Sex. Lies. Greed. Power. Scandal. Politics.Political strategist, Elizabeth McNeal has been called a lot of things throughout her career—bitch being at the top of the list—but she doesn’t let it get to her. She’s bold, she’s blunt, and she takes orders from no one. This is how she’s survived working in a man’s world. She’s the master of diversion, and her specialty is winning an election—no matter the cost. That is, until she meets her new client, Democratic candidate, Congressman William Baxter. Kind, considerate, insanely handsome, honest, and ten years her junior, he’s a unicorn among politicians. He infuriates her. He challenges her. Most of all, he makes her see past the scandalous world of politics and helps her to discover the heart of the woman inside her. With sparks flying between them and the election rapidly approaching, the last thing either of them need is to be caught in a compromising position. Some lines are meant to be crossed and some rules broken, but for Elizabeth and Liam is it worth the cost of being politically incorrect?
Jeanne McDonald enjoys writing contemporary romance filled with spice, drama, and humor. She loves to explore the supernatural, relish in the world of fantasy, and dabble in the follies of the heart. As JM Dodd, she returns to the wonderment of youth and young love through the scope of Young Adult fiction.
She prides herself in being a mother, a friend, a student of knowledge and of life, a coffee addict, a philosophy novice, a pop culture connoisseur, inspired by music, encouraged by words, and a believer in humanity.
When she's not spending time with her amazing son, her dog, and her cat, she can be found reading, writing, enjoying a great film, or cooking for friends. In her house, there’s always music or a podcast playing.
A proud Texan, Jeanne currently resides in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with her family.
Politically Incorrect is the first book I've read by Jeanne McDonald, and I can say without a shadow of a doubt I'll be reading her again, because this was a great read. Mixing politics with romance is generally a winning combination for me and this is up there as one of the best I've read.
Now I'm going to go against the grain, and the blurb, and say, to me, Elizabeth McNeal is no bitch. She's a focussed, independent, strong, dedicated woman who has raised her daughter single-handedly whilst being at the top of her game as a political campaign strategist. I loved her: she takes no prisoners and doesn't mince her words, but when she meets her newest candidate, Democratic Congressman William Baxter, her resolve is somewhat tested.
I connected hugely with this couple and their story. With Liam being ten years younger than Elizabeth, as well as the man she's working on getting elected into the Senate, to say she's apprehensive of crossing any lines is an understatement and this creates plenty of sexual tension and build-up between them. And Liam really did tick all the boxes for me: ex-military, intelligent, sexy, quietly determined and with an amusing and questionable taste in ties, he has a real presence and had my vote from the off. We see their flaws, their fears and insecurities, but we also see them fighting for what they want despite the potential scandal that it may cause, and when things do heat up between them, they bring some sizzling action and discover the Congressman is a bit of a dirty boy.
"I want you every which way I can have you. I’m going to lick, bite, suck, and tease you until you’re on the brink of madness. And when you think you can’t take anymore, I’m going to do it all over again."
With just the right amount of drama added into the mix and a great cast of secondary characters, Politically Incorrect is an entertaining romance that's sexy, passionate, funny and heartfelt. I'd be interested to see if Harper gets his story, because I do think the opportunity is there for more, but if not this is a more than satisfying standalone.
"I know as soon as you meet him, you’re going to fall in love with him."

It's been a while since I've read a book that took so little to get me so worked up, but Politically Incorrect did exactly that.
A look. A touch. A few sweet, dirty words. And BAM, an explosion of fluttery butterflies and an aching need to see Lizzy and Liam win.
Good grief, Jeanne McDonald knows how to amp up the sexual tension. I thought for a minute there I would explode from the heat, the chemistry and the sizzle sparking off Elizabeth McNeal and William Baxter, but thankfully, I survived to see the seriously swoony ending. And all the good stuff in between.
Good stuff, you say? Yes. So. Much. Good. Stuff. Politically Incorrect was one of those books that ticked all of my boxes. It was witty, melding intelligence with humor in the best way. It was, for lack of a better word, mature. Lizzy was a strong, powerful, snarky woman, older than her man—who wasn't just some boy toy—and totally kickass. It was sexy; tension aside (because it was in a whole other class on that front), Liam and Lizzy had it going on. I loved honorable, trustworthy, nice Liam, but the man he was behind closed doors? Him, I'd liked to plaster myself against and hang on for dear life.
