Chase Brothers #4

The 48-Hour Hookup

Rate this book
Who knew a sweaty photo would be good for business?

Now unwanted booty calls are coming in as fast as work orders, and Liam Chase needs to get away. Cue a job upstate. His new client is hot as hell, but he left NYC to escape attention, not to hook up with the city’s “Runaway Bride”.

With three disastrous relationships under her belt, it’s clear Claire Stevens’s judgment sucks. And what’s she’s feeling for America’s newest sex god? Obviously another hormone-fueled mistake.

But when she accidentally fells a tree on his truck, leaving them stranded in a winter storm with a chocolate-snatching raccoon, there’s something to be said for body heat.

Too bad neither can trust their explosive chemistry…

Sarah and her husband of what he calls “many long, long years” live on the mid-Atlantic coast with their six young children, all of whom are perfectly adorable when they’re asleep. She never dreamed of becoming an author, but as a homeschooling mom, she often jokes she writes fiction because if she wants anyone to listen to her, she has to make them up. (As it turns out, her characters aren’t much better than the kids). When not buried under piles of laundry, she may be found adrift in the Atlantic (preferably on a boat) or seeking that ever-elusive perfect writing spot where not even the kids can find her.

She loves creating unforgettable stories while putting her characters through an unkind amount of torture—a hobby that has nothing to do with living with six children. (Really.) Though she adores nail-biting mystery and edge-of-your-seat thrillers, Sarah writes in many genres including contemporary and ghostly paranormal romance. Her ever-growing roster of releases may be found on her website.

Claire Stevens knows a thing or two (or three) about unworthy men. Calling off one wedding after she found her groom in flagrante with a catering assistant, as well as her second wedding when she found out her fiancé only wanted her to get ahead professionally, the NYC TV reporter has been dubbed “The Runaway Bride.” Hoping to escape the media attention, Claire lands upstate at her family’s rundown lodge and in desperate need of an HVAC repair.

Enter Liam Chase, who just so happens to be in the HVAC repair business. After a hawt, sweaty picture of Liam repairing a customer’s unit (air conditioning, people! Get your head out of the gutter!) went viral, memes anointing him “Hot HVAC Guy” meant unwanted fame for the slightly awkward man. When a call comes to head upstate for a repair estimate, Liam jumps at the chance to get out of the city.

Did someone call for a repairman?

Despite the fact the two are wildly attracted to one another and the little inconvenience of getting snowed in together, both Claire and Liam agree nothing romantic can happen between them. If the press ever caught onto a relationship, the infamy in both their lives would never die down. You know what they say about the best laid plans and all the jazz, right?

I enjoyed The 48-Hour Hookup but like the other books in this series, I was disappointed just a little with the hero. These Chase boys all seem to drag their feet towards their happily ever afters and Liam was no exception.

In some other world, where he’d never been Hot HVAC Guy, and she was someone he could associate with without inevitably dragging them both back into the headlines, maybe. But not in this world.

That pretty much sums it up. I enjoyed the story and will definitely continue to read books written by this author, but I’m hoping for a less gun shy male protagonist the next go around. A little actual couple page time never hurt anyone.

The 48-Hour Hookup was a fun, sweet and entertaining read.

The characters were likable, endearing and kept me turning the pages with their story.
I liked Liam and Claire together, they made a cute couple who found love when they least expected it.

description

The epilogue left me with a heart full of feels as we got to enjoy the Chase brothers one last time.

Overall The 48-Hour Hookup is a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

The Chase Brothers series has been a sweet, fun and entertaining read. I've enjoyed watching all the Chase brothers find their perfect partner and their happily ever after.
I'm sad to see the series end.

This is a laugh out loud, hilarious romance and I loved it from start to finish!

After a client shared a photo of Liam Chase on the internet he gained an unwanted reputation as the hot HVAC Guy, with so many phone calls from admiring females he's really ready to escape. When an opportunity to do so arises - going to check out and give a quote for repairs to an air conditioning system up in the mountains, he jumps at the chance - a chance that will change his life! To start with he reaches the destination fine but, just after he gets out of his nearly new truck, a tree lands on it.

It turns out that he's not the only one escaping to the mountains - the home owner whose property he's come to assess is the reporter Claire Stevens - who is now better known as the city's 'Runaway Bride' after three of her relationships have ended acrimoniously. She's using a pseudonym but both recognise each other and their mutual attraction is off the scale.

