I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.  The expected publication date is April 25th, 2017.

I was drawn to the idea of this story, about a girl who is marrying herself as a statement that she is a strong confident independent woman who doesn't need anyone else to be happy.

The problem with this idea?  Lily was not even remotely this person she was attempting to celebrate to be.  I found her insecure and fearful of relationships with huge daddy issues to boot.  I believe this was by design however many times I felt that the story went beyond the expiry date of my tolerance of her insecurities.

I found the same with Vincent.  When first introduced to him, I was captivated thinking this could be very interesting.  Too soon I started getting annoyed with his insecurities and found myself wishing for the intense mystery guy he was at the beginning of the story.  His backstory with his mom was touching.

As much as the insecurities of these two grated on my nerves at times, I found that they worked very well together.  With steaming hot chemistry and commitment issues coming from both parties, there was bound to be all sorts of tension, and not just the physical kind.  The sparring between the two was amusing at times.  On the flip side, while the reader individually sees the depth of each character, I do not believe that they actually saw it in each other which took away from some of the emotional investment in the story.

While this story entertained me, I am not sure it will stand out in my mind down the road.

To Me I Wed was a good second chance at love read. I can understand why some people may find Lily annoying with her self marrying shenanigans, but I was able to put myself in her shoes and see why she felt the need to take such drastic measures. She felt unlucky in love and had a very large family hounding her every move. At the same time she was insanely successful in her career and felt the need to let people know to mind their own business. I can respect that. My favorite character though was Vin. He had so much depth and emotion. He was just as lost as Lily when it came to love, but he was also way more open to giving it a shot. Also, I need more Mama D in my life! Looking forward to picking up the next in the series.

when I read this story I kept asking myself one question. Why write this story the way it was written. While i love the hero ( Vincent Caro ) of the story I couldn't help the more I kept reading the story hating the heroine ( Lily Perry ). She was extremely confused and lost to me and it seems that everyone around her her love interest and family members were more of a sound mind than Lily herself. Lily wants to marry herself to prove that she doesn't need to depend on a man for her happiness nor does she need a man for validation. While I personally like the concept and where this story could have gone there is one simple fact the story didn't take it where it could have and should have gone. It takes you in a complete opposite direction. In essence Lily in my opinion was lying to herself which is the worst form of abuse when you say to others that you love yourself enough to not need or depend on a man. To me she wanted to marry herself because she had issues with men more so because she loved herself. Then she doesn't only meet a good man she meets the right man for her. What I hated the most was how she treated him no matter how much he forgave her and stuck by her. She did not trust herself enough to let go and to allow herself happiness with him. Then the worst part of all was when she realize that Vincent was indeed the man for her? What did she do? Well you will find out and when you do you will wonder what the world. Which left me wondering what was the point of the story again? Exactly I cant't think what the point was either. I would have rather this story focus on why she really needed to marry herself rather than escaping from her issues with men.

"To Me I Wed" was a fresh twist on a young woman learning to accept herself just as she is--with or without a man. I loved how put together Lily was. She had strength that rolled off her in waves, and the relationship with Vin, felt like it added to who Lily was rather than being something she couldn't live without. I particularly loved the complex relationship portrayed between Lily and her large extended family. In so many novels, family is given a backseat, and it was lovely to see them form such an integral part of who Lily is here.

I absolutely loved To Me I Wed. I totally understood were Lily was coming from. I didn't think she was Coo Coo like every other character in this series. I totally got why she wanted to get married to herself. When you had everyone in you large family getting married and your the almost last child to get married everyone ask the same question over and over again and you just want it to stop and for everyone to understand that you are fully capable of being totally independent and not needing anyone to define you but at the same time I came understand why she is also so messed up in her own life when it comes to her love love. In walk Vin who was the one person who ever made her feel this way towards any man before. She and vin tried to play off like they didnt like each other as bother were very guarded. But you could just see the attraction they had for each other.

Vin has been one of my favorite characters. I felt he had alot of depth and at first I didn't understand why he was the way he was or acted some times throughtout the book. But by the end of the book I understand Vin much more and where he is coming from.

I absolutely loved Mama D and thought she brought much relief to this book is some way and I loved her relationship with Lily.

I can't wait to pick up the third book and dive into great book.

This book was interesting and the characters continued to surprise me throughout the story. I was a little frustrated with Lily and how much she expected from Vin, and I never really understood her, but I still enjoyed it!

Two peas in a pod are Lily Perry and Vincent Caro. Both struggling small-business owners who are happy with their relationship-free lifestyles. Lily is a successful event planner who has pulled off amazing parties for her several sisters, living up to the “always a bridesmaid, never a bride” lifestyle. Vin recently opened his own restaurant in memory of his mother who always shared her joy of cooking with him. The pair hooked up a while back, and even though it was an intense evening, neither called for a second chance. However, when Lily sees Vin at her sister’s wedding, sparks ignite and neither can rest until they see the attraction through.

