When Alysin decided to surprise her boyfriend at work with dinner, the surprise was on her. Since he was going at it with his secretary on the conference table, she packed a bag and called her BFF. Jolie and Alysin had been traveling the country, working as digital nomads for ten years ever since graduation. Taking this as a sign it was time for a new move, they decided to take a cruise, regroup, and make a plan. Then she meets Mr. Bedroom Eyes. Following her lead, they pretend to be married so that she can rid herself of the guy who started hitting on her before the boat left the dock. Though it was supposed to be a momentary arrangement, he asks her to take it one step farther. Then another and another. The cruise promises to be memorable in every way that matters. Along the way, Alysin learns that she won't have to fake an orgasm if she's with someone who knows what to do, that not all men suck, but the best ones suck really well, and that sometimes what starts out as something pretend, can fast become something completely real. Will the woman who lives life with no regrets, regret that she made that stupid rule about not exchanging names and contact info?
How else was she going to parlay her two favorite past times into a career?
Emma is single and loving it. Like her first character, Alysin, Sin for short, she doesn't believe in settling or in settling down. She loves to indulge in her passions whenever the mood strikes and enjoys keeping all of life's cliche moments spicy.
Known for her sense of humor, Emma surrounds herself with friends whose antics often become the source of book fodder. Her ideal situation would be to explore the Caribbean while writing. She pursues that dream daily.
This little gem was way more that I expected!! The blurb doesn't do it justice...nor does it mention all the ménage we got goin on in here.. we get m/f/f, m/f/m/f, and even a little f/f! But mostly we get Alysin and Mr. BE. and they are HOT HOT HOT!!!
We start out with Alysin and her BF Jolie..they are like nomads..they never really stay in one place too long. They both have independent jobs and work from their laptops. ( fun!!!) So it's easy for them to hit the road after Alysin walks in on her current boyfriend at his office bent over his secretary going at it.
So they decide to hit the sea on go on a one week cruise...while on this cruise they will decide where they want to live next...
Well..this is when things get REALLY interesting... Alysin meets this super hot sexy hunky guy and they agree to a one week f'ck fest with no strings attached and no names exchanged!!
But of course, my friends, things get complicated.....feelings start running deeper and they realize one week may not be enough....
So what happens when the week is over?? Well.. this is a novella and I read it in about an hour and that's not near enough time for things to play out.. so.. we have book 2 coming in August! And I for one, cannot wait. Although its a cliffy ending, I swear its not bad... it's more like a "to be continued" ending and its a good place for the story to pause. Plus, August is just around the corner so it's not a long wait.
I thought this was really super cute and pretty damn hot. Here's a little taste :
As soon as he realized what I was doing, he dropped his shorts and yanked down his boxers. He had a hand on his cock and was stroking it as he came closer. Then he dropped to his knees, roughly moved my hand out of the way and buried his face in my soft shaved folds. I gasped when I felt his tongue licking, his teeth nipping, and thesucking gently had me moaning. My hips arched to allow him better access. It was too much, especially, when I heard the sound of him stroking fast and furious. Soon, I was shuddering and quaking. The best part was that he knew I was having an orgasm. I didn’t need to grab his head and hold him in place; instead he kept going and let me ride it out. Damn, this man was dangerous.
So, go ahead and check this baby out..it's a hot quick read but still there was enough time to develop a good story between the two main characters..there were some pretty good emotional moments thrown in and it really worked for me.
Emma Nichols takes us on a fantasy cruise with Sin at Sea! Alysin catches her boyfriend banging his secretary at work! So what's a girl to do? Pack up her best friend and catch a boat! That's right Alysin and her bestie Jolie grab a bag and within 24 hours are on a cruise ship. Fast work girls! But not as fast as when Alysin goes to get something to eat and uses Tall Dark and Sexy to ward off a creepy guy! Tall Dark and Sexy plays the part of the jealous husband well, so well in fact that they decide to continue the ruse throughout the cruise. And things just get hotter from there!
These two steam up the Caribbean with everything from a menage with Jolie to swinging with another couple and even playing with sex toys! But the best part about this book is the underlying relationship that starts even though we never get to know Tall Dark and Sexy's name. That's right! One of the rules of their game is no names, no contact after all is said and done!
This is a quick and satisfying read! Though you will be begging for more!! And if you are like me you will be stalking Ms. Nichols to find out when the next book will be coming!
Sin at Sea brought me back to my Carnival Cruise that I went on with the hubs, we even ported out of Charleston, SC but on my cruise there was no mystery man and def. not all the hotness that went on in this story.
For Alysin and Jolie life is always on the go. Anytime something in their life goes wrong they pack their stuff and move away to a new town, with new people and new adventures. But what happens when you meet someone that you don’t want to leave? What happens when hearts become involved and you find yourself wanting to settle down? Well for Alysin that is exactly what happened with a man whose name she doesn’t even know!
I was surprised at this book. I thought the storyline was brilliant. Who wouldn’t want to go on a cruise after they find their boyfriend of 2 years screwing his secretary at the office on a conference table, and on said cruise meets a mystery man whom you have wild and crazy passionate sex with for 7 glorious days with no strings attached, no commitment, no names, nothing? Well that is what Alysin got and this is her story.
Alysin is smart, beautiful and has a funny sense of humor.
"Hey, you have to come get your things. You left some things here. Let me know when you're coming by. We can talk...in person." He had found something to hope for, to hang on to. I could fix that. "Kyle, it's a toothbrush and some panties. Keep them. Wear them if you want. It's the only way you are getting back in my panties again."