This is a story where two people who are endeavouring to avoid relationships get thrown together and find romance. I loved Stanley, what a great character but I'm very glad he'll never be visiting my home! All you need then is a snow storm to strand them together, a pesky racoon and plenty of a wonderfully written story for a highly entertaining read.

Many thanks to Entangled Publishing for gifting me an ARC of this novel via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

The 48 hour hookup was a nice quick read. I really enjoyed the humor that Ballance added in to the story. Liam is known as the Hot HVAC guy and Claire is known as the Runaway Bride. Both are not happy about the added attention and are out of the city trying to stay under the radar. Well when a storm hits and strands Liam at Claires doing an estimate, well his truck definitely cannot work after being hit by the tree she cut down haha
Liam was written in a way that I felt for him and his unfortunate good looks. He was being portrayed as a piece of meat that the girls are just going crazy after. He is not good with relationships and has no idea how to talk to females in that sense.
Claire, being in non successful long term relationships has sworn off relationships. She has built a hard wall around her heart. That storm that came in, may be cold but there is nothing but heat between the two of them.

Since I haven't technically read it, I'm not gonna rate it (and I don't want to mess up the good rating the book has here). The thing is, the book is fine while you're reading it. The problem for me was, once I'd put it down, I didn't feel the pull to pick it up again and continue reading.

At first I was a bit annoyed, I thought it was going to be another generic small town romance, but then Liam, the hero, made a fool out of himself a couple of times with his awkward flirting that somehow convinced me to continue reading. It was refreshing, because you see, all these heroes in contemporary romance novels are extremely hot and charming and clever and have all the muscles, and then comes this hero, who granted, is so hot he burns the clothes off his back (and the author won't let you forget how hot he is), and he is awkward. And you can't but love it a bit. What ruined the effect for me was when all of a sudden he's articulate and master of flirting.

The heroine was a wreck. Constantly wallowing in self pity, all she had going for herself is that she's gorgeous without make-up I guess. Oh, just as with his hotness, the author won't let you forget just how gorgeous and beautiful whats-her-name is. See, I can't even remember her name, she's that unimportant. Seriously, 15 mins ago I was still reading this book and for the life of me I can't remember her name.

So the general consensus is the book's not impressive. The only thing I thought was cool is that the heroine knew how to use a chainsaw. I'd like to know that. You never know when it might come in handy.

ETA: Oh, I looked up her name on the blurb. It's Claire. I knew it was something beginning with the letter C.

Our heroine has the paparazzo following her about as the 'runaway bride' because she walked away from three different relationships. That's why she spends some time at the old house in the woods left to her by her uncle. Unfortunately she needs help with the central air and heat.
Enter the Chase brothers. Our hero is the youngest and farthest from wanting a relationship. Especially since an impromptu photo goes viral and make him the recipient of his own paparazzo. So a few days out of the city sounds like a great idea. Until he meets the heroine and she lands a tree on his new truck.
Excellent story with wonderful characters. So much romance!

The book throws you right into the story and I really enjoyed it at the beginning. There are some seriously hilarious scenes and Liam and Claire had some sizzling chemistry.

I also enjoyed the wintery blizzard atmosphere and had a lot of fun getting to know the characters. Liam was a great guy and I liked Claire as well. Their social media fame was pretty entertaining. Still I think their characters remained a bit shallow.

To the end everything felt pretty rushed and I had the feeling I missed out on the important parts. Some more pages would have been better ere.

The writing style is easy and enjoyable to read.

The Runaway Bride and the Hot HVAC Guy. Imagine the fame these two, already famous (or infamous, depending on where you're standing) in their own right would garner, if their relationship was ever made public. Imagine the media blitz and memes that would follow.

Only, behind the labels are two people who just want their lives to be normal. For both Claire and Liam, the fame has made their every day jobs impossible to do and hiding out in upstate New York is the ideal thing to do. However, with their infamy, there can be nothing between them beyond the stolen hours they share while riding out the storm. But we know that such things never go as planned, so how will Liam and Claire deal when their liaison inevitably becomes public knowledge?

