Born partially deaf, Adaline Lang is used to feeling like an outsider within her community, but there was one boy who changed that and she fell in love. During her cousin's wedding, she comes face-to-face with him again, only to find out that he is in love with someone else. What will she do to finally be heard and convince him that the perfect woman he has been looking for is standing right in front of him?
Dominic Vikhrov is caught between a rock and a hard place. The woman he has fawned after for many years has finally returned to the United States. But he isn't the only one who is fighting for her heart. Never one to lose, Dominic has his eyes on the prize no matter the cost. But will his tunnel vision blind him to something even greater?
While Adaline is a much stronger person than Sasha was in Wallflower 1...the story just lacks something else...it's comes off more as Sasha and Dimitri's story with Dominic and Adaline as supporting cast including Teagan, Carter,Slade etc...and then most annoying was Dina and Dominic and Slade's mess...it was fair to Adaline and Dominic..they deserved to have a more developed storyline including very important lead up to Adaline losing her virginity at age 30...I mean come on...Teagan and Carter was in the living room...and there was no wining and dining...no...wham bam thank you ma'am...very classless..especially with 2 classy characters...I think these characters deserved a lot more.
Adaline is a deaf woman (she's no wallflower) in love with her high school crush, Dominic. They reconnect 10 years later at the wedding of Adaline's cousin Carla. Then and now, he is friendly, but he doesn't acknowledge nor reciprocate her feelings for many different reasons.
Wanting a change of scenery, she moves to Boston where Dominic lives. They rekindle their friendship and she desires to have more, while he is unsure as he is recovering from his own heartache. He eventually and reluctantly acknowledges feelings for her but he's not sure where it wants it all to lead. Finally realizing she's sick of his crumbs, she makes a decision to move on with her life. Will Dominic finally be ready to be a couple? Will Adaline still care?
I read this book on Kindle Unlimited. Another good instalment in this series.
I liked Adaline a lot and I was upset with Dominic the way he kept overlooking her and making her feel second fiddle, whether it was intentional or not.
Whilst I enjoyed the story, it would have been good to see how this couple over came the obstacle of Dominic's father , who is a racist and how they as a couple presented to others who did not think they should be together. This would have made this a 5 star read for me.
This was still an enjoyable story and one I would recommend it.
A sweet story with a HEA ending. Adaline is deaf and feels like an outcast in the wealthy, white and privileged community she lives in with her aunt, uncle and cousin Carla. Dominic befriended her in high school out of pity and kindness but Adaline fell for him. He wasn't interested then but fast forward 10+ years and it all changes. But the reasons why seem so lame.
There were things about this book that confused me like the constant reference to Adaline needing to be a part of the American Sign Language (ASL) community because if her disability. She had a Cocklear implant, read lips and use sign language to communicate. Shouldn't she want to be a part of the deaf community? Also, why in the 21st century would people assume the speech pattern of a deaf person means that the person is intellectually disbled or deficient?
Tons of strange and awkward word choices that made the author appear to be trying too hard to be smart, and some grammar errors. The characters are boring, there isn't much of a romance story to grab and hold our interest, and no suspense. Loose ends about. I found myself skipping pages and not caring is Adaline and Dominic ever got their HEA . I don't recommend investing the time in this book.
The first two books of this three book series were better. If there is a four book I won't be reading it.
Where was the romance? These two, Adaline and Dominic, I realized after completing the book never went out on a single date. I understand the book was mostly about getting these two together, but there was no wining or dining. It was Adaline having an unrequited crush on Dom for 10+ years, and him being slow on the uptake to realize 'gee, I like her after all', which I had trouble believing and felt flashbacks where created to justify his change of heart. This wasn't a bad book at all, grammar/copy edit issues notwithstanding. But the only character I found myself feeling anything for was Murphy, Adaline's "boyfriend' who was pretty much a stand in for Dominic. I will say that I felt the road it took Dominic to get over his ex Dina was realistic, unfortunately it overshadowed his burgeoning feelings for Adaline. Another positive I can add is that Adaline wasn't a wilting wallflower like Sasha had been, she did have moments of standing up for herself. I just needed something more from this book. Probably just more romantic development between Dominic and Adaline.