Mr. BE (Bedroom Eyes) since we still don’t know his name is mysterious and sexy as sin. He treats Alysin like a queen in every since of the word and I could tell when feelings started to develop leaving him and Alysin wanting more but not exactly knowing where to take it.
"So, I get a ring and a protector, you get sex? Is that the agreement?"
"Mostly. I want quality time, too. I want the boring stuff. I want to watch the sunset with you. I want to watch movies, eat dinner, dance, grab drinks. I want naps in the afternoon and to fall asleep holding you at night. I want it all. The whole package." He took my hands in his and gripped them. "What do you think
And let the story begin.....In the beginning there was a little bit of this….
Throughout the entire novella you watch their “relationship” unfold and feelings start to grow but they both stick to their guns and don’t complicate things with including feelings, exchanging names, and contact information.
But what happens when they both start to want more? Will they step outside their little box and go for it? I can’t wait to find out what happens with this couple and if their feelings they both harbor deep inside amounts to an actual relationship.
"This isn't a time for sex, babe. I just wanted to be in here to help wash you, to steady you, to keep you safe. There will be plenty of time for you to show your appreciation later. For now, let me show you how much I care," he said gently.
It's a good thing we were in the shower, otherwise he would have known that some of the water running down my cheeks didn't come from the plumbing.
Sin at Sea is a sexy short read that will keep you entertained from start to finish. I truly enjoyed this fun loving, sexy, and funny read the only thing I wish I got in it was at least his name but no Mr. BE is still a mystery to me so I guess I will find out more about him and their next adventure in Vixen In Vegas.
"I specialize in leaving uncomfortable situations with alarming speed. Some people need closure; I need space. When I need this space, I do it in style."
Have you ever just wanted to pack it up and run away with your best friend? Ever meet a guy, start up a romance and not even know his name? Sin at Sea dives into Alysin's world where she doesn't settle and she never settles down. Alysin is an expert at running away and finding new adventures, this time she runs away to regroup on a 7-day cruise and runs right into the arms of Mr. Bedroom Eyes (or BE).
This novella was the perfect story to read while sipping an icy, cold drink and sitting outside soaking up the sun; essentially the perfect beach read. (Of course, you can read this inside in the comfort of your home so when you get flustered at the sexy scenes you have air conditioning to cool you down). You get instant sparks and lots of steamy sex but you also get a story of two people who wanted no strings attached finding that maybe, just maybe the strings wouldn't be too bad.
Emma Nichols delivers a sexy novella that sets up a series about Alysin and BE perfectly, I can't wait to see what happens next between these two (I have a hunch I know where it is going but with these slick authors you never really know until they write it out for us). This is an erotica story but isn't a done in a crude way, it was written tastefully and almost conservatively (you don't get a detailed play by play but it does have some situations where there are more than just Alysin and BE in the scene (m-f-f and m-f-f-m)
I enjoyed Sin at Sea, the writing flowed and it was easy to get wrapped up in the story of BE and Alysin, it really makes you want to take a cruise! (I would have loved more detail and background on each of the characters, but this was a novella to set up a series, so it made sense) Fo her debut,Emma Nichols really impressed me with this story and she will definitely go on my author to buy list! I can't wait until Vixen in Vegas (Sinful Novella #2) comes out later this year! Sin at Sea comes out June 25th and if I were you I would buy it right away!
**this book was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review**
When Alysin grabbed supper and went to see her boyfriend at work her world came crashing down. She finds Kyle with his secretary. Don't go bashing with the cliche thing, cause it is I know. What does she do? She is a runner, plain and simple it gets hot she scrams from the kitchen! Within minutes of a phone call to BFF Jolie, Alysin is on her way. Being they both work via sat, they have no reason to stay in any one spot. It is sort of sad that they can pick up, but they have a life like that.
They decide on a cruise. They get to a hotel and forge a plan. Here we go girls, this is what I liked. The fact that they could take picture, work via a laptop and had a plan. When their situation and how they got to this very place is explained it is logical and believeable. The fact that you dont have a huge pill to swallow is great. They are not over the top millionaire ladies who flaunt or boast about material things or cash flow. I think that is refreshing nowadays where the fantasy part is just so overdone sometimes, well too much of the time.
The other thing I liked was their friendship. Jolie and Aly share a lot. I really want to go into it, but nah you MUST read it.
I loved the fact that is was what I would call naughty chick lit. The scenes where great and there was a lot of them. It was not overdone and nothing about any red room of pain. I cant really take the overuse of that either. Aly makes no secret to Jolie about how she never had a great sex life with Kyle. That was realistic too. I really want to share my quotes, but the ones I need to share give away plot lines and I really cant do that.
When they get on the cruise ship she meets Mr. Bedroom Eyes. As the promo states "The cruise promises to be memorable in every way that matters."
I loved the debark scenes. Why not stop and shop.
YES I totally loved it and although it was a novella, and I knew that, I wanted more. When you have the absolute perfect blend of fun, friendship, reality and romance, you want more. It was a small serving and I want to make the next one super sized.
To celebrate my review and a great debut I am giving a few copies away.
As always if I like it I want to MAKE you like it too.
I thought Sin at Sea was beautifully written. It flowed nicely. The sex scenes were HOT, but tasteful. The storyline was great and had me fully engrossed. I found some parts quite humorous, and was grinning from ear to ear.
