This is about Trick and Lauren...he's an unwanted soldier and she is stuck in an abusive relationship with a powerful man..she has no one to turn to and he can't turn down the job for some reason..can he save her and can they fight their attraction?!?! You'll have to read to find out but I promise you won't be disappointed!! Amazing action and steam, keeps you guessing all the way through. Great characters and looking forward to more!!

I have enjoyed all of Aden's MC books and was really excited to read this book since it's different from his other MC stories. I really liked the military and political theme. Trick fit the mold of the ideal military/missionary for hire character. In fact, all of the characters were developed well and the story just kept you wanting to read more. I loved the HEA for Trick and Lauren. I can only hope Aden does more Military Romance books. Great job!

What a pleasant surprise for me, and am so glad this book came my way, not that I do not like reading stories like this one, but to be honest it never crossed my mind, well am glad I came across the book.
Upon his return from the latest mission All trick want to do is rest, but a unexpected visitor derails all his plans.
His newest mission will be to rescue Lauren Johnson from a abusive relationship with none other the Senator Richardson who is a Presidential Candidate and a US Senator.
Coming home from a mission in the desert, all I want is sleep. A visitor derails that plan with a file and a new mission: rescue Lauren Johnson from the abusive Presidential Candidate/US Senator Jared Richardson.
Lauren has attracted me as no other woman has, her picture left me powerless to turn this mission down. And this one might have the highest stakes in it for me.
Lauren could be the next First Lady but as the campaign is starting to heat up her Fiance is under more stress and is lashing out on her. Everyone looks the other way as its not happening. Her face is plastered everywhere, her Family and friends have been pushed away, basically she is alone, with a man who is abusing her.

The attraction is immediate, and mission becomes steamy in no time flat, paired with action, intensity, and surprises around every turn.

Fast paced, action packed story full of craving and desire. This book had everything and it certainly had my adrenaline going.
I loved the characters, and all the secondary and background characters that flanked Lauren and Trick. Though I wished the story was longer and maybe a little disappointed that there wasn't even the slightest backlash from everything, I still thoroughly enjoyed swearing at my kindle throughout.
Trick is hot but infuriatingly frustrating, yet you can't help but fall in love with. Lauren is a sweet woman, innocent and naive but her and Trick balance each other out.
Loved the ending, it brought a slight tear to my eye. Aden is an astounding author with an unlimited amount of words and his books will always be awesome... I have no doubt on that, each one gets better and better.

Target is a great book, I loved it! I could not put this book down once I started.
I read it in one day. Trick is part of the unwanted soldiers who mission was to talk Lauren into leaving her abusive fieancee who is the Senator. This is a wonderful story and you will have to read it to find out more. You won't be dissapointed. Aden Lowe did a fantastic job at writing this book and I look forward to the next one!

This was the first book I have read by Aden Lowe; I absolutely loved it and I will definitely be reading more from him. Once I started reading this book I could not put it down.
Trick is a mercenary for hire. The family of Lauren Johnson seeks him out to help rescue her from her finance and abuser Senator Jared Richardson.
Lauren doesn’t recognize that she is being abused and is willing to help her fiancé Senator Jared Richardson with campaigning all the way to the White House.
As soon as Trick and Lauren meet, the chemistry between them is obvious. Life for the two of them will never be the same again! This book is packed with action and suspense, with just a touch of mystery as you just never knew who or what was coming around the corner!
I will definitely be recommending this for a read.

A great read from Aden Lowe! When Trick's life in the military is ended in the blink of an eye and he is left being a part of the Unwanted Soldiers he reigned himself to waiting for the next job and meaningless hook-ups. When he takes accepts his latest assignment the last thing he would expect is finding the one woman who would challenge is loner lifestyle, but that's just what he finds when he sees the picture of his next target, Lauren. Lauren is the fiance of a senator and lives a that is a balancing act of trying not to upset said senator. When her sister hires Trick to rescue her her life will change forever, if they survive everything thrown at them. A senator who thinks he's untouchable meets his match in Trick and the two men he trusts in the Unwanted Soldiers. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

I was unsure about this book in the beginning because I usually stick to female authors who write Military Romance. But I was blown away by the writing its similar to the other authors I read so I gave it a chance and I can say now that I loved every moment of it. The characters connected well, loved the chemistry between Trick and Lauren. Looking forward to hearing more from this author will be checking out his other books I haven't had a chance to read yet

Great story
Enjoyed reading this story. It hit some real issues. The only thing I would say negative is some of the writing technique was a tad bit elementary. Hopefully the next one will be better. I can't wait to hear flags story!!

Loved this book. What appealed to me was the reality of the main females character. The story flowed smoothly and had you needing to find out what happened. I definitely recommend this book and this author.

