The Golden Age Book: Dutch Paintings

Rate this book
- Presents a sweeping artistic overview from one of the most remarkable periods in Dutch historyA compact edition of The Great Golden Age Book published in 2014 The seventeenth century is often known as the Dutch Golden Age, not only because of the great wealth the country amassed but also because of the impressive cultural flowering that took place during this period. The art of painting in particular reached a high point, with Rembrandt, Vermeer, van Ruisdael, Jan Steen, and Van de Velde, among others. Many highly talented artists created masterpieces that still evoke our admiration more than four centuries later; their paintings are the jewels in the collections of museums all over the world. This book includes both well-known and lesser- known painters who were prominent during this period, and is an excellent visual resource.