I enjoyed being taken on Alysin and BE's (aka Mr Bedroom Eyes) journey. If was fun, flirtatious and romantic. I found myself wanting Alysin to break her "rules".
If you want something to read that has a great fun story and some super hot lovin' then definitely give Sin at Sea a read. You won't be disappointed! I can't wait to continue Alysin and BE's story in the second installment, Vixen in Vegas.
Sin at Sea is due for publication on June 25, 2013. I was given an Advanced Reading Copy of this book to read and review.
I think this book has alot of potential. At first i was slightly confused about what gender she likes and to admit in fact am still confused for someone who says she is not BI she sure jumps on the vagina train when it comes along..All in all it was a cute quick read and now to wait on the second one..
Don't usually rate books for fellow authors, but I'm so proud of Emma. Way to go! You knocked it out of the ballpark with a full count and bases loaded...bottom of the ninth.
Have you ever been cheated on? Well, I have just once back in the day, and I only wish I could have read Sin at Sea and had the hilarious, yet classy response that Alysin had. Alysin .... whose name is so fitting with the nature of this book and not by coincidence (AlySIN)... is a woman in her twenties who has no ties to anything or anyone except maybe her best friend Jolie. Both of these ladies live by the rules of "Never Settle and Never Settle Down." They are constantly on the move with a map of possible places to live, as their jobs allow them the freedom to up and move without ever being grounded. So, when Alysin catches her no-good, two-timing, unfulfilling, poor excuse for a boyfriend banging his secretary on the conference room table, she decides it's time for another move to a new location, but not before taking a week-long vacation on a cruise.
Now, I knew that Sin at Sea was an erotica novella before reading it, and I've read erotica plenty of times before so no big deal, right? Ha! I was certainly in for a surprise when I began reading. Emma Nichols holds no punches back when she decides to debut a novel in the erotica genre. I was shocked when I first started reading about the pre-cruise ... ahem ... relaxation techniques (for lack of a better phrase) in that Jolie and Alysin partake. :blushes: ← I'm sure that's what my face looked like, because it was certainly heated. There was no special warning to what I was going to encounter. And then the heat kicked up even more once the cruise got started! Aye Yai Yai!! *clears throat*
Once Jolie and Alysin finally embark, Alysin is immediately hit on by a d-bag, so she immediately notices a very handsome man and runs to him for rescue from the d-bag, asking him to just play along. Well, one thing leads to another and both wind up playing fake husband and wife for the week to ward off any potential d-bag picker uppers that might harass Alysin. However, there are a few rules: 1. Don't exchange names or contact information, and 2. Don't fall in love. Well, you can see where this is going, right?
I don't want to give anything away, but I will say that there is a love story to be had in the midst of all the heat wave in Sin at Sea. Emma Nichols truly has a sense of humor and it is captured in Alysin's character. Alysin is confident, cocky, and has no problem with her self-image; but she has never really had relations with anyone who could really warm her oven, much less fill it. Hence the reason she isn't so torn up about the breakup with her former boyfriend of two years, Kyle. Alysin had gumption. She could easily play the game of being wife to a stranger, who is only known as Mr. BE (Mr. Bedroom Eyes), and enjoy the sex for what it was. What she never expected was an attachment of their two hearts.
Mr. BE is a very mysterious man. There isn't a lot that we learn about this character except that he's game, he's rich, he's generous, and he's open to anything sexual. Alysin seemed to be the teacher and Mr. BE was the learner in this game of sexual frolicking. I have an inkling that there's something going on with Mr. BE, but I'm not really sure at this point. I dunno....maybe we'll find out more when Vixen in Vegas releases in August. I will say that I had a problem with the unprotected sex with a stranger piece in this novella, but given it's all fiction and fun....I can deal with it.
Sin at Sea is a very different novella. Whereas most erotica novels will contain one or maybe two types of sexual scenes, Sin at Sea gives you three....count 'em, THREE! :blushes: ← again! Be warned: this novel contains F/F, F/M/F, and F/M/F/M (two of the three were completely new to me). The scenes are well-written and the confident humor in Alysin's character comes through in the short, quick sentences....sentences that are like a mirror of Alysin's lifestyle. While Sin at Sea is very heated in erotica during the first half of the book, the second half really focuses on the romance portion of the story. There is still a high degree of heat in the second half, but the focus is more on the growing affection between Mr. BE and Alysin. Being a novella, there are fewer words in which to tell a story. I would really have liked to have read this story as a full novel, because I felt as though I was missing a few pieces in between scenes that would have helped me connect a little better to the story. I am left with several questions about Mr. BE (as it was intended by the author), and there is a mini cliffhanger that will lead you into the next installment in the series, but not so much of a cliffy that you want to hurl your Kindle toward an innocent bystander. Emma Nichols has done well in writing a debut novel in a very difficult genre to write, and I enjoyed my cruise with Alysin and Mr. BE. Unfortunately, the week of cruising is over, but the story isn't. There's more to read of these two characters, along with Jolie and whatever is in store for her in this madcap mix of characters, fun, and sweltering heat as the story moves on to the heat of the desert in Vixen in Vegas.
Sin at Sea brought me back to my Carnival Cruise that I went on with the hubs, we even ported out of Charleston, SC but on my cruise there was no mystery man and def. not all the hotness that went on in this story.

