Describes the life and work of the author of "The Bluest Eye" and "Beloved," who became the first African American woman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature for her novels depicting the African American experience.
I'm pretty interested in Toni Morrison, so picked this up from a library discards shelf. I enjoyed learning about the author's life.
This book is part of a series called "Book Report Biographies". I got it from an elementary school library, but I don't think many kids at this level would be able to get much out of it. It felt like it was written at more of an adult level or at least middle school and high school. There are photos and other graphics, and the length is manageable, but I still think it's more geared for an older audience. You never know, though!