This book is everything and has everything you love. This book made me laugh cry I was rooting for all the characters except her aunt and cousin. Her auntie unresolved issues with her sister that she placed on her orphaned nieces young shoulder is what to me created problems between the cousins but her cousin is responsible for her I don't want to be a better person attitude in the end. I loved her uncle's honesty, I can appreciate Dominic's AHAH moment when it came to Dina. This is wonderful I highly recommend this is a great read I hope there more series from R.J. Fletcher because my first time reading this Wallflower series but I can already tell it will be one that I will tend to re-read again and again just wonderful series.
Another great story about being healed of childhood hurts and embracing the love 💘 destined for you. I loved Dominic in The Wallflower series, his story was just as beautiful. I enjoyed seeing Reagan with Carter, now that Dina 😞 frustrated me to no 👎 end. I did miss Nadia being there for her nephews baby shower and birth. R.J, Fletcher on my list of author's i just read.
I read the first two books many moons ago and I just came across this one. I found myself reading the whole series again. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm kinda hoping to read Dina and Slade's story. There is definitely an interesting dynamic there.
Great love story. Something different. A hearing impaired heroine, loved her. Dominic finally addressed his problems and got his woman. Hope to read Dina and Slade's story.
My second time reading this book.Just proves no matter how different we all are there's someone for everyone😀 However....I would have loved to know the story of Dina and Slade(hint hint).
Adeline and Dominic's story made me want to cry! It's a shame that people equate deafness with lacking intelligence, but that is how it is! I cheered all the way for these two and I was happy they got their happy ever after! Great book!
Adaline is book three in the Wallflower series by R. J. Fletcher. Characters from the first two books are heavily featured and we get to catch up with Sasha and Dimitri. This story is shorter and gives Dominic some backstory. Unfortunately, the storyline contained too much emphasis on Dominic pining for Dina before realizing that he truly loved Adaline. Dina was an annoying character and I was glad to see that we didn't get anymore focus on her. Adaline was a strong character and she deserved more attention. She and Dominic made a good couple once he got his head in the game!
I just loved the characters especially Adaline. She was feisty, honest, strong yet vulnerable. I so wanted her to have her HEA. She deserved it and so did Dominic. I am glad she did not let him walk all over her and that she valued herself. Good on her! Dominic was also a likeable character but he needed to understand his own feelings. It was great to see Sasha and Dimitri again. I would like to see if Dina and Slade work things out. All in all, a fabulous read. Some typographical errors which, though annoying, did not detract from the plot. I need to go to bed now! I have to be up in 2 hours!! Oops! Thank you Ms. Fletcher it was so worth it! When are bringing out another book. I have devoured all your books currently on Amazon!
Wanted to read this for ages, finally got the opportunity and yeah, well it bombed out for me.
Was really interested in the fact that the heroine (Adaline) was deaf. I also (my own fault) thought Adaline, would be shy, a wallflower type of person. Hello, anything but...........
I struggled reading this book, at times I felt like adding it to my "Did not finish" pile but I persevered. I didn't feel the romance/love connection between Adaline and Dominic. The thing with Domin's ex Dina, too much drama.
This was such a very good story and I loved the fact that we get to see two people deal with not only circumstances beyond their control, but also deal with those that don't want it to work. You will not be disappointed if you continue to read this series its fun and sexy and just plain good.
Through adversity Adaline and Dominic wound up together. The disability was not on Adaline's part but that of Dominic. His suppressed emotions. I enjoyed how Sasha and Dominic's story interwoven with this one. Kudos.
I loved their story! Adaline had always loved him, but Dominic had some growing up to do. My heart broke for Adaline and her mistreatment when she was growing up, but she got passed it. Another great book by R.J. Fletcher.
Is this the end of the Wallflower series or is there more stories to come? I enjoyed this story even though the heroine was almost annoying in the beginning