I easily give this book 5 stars! I don't normally give a 5 star rating unless I am so hooked on a story that I cannot put my kindle down.. This was that story!!
I thought the story line flowed flawlessly! From the beginning we learn that Alysin and Jolie have a past that has turned them into digital nomads.. They live where they want, for however long they want.. But when one of them says go, they pack up and relocate.. Starting over somewhere else.. Alysin is a force to be messed with and when her boyfriend is caught cheating she says her piece and then makes the call to relocate "Hey, I'm a class act. I don't throw punches. I don't throw fits. And I don't give second chances. I'm done. On to regrouping."-Alysin
They decide a cruise would be the perfect place to regroup. They have this saying, Never settle down and never settle. A short chain of events lands her right in the arms of Mr.BE (Mr. Bedroom Eyes). They make an agreement to spend one week as husband and wife. She's hesitant at first but goes along with it. After 7 days with the perfect stranger, she starts to rethink some of her life rules. Not ready to Completely let go of each other, they agree to meet for one more week but In Vegas this time.. She starts to analyze everything about her and Jolie's lifestyle All the while MR. BE is hiding his own demons.. I can't wait to see what happens in Vegas!!!
Emma Nichols had a way of adding all the right ingredients for a wonderful story. It was sexy but loving at the same time.. Sin at Sea became my obsession!! I would highly recommend this book!!
Here are a couple of my favorite lines from Sin at Sea:"Panties or completely naked? Jolie asked, wondering what our dress code was. She smiled at me slyly. Jolie was dying to break in my bi-bone."
"Then I saw him. He had those classic good looks, pretty without looking feminine, a strong jaw, beautiful feel blue eyes, and rich brown hair that was thick and begged to be touched. More importantly, he didn't have a wedding ring."
"...you must be what viagra is made of."-Mr.BE
"Just so you know, I'm strictly a taco girl. I have tried sausage, but its not for me."-Jolie
"So you broke your rules?" Jolie asked with an approving smile. "Not yet." I said. "I will in Vegas. That's the kind of town where rules are meant to be broken."-Alysin
Erotically HOT!!! Perfect summer reading! A take-me-to-the-beach-and-leave-me-alone-with-my-book read.
A self-claimed "runner" Alysin runs from all sorts of uncomfortable situations.
"I'm a runner. Not an actual runner, like with shoes and sweat. Instead, I specialize in leaving uncomfortable situations with alarming speed. Some people need closure; I need space."
For example like the situation she found herself in when she discovered her sorry boyfriend cheating on her with his secretary. With the help from her partner in crime, her best friend Jolie, they decide a re-group is in order. They make the decision to go on a cruise until they can decide their next move.
Before the boat even leaves the dock, Alysin is hit on by a guy. To rid herself of her unwanted suitor, Alysin enlist the help of Mr. Bedroom Eyes (that's what she calls him) to "play along" and pretend to be her husband.
"Listen, you can tell me your name, but I'm just going to forget it. I'm lousy with names." "Okay, so we're not exchanging names? Is there anything you would like to exchange?" He smirked. "Yes, as a matter of fact. How about bodily fluids?"
Alysin doesn't mess around she says what she wants and makes no apologies for it. I loved that about her.
Mr. Bedroom Eyes ups the ante and asks Alysin to marry him for the week. (Ring and all!!!)
His stipulations: *Fluid exchange as she so delicately put it. Anytime he wants for as many times he wants without the fear of headaches, or claims of Aunt Flo visiting. *but he wants the boring stuff about marriage too. Watch sunsets, watch movies, eat dinner, dance, grab drinks he wants it all!
Swoon!
Her stipulations: *No names *No phone numbers *No emails *Just enjoy the week *A promise that Mr. BE won't fall in love with her and she won't fall in love with him.
Her motto of never settle and never settle down will get tested in the during the week she spends with Mr. BE at sea.
When Alysin experiences an amazing week will promises and mottos be broken by the end of the week?
Make sure you read this novella, you won't be disappointed.

I received a kindle version of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This novel is about a strong girl that is an expert at running away. Every girl has had that moment when something goes terribly wrong and you just want a fresh start. Well Asylin has a fresh start whenever she feels she needs it. I loved this strong and cool attitude she has. She is able to say bye to a jerk that cheated on her after being her bf for 2 years. Many girls would have cried or hit him but she just make him feel as if he was worth nothing, which he does since he is a cheating idiot. Anyway, Asylin goes on a cruise with her bestie Jolie and decided to enjoy it, relax and plan their next move but things NEVER goes as planned. In the cruise she meets a handsome, intelligent, funny, sweet, naughty, chivalrous man that make her life as a nomad and his soooo difficult.
They though that a week of pretending a marriage would not only protect her for unwanted males but that it would exactly what they both need: sex, fun and caring. In this part I have to say that I did not enjoy the idea of sharing partners. I felt that he was really in love with her, I still think that way, and that he did not want to have a threesome but he just did it because she wanted. Like he said on the book: marriage is sacred. Even if it is fake ;) I also did not liked much that she wanted to have sex almost all the time but I understand she wanted not to get too attached to him in order to keep her heart safe. He on the other hand seems to want to break any and every rule to stay with her.
I have to say I loved this character, Mr. BE (Asylin name him like that since she wanted a no personal info relationship) he was the perfect man. He was sweet, caring, handsome, chivalrous...he didnt just want her because of her body but because he liked her personality as well. He didnt wanted just a sexual relationship but the sweet and caring stuff that involves dating. He wanted to make every day they spent together perfect.