Most of all, Politically Incorrect was lighthearted and swoony. It’s books like this that make me love reading. It wasn't taxing, stressful, overflowing with angst. It was fucking FUN to read. I smiled so much my cheeks are now aching, and my heart is pulsing with this happiness that comes from loving a book and its characters, and being completely and utterly satisfied with each and every word.
This is my first book by Ms. McDonald, and you can rest assured I'll be back for more. I'd love to see more of Liam and Lizzy, and Scout and Aaron (*cough please! cough*) but really, I'd mostly just love to capture this feeling of complete contentment once again. ~ Beth, 5 stars
Mr. Right wasn't in the cards for me. Mr. Good for Right Now was all I needed. At least with him, I could toss him back when I was done. No harm, no foul.
From what I've heard your fly's open more than a Google homepage.
No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't fall asleep without him beside me... So I did what any normal, red-blooded American woman would do. I got out of bed, slipped into his discarded shirt, and began to snoop.
I hardly classify as a bimbo according to what you said the last time we met. Besides, I know how to eat with a fork and don't require my tits to carry my leftovers for later... Now, go on to your party. I'm sure they're dying to be entertained by your small penis... I mean mind.
My Review:
Politically Incorrect proved to be an amusing, well-written, and timely read during the current election season. I was highly entertained by Ms. McDonald's use of humor and clever wit, as well as her sizzling sensual scenes that had me gasping and nearly snapping the stem on my wine glass. I didn't fully appreciate the character of Elizabeth initially, her career as a political strategist had hardened her into a diabolical dragon lady who seemed cold and only intent on winning - at any cost. Elizabeth was shocked to find she had an actual honest candidate to work with - hmm, I thought such creatures to be as common as unicorns... However, Liam sounded yummy and seemed to be the total package - I adored him. Pity for Elizabeth that he was her client, and she had vowed to never get involved with politicians. It was a constant battle of two strong wills, they argued and tore each other's heads off during the day, and ultimately ripped each other's clothes off behind closed doors - oh my! My kindle was smoking - it may never be the same... Although Elizabeth resisted their mutual attraction and she didn't give in to the carnal aspects of their relationship until half way through the book, trust me when I say it was worth the wait - the word explosive seems an apt descriptor. Ms. McDonald is a skilled writer and certainly knows how to pace a story and build the suspense and maintain the intrigue. Politically Incorrect was well crafted and smartly done. Elizabeth and Liam have my vote.
It’s no secret I am a fan of Jeanne McDonald’s writing, or the woman herself. Her new book Politically Incorrect is one of her best. Her leading lady, Elizabeth McNeal, has been described by many as a bitch. To me she is a great example of a woman making it in a man’s world on her own terms. Smart, capable, and driven. All these things valued in a male, yet picked on when displayed by a woman. She is also divorced, raising her daughter, and trying to teach her how to be her own person. She is my hero. Enter Liam Baxter, her new newest political candidate she has chosen to work with. He is everything she thought no longer existed in this world—a politician with values, integrity, and above all else, honesty. He is also younger than Elizabeth, far too easy on the eyes, and way too interested in making their relationship expand beyond the boundaries of daytime. He is strong, warm, determined, and goal oriented. He delights in wearing the fugliest ties known to man, much to Elizabeth’s chagrin, and my amusement. So begins a game of cat and mouse—but who is winning? Elizabeth likes to think she is, and Liam allows her to think whatever she wants, since he knows the truth. And the truth is, Liam is the man Elizabeth needs to help her remember the one thing she has forgotten. How to be Elizabeth the woman. He fully intends on showing her he is the right man for her, and that age, careers, and the world mean nothing when it comes to their relationship. And when this sexy, swoony man sets his mind on something, he doesn’t let anything stop him. A great 5 star read!
What a clever play on the title. This is somehow fitting read with the recent election stuff. Granted with a lighter note and fiction of course. I always find politics and romance mixing interesting, I've only read a few with that theme and it always good combination to explore. This I think was one of the best ones I've read so far. The blurb is what made me curious despite being unfamiliar with the author.
