Waterborne is a preternatural tale of the Atlantic layered with the textures, colours, and voices of the sea. With her mother, she also recognizes the true identity of the beautiful young man she has befriended. Waterborne is a compelling and emotionally intense novel about transformation and human desire. Waterborne is the story of Stella who grew up in a very dysfunctional family and was dysfunctional herself. Even though the events were often disturbing I could not put it down. I have not yet decided what to make of the ending.