I cant wait for the next book to know what happened to them. I wonder if there is gonna be a happy ending or just more chasing LOL well they are a crazy couple so I anticipate that they would give each other quite a lot of trouble and headaches.
Where to begin... this novella totally blew my mind; I expected anything but this from a debut novel!! Emma's short but extremely erotic story was one of the best novellas I've ever read and I've read plenty!! She basically pulled out every erotic fantasy that's out there and I LOVED it -Emma, hands down. Despite being a short novella there was nothing left wondering or doubting; for me the story felt complete. I can say I'm looking impatiently forward to read Emma's second book Vixen in Vegas , and her other book Sweet Revenge (Sweet Trilogy #1) is already on my to-be-read list.
It is every woman's nightmare to catch their husband/boyfriend cheat, especially while being all sweet wanting to surprise him with dinner at his workplace. Exactly that happend to Alysin. Therefore, she left her douche of boyfriend and got on a cruise vacation with her best friend Jolie to figure out where to move next. While keeping to there promise to never settle or settle down, Jolie meets Mr Bedroom Eyes. Will he make her break her own rules -for him? Them? Or will he just end as one of her many vacation adventures?
Find out for yourself; all I can say is you will fall is love with Mr Bedroom Eyes and want one of your own (I do). Emma Nichols made just another new fan, me, and I'm sure everyone that reads her erotic story will feel the same. It was pure joy to read, and yeah it makes your body temperatur rise for sure, so keep something cool close by. I recommend Emma's novella to everyone that is into some decent erotica, loves to forget their own reality to enjoy reading about two people sharing their desires without regrets!
Sin at Sea...let's start by saying Erotica is totally not a genre that I normally read. However, I wanted to read this book. You see the Emma is a great friend, and I totally wanted to see how this book would turn out. WOW! I can tell you that despite being a bit uncomfortable with some of the sex scenes..I loved this book. Emma had a great story that kept me in anticipation throughout. When Alysin takes lunch to her boyfriend Kyle, and finds him cheating on her IN HIS OFFICE!! she calls her BFF Jolie and says, it's time to go. You see, Alysin and Jolie are entrepreneurs who can work from wherever they are..so they pack their bags and hit the road. They decided that a cruise may be just the ticket. So on they go...Now Alysin is into guys, and Jolie..well she isn't, and Jolie decided that Alysin needed a fresh new veiwpoint. Steamy sex scene, then Alysin leaves to go have dinner at the buffet, where hottie "Mr. Bedroom Eyes"..BE for short, rescues her from a nerdy ass who was hitting on her. They find that they like each other and decide to spend the next week together, no names, no info exchange, nothing that will make them want more when the cruise is over and they both have to go their separate ways. Do they have a good time? Well, teehee...you'll have to read it for yourself to find out! Loved this book, and I CAN'T wait to read Vixen in Vegas!
Well, this was totally unexpected! I was looking for a short in-between book and noticed I had downloaded this one over a year ago.
Was not expecting the F/F or F/F/M interaction in this book, but it was seriously HOT! Haha!
The heroine was running from her cheating fiancé with her girlfriend by taking a cruise and starting their lives over! When she meets a handsome man on board, they make a deal, no names, no phone numbers, no contact info, just a week of fun in the sun acting as a married newlywed couple! Their connection was sweet and yes, obviously, HOT! By the end of the cruise, they both realized they had a connection, and they wanted more. I did not realize there is a follow-up to this one, and although there was not really a cliffhanger......it definitely left me wanting to know more of what would happen between these two!!!
If you are looking for a great and sexy book, you have to check out Emma Nichols' debut novel. Alysin finds herself on a cruise with her best friend trying to escape from men. They are considered nomads because they never like to stay in one place long, so they decide the cruise will spice up their life a little. And, spice it up it does. Alysin meets Mr. Bedroom Eyes (aka Mr. BE) and plan nothing but a week of fun. Mr. BE is sexy and wants nothing but a good time as well. Their connection is out of this world!! I am really impressed with Emma and I hope that everyone who likes a good hot romance will read this. Add this to your TBR list!! I cannot wait to read more from this author.
I enjoyed this light, steamy novella. Alysin and her best friend, Jolie, live a very different life from most of us. They have no strings holding them down to anyone or anywhere. When Alysin decides to take a cruise before their next move she meets Mr. Bedroom Eyes or BE. This story is about their hot adventure together on the cruise. Alysin is definitely not your typical heroine and is not afraid to go after what she wants. I really liked this about her. BE was swoon worthy and hot as hell, too. If you are looking for a quick, hot read this is a great and different read. Looking forward to her next adventure :)
I was given an ARC by the author for an honest review.
Emma Nichols novella is a good poolside read and just a great read in general. It flows nicely and you quickly fall into the story and are wanting to know what's going to happen next with Alysin and Me. BE.
Alysin runs and does it in style. While running from her most recent what's his name, she finds Mr. BE. They are living for the next 7 days no strings attached. Or are they?
