Reading Journal: for Adults
Sometimes when you’ve read a good book, you want to spend more time in it. You’re not quite ready to let it go, but you don’t want to write a paper about it either. That’s when this journal can come in handy. Use it as a sort of scrapbook, a place to collect pieces of the stories you’re encountering and break them apart. Use it to focus your thoughts and motivate you to think about a work more deeply. Ponder character and theme, analyze words, but do it with creativity, color, and imagination. Most of all, let your thoughts on these books will shine through, giving you insight into how these stories are moving you right now. There’s no wrong way to work on this journal. There’s no order you have to complete these in, no grading, no teachers looking over your shoulder. It’s all for the love of reading and pondering how stories touch our lives. Enjoy!
