Smugglers Surprise

Rate this book
Having just saved the U.S. President by foiling a terrorist attack; former analyst and recently promoted field agent Matthew Peterson is plunged into a new mission by his bosses at Langley. For this mission, he is partnered with an unlikely Russian agent, Natasha Orlov, who also happens to be Matt's secret new lover. New CIA Director Barry Warwick takes an instant dislike to Matt and attempts to send Matt on a witch hunt to get him out of the way.

The mission, however, turns out to involve hidden treasure, ancient enemies, as well as the spectre of international terrorism in Europe.

At every turn, they are pursued by well-informed adversaries who seem to be able to anticipate their every move.

How they will finish the mission, protect their family, and perhaps begin a life together is something that will stretch their minds, the skills that make them standout operatives and their luck, perhaps to breaking point.

This tale is the sequel to Nuclear Surprise. However, no prior knowledge is required, and this book is stand alone.

I have always been a huge reader of action and thriller novels.

But as a keen shooter and martial artist, I thought I could write more realistic books!

I have always been interested in writing since I attended Trinity Grammar School in Sydney Australia. But further studies took me to other areas, and I attended University of New South Wales and University of Technology Sydney studying Mechanical Engineering and Business.

I worked for a time in my father's engineering business before opening my own business building sailing boats. This was short lived however, as the first thing you can do without in a recession is a new boat!

My interest in computers and technology led me into this area. IT has been very good to me and I have worked for a number of very large international companies. In this industry I was fortunate to do a lot of travel, particularly to Asia, France, and the U.S. I do some website design as well.

I have a training business which helps companies make better use of their telephone systems www.startap.biz

Firearms have always been an interest of mine. I have been competing in benchrest rifle competition since I was old enough to drive myself around. Best results in competition have been a 4th place in the NBRSA Nationals in the U.S., 2nd place in the World Championships 300m, and Australian Champion sporter class.

Martial arts have also been an interest of mine for many years. I have qualified for black belt in both traditional karate as well as kung fu. I was really fortunate to find great instructors who made all the effort worthwhile.

Somehow I managed to find time to learn to fly and for a time I ran a flying school and taught aviation theory to private and commercial pilots.

I live in Australia, in Northern Sydney with my partner who is a policewoman and a great inspiration to me.

I have 4 children who keep me busy as well.

Surprise Book 2

This book picks up right where the last one left off. The investigation into the terrorist organization leads to ties with the Neo-Nazi Forth Reich and a literal lost treasure trove of gold bullion. New friends are made and new plans are laid to find and retrieve the lost loot.

I really enjoyed how elements from the first book were included in this one. The author is very good at providing depth and keeping the plot fresh. There was a big Surprise twist that I never saw coming!

I enjoyed this series!

I decided to read this book after reading the first book in the series. This book was as good as the first! This was filled with history and what could possibly happen in the future if groups combine. There was some grammatical errors in the book but I was able to read the book without any problems.

I am hoping that the author eventually decides to continue the series because he left a cliff hanger at the end.