Elizabeth McNeal is at the top of the game as political strategiest, focused, independent, strong, dedicated woman. She's plays hard in male dominated world so she has to be assertive and know what's what. I'm impressed as a single mom but still manages to do all that. I get it she comes off as a bitch but honestly with that kind of environment and things to do, so kudos to her and kick ass. It's hard not to be on defense, no BS and no minced words here. Funny enough she won't be a person I'd gravitate to but I think outside her job she's fair and pretty ok. All bets are off though when her resolve is tested though soon enough when she meets the charming William Baxter.
Liam is not your typical candidate, a younger more vibrant and clean, with his own style. Democratic Congressman William and senate hopeful is Elizabeth's new client. I find that their story appealing in that they seem different, how they deal with things but he needs her help if he wants to win. That age difference was also another layer that made things more mature. Oh it's a mighty fine temptation. Crossing the lines with all that is at stake? Yikes. So the tension continues to build as they work together. There is whole lot of the sizzling chemistry too and it is delicious. I liked Liam, he has the qualities of a good candidate but a fresher allure, eccentric ties to boot. While has a strong silent side, he is amusing, confident, convincing, earnest, hard working. He has appeal and charm, a gentleman and swoon worthy. Did I mention he's a ex-military, looker and sexy too? He'd win my vote for sure.
Aside from the political sacndal all out, it's great to see these people behind that. Get to know them. To see their flaws, their fears and insecurities, but to see them fighting for what they want and their own happiness. It's not gonna be easy. There was humor and wit added to it all that made it work for even more. It wasn't as stressful or hard with that topic as I thought it would be. It was light hearted and fun, that was a pleasant surprise for me. The times I felt giddy and smiley over them. Everything balanced out well, you had conflict, drama, intrigue and likable characters. The secondary ones especially Harper or Aaron, I think their story will be interesting as well.
There was nothing incorrect about this book it was entertaining, heartfelt romance, humorous, fab and sexy. All around satisfying and happy with how it all wrapped up. I'd definitely like to see this gang again!

Here’s to Eliza-bitch. A truly realistic representation of just about every woman I know out there who’s a mother, a career woman, someone who’s had her heart broken by lover, friend or foe, or any combination of the above for mentioned existences. My biggest take away from a lot of this book- aside from the awesomeness that is Elizabeth + Liam mind you- is her relationship with her daughter. I freaking adore this woman and all her strengths (and weaknesses). What a great role model she is for Jordyn. I couldn’t get enough of those two quite frankly and I have all the same hopes for my own girls as she has for hers. Okay, now, ahem, on to Liam. Damn. DAMN DAMN DAMN. This kid and his lips. And ties. Actually, this kid and his everything. I am ded. Revive me not. Perfect perfect perfect. Is all I’m saying. This story was well weaved by Jeanne McDonald. Showing me who Elizabeth is through conversations with her closest people, her view on politics and inner thought processes. I appreciated the depths of which this character was written and I “get” her on so many levels, that it’s scary. Also, thank you for writing such a GREAT main male character! I couldn’t get enough of Liam (or his brother) from the moment he stepped into the room. This was a great ride from beginning to end and I am a big fan of watching strong women realize love is not a weakness. Congrats on hitting a home run, dearest author! Side notes on side characters: Samford: GENIUS. I love this dirty old man. Aaron & Scout – MORE PLEASE Ms. McDonald. That is all. I need time now, to recuperate from this awesomeness.
What a totally appropriate book for this election year. It was so much fun seeing some of the crazy, and sometimes ugly, sides of what goes on behind the scenes in a political contest.
When we first meet out protagonists, Elizabeth McNeal and William “Liam” Baxter, it is unclear how these two would be able to get along. The initial tension between them stems from her pretty solid preconceived notions about Liam that could color how she “handles” him. As the story begins, these two are constantly butting heads about so many things, including Liam’s taste in ties. There is a slow build-up in the tension between them that changes in tone from annoying each other to definite flirting—at times very suggestive. And, when they finally give in, the explosion is epic! The battle for domination isn’t only in the political arena. The one that goes on behind closed doors is hot!
