Everyone is talking about Hot Toddy. Who is LJ? Does she even know? Growing up in the heartland of America, LJ didn't learn what the world was really like outside the boundaries of her family farm until she left for college in Southern California. She immediately falls head over heels in love with a hot surfer and his sun-and-surf laid-back lifestyle. She picks up modeling and acting gigs to pay down her student loans.

After a few unbearable twists of fate, LJ abandons her Midwestern values for the temptations of Hollywood—and that's only the beginning. Caught in the pressure of balancing a lie and reality, and with her seemingly new best friend, Sidney, becoming more viperous at every turn, LJ can no longer escape the fall down the rabbit hole into a dark world of money and power, where sex sells and everything is for sale.

Hot Toddy is for every young woman who's ever let her foolishness consume her. Part naughty thrill ride, and part serious take on coming of age in a time when wealth and celebrity seem to be the only things that matter, Hot Toddy promises to be this year's best read, with big belly laughs, engaging women characters, and an unexpected finale that will leave you wanting more.

This book was waiting on the shelf to be read by me from a long time. Having dealt with my "life problems" (an understatement), I finally managed to inveigle myself to make time for Hot Toddy. Let me be honest here, the title is a good enough reason to attract my attention towards the book. As an additive, we have the cover. All that jazz about aesthetics, you know. It worked on me ;)

Now, for someone who is acclimatized to witnessing veritable plotlines being upfront with me, I had a difficulty in accepting that the actual plot can only be accounted after a few pages deep within the book. Not exactly a "what a shame" moment, but, it could have been worse. Speaking of the plot, let me mention that our heroine, Lillian James Volpicelli (now, that's a mouthful for me), or in short LJ, as Collins likes to call her, is unfortunately unable to relinquish her verifiable claims of bearing Midwestern values. Underneath her desire to be lured into the enchanting and appealing world of Hollywood, Lillian is impotent against her upbringing which has transformed her into an impressionable, unguarded and innocent young woman. This twenty-one year old cannot help herself from exposing her vulnerability. Her naivety keeks in unnoticed; 'LJ' always fetches Lillian in herself.

When LJ meets her antithesis Sidney Steele, her "friend", she is predisposed to impulsive decisions which only brings her sorrow and pain in the end. Impelled by the extravagant conducts of her friends, this gullible person yearns to become one of them and live by their set of rules. When the opportunity arises, LJ allows herself to be bludgeoned into their world, oblivious of the toxicity she surrounds herself with, and appearing to be incognizant of the precipitous slide she is about to engage herself with for the worse. The glitz and glamour of Hollywood provokes LJ to step into its incendiary territory and the rest is history (which I am not supposed to disclose).

The plotline of Hot Toddy comes close to, what Peter Brooks calls as the "progressive educative plot". Lillian who first began her journey as a naive woman, after the catch-22 situation, metamorphoses into a strong, unassailable and inviolable woman. In simple words, the story encircles a self-improvement plot. While the successive phases in Lillian's life leads to the projection of "improvement" in her outer life, it is only when she learns from her past mistakes that she is able to experience self-integration—a fully rounded and "balanced" consciousness.

The first person account of LJ makes her a reliable narrator, assuming that she is being true to herself. Her preconceptions and prejudices are of course entrenched in her which may force her to display unreliableness. For a self-improvement novel, the story is extremely fast-paced, often times neglecting the concept and inclining towards dramatic effect which proves to be of serious impediment if one is to consider the thematic emphasis in the text. What really impressed me in the novel is the transition of Lillian to LJ and then again to Lillian, if that makes any sense. The diction and articulation of sentences though shall probably dazzle the youths, it unfortunately failed to leave a long lasting impression on me even though I am still in my early twenties. Perhaps, it is the truth they speak when they say that I was born in the wrong century. When it comes to literature, I am indeed square-toed.

I am surely fixated upon contemporary literature from time to time and Hot Toddy was a quick, fun read to entertain myself. A light book to read to push you out of your gloomy state which helps to foster a feeling of frivolity and light-heartedness.

Hot Toddy can be accompanied with Hot Toddy! It's the winters after all, the time for hot drinks and spicy reads, no? ;)

“Here in LA, there’s no line between what’s right and what’s wrong. The moral boundaries are blurred, and I like it….