With a set-up like this, one would expect this to be the perfect fun and lighthearted story, which it was in some aspects. However, I totally couldn't get into it and I'll tell you why: Liam. I never got a feel for who the youngest Chase brother really was from previous books and he came across as boring in this book. Claire was the more likable character here and made me sympathize with her.
I really expected to enjoy this book as I have everything I've read from the author, but it ended up being just okay. My favorite part about this book was the end where the family was brought together for a sweet and happy ending. However, I'll recommend reading it to see if it's for you.

Finally it's Liam's turn! The fourth of the Chase brothers finds his match in a sweet and sexy story with a 'we're trapped in a snowstorm, whatever will we do to pass the time!' theme. Liam's sudden bout of internet fame due to a chance photo tagging him as the 'Hot HVAC Guy' has resulted in far too much unwanted attention for him and the family business so an out of town call to check out a ski lodge is what he needs for a little privacy. He doesn't expect to run into another unhappy internet celebrity - the Runaway Bride, Claire, who had the misfortune of leaving her third man at the altar (all for good reasons!). Her television journalism job means her face is familiar to the public and she can't wait for her fifteen minutes of fame to be over and done with. But meanwhile she's hiding out at the family lodge, bequeathed to her from her uncle. When Liam arrives, an unfortunate tree falling incident puts his truck out of commission, followed quickly by a snowstorm bad enough to keep them stranded. Both in hiding, they've got no choice but to make the best of things and so they do, slowly opening up to each other in the process and trying but failing to ignore the sexual attraction between them. They share some sexy scenes together, yet Liam's awkward ways with women have him putting his foot in his mouth more than once. They both acknowledge that the relationship of sorts they've built won't be sustainable back in the city, but it doesn't stop them from soon realizing that things without each other aren't so great either. We get a sweet happy ending for them that brings the whole family together. It's an enjoyable and entertaining story, with some laugh out loud scenes, and it was great to see the other brothers and their partners make some cameos. The Chase brothers series remains among my favorites!

“Am I allowed to laugh at this?” Yes. Yes I am. Sarah Ballance has written a LOL love story which made me laugh more than I thought was possible. From start to finish The 48-Hour Hookup was the p-e-r-f-e-c-t read!

I’ve wanted to read Sarah Ballance and her Chase Brothers series for awhile now. Silly me just never took the time to do so, though I have purchased all the books in the series. Yes, I’m a book hoarder. So, she was always on my one day read list. Well, that one day has arrived with The 48-Hour Hookup. I didn't even bother to read the blurb, I just went into reading blind.

I love the stranded together due to weather storylines. Plus, the storyline played out along the lines of one of my favorite movies, The Runaway Bride. I don’t know what to say about this book, except it’s everything I wanted in a romance. The characters are easy for fall in love with.

Argh, how to start this review?

I like Sarah Ballance novels, yet I have to confess "like" is an average of "adore" and "heartily dislike", this one, however, fell squarely into the "like" middle-zone.

The premise sounded a lot of fun. Claire Steven's, famous as the TV newscaster who left two men at the altar and consequently known as "The Runaway Bride" has holed up in her family's old upstate resort which has fallen into disrepair after her uncle's death to avoid the press commentary and a tell-all expose by her latest ex. When her boiler stops working a few days before Christmas she calls a New York plumbing firm, not realising that the man coming to fix her boiler is none other than the notorious "Hot HVAC Guy".

Liam Chase's life has been hell ever since a photo of him was snapped, hot and sweaty without his shirt, now labelled Hot HVAC Guy his family HVAC business has been inundated with women (and some men) calling for more than just boiler repairs. An introvert with little ability to charm the ladies, Liam finds it all distressing and jumps at the opportunity to fix a broken boiler upstate.

When Liam arrives, Claire is chopping down a Christmas tree to put in the cavernous hallway of the resort, a tree which falls on Liam's truck. As the snow fall gets heavier Hot HVAC Guy and The Runaway Bride find they have a lot more than just notoriety in common.

Maybe I should have read this closer to Christmas. Maybe I should have read the previous Chase brother books and then this would have felt like a suitable schmaltzy end to a series. This just felt a little too Christmas Special, too cutesy and too Hallmark for what still feels like Summer here in the UK.

An enjoyable read but save it for closer to Christmas.

3.5 stars

As I was reading The 48 Hour Hookup it became apparent that this was the fourth book in the series and while it didn't really affect my feelings on this book, I couldn't help thinking that I might be missing some crucial background on all of the characters especially the four brothers. Two strangers, both infamous in their own way are stranded together during an unexpected snowstorm and can't help but act on the attraction between them. I liked these characters well enough, but for me this book was missing that wow factor I always look for when I read.