Not only is there a lot of political intrigue, there are also a few secrets kept until the end. (Though I was proud of myself that I figured them out before they were revealed.) It’s a fun read, no matter what your political affiliation. So, sit back and enjoy a great read.
I really enjoyed my first book by Jeanne McDonald! Politically Incorrect was a smart, witty read about political adviser Elizabeth and the sexy Congressman Liam Baxter, who she's trying to help get elected to the Senate. It was an interesting romance story with a behind the scenes look at a political campaign as the backdrop. Elizabeth was a fantastic heroine - intelligent and sassy, and I LOVED that she was my age!! It took a while for Elizabeth and Liam to get together but once they did, they were great together.
I definitely recommend if you are looking for a well-written light read!
Pull the lever. Drop the balloons. Cast your vote. This one is a winner.
Elizabeth is a political insider. As a campaign manager she knows how to manage other people's lives. At 45, she knows what she wants in her life. Her career and her daughter are her priority. She is really good at both.
Liam is a candidate for the open Texas Senate race. In his mid 30's, he is young, good looking, confident and the rarest of finds.....an honest politician. The only draw back is his horrid taste in ties, thus the need for a good campaign manager.
Liam and Elizabeth make a great political team. Personally, there is tension, sexy banter and the need to not cross that line.
Things were messy and I hated messy. I wanted to clear the air. Try to fix things. Instead, I walked away - all in the name of politics.
Liam and Elizabeth play a dangerous game. There are so only so many closets you can hide in or closed doors you can lean against. When you live in the spotlight, a dark corner is hard to find.
It was official. I was hooked. Happily addicted....
Jeanne McDonald as given us the right book at the right time. Cute, fun, romantic political read in a time when politics is anything but fun. I loved the interaction between Liam and Elizabeth. He is so sure of himself. Sure enough for both of the them.
I really loved Elizabeth. She is exactly what a woman in politics, or any successful woman, is. Strong, smart, successful. And that equals people calling her a bitch. Because that's what happens to strong, smart, successful women. But what she really is is a woman who wants to take care of her daughter and be loved by a man who respects her.
Elizabeth and Liam.....a ticket you can get behind.
It's no secret that I'm a sucker for a political romance, so when I was offered an ARC of Politically Incorrect I was all grabby hands and 'gimme gimme gimme'. And from the moment I opened my kindle, I knew I was going to love this book. The main heroine, Elizabeth McNeal, is so refreshing and kick ass, so from the start I found myself rooting for her. A forty-something divorcee, with an almost-grown daughter, she finds herself trying to negotiate the quagmire of dating as a more mature (not old, dammit definitely not old) woman. But like so many, she discovers the dating pool needs a hell of a lot of chlorine!
Enter Liam Baxter. A thirty-something ex-military candidate, Elizabeth agrees to work with him, using her considerable experience at helping candidates win elections. From the start there's frisson between them, but all the cards seem stacked against them. She's ten years older, he needs to appear whiter than white to win the election, and, of course, there's her inner voice, telling her that this is all so wrong.
The best thing about reading a romance book is the journey that the story takes the reader on. We see the characters try to fight against their flaws, stumble and fall a few times, and this book is no exception. It was a real pleasure to follow Elizabeth and Liam's journey, and the characters felt very real to me.
A fabulous story, smoking love scenes, and a hero that I wouldn't kick out of bed (ahem) mean that this is one of THE reads of the summer. I highly recommend it!
I LOVED this book! From page one this story sucked me in. This is one of my favorite books this year! The main character, Elizabeth, rocked it as a hard ass campaign manager and single mom. Liam was just hot and awesome. I loved the back and forth banter between these two leads. The sub characters in Politically Incorrect were amazing as well, I hope Aaron and Scout get there own novel. The plot was continuously entertaining with many lol moments as well as hot and steamy. There were a few plot twists that I did not see coming and was pleasantly surprised. Jeanne McDonald is one of my go to authors when I need a great read.
Did the opening not get you. Sex. Lies. Greed. Power. Scandal. Politics. I believe that said it all. I was just awed, wowed, stunned, confused, revived, intrigued, titillated, captivated, and so much more. Go get this book.
