Major Robert Dalton swallowed involuntarily. After his crash, he vowed he would never fly again. Now he would be flying into the past in a new plane was designed to travel through time. The mission was going to fail. He knew that. It was more than a premonition. His Kill Hitler. Stop the Holocaust before it starts. No one knew what the consequences of changing the time-line. Would he destroy everything and everyone in the process?
This book is supposed to take place in 2041 and early 20th Century. My disappointment is that the author created a world in 2041 which has no women at all let alone women with professional responsibility. Not only that, there seems to be a complete lack of any people of color. This situation in the military is highly unlikely especially 25 years from now when the US demographics are projected to be somewhat different than today. The book also seemed to have lacked editing given the number of errors.
A Hole in Time (Time Loop Book 2) Author: Clark Graham Narrator: William Mark Woelfle
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this honest review.
I always like to preface any reviews I give with this information. I am a 68 year old female who has been an avid reader since I was around 10 or 11 years old. I read mainly for entertainment purposes although I do a lot of research in areas of personal interest. I have a great interest in many things. Ancient History and Archeology are at the top of a very long list.
Although this is book 2 this book stands alone and is a complete story, as is book 1. I always find it gratifying to know that I am reading a complete story and not a cliff-hanger.
Review: A Hole in Time (Time Loop Book 2)
In the course of going through classified documents at a 25 year review, Colonel Russell Roberts finds the files about the V Max III Drive 'time machine'. Through chain of command, the file reaches General Aston Williams desk and after General Williams reviews the files "Project Blackhole" is implemented.
After much research, modeling, and investigating of the previous incident (A Loop in Time:Time Loop Book 1), it is decided to build the aircraft and send two men back in time to prevent Adolph Hitler's reign of terror and death.
I don't want to give any more of the plot of this amazing story away.
I have always been fascinated by the idea of time travel, as I think most of us have. Who of us has not wished we could go back in time to change an event? We have all lost someone to death that feels as though that person was taken before their time.
Who of us has not wished we could go back and change historical events to make this world a better, safer and more peaceful place; in our own estimation, at least?
In ways this could be considered a cautionary tale. You must read it and decide for yourself.
Clark Graham's writing was wonderful in my estimation. This story seemed to flow more smoothly for me than the first one did. His writing is creative and it was a real pleasure to listen to this story as it unfolded. I found it to be more intense than the first book was, with some edge of your seat moments. This is a book that I listened to in one setting.
William Mark Woelfle's narration was easier for me to listen to this time after I changed the playback speed on my device. I changed it from 1X to 1.15X which made the narration a little faster. I had absolutely no trouble with feeling like I was being read to, but rather I just got into the story itself and I truly enjoyed his narration at that speed.
This book is also readable and would be enjoyed by tweens up to mature readers. If you are into Time Travel this is a book that you will enjoy and it will also make you think, which is always a good thing, I believe.
( Format : audiobook ) "A hole in time beneath the hearth." A review of secret files closed for 25 years uncovers one which suggests that time travel was once believed possible, tried - and failed. But did it? And why the secrecy about the actual return of the experimental subject, previously believed dead? This is a tale in two parts: the building of a machine to travel through time and the experiences of the two German speaking pilots who embark on a mission to change history by killing Hitler as a child.
Both of the interleaved stories are interesting but written in a rather dry, even stilted at times, language making for less than three dimensional protagonists. Narrator, William Mark Woelfle has a good, rich voice well suited to the subject matter; well modulated with some character definition, he still is unable to lift the story beyond a fairly dry reporting. The initial breathiness of the opening sequences is improved later but there are still a few strange pronunciations (for example that of hors d'oeuvers). Altogether, an interesting book juggling with the ideas of what happens if the past could be altered, worth reading if the whole concept of time or science fiction is an interest. My thanks to the rights holder for freely gifting me a complimentary copy of A Hole In Time, at my request, via Audiobook Boom.
This book appears to be written by a child. The plot is comical. To go back in time to change the present and then expect the present you come back to to be recognizable is absurd. Especially with a mission-critical detail like returning to the same German Air Force base that you left from before you go back to alter the past and expect it to still be there. His constant referral to the aircraft as a “plane” is also childish. Aircraft are seldom referred to as “planes” in the military and aviation industries. The story makes it sound like the aircraft crashes in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean but then in the sequel story a bunch of guys pretending to be fishing in a small boat can dive down and salvage the aircraft. To be honest, I bought this book even after being just as disappointed with the first story because of the cover art. It’s very similar to that of a book I’m currently writing.
I think that the writer might want to step away from time travel. Based on his weakness with plotlines, mystery novels or series are also not recommended. His concept of character development is "interesting". The dialogue and interactions are "different". When he isn't marrying off a main character, he doesn't seem to need female characters.
This book makes less sense than the first. The writer has managed to step on every time related landmine. He doesn't seem to understand what he's trying to write. I can't understand why he wrote either of these books. He is a really poor writer, to not see how badly these books were done.
He's written a few books of other types and I can't imagine that they are all this bad. I won't spend additional time to discover whether that's true.