…. What I don’t know is if it will lead me somewhere right…or somewhere very, very wrong. But I’m excited to find out.”

…. And thus the journey of LJ begins!

,p>Hot Toddy is the debut novel of the author T.C.Collins, where she amazingly weaves a coming-of-age story about a twenty-one year old girl who couldn’t escape the fall down the rabbit hole in the plastic world of LA.

Lillian James Volpicelli (LJ) is a good-hearted, free-spirited, gullible and a quite naive girl who lets her toxic, self-absorbed friend, Sidney Steele get the best of her. With peer pressure she falls for the temptation of Hollywood, ditching the moral values of her Midwestern upbringing. And gets lost in a dark, provocative world of money, power and glamour.

LJ’s character develops throughout the novel and along with her, so does mine. With her I too get lost in all the glitz and glamour of LA to New York to Hawaii and when she knew better, so did I. Collins has also done a wonderful job in bringing the characters to life. You can relate to all of them. I know LJ and Sidney. I know them very well. And so do I know Brody(the guy you thought would never break your heart. But they always do. Always.) and Cole(a guy who chases you just because you are hard to get).

I loved Hot Toddy. It was quite fast paced from the beginning. And is a light and quick read. The story develops just at a right pace and keeps you hooked, throughout. But the ending seemed a bit rushed to me. The plot could have been introduced a bit earlier in the story. (Sorry! I don’t want to give any spoilers. Read yourself to know more.) Lastly, how can I forget to mention about the ‘oh! so gorgeous’ cover. Some brownie points for that!

So, Hot Toddy is a HIT for me.

“The camouflage we hide ourselves under makes our obscure illusions of life easier to bear.”

Disclaimer: I receive a copy of this book from the Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my review in anyway.

Hot Toddy is a debut novel written by the sweet and amazing author T.C. Collins. This book brings the readers into the roller coaster life of LJ and how she faced the fun, wild and sexy side of LA. It is truly a coming-of-age story that every woman should read.

First of all, I just wanted all of you to know that I really enjoyed this book. I have been pushing myself away from contemporary books because its a hit or miss genre for me but Hot Toddy really didn’t disappoint.

This book was exciting. There was alot of things going on in this book which surprised and sometimes shocked me. It has its own twist and turns that will definitely make you feel different kind of emotions. It has those moment that can make you smile, laugh, sad, angry etc,

It was a fun experience to read in the point of view of our main character, LJ. We can see how this sweet and laid-back young girl transformed into a strong woman. I love how LJ’s character developed throughout the whole story. She has faced so many problems and her life has been through a lot of ups and downs especially because she was surrounded by toxic people. She also had made decisions that most people would not do but this shows how different people would react to a situation. It will make you see how people like her struggled which in turn resulted to a decision different to the common norm. Not just only that, it will open your eyes that things like this happens in real life and should be a lesson to all of us.

What I love the most is that even LJ made mistakes and bad decisions she was still able to stand back up and make things better and we should keep that in mind.

Final Rating: 4/5

In her debut novel, T.C. Collins brings the escapades of an LA model to life. From clubs to mansions, LJ tempts fate with questionable decisions but always has outstanding fun. LJ and Sidney explore all LA has to offer and walk on the wild side, stumbling a few times along the bumpy concrete. Collins's book is a romp through Hollywood that made me want to get out of my rural town and head to the city for some partying, dancing, and eye candy! I'm looking forward to the sequel to see where life will take LJ!

What a wild story! I could NOT put this book down! The author has a way with words and from the beginning she dragged me down the rabbit hole, to a land of sparkle, riches, sex, and crazy, sexy, wild life. I was enthralled by LJ's journey and could relate to how she felt as a young 21 year old. Although my story is far different from hers, I understood her and remember those moments where the world was my oyster, but I had no idea what I was doing. Great story, fantastic characters, and a rush of a ride!

