Jansky explains very simply what happens in the heavens to produce what we perceive as the eclipse phenomena. He uses simple graph measurements and drawings to show just what is involved. He carefully explains the subcycles within grand eclipse cycles. in a sense, he helps us catch up with the ancients who apparently understood eclipses very well and deduced the length of the month and year from their cycles. Eclipses are a reliable means of dating history. The Babylonians, for example, recorded the names and reigns of their kings along with the eclipses of the era.
This slim volume lays out the cycles of solar and lunar eclipses and how to interpret eclipses in an individual’s chart. Several case studies included. I found it easy to read and useful.