Liam Chase is so tired of fending off women after a picture and meme of him called Hot HVAC Guy goes viral, so when given the opportunity to go out of town to give an estimate he hops on it. What he doesn't expect is to find Claire Stevens, The Runaway Bride who is at her family's unopened resort and in need of his HVAC services.

This book had a cute premise and I liked that they both had a brush with fame they wish they could live down. I enjoyed the time they spent talking and getting to know one another as well as their sexy times, but what didn't work for me is their reasoning of why they couldn't see each other again after they got back to NYC. I felt it was weak at best especially given how good they were together, how much the genuinely liked one another, and the fact that they were both developing feelings for one another.

While I appreciated the hero's big gesture towards the end, it would have been way more romantic without an audience and given they didn't really have a lot of romantic moments, it was needed.

Overall, The 48 Hour Hookup was an enjoyable book.

What happens when the notorious Runaway Bride meets up with the Hot HVAC Guy? Sparks fly, of course!

Liam Chase needs a break. A break from the notoriety he received from an innocent photograph. So, when he has the ability to break free from New York City to head upstate, Liam cannot pack a bag fast enough. But all hell breaks loose when he arrives at the inn—a tree falls on his truck, crushing it. Oh, and there’s a storm coming in…

Claire Stevens is not having a good day—a good year, if you’re counting. She’s trying to fix up the old inn her uncle left her. Trying to break away from being the lead story in the news as the “Runaway Bride”, and the gossip and scorn that followed. When she accidentally cuts down the tree that takes out Liam’s truck, Claire can’t believe how her bad luck continues. But is it really all that bad to be snowed in with one of the hottest men in the Tri-State area, when the only heat available is body heat?

The 48-Hour Hookup is a quick, funny, sexy read. Liam and Claire are adorable together—neither can keep their hands off each other. The scenes with the raccoon are laugh-out-loud funny. I love the interactions with all the Chase brothers and their parents. It’s a shame there are only four brothers—I’d love to read more in the series! ~ Missy, 4.5 stars

Some hilarious fun with a racoon, a handyman-non-handy-man, a sexy HAVC guy, a runaway bride, a large tree branch, a snow storm, and some hot, sweaty fun. I was entertained all the way through this read.

Chase was infamous for all the wrong reasons and getting away from it all was at the top of his list of must dos. Claire was not having any better of a time and being dubbed NYC “Run-away Bride” was no joy for her. Needing an escape, she goes upstate New York and needs more help than she anticipated. When the help arrive she gets way more than she bargained for.

The read was fun, a little quirky, some minor drama, some shared body heat, some easy banter, and bad publicity. This was my first read from Sarah Balance and this series. I was tickled. Can two people both with their own infamous history truly find what neither was looking for?

This is my first Chase Brothers book. It's also my first Sarah Ballance book. I have to say I am impressed! I will have to look into getting some of the other Chase brothers on my radar... ;-)

Liam and Claire's chemistry was out of this world. I could feel their heat seeping through the pages. Their witty banter was hilarious! Oh how I would have loved to be in the woods with them. (Shhh. I know I'd be a third wheel, but they are totally the kind of friends I'd have).

Sarah's writing is exquisite and her words have that 'jump off the page' effect. It's cute, it's sexy, it's light-hearted. However, this is an insta-whatever book. Lust, attraction, love, whichever one you want to call it. :-D Those are sometimes my guilty pleasures... This book came at the perfect time. And it also has the Christmas-ey feel to it. Which of course, it's September. But I mean, stores already have Christmas decorations, so it's just perfect timing all around, right?

Get to reading!

Okay, so this seems to be a new habit of mine... Find a book, start reading and then realise it is part of a series and I started on the lasted book in the series! Thankfully the books in this series can all be read as standalones.

Loved this book though. If you are looking for a quick, funny, romantic story this is definitely it.

4.5 stars - Fun & sexy fast paced insta-attraction stranded romance between two infamous people that develops into an intense & supposedly temporary fling

The 48-hour Hookup is a fun and sexy fast paced insta-attraction romance that develops into an intense but supposedly temporary fling, after getting stranded in a mountain lodge by a snow storm, between two infamous people who are both desperate not to bring more attention to themselves. The pace of this book is obviously fast paced (as given away by the title) but it does work well and never feels rushed. However, I would say you have to be open to falling in love quickly and to fully enjoy and embrace this book, although personally I found you kind of forget the time frame with how the author develops the story.