Elizabeth has a job to do and do it she will. Notwithstanding the intense attraction to the young, hot, sexy, honest politician that she has been hired to work for. She needs to build a strategy that will get him elected and keep her hands to herself at the same time.
An honest politician. Not just honest but one with morals, respect, insight, and he's young. William was not expected. He forged his own strength, determination, passion, and set his sights forward.
I got great characters that were easy to connect with, well developed and written story-line, some powerful drama, alluring and forbidden romance, great lines, intense sexual tension, political insight with a little intrigue, and even a twist or two that you don't see coming.
Jeanne McDonald has gotten herself a reader that will be there. I fell in love with William and Elizabeth. They showed me a new side of politicians and he people that keep them running. There are hidden doors behind the frame they are build into.
Man, oh man! Jeanne McDonald out did herself with this book. It is no surprise that I adore Jeanne McDonald's writing style. Her description and placement of detail will have you living the book with her characters.
This book went outside her normal wheelhouse and she hit it right out of the ballpark folks!! You instantly get sucked into the word of Politically Incorrect from that very first page.
Jeanne took a scenario and reversed the playing field with her dominate, independent, job-focused older leading lady Elizabeth McNeal. And it was about stinking time someone wrote a woman that I could connect with and was not a pushover. Elizabeth is a powerhouse that is a force to be reckoned with. She is the best at what she does and no one outplays her when it comes to politics.
That is until she is hired to win Congressman William Baxter the democratic senate seat. If William wins he will be the youngest senator the state of Texas has ever had. Talk about the perfect drive to get Elizabeth to dive into this challenge head first. What possibly could go wrong?
William “Liam” Baxter is not your usual congressman. Yes, He has the dashing good looks, honorable background, but he does not play dirty. This man is all about his honesty and how to truly help the people. Liam is no puppet on a string and has no qualms letting anyone know that he is not for hire.
Liam's character is the perfect man I tell ya. He is probably my favorite leading man right now. He left me squirming with his dirty talk, panting with his desire for Liz and completely swooning with how he treated his lady.
I absolutely loved the chemistry between Liam and Elizabeth in this book. These two are the perfect power couple. The playful banter these two characters had left me in stitches. You never knew what Liz was going to say. I really love this leading lady hardcore!!!
Add the fact that Liam knew just how to drive Liz crazy with his sexy ways was the perfect bonus. The sexual tension in this book was smoldering in just the right way. Liam is one sexy, dirty talking man that knew just how to push Liz past the point of reason if he could just get her out of her own head.
I cannot forget the supporting cast in this book. Jeanne did a great job at keeping her characters engaged and moving forward with this story.
If you are looking for a book you can get completely lost in Politically Incorrect is the book for you.
Elizabeth McNeal is a successful woman in a man’s world. As a political strategist, she has to be. When she’s enlisted to manage the campaign of a man 10 years her junior who is to run for a seat in the Senate, she finds herself unnerved by his good looks, infuriated by his need to be in the midst of everything and challenged every step of the way. This is rather difficult for a woman used to be in control, calling the shots for her clients without being questioned because face it, she’s the best there is and that’s why they hire her. William “Liam” Baxter is a young Congressman from Texas. He is charismatic, engaging and charming in his public persona and a strong, dominant man in private, but he’s always honest and that proves his most disarming quality. He is not one to shy away from a challenge and that’s what his new campaign manager is from the moment they meet: a challenge he’ll take head on both professionally and personally. The chemistry between Liam and Elizabeth is insane from the moment they meet and, despite Elizabeth’s initial apprehensions, they develop an amazing work relationship that will eventually lead to so much more. With the backdrop political intrigue brought by the race for the Senate seat, they will have to navigate a blooming relationship and the consequences it might have to both their careers and public images. This book is a fast ready that has romance, intrigue, some really steamy sex and great main and secondary characters. I enjoyed the writing, the characters’ interaction, the banter, not only between Liam and Elizabeth, but with Aaron, Scout and even Jordyn, and the great storyline. In a nutshell, I really liked this book and I hope others will too.