OMFG Aden you have once again knocked me out of my socks... This is the first book in the Unwanted Soldiers series and is Trick and Lauren's story. Please be aware this book deals with domestic violence and may be an issue for some, but the Aden does do the story and the subject justice. I will say while reading I wanted to put my hands inside my kindle and smack Lauren a few times but I also wanted to just hug her and help her, but I most definitely wanted to punch/kick Jarod in his junk, maybe even shot him :), he deserves that and so much more...
Any who lets move on why I loved Target even though I NEEDED more and I still need more, I'm being a greedy reader. Basically Lauren's sister wants to get her away from Jared Richardson who is currently a Senator who wants to be President and he needs Lauren to help him with this. However her sister knows what kind a sh*tbag he is and is willing to pay Trick anything to get her sister away from Jared the sh*tbag and back home. Trick takes the case and swoops in to save the day all while falling in love with her. Trick does what he needs to do to protect Lauren and get her away from Jared. Of course Trick makes some mistakes, but what would a romance book be with out some angst... Along the way some people get killed, some get what is coming to them and some fall in love and get a happy ever after.
While I know I'm not the writer, I would have loved to have gotten a little more backstory on how and why Trick and the other Unwanted Soldiers were discharged from the military and put in a program. I'm hoping just maybe you will dive into more details about why this happened to this group of men and maybe a little more about each man in future books (Pretty Please give us more on this). Even though it was missing the backstory I so wanted, I'm still giving it 5 stars, I could not stop reading once I started, the only thing that stopped me was I actually fell asleep with my Kindle in my hands and woke up to it being on the floor beside my bed- Target is that good and I look forward to getting more about Trick, Lauren and the rest of the Unwanted Soldiers in future books. Thank you so Much Aden for writing such fantastic books and for letting my have the honor of reading before you released and you only want a honest review for the honor. I will be right along with everyone else on August 9 one clicking this book, so I can get all of the stuff that is to be added at time of publication. Again thank you so much Aden. An intense, action packed, romantic suspense that is a MUST read! This book pulled me in right from the start with it's unique storyline, interesting characters, and a slow building romance that at first is forbidden, but at the end will take your breath away. The secrets and lies, abuse, betrayal, intriguing twists, action, violence, and suspenseful situations that will keep you on the edge of your seat. A fantastic book, and a great beginning to what is going to be an awesome series!
Trick is trying to live his life the only way he knows how since he, and others like him, were forced into becoming part of the Unwanted Soldiers. When he's approached by the sister of his newest target, he knows that this is going to be different from the start. Lauren is a small town girl at heart, and fell in love when the guy she was dating, now her unofficial fiancée. Little did she know that it would be her biggest nightmare.
When Trick shows up on her increased security detail, they hit it off right from the start, but she has no idea why he's really there. When the threats and deaths increase around her, he knows that there is another threat and will do anything to keep her safe. Will she ever see the truth about her fiancée? Target is a book that draws you in from the very beginning and makes it difficult to put the book down. Trick after serving his country, is given a new set of credentials to begin his life in a new place. However, he is required to be a mercenary in a group of Unwanted Soldiers and to be available when he is called upon.
Lauren is the girlfriend of Jared, a politician who is seeking the nomination to become the next President. Lauren in Jared's eyes is supposed to play the part of the dutiful girlfriend, being that of a trophy girlfriend, as opposed to herself.
In the beginning of their relationship, Jared seemed to be a sweet and attentive boyfriend but as time went on his demeanor changed. He became verbally and physically abusive to Lauren but would apologize to her making her feel like it was her fault for the abuse. He forced her to isolate herself from her friends and family.
Lauren's sister seeks Trick out to help get her sister away from Jared. The job that is asked of him is not his typical type of mission. But Trick looks at all of the information in the file that her sister gives to him. There seems to be something in Lauren's eyes, in the pictures of her that are in the file, calling to him. Trick has never been invested in a target like he is in Lauren.
I recommend you read Trick and Lauren's story as to how and if Trick is successful in removing Lauren from the abusive Jared. Jared is well connected and an influential adversary for Trick. Will the impending engagement of Lauren and Jared, come about or will she wise up and realize that Jared the leopard is never going to change his spots? If she stays with him things will only get worse for her. This book is an awesome read and I am looking forward to Book 2!

I have read a few other books by Aden, and love them all. Aden creates a chaotic / thrilling story and ties in a love story.
In this story, Target, the main character our hero - Trick, is a special forces military member, whose team gets cut from the military. They are now turned out into society to work when the phone call comes. Trick is asked to help rescue a woman's sister, Lauren who is dating / engaged to a Senator running for office. However, the sister realizes through other's that Lauren is being hurt, the Senator is abusing her.