Liam and Claire tell the book from dual perspectives, slightly more Liam’s views but definitely enough of Claire’s too to really understand her. Liam and Claire have a sweet, intense instant attraction and fling between two people who have ended up being infamous for things out of their control after unfortunate circumstances trap them together, forcing them to grow closer. Both characters clearly have emotional flaws after events in their pasts but were so likeable, especially Liam who is a slightly quiet and awkward, but oh so loveable, normal sexy male. One thing that is really touching is Liam’s speech and determined declaration towards the end of the book; it was such a sweet thing that I personally loved and is one of those scenes that brings a smile to your face if you are a big romance fan.

The 48-hour Hookup is a sweet, well written, full length, HEA christmas story with just enough tension and drama to make it an addictive page turner that I just couldn’t stop reading. There is a good development of characters and plot despite the fast pace of the book (obviously given the time period but it does get drawn out to equate to a little longer but not much more towards the end of the book). The book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone; I personally haven’t read any other books yet in this particular series and didn’t feel lost or confused at all. Although it incorporates a Christmas theme, if you are a bit apprehensive about that, be assured Christmas isn’t the focus point of this story, more just the general winter time of year setting.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I would strongly recommend you give this story a read. Definitely 4.5 stars!

This book was so much fun to read about! I loved how funny it was at parts and I greatly enjoyed it. Plus the emotional and romantic drama was the perfect mixture!

Liam has shot to an instant fame as the Hot HVAC Guy and he's in a dire need to get out of town. When a job comes up, he snatches the opportunity to leave town for a bit but the call for help came from none other than the infamous "Runaway bride", Claire Stevens. But then the unthinkable happens, they both get stuck with each other because of the storm and the road gets cut off. They both need normalcy and that's never going to happen if they stay together but for how long can they deny the chemistry between them?

The plot was pretty great and fun. This was a short and past faced book, I easily devoured it in one sitting. Claire has run away from the altar two times already but the third time was the worst. The media gave her the ultimate nickname as the "Runaway Bride", she has swore off men but with Liam she wants to give love another chance. Liam got overnight famous when a girl shot his picture when he was in gym as the "Hot HVAC Guy". I loved how the story was executed, it was definitely not predictable but I loved the fact about that.

The characters were pretty much amazing! I loved both Claire and Liam! Liam was the only one who actually understood for who she is and didn't judge her. He was definitely swoon worthy and I loved him soo much. But he took a few bad decisions but I was glad he had his family to get him straight. I loved the gesture he did during the end to earn her forgiveness. They both had undeniable chemistry and I absolutely loved the romance between them! But I have to confess something, I especially  loved the raccoon, he was my favourite part despite everything! XD

Overall, The 48-Hour Hookup was an amazing read! I enjoyed the plot and the characters kept me interested throughout the book. I loved Liam and Claire together. The writing was smooth and easy to read. We get a glimpse of the other Chase brothers throughout the book and after reading this book I am definitely interested in reading the whole series!

I didn't think that the Chase Brothers series could get any better...but it did!!

The characters were just amazing. Poor Liam...a little socially awkward in the middle of the boisterous Chase family and the subject of a meme to boot! Although I do have to admit that I would have probably partaken in sharing that meme across the internet LOL But he really is a hard-working, stand-up guy. The type of man you can bring home to meet your parents, that you know you will be able to depend on. Then add in the hotness factor of 100+ and you have every woman's dream. And Claire...resourceful, if a bit clumsy, and the laughing stock the the media after breaking off her third engagement. But no one has cared to look beyond the surface of her very public break-ups to see that she is smart, strong, and willing to do what it takes to make sure that she has a man who will treat her right. I love that Sarah wrote Claire in such a way that she is a very big media presence but that she doesn't cave in the face of possible ridicule from people who think they know who she is because of her on-screen personality. She's a woman who knows what she deserves and will take the necessary steps to make sure that she gets it.