Emma has done a fabulous job with her first book. It is a quick read, an erotica story and while the sex scenes are steamy it's not hard-core. Emma leaves you wanting more. I am anxious to see what happens with Mr. BE next.
i absolutly loved this book..i was one of the lucky few that was able to beta read sin at sea by emma nichols.. and i will be re-reading it again and again as it had everything i like in a book.. romance.. sex (hot steamy sex) sassy ness.. put it this way i would of loved to be Alysin.. who wouldnt want the sun... sea... a very hot guy... great sex... and no strings attached (or was there)..... you will have to read it and find out for yourself :D happy reading
Let me just say, after reading this book, I need a hot and sexy cruise of my own!! Sin at Sea is a heartbreaking, soul mending, erotic adventure. Alysin catches her boyfriend having sex with his secretary so she decides to run, or in her words she needs space. When Alysin, also known as Sin, runs she runs with her best friend Jolie. To decide where to run to they embark on a cruise for some relaxation. Little did Alysin know this cruise is going to rock her world. There are rules to Alysin's running lifestyle, but what happens when she starts breaking rules? Emma Nichols has truly captured me with this book. It was love at first paragraph! Hearing and seeing everything through Alysin has put me right in her shoes. With Alysin's story there is no dull moment. Even the "boring" moments will have you saying aww. I cannot possibly get enough of Alysin's story, I need more!! 5/5 from Alyssa
AUTHOR INTERVIEW
What sparked your interest in becoming a romance writer? I often joke that I became a writer of romance and erotica because it was the best way for me to parlay my passions into a career. What was the first romance novel you read that made an impression on you? When I was really young, I read The Thornbirds. It was the naughtiest book I could imagine. I remember thinking that I needed to be able to write like that. So, that’s what I try to do.
Tell us 5 surprising things about yourself. 1. I have a tattoo. 2. I want more…small, sexy, meaningful. 3. My palate has really become more sophisticated…as evidenced by my love of sushi and asparagus…sometimes even together. 4. I think cruising is the only way to travel. 5. For someone so intrigued by sex, I didn’t lose my virginity for a really long time.
One of your favorite quotes. By Mae West: You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.
Which authors have caught your interest lately? Why? Hmmm. In the author groups, I’m finding ones that I try to emulate, that I admire for their skill and their abilities. JB McGee has a new book coming out,,,Skipping Stones. I’ve been able to beta that a bit. And Brandy Dorsch is an aspiring writer who has an interesting looking paranormal romance coming out soon. What type of book have you always wanted to write? It has taken me forever, but Sin at Sea is the kind of book I always wanted to be brave enough to write. There is something so liberating about not worrying over pushing the envelope. At the same time, I think while writing something very erotic, I kept it classy. That’s important. Even my smut has a story, Who are your dream dinner party guests? If I could have anyone come to my parties…Channing Tatum…oh hell, the entire cast of Magic Mike. Ummm…I don’t really think I’d need to invite anyone else…at all. We’ll keep it nice and intimate.
How did you get the idea for this particular novel? My goal was to write this great beach read. It kind of forced me to go through with it, get it published for summer. I took everything that I loved about summer…the water, the beaches, the travel, vacations, hot guys, and sexy times. There are a lot of my own personal experiences in it.
What is your favorite scene in your new release? I love where they meet, how they meet, their interaction. Yes, Alysin and Mr. Bedroom Eyes have chemistry from the start.
If you could be one of your characters - Who would you be? And why? I would love to be Alysin, so supremely confident, so independent. She speaks her mind. She’s very worldly. She’s tough.
Wow, where should one start with this absolutely steamy novella....This book had so much more than I expected and a lot more than I had expected.
Alysin and Jolie have been best friends since high school. They have lived the last decade working from their homes allowing them to travel when and where they wish. Both of them living simple daily lives allowing them to afford such luxuries of traveling the world and moving when they felt it was time to go. They would settle in different places and when they were ready to move on that is what they did. While living in their current residence, Alysin had been dating the same guy for a while. One night she decided to surprise him at work with dinner but instead she got the surprise and walked in on him having sex with his secretary. So like always when things got uncomfortable, Alysin and Jolie run. This is what the BFF's would do....run....
"I am a runner. Not an actual runner, like with shoes and sweat. Instead, I specialize in leaving uncomfortable situations with alarming speed."
When Alysin or Jolie needed to run they ran together. This was their pact they have had since high school. To live for the moment with no regrets and to not get attached to anyone or anything. So they decide to pack a bag and take a trip to 'regroup' and decide where to move next. So their 'regrouping' trip is a cruise. As they set sail, Alysin decides to go for some food while Jolie would rather sleep. While Alysin is trying to enjoy her lunch, she is approached by a man who tries to pick her up but she has no interest until Mr. Bedroom Eyes (Mr. BE) approaches and pretends to be her husband with her encouragement. This is all it took for the other guy to walk away. But not Mr. BE......Alysin and Mr. BE's attraction is instant.....so to continue the charade, he offers her an arrangement to enjoy each other for 7 days. Both agree to keep their personal information anonymous while spending 7 days enjoying each other with no strings. How perfect! Alysin decided this would be perfect to help her forget the ex-boyfriend. But what she didn't expect was to totally fall for her 'pretend' husband.
"Now...he slept..when I wanted mother more than for him to be awake. Would you believe that it wasn't for sex? Nope. I wanted to talk. This guy was killing me."
Mr. BE ends up being everything "ANY" woman could dream of and so much more. After seven HOT, SINFUL, STEAMY days of sex and fun......their time has come to an end but neither Mr. BE nor Alysin want this to end. So while saying their goodbyes, Mr. BE ask Alysin if she would like to meet up in one week in Vegas? Of course Alysin does.......still, neither of them not knowing each others name set a time and place to meet in Vegas.