Trick doesn't want to admit his feelings towards her, since he's never had these feelings before. Trick is worried about his future and what may happen down the road. Trick tries to push her away, hurting her deeply.
Will Trick be able to come around and face his feelings for her? Will Lauren be ok to love again and trust Trick not to hurt her?
I have read a few other books by Aden, and love them all. Aden creates a chaotic / thrilling story and ties in a love story.

This book was powerful. Aden Lowe wrote a story about a subject that isn’t all that talked about, and moreover, made the antagonist someone who felt he was untouchable. He captured the mindset of a victim and how they often felt that they could love them better or it was just a phase. None the less, Lauren got out and found love with a man that would protect her. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and cannot wait to see what the next book holds. Trick was a very well written character that started off as a bit of a dick (For very good reason) and showed that there is good out there for people if you just look hard enough. He fought to save a woman he never met and in the end found love and a family. He felt he could never give anyone a future and Lauren proved him wrong. While she thought she could love Jared better, or that she had no way out because of lost connections, Trick proved her wrong. He showed her that she could get out, and take down the man that threatened to kill her in the end. Lowe’s book is a hard one to digest, but as a survivor, it made me feel good to know that someone was helping to push the idea that abuse is never ok. Being that this is a male author just makes that even more powerful to me. He showed the darker side of abuse, even if there wasn’t anything too graphic, and proved that no one is above the law. While there is still a long way to go for change, he helped push the conversation along and even gave ways to help victims if needed. I hope others read this book and understand that abuse is nothing to ignore. I also hope this will make the conversations on abuse more powerful and we can start looking at how to help and protect abuse victims, both male and female.

This is a new series about ex-military mercenaries called Unwanted Soldiers. Book 1 focuses on Trick and can be read as a stand-alone. Trick takes a job to rescue Lauren Johnson from her fiancé Senator Jared Richardson.
Lauren is in line to become the next First Lady….one small problem….the relationship between her and Jared is anything but HEA material. He is abusive and controlling and keeps her isolated from any friends and family. With his status and power everyone looks the other way and she even believes it’s just the stress and tries to convince herself that things will be better once the campaign is over. When there is a new threat against her, and Trick is assigned to protect her, will he be able to get her to find a way out?
I really liked Trick, he was the perfect strong alpha military guy of your dreams. On the other hand, I’m on the fence with Lauren. She was written as weak since she put up with all the abuse, but she does seem to have an inner strength, but will there be any left once Jared is done with her. She realizes that she wants out, but will Trick be there for her if she leaves the senator? There are some unexpected twists and a few puzzling moments, but overall, I liked Trick and his friends, Flag and X man, and can’t wait to see who is featured in the next book.

This was a very entertaining and kept you on the edge of your seat story. I loved being in the mind of Trick. Trick is approached by Lauren's sister to help her get her sister back. Lauren is in an abusive relationship with a man who is hoping to run for President of the U.S. This is not a normal job to Trick but when he looks at the pictures of Lauren, he is pulled.
Lauren has gotten herself into a terrible relationship and doesn't see a way out. She drove me crazy with the 'I'm not a quitter' speech to herself when it came to her relationship with the Senator. Seriously, you are covering bruises with make up and you are staying so he isn't looked at badly. I understand woman do feel this way and think this way but coming from a household that this was seen, I kept thinking there's gotta be a way out.
Trick helps Lauren while on her assignment. We find out that people really are dirty. People really don't care about others as long as they are getting their way. The Senator absolutely disgusted me.
I was thankful when Lauren's eyes opened and she saw Trick in front of her. She saw the man that would treat her like the Queen she is.
Aden as always draws you in and takes you on a ride with these characters. He creates a story that you can relate to and want to help with. He does a great job not getting too technical with the military side but also allowing us to see the way things can be thought out. Looking forward to reading more from him.

Where to start.... Aden Lowe * claps* well done. Being new to Aden's work I headed in blindly to what laid ahead. Target gives you all the variables from beginning to end.
From the start you meet the main man Trick, who screams masculine vibes right away. His career moves swiftly gearing for the main event of this story.
Trick is everything Military, with a sudden change into now becoming an Unwanted Soldier, leaving some bitter vibes. Unable to fight this change, he must now be an unwanted. For those with this title they are thrown bones (jobs) of all kinds. Some who take the job do not always return... This is now a fight or die type lifestyle.
With the new title comes a new job to this unwanted soldier, it gives him an unusual task that grabs ahold of Trick like a pin in a grenade. Pull the pin risk death, or hang on and see how this challenge unfolds. This particular job is a request to retrieve a sister's loved one Lauren, from the devil. But this devil plays his own game, one being that he is a US Senator with secrets.
Lauren caught in the snare of the devil, Trick caught in unusual job of retrieving the Target. A story with action, tension, suspense, heat, some trigger like moments that pulls at your soul. As well as a handful of characters you want to know more about.
Target keeps you going at a steady pace, with all elements of good and bad being spot on. Very enjoyable and engaging read. Looking forward to the next installment.