To Me I Wed is the second story in Ms. Jackson’s Unconventional Bride series, and unconventional is the best word to describe Lily’s plans. Doing research, Lily comes across an article how a woman, ready to show the world she’s good just as she is, married herself. At first Lily sees this as a potential business opportunity - which I can appreciate. But then she internalizes it, seeing herself in this woman. She gets swept up in the idea, immediately calling her assistant, Tori, and getting Vin’s restaurant to host it!

I have to say, I struggled with Lily. I understood her desire to show the world she's all good as is. But I had a lot of trouble getting behind the concept of marrying herself. I had hoped it would have been a funny/silly storyline, but Lily was kind of obsessive about her life and the wedding. It was an "I'm gonna show them" kind of thing. She was so serious, not having fun with it at all, which actually made her come off as desperate - not for a man - but for people to believe she’s “okay” as she is.

Similarly, we got a lot of how “okay” Vin is, yet he’s clearly still dealing with his mother’s death and his own father-issues. I loved that he genuinely cares for Lily and pushed her until she gave into her desire. But then their relationship coasts… and when one got too close to the other, they would blow up and push apart. As much as they were falling into one another, they both had serious walls. And we didn’t really see them ever open up to one another. They danced around it, but slammed the walls down hard as soon as one or the other was uncomfortable. They argued about it and instead of moving closer, continually slamming down the barriers.

The author did include some glimpses of genuine emotion, like when Vin kissed Lily with all his heart and at the point right before the wedding. But those moments were so rare. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but I felt even though there is an HFN ending, we never see the couple work things out and get past the messy emotions.

In the end, To Me I Wed was an enjoyable read, but I struggled getting into the story, and then, I found it was lacking solid relationship bonding. By the end of the book I felt that Lily and Vin *could* be a couple, but they really never shared a scene that shows me they will be able to open up and be there for one another.

My Rating: C+ Liked It, but I had issues

*ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*

The premise of marrying oneself, in a full wedding ceremony to boot, to celebrate your love for yourself is a little (okay, a lot) quirky but hey, Girl Power and all that. This would have been so much more if Lily was really a strong, confident woman who needs no-one to complete her BUT she was not. The more I got into it...and I got into about 50% of it DNF, the more it seemed to me that Lily was out to prove rather than celebrate something. It felt like she had underlying (daddy) issues that made her untrusting of men rather than her preferred narrative of not needing them. Had this been a validation of self with the introduction of a hero to complement that, this would have gone a lot better, I think. As it stands...sorry but NO.

dnf at 33%. I don't think this is for me, unfortunately. I got excited about the marrying herself idea and slid past the "everyone thinks she's crazy" storyline referenced in the blurb. Turns out that's not something I'm up for.

I had this book on my want to read list for over two years because I thought it would be funny. I thought it was going to be a mixture of comedy and romance. There were some funny moments but not enough.

An independent, secure a woman would not feel the need to marry herself because she would not feel the need to prove anything to herself or anyone else. It’s the insecure woman who feels the need to prove something and that’s what Lily Perry is.

Lily Perry is an event planner who’s tired of everyone asking her when is she’s getting married, so she decides to prove to everyone that she doesn’t need anyone but herself by making a commitment to herself in a marriage ceremony.

Vin Caro owns the new restaurant. He seems to be kind of a player and doesn’t like to talk a lot about himself. He does like Lily but doesn’t want to commit.

I did not like either of the main characters. They were both very stubborn individuals and their relationships seemed kind of toxic. They were constantly rubbing each other the wrong way and pushing each other‘s buttons. The only time they got along was in the bedroom.

The most annoying phrase: no matter.

Once again, KM Jackson has given me a sweet romance with just the right amount of heat. In fact, I liked this one even better than her last, Insert Groom Here. And can we get a round of applause for this cute-as-a-button cover??
The idea of loving yourself enough to promise to cherish yourself forever is super fab. While unconventional (and garnering a ton of crap from her family), Lily was a great leading lady. I loved her dedication and fierce determination to prove that she doesn't need a man. However, what we need and what we end up wanting.... that can be different.
Enter Vincent. He and Lily share a bit of a past - one that any reader can relate to. I swear, I have had similar thoughts regarding past instances and it made me grab a hold of these characters easily. Their wariness, their hesitation, and their fears are so real and understandable that I HAD to see them be happy. Had. To.
The relationship is anything but easy as both parties have huge fears when it comes to relying on and falling for someone. The author kept the drama realistic and yet I was still able to escape into the world she created.
I absolutely recommend To Me I Wed to anyone looking for a sweet, romantic, sorta hot read.