Now, we all have to patiently wait for "Vixen in Vegas" to see if Alysin will break her rules for Mr. BE...........
Emma Nichols did such an awesome job bringing each of her characters to life. Even though this was a short read, each character was so well defined and just enough history to bring the story to life. Don't miss out on this novella, it is so well worth it!
When I first picked up this book I expected it to be short, like 20 pages short. I thought I wasn't going to enjoy this book as much as I did when I was approached to join this tour, but I was wrong. I absolutely LOVED this book!!!
From the first moment I was introduced to Alysin I knew I would love her. She's just broke up with her boyfriend Kyle who she found screwing his secretary in the office when she went to surprise him with dinner. She calls up her best friend Jolie and tells her it's time for a vacation. Alysin and Jolie always take vacations together and move to different cities together that's the beauty of their work and lifestyle they never settle and they never settle down. This trip was just suppose to be a week for them both to be lose a carefree but life isn't always that simple is it? Alysin's love life has always been a wreck she's become the queen of faking orgasms and she's a confident woman that knows just exactly how to draw a man in. So when she's sitting at the buffet eating and she's approached by a guy she wants nothing to do with, she spots the perfect man she wants attention from who she quickly names "Mr. Bedroom Eyes" or has she comes to call him Mr. BE. She jumps from the table and pretends that the gentleman is her husband coming to meet her for a meal and he quickly plays along. Alysin isn't looking for love, she wants a fun time with a set of rules which pretty much are summed up to no names, no contact information, and no personal information is to be exchanged.
Mr. BE has some plans of his own. He asks Alysin to pretend to be his fake wife for a week with everything included sex, fun, all the perks of being married, oh and did I mention... sex??? Their relationship is explosive even without knowing anything about one another other than the fact that he can't have kids and that there's nothing to worry about. Everything is going so great for the both of them but as they grow closer and closer during their week and feelings start getting involved can they both get out with their hearts intact?
I don't think I've ever had so much fun reading a book. I finished this book in one afternoon because quite frankly I just couldn't seem to put it down. This book was about Sin At Sea well I can't wait to see what kind of sin Alysin and Mr. BE get into in Vegas. When I finished this book all I could think of was I WANT MORE, I NEED MORE. This book just didn't satisfy my craving for more of these two and I cannot wait to see where their next adventure will lead them and also see what happens with Jolie. Absolutely brilliant debut book from this author, 5 amazing stars!!!
***ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review***
This book surprised me, as it had a lot of erotic sex scenes, F/F; M/F/F; M/F (of course) and M/F/M/F. But oh how good it was! The book follows the life of Alysin and Jolie who have been BFF’s for over 10 years and they live a life of “digital nomads” with nothing tying them down and they are both ready to up sticks at a moments notice and move on.
The book starts with Alysin surprising her boyfriend at work to find him in the middle of “overtime” with his secretary. She goes straight home and packs a bag and leaves and Jolie goes with her. They decide to go on a cruise so that they can make plans as to where they want to live next.
I would love to have a friend like Jolie as she is a wild child at heart but she loves Alysin unconditionally and won’t let anything happen to her. The two of them get up to so much fun and I felt jealous because I want to be like them and let my hair down!
It is on board this cruise liner that she meets “Mr Bedroom Eyes” and after rescuing her from an over affectionate admirer they decide to embark on a week long affair with no ties and no names. They set the ground rules at the beginning and have loads of fun and sex during that time. The question is “Can they stick to the Rules?”
The story is funny, romantic and erotic all wrapped up in one book! I LOVED it! I read it really quickly so had to read it through again and enjoyed it even more the second time. I was slightly disappointed that the story didn’t finish at the end of the book and I have to wait for the next book to come out, HOWEVER, I enjoyed Alysin and Bedroom Eye’s love story so much I’m glad there is another book coming out and I can read about them further.
Emma Nichol’s style of writing is easy to read and funny. She has researched the whole cruise ship vacation, including the places, the people and the foods etc so that as a reader you can just picture yourself being there! She is very descriptive but at the same time the reader is not inundated with information, it is drip fed into the story beautifully!
I would give this book 5 stars as I enjoyed it so much and can’t wait for the next one! I have also recommended this to my friends as a quick, erotic read.
I am now contemplating a cruise holiday to see if Mr Bedroom Eyes is still there ha ha.
Sin at Sea starts out with Alysin wanting to surprise her long time boyfriend at work with an impromptu dinner, and instead is the one that gets the surprise. Yep you guessed it, he's working overtime alright, overtime nailing his secretary to the conference room table. Alysin handles the situation a lot better than I would, but once she leaves she promptly calls her BFF Jolie and tells her it's time to pack up and move on. Alysin and Jolie have been BFF's forever and their jobs as "digital nomads" allows them the freedom to work from anywhere, so when one of them is ready to go, they go. Alysin and Jolie decide to go on a cruise to gather their thoughts and formulate a plan. Once on the cruise ship Alysin is subjected to an unwanted pass and she grabs the first guy she sees and says he's her husband, to thwart the other man. The new man she has picked up wants to keep up the ruse for the duration of the cruise. Alysin agrees only if they don't exchange any info, no names, no emails, no Address, nothing and once the cruise is over they part ways. This novella was a pretty quick read with a lot of hotness. There is F/F, F/F/M, F/M scenes and some people may not like this aspect, the majority of the book was M/F and it didn't bother me or take away from the story in my opinion. The dialog flowed well and the descriptions of the cruise and locations, excursions seemed accurate enough for me to visualize. My only hang up in the book was this, since they didn't exchange names she kept calling him Mr Bedroom Eyes or BE for short. Now you may ask why I was bothered by this. I work in the medical field and a BE is a "barium enema" so every time I read BE all I could think about was an enema. If you don't know what that is, be grateful and don't look it up. Over all I really enjoyed the story and I am looking forward to the next installment of the series.