Is time travel for real? It seems so. A team is sent into the past to find a 4 yr old Hitler and let him drown so the world would be better. However, when they complete their mission they find out that the world is worse and many more people died. So they needed to return to the past again and allow Hitler to be saved. But when the team was leaving they noticed their plane was losing fuel , oil, and one of them is shot and the other gets stuck in the past. That's what this book is about, and how one man must reach out to the future and tell a certain general not to pursue this mission and to destroy the time machine. Can't wait for the next book to find out more about this story.
I had so much fun with Book 1 that I jumped right into Book 2. Again the question of the butterfly effect (not so named within the story) becomes an issue, with a different approach from the first book--but using the same time travel technology and light touch with story and characters. Author Clark Graham enjoys sharing the changes in technology and language over the years with a keen eye for anachronism as he provides a new spin on alternative history while narrator [AUDIO] William Mark Woelfle has fun vocalizing the characters. As a bonus, although the first story is also a delight, you will have no trouble following the action if you haven't read it.
I had read book 1 good and just continued to book 2. The books are short in length which is nice there is not a lot of words in between the elements of the story. Not a lot of misdirections into character/story development. I like a book to just move along, it added alot to the readability of the book.
I don't know about the story that is laid out and the logic used by the characters. From that standpoint, not a real nail biter.
Many books involving time travel seem to focus entirely on a multiverse model or fail to address how changes to the timeline affect the future entirely. Thus far, it is well addressed in this series! There are hints as to what the “future” holds, keeping my interest piqued. Excellent character development, and attention to historical detail is done well. This was my second book by this author, and I will be continuing this series. A good read that keeps your attention!
Another great book in the series. While I did enjoy book one a bit more I still liked this one a lot. I really love time travel books. The whole would you go back & kill Hitler thing has been done before but it was still very good. I can only hope there is a book 3.
I was voluntarily provided this review copy at no charge by the author, publisher and or narrator.
The first book was amazing and clean. Unfortunately and as much as I hate doing this, this sequel have too many spelling mistakes, typos, incorrect names, and mixed up here and there, it was very distracting and killed the enjoyment and immersion.
Written extremely well and very interesting and exciting
I absolutely love time travel stories ! This one was absolutely exceptional. It just boggles the mind about how it would all work, and what could be changed, for the better or worst ! The characters are really great, the minute details, and storyline are extremely entertaining and intriguing! Highly recommend!!
Possibly one of the best time travel books I have ever read, thought first one was good but this is epic, really good read with lots of problems you would expect going 100y to the past. But he nailed it. Looking forward to book 3, going to be fun adding past and present into the mix.
A good follow up to the first book in this series. It has a completely different set of characters than the first book. I enjoyed the fact that the author used this story for a great what-if story and it's repercussions. The preview for the 3rd book implies this story isn't over yet. Time to move over to that one!
A time machine adventure that is sure to keep you riveted. Great character development with lots of twists and turns. A story about the development of a time machine and travel back in time to eliminate Hitler.
Would you go back in time if you could? An air force officer is sent back to change history but finds that change was not for the better and find love along the way.
Besides the few editing problems, this is a good time travel tale. You have good and bad military, generous and evil civilians and a great story. READ THIS BOOK!!!
This book was as good as the first book. It had me guessing as to how it would end which I like. Spoiler alert your never figure out the last paragraph.
I couldn't put the book down and could hardly wait to read the last one. It's imaginative and so intriguing. I would definitely rate this author as a 10!!!
- [ ] A chance change history – what could go wrong? Buried in some archives they find the plans to a time machine and proof it worked. What do you do?... build it and see if you can make it work again, and attempt to alter history. What can go wrong, right? Major Dalton had no intents on being the pilot but, as the first mission plan is laid out, it is determined he’s the best man for the job. Reluctantly, he joins his copilot and they go back in time with the intent of stopping Hitler. Dalton has already seen proof and figured out that this won’t work, yet, he continues on with the plan.
I enjoyed this book and the theories about time travel. The characters were likeable. The story covers both present day and the events that occur in the past. Once Dalton confirmed his mission was a bust, he did not take long inserting himself into the new time. Personally, I think he was incautious. The book has a finality to it, but also could be expanded upon. I wonder if there is a book 3?
The narrator (William Mark Woelfle) did a pretty good job reading this book, however, the narrating speed is slow. Listening at 1.25x speed makes it a more comfortable listen. His voices are pleasant to listen to and the female voices are not squeaky, or high pitched, however, many of the voices are similar. Despite this, I did not find this made listening to the book difficult.
There are no explicit scenes sex or excessive violence or swearing.

Ever think about going back in time to rewrite history? Imagine if there was a time machine to make that possible. What would you rewrite? Would you change history?
After a first failed attempt at traveling through time, Dalton was given another opportunity. The mission...stop Hitler to prevent the Holocaust. So much was riding on this.
Dalton's goal was to find 4 year old Hitler while playing by the water. His friend had saved him, but Dalton was supposed to sabotage the area and let him drown.
Once the event was done, he would fly back through time to his current time zone. Upon his flight back, the aircraft got stuck and crashed, landing in the middle of the ocean.
Did Dalton survive and was his mission completed? This fast past sci fi thriller was entertaining, fluid and exciting.