Vin and Lil get a second, chance at their first chance to love. They start off with heated kiss and heavy petting at the pier. The move thing of their next meeting to the back garden at her sister's wedding. The get their next chance while she is planning her wedding at his restaurant. Things are complicated but real for Lil. She wants to live her own life and have things on her own terms. She don't want to marry a man just to make mother and family happy.

This was a journey for Lil but she did things her way. The wedding was beautiful. She did find a man to love but he loved her enough to give her her day and what she needed.

A fast quick and yet....

I liked this story, it was cute. That being said, it could do with some serious editing. There is pretty serious repetition around Thomas early on that gets wearing. Spelling errors and misuse of words in a few places, as well as least one whole sentence that is nonsensical detract from what is enjoyable writing.

I had a hard time with Vin. Both he and some of the storyline, feel outdated. I remember the woman who married herself and that wasn't recent. In spite of my critiques, it's a quick read and Lily & her family are fun, and realistic to boot.

A charming though silly romantic comedy about a dramatic, confident woman (who happens to be an extremely competent wedding planner) who is inspired by a far fetched magazine article to have a "wedding ceremony" to herself as a declaration of happiness and satisfaction with her life. But even as she's determined to enjoy her single life, she keeps getting tangled up with the sexy chef at her wedding venue.

This is a cute, modern romance. I really enjoyed it. I liked both the heroine, Lily and the hero Vin. I also liked Lily's family, especially her grandmother, Mama Dee. Lily's family members are always asking her when she's going to get married so she comes up with a way to publicly declare that she doesn't need a husband for validation. It was a fun, entertaining, light read and I recommend it.

Wished i could love this but Vin was terrible and kept belittling Lily's choice to have this wedding ceremony for herself. He even calls her a nutjob at one point. So nah im good. I already have book 3 so will keep reading but damn this couldve been so much better. I couldnt even root for them because i just didnt like Vin and struggled to even get to the end :/

Is it okay to love yourself, be happy with yourself, and not need a man to complete your life? Lily spent a lot of time trying to justify this belief. Vin was there to help her!

With her sisters getting married one-by-one, Lily Perry is feeling the pressure from her family to find her Mr. Right. Except Lily is happy with the way her life is, so why does she need a man to make her life more fulfilled? Instead, she concocts a plan to marry herself and goes through with organizing everything from the dress to where the ceremony will be held. However, she never anticipated Vincent Caro getting under her skin and make her question what she's doing. Can Vincent convince her that love is worth the risk, or will she continue to fly solo when it comes to relationships?

Although I haven't read the first book of this series, I found I could easily read this story as a stand-alone. From start to finish, this book was entertaining, fast-paced and I liked that it had such a unique plot of a woman wanting to marry herself, even though it did seem a bit outlandish. How does one go about marrying themselves? Is it even possible? Why would she want to marry herself? The way this story started had me feeling sorry for the heroine, because of how her family thinks she needs the kind of happiness they've all found in her life. Will they try and set her up with someone?

The dialogue had me hooked, and I enjoyed every moment the hero and heroine interacted, whether they were at odds because the hero couldn't understand why she'd want to marry herself or whether they were getting along. Moreover, I enjoyed the heroine's stubbornness, her need for not conforming to what her family wants for her, the way she interacts with the hero and her fight to do what she believes is best for her. Because if she doesn't marry herself to prove that she loves herself, then how could she expect anyone else to love her enough to commit to a relationship.

However, in saying that, I liked how difficult it was for her. The way the heroine struggled to decide whether she'd go through with the wedding, as she got closer and closer with Vincent. Which indeed, made me sympathize with the hero, because her decision to marry herself wasn't easy for him to accept. While the hero, he's hard-working, tenacious and I liked how he wanted to honor his mother in everything he did with making his dreams as a chef and having his own restaurant come true. Seriously, he shouldn't doubt how proud his mom would be, even though she's not with him to see how his life has turned out. But what I liked most of all about the hero was how he supported and helped the heroine, despite how he felt about her wanting to marry herself in the beginning. Not that I could blame him, as it seemed like her decision was an asinine idea to start with.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read where I loved how Lily's grandma wasn't afraid to give her advice when it came to Lily giving Vincent a chance and I also loved how there was plenty of chemistry between this couple that deserved to be explored. The way this story ended had me concerned for one of the secondary characters, but I was pleased by how everything turned out for Vincent and Lily. Certainly, after what happened, it goes to show both the hero and heroine that love is worth fighting for. I would recommend To Me I Wed by KM Jackson, if you enjoy stories with unconventional storylines, second chance romances or books by authors Tina Martin, Farrah Rochon or Rochelle Alers.