I loved the location as well. Being cooped up in an old lodge together, storm howling outside. It really created an atmosphere of intimacy, not just physical but emotional too. Firelight, comfy sweats and body heat...I think I melted into my recliner as I read and thought "why the hell doesn't it snow in California??" But then I remembered that I live in California because we don't get storms like that, but I digress...There isn't an immediate feeling of impending danger with the storm and it allows Liam and Claire to become closer without pressure from the outside world. In any other circumstance a "48 hour" timetable for a story would make love take a back seat to lust, but in the isolation of the lodge and the close proximity they needed for warmth, it doesn't come across as far fetched.

Then add in all of the other lovable characters who help bring Liam and Claire together ::happy sigh:: I do have to stay that Stanley is my favorite though, with the poor kid giving the sleigh ride a very close second. The ending couldn't have been any better either. But now I'm sad...no more Chase Brothers **sniff sniff** oh well, I'll just have to read them all again LOL

Claire's nickname is Runaway Bride, it's a title she doesn't deserve, but she is a famous person and there's nothing she can do to change people's opinions. After another disastrous relationship she goes to her uncle's mountain retreat. She inherited it when he died and wants to restore it to its former glory. She's hired someone to give her an estimation of the costs of this project. She wants the lodge to be the place she used to love once more.

Claire's surprised when Hot HVAC Guy appears. Apparently he's the person she hired to give her a quote and she had no idea it was his company she decided to use. Unfortunately because he's early and she didn't see him coming she wrecks his car. Hot HVAC Guy's name is Liam and Claire understands why women are swooning over him. He's gorgeous, he's kind and he's trustworthy, at least she thinks he is. Because of the weather and his broken car Liam can't leave and they are forced to spend some time together. Will they give in to their mutual attraction or will they stay away from one another, because they're both well known by the public and hooking up wouldn't be wise?

The 48-Hour Hookup is a fun and sexy story. There's a lot of chemistry between Liam and Claire and it's clear from the start there's a connection on more levels than just the physical one. Claire is sweet, clumsy and a little bit naïve, but she's also strong and independent. When she wants something she makes it happen. Liam is introverted and because of his shyness he usually screws things up with women. He has a good heart though, so when he does something wrong he wants to make it right again straight away. The misunderstandings and uneasy situations their different personality types create are amusing and they made me smile several times.

Sarah Ballance has written a great festive story. The 48-Hour Hookup ends at Christmas and the holiday aspect is the part of this book that I liked the most. It has the exact right Christmas spirit. The ending is adorable and romantic. Claire and Liam are endearing together and I kept thinking that they are both people who deserve a happy life, which is what made their story so appealing. I really enjoyed reading this cute and relaxing book.

Although on the short side The 48 Hour Hook-Up is jam-packed with both the characterisations, their interactions and their back-stories as well as the progression of the precious characters in the series. Sarah Ballance ingeniously develops the characters within the narrative by utilising their past experiences as a way of shaping their identities and endearing them to the reader.

I adored Liam, he is so adorably awkward, and equally matched to Claire. Thrown into fame from one simple instagram picture, Liam became HOT HVAC GUY (the superhero of hotness and central air, lol). Desperate to escape his notoriety he agrees to travel 3 hours away to the mountains to give a quote for a remote lodge. Liam is also a huge winter sport fan, where he lacks game he makes up for in technique ;)

Claire is also infamous in her own way, dubbed the Runaway Bride (you can't avoid images of the movie playing in your imagination if your my age) having been faced with terrible situations just before her impending nuptials. Having enough self-respect to walk away even when the media portrays her badly. Claire suffered a tragic loss and has been searching to fill the void ever since. Unfortunately, she has been looking in all the wrong places. She craves the acceptance, warmth and unconditional love she lost far too soon.

Claire and Liam's fame has been the product of other people's deeds yet has cost them both their privacy and trust in others. Both Claire and Liam are looking for an escape from reality. Brought together by fate yet kept together by a series of unique events. Can anyone say destiny ;)

I absolutely loved how awkward both Claire and Liam were yet, they fit together perfectly and actually understood the other.

For all the upheaval and negative situations Claire and Liam have faced through their notoriety, it has allowed them considerable personal growth and ensured they are on the path their lives should be on. I loved the feeling of completion at the end of the story, as well as the progression of the characters from the previous books.

This was a very fun quick and easy read, great for reading on a rainy day, or stuck in the snow somewhere maybe it will give you some inspiration on dropping a tree on someone’s car who knows where it may lead. Smile! What a way to introduce the characters, it was priceless and definitely memorable.