4.5 stars *A copy was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*
I first have to say I love Jeanne McDonald's writing style, her books are rich in dialog and exposition and I am so happy that Politically Incorrect doesn't disappoint.
Elizabeth has been a political consultant for years and she is the best in the business. She is at a point in her career and personal life that she is unapologetic for who she is and is fine with that. The only person she worries about impressing is her grown daughter. Elizabeth has decided a long time ago that she is ok with this and is happy with her life, she doesn't need a man, that is until she meets Liam her latest candidate who happens to be 10 years younger than she is. Liam is young, handsome and ethical. The chemistry between them is off the charts and Elizabeth knows that not only is her attraction wrong professionally it's wrong because he is too young. When the attraction is on both sides they throw caution aside to see if they are meant to be.
Told from Elizabeth's POV you really feel her hesitation as well as her growing attraction. I loved Liam's personality he is dominate, sweet, and vulnerable, Ms McDonald does a fantastic job rolling all this into one man without making him seem to good to be true. The story takes its time exploring their relationship so when the romance really begins to heat up it sizzles off the page. There is 1 major twist towards the end which was good as well. If I had 1 criticism it would be that I want to know more about Liam and his feelings, would have been great to see both POVS but at the end this is Elizabeth's story so I get why the author made this choice.
All in all another great book by this fantastic author, I can't wait to see what she writes next.
Jeanne McDonald has written a compelling story that mixes politics and romance together. I am a big fan of these types of stories and was not disappointed with politically incorrect. Politically incorrect was a perfect combination of romance, politics, humour and drama.
Congressmen Liam Baxter was an honest and sexy male character. Liam made me swoon many times with the things that he says to Elizabeth and other times he made me laugh with his ties that he wore. I loved the way that Liam protected the women that he loves and the way that he speaks about them.
Elizabeth was a fierce character that was very strong and determine in her work. Many said described her being a cold hearted bitch, but I saw her as a strong woman that is driven to be the best in her career while being a single mother at the same time. She had a great relationship with her daughter and I laughed so much during their banter. It was great to see the ways that Elizabeth let down her walls to let Liam.
Politically Incorrect is about Elizabeth McNeal who is a political strategist and has a new client Congressmen Liam Baxter. Liam is running for a seat in the senate and hires Elizabeth to work with him. Feelings between them start to develop which causes problems to arise with the age difference between the characters and the fact that Liam is a client of Elizabeth.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and found the story to be really interesting. I enjoyed the characters and the secondary characters within the book. The story had a lot of things I love in books, politics, friendship, betrayal and love. I would definitely recommend this story to fans of political romance.
An older woman. A younger man. A handler. A politician. Instant attraction and desire. A scandal in the making. On the surface, Politically Incorrect is scandalous, but deep down it's about a woman, who's so good at her job she uses it as a shield. She convinces herself that being on the sidelines is what's best, when really, she was born to shine.
Elizabeth McNeal is the best in handling wayward politicians and helping them rise to greatness. She has a daughter attending college and she lives to work, making herself available to her clients at all hours of the day.
When her best friend, Harper asks her to meet a new potential Senator, she meets the enigmatic man and of course, sparks fly.
William Baxter is an entirely too good looking, ex-military serviceman who instantly makes Elizabeth's blood sing. It's not everyday that someone can get to Elizabeth, and yet she feels the strong pull towards him.
Of course, the problem is he's her client. And a politician. And ten years younger than her.
What's a girl to do?
The sexual tension, angst, off the charts desire that Jeanne McDonald puts into this book is addicting! Told entirely from Elizabeth's point of view, this book is filled with a woman fighting her love for her job and her love for a man who's forbidden.
I absolutely loved this scandalous page turner! It was funny, but also had a lot of heart. There are twists and turns and intrigue that kept me fully entertained. Elizabeth is a strong, feisty woman who was a joy to read about.