"You've got a light inside you that most people out here don't have. You've got a bright, honest energy, girl. And a good heart! And don't you let anyone take that away from you, because if you let them, they will."
📖📖📖📖
Hot Toddy is a story of an upcoming model LJ in Hollywood who falls in the vicious trap of the industry and abandons her morals and values. An exciting and fascinating journey filled with friendship, drama, glamour, sex, drugs, relationships, setbacks that I enjoyed through this book. We get to see her struggle, her temptations and the way she makes mistakes but, in the end she is stronger. There is lot of drama, big belly laughs, engaging women characters and an unexpected finale that will leave you wanting more. I don't want to give you any spoilers but, the story has many twists and turns and an amazing end.
And mind you, even if the book is 330 pages, the story is fast paced and for sure a page turner.
The writing style is very fluent and developed for a debut author. The author has a good potential. I would surely read more of her work. The narrations and the writing style are the USP of this book. The story seemed rushed at a few instances, apart from that I couldn't find any cons.

A must read for every young woman and teenagers. I cannot wait to see how the story goes in the upcoming book. .

"Captain Zero's girls get whatever they want!"

"Hot Toddy" is an edgy coming-of-age novel superb for anyone who's made (or is in the process of making) illogical, impulsive decisions. LJ's not great with relationships and, in the heart of Hollywood, tries her hardest to make ends meet with whatever modeling jobs she can land -- or at least those her friend Naomi, a fellow model who doubles as a genuine friend not out to sabotage other models, hooks her up with modeling gigs using her own connections. But they don't fit the lifestyle LJ's best friend and roommate keeps encouraging her to live, so she is forced to find a method that leads her on a path of self-discovery and redeemed self-esteem.

The author described this as a fun read, but it's more of a read-page-one-and-don't-stop-until-you-hit-the-back-cover book. There were a few instances wherein the typos and grammar made words or sentences hard to read, and some words and phrases could use dashes -- like "gluten-free" and the above dash-including phrase -- especially since they would help the diction flow more seamlessly.

I was also put off half a hundred pages ago because one Of Her roommates said "retarded" in place of "stupid", but something I've told myself countless times as an autistic writer writing autistic protagonists who face such discrimination and name-calling is, "Just because my character does it doesn't mean it's what I would do. I don't always have to agree with them."

I noticed a TBC note on the back of the last chapter -- I'm definitely interested in a second novel. I was shocked to have come across a first novel that isn't crappy.

Hot Toddy is a story about LJ (Lillian James Volpicelli) is an upcoming model who gets lost in the Hollywood world due to major influences in her life. Due to peer pressure she falls for the temptation of Hollywood ditching her morals and values. You’ll see her struggling a lot, and making really bad decisions when it comes to men, jobs and drugs.

My Review!

Hot toddy is a nice fast paced novel, Collins has done a commendable job in bringing the characters to life. You can relate to all of them. It’s a light and quick read. Great book with some pretty awesome and realistic characters!

The writing was very simple and accessible, making it really easy to read. Although, at the begging it was a bit boring and hard to get into...

Definitely a great read for this summer, which will grant you some laughs (but also some tears)!

Hopefully there will be more, because that final just leaves you wishing for more!

Couldn't recommend the most!

For a debut novel, this is a definite winner!

This is a walk on the wild side, set in L.A. as a Model comes of age in the city. Filled with escapades into the nightlife of L.A it is a fun read that will give you insight into the life of one particular character finding her way in a city with so many facets.

The title of the book is very appealing, "Hot Toddy" translates to any intoxicating drink that is served hot. I saw this book on my Instagram grid & was intrigued by the cover featuring a girl in sunglasses with lush pink lips & hairs at the back blown away by the wind! And the blurb said, this book is for every woman who shares a wild side! I knew I had to get my hands on this book! A huge shoutout to T. C. Collins who agreed to send me a signed copy in exchange for an honest review.

Just from the first few lines I knew I would love the protagonist, just as the girl in the cover who appears to be fearless, wild & carefree. Lilian James (LJ) leads an almost perfect life, a hot surfer boyfriend & laid back life. After some turn of events, LJ learns that, "Stability is a fallacy - the only way we can truly be stable as if there is no house of cards, if we only depend on ourselves. But, that's easier said than done." She starts modelling to pay off her debts & to keep her bank balance stable.

Her best friend, Sidney is the kind of person who invites LJ over saying, "We'll get into all sorts of troubles" Haha. Sidney & LJ are mostly busy partying at weekends, enjoying themselves to the fullest, dancing, drinking & smoking, it's hard to catch up with all the names of the guys. They follow the moto of 'You only live once'.

