abby’s friend, then something strange happens. A man Abby didn’t know offered her service dog a biscuit. Now the reader knows “Hey, don’t let that person feed anything to your dog!”. Something happens to Patience, then Eli finds out that someone has taken his mother! You will have to read the book to see what happens! This book was IMMACULATELY written. I never once became confuse and I never once wanted to put this book down. The story flows perfectly, although I did think the mission was too easy. The pacing of the story is absolutely perfect. Ryland can talk all day, but I also have a secret (not so secret) crush on him! This series is a bit of a different style because of the age of the characters. I don’t mind the age difference though because Abby is very mature for her age, which is most likely because of her childhood. The events from her life have forced her to grow up before her time. I absolutely love this series and I can’t wait for the next book! ~Shelf Infatuation Book Blog