We meet Claire who is known in social media as the runaway bride, she’s out hiding in the woods at her family’s cabin and she somehow randomly just happens to call for an HVAC guy and it happens to be the very viral HOT HVAC Guy. Their meeting as previously stated was very memorable but there connection took a minute to generate. They are both obviously very good looking people, very much looked at on social media and neither on purpose but it just seemed to happen for whatever reason. It’s a match made in heaven really because who better to understand the struggles of trying to lead a normal life then those that were exposed publicly.

Their growing relationship does take its up and downs but man oh man how one person can be so disaster prone I’ll never know but it was definitely entertaining to watch all the mishaps happen. Overall this was a very sweet book with a cute story, in the beginning it was a little iffy but then I started to love the book and the ending was just perfect.

I hadn’t read the other books in this series yet but I’m very interested in seeing how all these couples got together. Even though I’m coming in at the end of the series it was bittersweet to watch it end but it was the sweetest ending ever. Very loving and touching there at the end. Can’t wait to see what happened with the other Chase Brothers.

This was a fun read for me, I just didn’t love is as much as I wanted (the third book is still my favorite).

Here we spend time with another of the Chase brothers: Liam. He has been dealing with some internet fame, something he doesn’t want. So, the best way is to go on a job far away from everything. Here, he meets Claire, someone also dealing with some unwanted fame.

I liked both characters overall, and I loved that Claire was still up to open her heart again. Loved that she didn’t let her really bad love experiences bring her down and define who she really was.

So, even though I loved these two, there was something about them that didn’t click with me. Maybe their romance was too fast? Maybe it was too hot-and-cold all the time? I don’t know, but their interactions, though some very sweet, didn’t completely convince me.

Still, it was an entertaining read, and loved how things turned out for the both of them. Exactly what they needed.

*Thank you to Entangled Publishing for providing an ARC in exchange of my honest opinion*

This was funny, flirty and fast-paced. The right mix if you're looking for something light to read.

I liked the characters and the setting. That cold weather, small town, and cabin in the icy woods. It was just a very enjoyable story. The addition of that raccoon was a plus!

Loved that Liam and Claire had relatable circumstances. Both got unwanted publicity and were hoping to put that behind them, so it was understandable that they'd try to avoid starting a relationship. I mean, Claire was terribly unlucky in love and couldn't seem to find a genuine guy, and Liam was treated like a hot piece of meat and nothing more. But regardless of how they wanted to evade each other, Liam and Claire were just too appealing to the one another, so their intensity only grew. And I'm glad that Liam did what he did in the end and that things worked out for the best.

Seems like a fun series and I'd love to pick up the previous 3 books and learn more about the Chase Brothers :)

I'm glad that the last chase brother got his HEA. I have found this series to be highly entertaining and this last book was clearly a great addition. The storyline was original even if the concept for one of the main characters has been used before. The author tweaked it and made it their own and then threw in another twist to make it unique. I just loved the nicknames for the main characters and could totally see how the came by them. I thought the storyline was romantic, sweet and funny. Both characters were not good at relationships and they bumbled through giving a realistic atmosphere that most anyone could relate too. Liam and Claire were a great match and I thought Stanley was a great addition to their family. This was a steady read, great characters and amusing situations. I will definitely look for more from this author.

2.5-3 stars

Maybe it is me, but this was a cute story about 2 "famous people" who have been thrown together and neither want to get involved with the other person.

Claire Stevens is knows as the runaway bride. She is a news reporter that ran out on 2 weddings and had bad luck with a 3rd boyfriend. Liam Chase is knows as the "hot HVAC" guy and made an internet sensation by some girl who took his picture and put icon social media... so now Clair is hiding out in upstate NY trying a new career of B&B where she meets Liam, who is coin up to give her an estimate. His van its wrecked by Claire, a snow storm comes, standing them, a raccoon eat their food, there is no heat.... the list goes on and on.

How could you not fall in love under those circumstances ??

A hilarious and romantic story! What happens when internet sensation, Hot HVAC guy gets stranded at a winter lodge in the middle of nowhere, with the infamous Runaway Bride? Plenty of hysterical moments, and a whole lot of steamy moments too when they use their body heat to stay warm. Do these two "celebrities" have what it takes to make a relationship work? Or will the possible ridiculing headlines have them running in opposite directions? This author is new to me, but has definitely piqued my curiosity about her other books.