While LJ is after money & lots of money, she takes some wrong turns which lead her to a dark world of money & power, which is hard to exit once you've entered. She stumbles in her life because of following fun & not thinking about consequences beforehand. The protagonist grows over the story, giving us many valuable life lessons throughout. One of my absolute favorite thing about LJ is how much she enjoys the little things in life whether it's a car ride or a Hawaii trip. She's the girl who never misses out on fun, she's daring & bold. And while reading all the happy incidents, I couldn't keep a smile off my face. Her traveling experiences are written so well, it's hard to believe it is a debut novel!

My favorite character was Naomi, I loved how effortlessly graceful she is. She's the one friend who we all need in our lives, to keep us right on the track when we're unsure of our own decisions, who sticks through the thin & thick. :)

All in all: It was a refreshing read after awhile, I feel the ending was a little bit rushed, it leaves the reader's with an unexpected finale (don't want to give any spoilers so read it for yourself!) I loved the book very much! I can't wait to read the second part soon. *sighs

I'd totally recommend this gem to every reader.

*I give this book 4/5 stars.

Hot Toddy is a contemporary novel written by T.C Collins. She was very kind enough to send me the review copy overseas in return of an honest review.

The story is about a girl named LJ, and her encounters when she step into something that could potentially ruin her life. I really liked the message behind the entire story, but, the ending was so abrupt and totally not acceptable to me.
The character were pretty vibrant and vivid, which perfectly portrayed the Southern Californian lifestyle. The narration was also very clear and lucid.
It was a fast paced read, which is a very good thing because reading gets really slothful when there is too much of unnecessary details and irrationally intricate episodes. But what is more unsettling is that that the story was more on fortunate, fun and easy going mode than portraying the actual disadvantages and risks that LJ was living.
The first 180 to 181 pages were completely filled with parties and booze. In my suggestion, I guess it could have had more of something which could have added more to the story.
Now, coming to the part where I had fluctuating feelings for the book was that I not at all felt any affinity or connection with LJ. She tend to step in the mess despite of so much of introspection that she does. Maybe because, it is her character and obviously, that’s what the whole book is about. Young naïve girls who rather prefer living wild than living wise.
But the ending was so not justifying, despite of all her actions, she get out clean. I know that probably there is going to be a sequel released in the future but the ending was honestly unsatisfying.

As it was meant to be a genuine critical review, despite of that, I would recommend it as it has a very subtle and strong message in it.

As I went on to read the book after reading the blurb I kept on wondering what can happen at the end which will leave me wanting more. Well, the answer to that I received and it got me as a reaction to my first line I wrote here. Oh Freak! The book introduces us to LJ, Brody, Sidney and Naomi. The characters whom you love, hate, live throughout the journey of the 329 pages of the book.

The characters are super well written and you feel instantly connected to them. I, for instance, connected the most to LJ because that's how I am. In the situations she faces, I would have behaved the exact same way she did. And I hated Sidney but loved their girl bond. There are parties, drugs, booze and everything a hollywood lifestyle demands in the book. You feel LJ’s journey. Every character got a proper start and a proper end to it which I commend the writer for. Especially since it's her first book.

Coming to the story, the book was a fun ride which left me thinking at a lot of places. Picking up a novel of this genre was easy but justifying what we write is difficult. The writer did a great job with that. At times, as a reader, I wanted to slap sense into some characters. And that's also something that counts as the achievements of the writer. Loved the narration style and the elements underlying in the book. And trust me, you'll have to read the book to find out what exactly am I saying.

If I have to speak of the cons then the first thing I will have to mention is that the book is a very long read. Even though breezy, by the time you reach the end of the book and knowing the end you would wonder that the prior informations and the scenes that were mentioned in a lot of detail were unnecessary. A few scenes could've been skipped or if not skipped then written in a lesser detail. Some characters I believe, should've had a bit more space in the book to make them all the more worthwhile. But having said all of that, you know what's worthwhile!? Waiting for the next part of the book. This one for me was 4 out of 5 and I'm definitely waiting to know more about what happens with LJ next...

“I know our friendship will be fine. I just hope that I’ll be fine when this is all said and done, too.”

Wowza. This novel will take you on a journey; one filled with drama, back-stabbing, glamour, money, drugs, sex, friendships, relationships... you name it, LJ has faced it.