I'm kind of saddened. This one had so much promise. And in fact, the premise is quite good....I just didn't think the execution was quite there.
Alysin (why would you spell it like this???) and Jolie are BFFs. They live life by one rule only--never settle and never settle down. They are considered digital nomads. They can live and work anywhere....all from the computer. After Alysin catches her boyfriend with his secretary A and J decide it's time to move on.
They embark on a 7 day Caribbean cruise to regroup and pick their next location. On the first night of the cruise, Alysin gets hit on by a creeper and is "saved" by Mr. Bedroom eyes who pretends to be her husband. Alysin and Mr. BE decide to pretend to be married the remainder of the week just enjoying each other. No strings attached....no rules to follow...just lot of sex and fun in the sun. They don't exchange names or contact info and plan to part ways at the end of the week.
Unfortunately, and quite sadly, I just didn't find the sex to be very HOT at all. And it really could have been. A and Mr. BE were both adventurous sexually embarking on a menage and a little public display. As the week ends, A and Mr BEs feelings begin to change and maybe it's meant to be more then just a week fling. Alysin and Jolie also choose their next destination which is Vegas.
This was a standalone of sorts. There wasn't a cliffhanger ending but the story isn't over for Alysin, Jolie and Mr BE. The fun continues in Vegas. I think this was a debut novel so I am willing to give the author another shot by reading the next book in the series. This was a quick short read, with lots of potential. Hopefully the next books in the series will be better executed.
I absolutely loved this book. How can you not? This book has heartbreak, romance, and erotica! First let me start by saying that I love how the main characters, Alyson and Jolie, live their life. How cool would that be? No office, no dress code, move whenever you want, and get to take vacations! I think this book moved really well. There was good focus on the things that mattered and not a whole lot of focus on the things that didn’t. Like Alyson’s ex-boyfriend! WOW! What a jerk! I think the friendship is really strong between Alyson and Jolie. Especially in the beginning! I won’t go into too much detail so not to ruin it, but OMG!! You go girls!! Now to the subject at hand….the awesome, lummy (as in lum lum lum and not yum yum yum) sincerely hot, sincerely erotic, main co-star Mr. Bedroom Eyes!!! LUM LUM LUM!!! (That would be from the drool coming out of my mouth). I can’t possibly imagine someone so sweet, caring, adoring, loving, lummy being my husband for a week!!! I would want to keep him!! I think it is great that neither of them know anything about each other when they decide to become husband and wife for a week. But, I will tell you what! I would not be sharing!!! I loved the story line. On a cruise, checking the scenery, exploring, all with your husband by your side. Who says you need a piece of paper and a vow? LOL. I am really anticipating finding out what happens in Vegas!!! The author touched on some really good things in this story. Independence, trust, friendship, love, and soul mates. Who could have asked for a better story? It was too long or too short. The pace was really good. It was a quick read but a satisfying one!
This book was almost too perfect. Almost nauseatingly perfect. I never found out the name of the leading man. He's always referred to as Mr. BE AKA (Mr. Bed Room Eyes). He was pretty much perfection. Always said & did the right thing at the right time like a fairy tale knight & shining armor that's always there to save the day. What I'm getting at is it was just too perfect to feel believable in some ways.
This whole thing is from the female's POV and I gotta say at many times she sounded cocky. Always going on & on about how much money she has. Or about how she has no responsibilities. And pretty much flawless and can travel at the drop of a dime anytime. That was emphasized a bit too much over and over throughout the story. It got to a point where I felt like okay I get it already! lol Plus also the Female/Female sex scenes I could've done without. I wanted the story to focus more on her & Mr. BE.
It was pretty predictable also. But then again this isn't a full length novel. It wasn't a bad book. But nothing really memorable about it. It was a decent read at best.
What a sexy little number this is. Right off the cuff I knew this was a bedroom book lol.
I like a good Erotica book that has a fab story to go with it. This is the first book written by Emma Nichols and its a must read. With all the sex that goes on in this book, which there is a lot, we go from F/F, M/F/F, and even M/F/M/F plus a lot of hot hot sex from Alysin and Mr Bedroom Eyes.
We start off with Alysin who catches her boyfriend F***ing his secretary, well this it for Alysin, she does what she does, runs, packs her bags and she's off with her BFF Jolie.
Alysin and Jolie have been friends for over 10 years and they both have each others backs, making a pact: "Never Settle and Never Settle Down"
After picking up Jolie they head off into the sunset (You could so see them doing a Thelma & Louise.) They decideto take a cruise, and make a new plan.
Alysin goes off on her own, having to be rescued by sex on legs lol but Alysin calls him Mr Bedroom Eyes, he rescues her from a jerk who just won't take a hint by being her fake husband. But Mr Bedroom Eyes has other ideas and persuades her to carry on with their fake marriage for the rest of the trip.
But can they stick to the rules. Don’t exchange names or contact information, and don't fall in love.!!!
This was a quick and heart racing read that will leave you blushing for hours lol in a good way.