Politically Incorrect was OH SO Correct!! This was my first book by author Jeanne McDonald and after reading the synopsis I knew I had to meet Liz and Liam. I adored Eliza-bitch...in so many way. She was freaking amazing. It was nice to finally see a strong, powerful and confident woman that was not afraid to go after a career and life that she wanted. Liz made no excuses for her success and I LOVE that about her. In romance novels the male character typically 'takes over' the female lead; not in this book. Liz was powerful, commanding and knew exactly what she wanted. The emotional and physically struggle Liz faced as she tried to come to terms with her feelings for Liam where palatable, forceful and tangible. I won't give too much away but Liam is a cheeky monkey and I know that I want some more. I loved the unconventional twist of the older woman younger man and Jeanne portrayed this dynamic with grace and a sexiness that one feels when reading this book. Liam was a worthy opponent for Liz. There interactions where off the hook. He gave as well as she did and it was HOT. One thing I was not expecting was how much I would love the secondary characters. They truly added to the story and interactions of Liz and Liam. 5 Flaming Hot Stars for this book.
Wow!! This book was so good, it was totally different to anything I've ever read. It was filled with lots of laugh out loud moments. Not to mention, some seriously hot, steamy encounters, that will have you fanning yourself. Loved all the characters, and hope there is a follow on to this book....
Elizabeth is a strong, kickass, take nonsense, political strategist. She's the best in her line of work, and didn't get there, by bowing down to anybody...
Congressman William Baxter is to be Elizabeth's next client. He's strong, considerate and drop dead gorgeous. He's the kind of man that would give anyone a run for their money...
From the moment these two meet, sparks fly. Neither one will back down, and they fight each other every step of the way...
Can Elizabeth fight her feelings for the sexy Congressman?
Jeanne McDonald stretches her writing fingers with her new book as she presents a strong female lead that has as much moxie as she does prowess in her field.
Elizabeth is a smart, older woman. A like able character that holds no punches. In her career as a campaign manager, she's the best. She's just cold and calculating enough to get her candidate to the top. But when she agrees to take on the younger Liam Baxter in his campaign for Senator, her determination to keep things professional begins to crumble.
Liam is hot, charming, witty, and intelligent. His lure to Elizabeth is as unnerving as his wretched ties. And while she tries hard to not cross professional lines, Liam knows all the right buttons to push to allow those lines to blur and fade.
The buildup is sweet and strong, the story is a HEA that you can't miss.
Baxter for President!! Politically Incorrect explores rhe relationship between the sexy William "Liam" Baxter and the strong willed Texas woman who is tasked with helping him get further in his political career. Elizabeth is sassy and charming and definitely no damsel in distress. She can hold her own against the best of them, and knows how to get what she wants. Sparks fly between Liam and Eliabeth from the very beginning and reading their story unfold was quite a treat. From ugly ties to the dark side of politics Jeanne McDonald nailed it. Her words were well written in this witty, fast paced, story of determimation, betrayal, lust and love. Without a doubt a steamy five star read⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Jeanne McDonald is a talented storyteller. I really enjoyed looking behind the scenes of Liam’s political campaign. I liked him immensely. He’s mature and wise beyond his years, and it’s therefore not in the least surprising that he gravitates toward older women. In fact, this pair is beautifully matched. I was completely comfortable with the age gap, which is rare for me. In most stories I’ve read about an older woman and a younger man, the relationship reads as a little creepy. Not so in this book. These two complement each other very nicely. It's a steamy book but primarily a love story.
This was a great book and very appropriate for election time. It was fun to see a behind the scenes kind of thing. Elizabeth is a powerhouse of a woman. Laim is the perfect candidate. I loved the interaction between the two. I am a fan of Jeanne's books so I highly recommend.
A really great and very enjoyable political read. Really loved both Elizabeth and Liam's characters and absolutely loved the immediate chemistry and build up between these two. Will definitely be checking out more books by this author now for sure. Full review can be found at https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
3.87 -Sweet erotic romance with older heroine Elizabeth and young man Liam(Senator/Congressman) in the political world. Easy to read. There is just enough political race business to make the story believable and interesting. The main heroine is full of attitude, witty and kick ass. From the start I found myself rooting for her.I loved easy banter. The only disappointment is too much sweetness in the end and the other half of the book is too quick. The only thing I would have liked to hear would have been Liam's thoughts. So if you are looking for a quick, easy fun read, this is your book ... I also recommend it if you want a little break from other books.