The story is told from a unique, coming-of-age/adulting style, that gives you the inside perspective of the complexities that come with emerging as an adult in a provocative, competitive, and enticing setting, such as LA. You follow the journey of LJ, a sweet, ‘chill,’ and innocent So Cal girl, who is looking to successfully emerge within the LA scene. She faces challenges with negative influences, heartbreak, making difficult life choices, and deciding who she want to really be in her life. The story is complex, in that you are consistently questioning, reflecting, and reacting as LJ does in the story, wondering who can be trusted, what’s really safe, and how are we going to get through this?

Overall, I was intrigued by the evolution of LJ and interested to know what she ends up deciding throughout her many interfaces with drama and provocative content. I found myself wanting to scream, ‘NO! LJ! DON’T DO IT!’ The details of the characters in this story were very well done. I found myself completely invested in what happens to each of them, whether I liked them or not. I occasionally struggled with the story, mostly out of frustration and desire for resolution that is unrealistic in this setting/context (omitting spoilers because I think you should see what happens for yourself 😉). The characters are not particularly likable, with the exception of a few gems that, I can imagine, is jarringly similar for many in this LA scene. A great debut novel by Collins! Looking forward to what’s next!

Well what can I say this book was awesome! I read it in two days as I couldn't put it down!

I love how the story was relatable. We see the main character LJ go through ups and downs and a journey of discovery and finding out that the grass is not always greener on the other side.
We all have had friends like Sidney at some point who take us for a ride or walk over us to get what they want.

We all have that one friend like Damiano and Naomi who always have your back and speak the brutal truth.

This book was hilarious and had me in stitches but it also had me at the point of tears as some of the situations LJ finds herself in are harrowing. She goes from being a little naive and lost, to hard and emotionless, and then happy and finding her saviour.

This book was a massive rollercoaster ride and i thoroughly enjoyed it, i was so excited when i reached the end saw three little words.......to be continued!

I cannot wait for the next instalment and would reccomend it to anyone who loves reading about strong characters and journeys of discovery.

Overall it's a quick fun read, the story really kicks in about two thirds of the way through and that's when I started to plough through it. I thought there could've been more financial motivation for LJ to take the plunge into the 'bad job' - massive debts, being chased by someone she owed? Up to then I didn't think a lot of it felt as realistically wild as I was supposed to (but I've read a lot of rock n roll autobiographies!) The dialogue is quite clunky and unnatural in parts and I was reminded a lot of the old advise my English lit teacher used to say, show don't tell. There's a lot of driving around drunk and I couldn't figure out if nobody cared or if it was just missed as an issue? I would've loved to know more about LJs screenplay and for her writing to be a feature of her future plans at the end, rather than it predictably all being made better by a man with money- is it supposed to be ironic that she's still being kept and paid for? I was really hoping it would end with her saying she was going to make her own way financially but maybe use the round the world trip for inspiration & time to write :) At the end I was asking myself....did the $900 monthly car payments evaporate, how was LJ paying her rent for 6 months, how was Sidney going to explain $90k in cash to the bank, what happened to Naomi? I'd love to know more about Sidney's character too, finding out what made her behave the way she did would be intriguing.

It took me two days to finish the book and visit LA,Hollywood New York etc.I really liked the plot of the book. The author has very nicely crafted to story of LJ, the 21 years old woman, who has seen all the shades of human emotions like love , friendship, betrayal. The glamorous life which makes it difficult for LJ to decide what’s the good and the bad , the money , the luxurious life which is what is the ultimate dream of the young generation is very nicely described by the author. The book has a lot of hot stuff (booze, parties, cocaine, sex, one night stands) and a message too in the end which says that the light and glamour of the luxurious uptown life can be distracting but ultimately can result in bad consequences and regrets.
Overall I found it really entertaining.I wish the author all the best and hope she writes many more awesome books in future.

TC Collins wrote a fantastic debut novel. We follow the main character, LJ - an ambitious and intelligent woman as she moves to LA from a small town. She gets involved in modeling gigs and small acting roles as she maintains and academic career. But, before she knows it, LJ experiences the sleezy side of Hollywood of sex, drugs, and booze that ultimately send her in a heartbreaking downward spiral. This is an equal part coming of age story and cautionary tale of living in the fast lane, all wrapped in a page turning novel that I couldn’t put down. I found myself cheering for LJ when she was both the hero and the villain of the story.

I look forward to a possible sequel and cannot wait for more writings from T.C.