Loving the Unwanted
Okay so I started this story and actually walked away from it to read three other stories in between. Unfortunately that for me made this a 4 star. The other reasons were typo errors that were noticeable. One chapter was titled Lauren but it was clearly from Trick's POV. Also the main story ended at 51%. About 25% through, I thought this would be near the end. Well I was right in my assumption since it was technically halfway through. There is another story at 52% that isn't related to Unwanted Soldiers. I honestly didn't read it because I mainly wanted to read this story.
Okay so about the book. Once it picked up I enjoyed it. There were some things that happened that weren't a surprise but it was okay that I guessed. This wasn't instalove but quick love. Which is okay and the timeline moved so it wasn't completely unrealistic.
Lauren - she's actually a smart girl that landed in a bad situation. How she handled herself in the story followed along with what was happening to her. I like how she overcame her fears.
Trick - definitely your alpha man. He was written well. A little dense but that played to who he was. I would've liked a bit more about how things managed for his profession at the end but that might come in book 2.
There was some humor offered by his friends which helped break some tension. I'm on the fence if I'll get book 2 but not a bad read.

Aden's books get better and better. I couldn't put it down and read it in one day!!!! Trick and Lauren captivated me from the beginning.
Trick is part of an elite group of "soldiers" who have banned together to take on missions that are too dangerous or have a low success rate. They are assigned the title of Unwanted Soldiers and have a handler who assigns their missions. Then Trick gets blindsided with a mission that he just couldn't say no to.
Lauren who is the "fiancé" of Senator/ Presidential Candidate Jared Richardson, whose family wants her away from the senator ASAP because he is abusing her and has cut her off from all of her family and friends. As the election heats up Jared Richardson becomes more and more physical abusive with Lauren. Lauren's only reprieve is Trick, who is on the mission as Lauren's personal bodyguard. He steps in numerous times before the senator can really harm Lauren.
Trick and Lauren have this chemistry from the moment they meet. He tries to play at being unaffected by Lauren, and he succeeds because she doesn't know where she stands with him. When Lauren has the strength to finally end it with Senator Richardson he doesn't want to let her go because he needs her to further his political aspirations. Will Trick and Lauren be discovered in their plot to take the senator down?

Aden Lowe is a truly talented author. His new book shows that he can write different genres. This book was the first in his new series, The Unwanted Soldiers. Not a MC to be found. It was a wonderful read, one that I highly recommend. Well done Aden, another fantastic story. You started falling in love with the unwanted soldier from page 1.
Trick, is a member of the unwanted soldiers. He is hired by the targets family to get her away from her abusive boyfriend. Seems straight forward enough..... wrong. The target's boyfriend is a senator running for the White House. Trick knows he should walk away from this job, but the picture of his target haunts him.

I was fortunate to receive an ARC of this book, and absolutely loved it. This was a slightly different style to his usual, but Aden Lowe is an automatic one click author for me (a huge Hell Raiders fan) and Target certainly didn't disappoint. The storyline was gripping, the characters so real. Unwanted Soldiers, a band of elite men doing secret and highly dangerous missions that nobody else could do. Trick was given the mission to rescue Lauren from her abusive relationship with Presidential candidate, Senator Richardson. The chemistry between Trick and Lauren jumped from the pages as he tried to shield her and keep her safe. Add Flag and X Man, the only people Trick could trust and who came along to help and the mix was explosive. The camaraderie between the three men was brilliant with lots of great touches of humour. But the main story lies with Trick and Lauren. Would she be brave enough to stand up to the Senator? Could the 'Soldiers' pull off their elaborate plan? Could Trick see a life with Lauren or will he walk away knowing there is no future for her in his demanding life? A brilliant read, one that I would highly recommend.

Target is raw, full of suspense, action packed, but also about healing, forgiveness, and ultimately love. Aden has you on the edge of your seat from word one!
Trick is an unwanted soldier who's next case is to remove Lauren from an abusive relationship from a very powerful man, Senator Jared Richardson. Lauren was suppose to be a target not a woman who Trick would ultimately do anything for. Lauren has no one in her life. Everyone has been pushed away. Trick becomes Lauren's bodyguard. He puts himself in harms way to protect her. Lauren has no idea why he is there for her, buts trusts him completely. There are many twists and turns and unexpected events throughout the book. Your emotions will be all over the place. (in a good way)
Will Lauren have the courage to leave Jared? Will Trick and Lauren fight their attraction to one another? Or will they walk away from each other after the case is complete?
Aden knocks it out of the park with this one!!!!
Be warned this book contains domestic abuse which Aden writes with care and compassion.