Book #29 Read in 2017
Hot Toddy by T.C. Collins

This author writes like a young Jackie Collins so she is named properly. LJ is a model/want to be screenwriter in CA who gets caught up in the high life of partying, drinking and doing drugs. Her friend Sidney has a get-rich quick scheme that might not be a good idea but LJ goes along with it. Lots of graphic sex scenes in this book so not for the faint of heart. I received this book in exchange for a honest review.

I won a copy of this book from a Goodreads Giveaway a short while ago. WOW! This is one that you don't want to put down, you just want to keep reading. I enjoyed this book from the first page to the very last and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, racy and life on the wild side type of book.

Hot Toddy was a crazy ride full of questionable choices and wild adventures for a young protagonist trying to find herself in the often superficial society of Los Angeles’ rich and famous. A sexy, quick read that shows how easily a young lady can slide into a life she didn’t envision for herself. I enjoyed this fast-paced, racy read! Excited for the sequel suggested by the “to be continued...”

Sexy, fun, escapist - three words that sum up this debut from TC Collins. The story whizzes along at a fast pace with new characters being thrown into the pot from all sides. The main character, LJ, perhaps reflecting a life that the author would have wished to live herself (?), goes on a roller coaster of a ride, mainly through Hollywood but also including New York and Hawaii, as she gets involved in modelling, acting and more besides to make ends meet. Her various relationships are explored in this racy tale, whether friendships or lovers. An exciting enough read but don't expect anything too deep. Good holiday stuff!

Hot Toddy tells the story of a struggling model who is a good girl and person at heart but gets lost in the Hollywood world due to major influences in her life. You'll see her struggling a lot, losing and making new relationships, both good and bad for her, getting new and diverse jobs, making really bad decisions when it comes to man, jobs and drugs.

"You've got a light inside you that most people out here don't have. You've got a bright, honest energy, girl. And a good heart! And don't you let anyone take that away from you, because if you let them, they will."

You can expect a lot of drama and taboo events in this book. I was a little skeptical in the beginning, specially when the consumption of drugs first appeared in the book, but putting all that world apart, the plot line was super entertaining and I was seriously hooked. I just wanted to keep reading to find out what the hell LJ would be up to next or what the world would through at her.

I was rooting for her to figure things out, give Cole a chance and I was dying for her to ditch that b*tch she called best friend, aka Sid! I never liked her and she seriously is such a bad influence and just more like an enemy than a friend.

I was very sad and pissed with Brody for doing LJ wrong, specially since it really messed her up and messed with her decisions regarding Cole and other things. He was seriously such an a-hole.

I loved Cole, at first I though he was just another douchebag looking for a one night stand but no; my baby was really crushing on LJ, and god damn that rendez-vous they had was seriously HOT! I hope there's a chance they might get together in the second book.

"Hello love..." he whispers into my hear (...) He looks incredible and smells the same, and his eyes penetrating mine are making me weak in the knees. He has his arm around me and is caressing my bare back, moving his body in response to mine. We're liquid together. He leans down to put his forehead on mine and starts to kiss me softly all over my face and then pulls my hair a little so that he can kiss my neck. He kisses me everywhere but my lips, and the anticipation drives me wild."

Actually, I have a lot of hopes for the second book, besides the Cole one, first and foremost that LJ sticks with her decision regarding Sid. Now, Naomi is an awesome friend. I adored her! I hope they stick together.

When it comes to LJ's lastest love interest, Cash, I feel like everything happened way too fast and I have a feeling things might go really wrong on the next book. I don't even know if I'm rooting for them or not, I want her to be happy but as I said before, I'm still holding out hope for Cole.

If you're into the whole Hollywood life style, this book is a great pick! Super fun, drama filled, a lot of debauchery and model/ Hollywood life style cliches. Total recommend!

This book displays a life lessons about youth, is very crucial, thank T.C Collins for bringing such type of topics into lights.
Characters like Brody, Naomi, Sidney left an impression throughout the journey with l.J.the flow of the story is splendid, though the book is indeed a lengthy ,but the plot and the narration kept me hooked till the end.
Cover is amazingly desgined aswell as eye-catching...looks just perfect.
The ending of the story is not at all satisfying , leaves so many questions in reader's mind with an unexpected final.
Egarly waiting for the sequel to know what will happen next .
