Second book in the Raining Down series. Full length told in dual POV with HEA. Can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone. Secondary characters are interconnected throughout the series. Regina has made sacrifices to let Jordan follow his dreams. Now he is back and still struggling with staying sober Wonderful epilogue!
Really enjoyed reading this book. Never would have figured out where this story was heading. Loved how things eventually seemed to come together. Highly recommend reading.
This story takes place just after Raining Down Rules. Jordan is now back in Phoenix with his band. He's been writing new songs, mostly based on his time and feelings for Jemma, who is now married to Vic and about to have their first child.
The band has just finished their last tour and about to start recording the new album based on Jordan's songs, when they go to a diner they used to frequent as teens. What Jordan finds there is more than nostalgia for food. He is surprised to find his former high school sweetheart, Regina "Reggie, working there. All the emotions he felt for her back nine years ago come flooding back. But Reggie doesn't seem to feel the same way. She won't even go out to dinner with him for old times sake.
Reggie can't stop her feelings from surfacing again when fate keeps bringing she and Jordan back together, whether by chance or by Jordan staking her out at her jobs. They both had tough childhoods emotionally and find it hard to express themselves to each other, afraid of what the other really feels or wants. One of them will have to be strong and make it known what they feel. But when secrets from the past are brought to light, will these two be able to work their way through it and make things work? Will the stress of it all cause Jordan to fall back into old patterns of alcohol and drugs?
I liked finding out more about Jordan and his past. I felt for him and his relationship with his parents. No one should be treated that way and sometimes you have to let toxic people go, even if they are your family.
I loved Jordan with Reggie. But I have to say, I was just a little confused about why she felt he couldn't be a musician and be there for her as well. I get that he would need to travel a lot. But to me it's no different than if he was a professional at anything else. There are hours of the day at work, travel sometimes for some jobs. I just didn't get her issue with him touring, other than other women. I understand the idea that his type of profession could put him in the face of temptation for other women, but I don't really think that was Reggie's issue.
Although I liked the story, it didn't have the same intensity as the first book, which I loved. There were many more characters in Jordan and Reggie's lives and story, which also caused a little fracturing of what was going on. I never got a clear vision of the band members. Other than Jeremy, who was the band manager and childhood best friend... And did he really make enough being their manager to retire at 27 and marry Emily? Hmmm... I'm not so sure about that.
I am curious though to read the next book and find out about Stacey and Ace. That should be interesting. I want to know who he is in all this.
Thank you for letting me read the book the book early and review.
Loved it loved it loved it!! Mind you I'm not one that likes romances where the female character already has a kid but this one is the exception. The kid in this story is what makes the plot so good! I started and finished this book all in one night...well almost lol! I got about 80 percent finished and finally had to put it down to sleep but I just had to get to the part where Jordan found out about Micah.
This is a second chance romance about high school sweethearts. Jordan is a rock star recovering from a drug addiction. His sweetheart, Reggie is working 2 jobs to support herself and her lil boy. The sparks are re-ignited as soon as they see each other for the first time in years. Oh the feelings I felt whenever they were together ♡. They are so perfect together.
The only thing is I felt bad for Jordan finding out about Micah years too late. She should have at least told him when she gave birth or something. However, the story wouldn't have been as exciting without the surprise.
I'm rating Raining Down Redemption a 5 out of 5 stars. Thank you so much BK Rivers for introducing me to Reggie and Jordan's story. I fell in love with this couple ;)
Long awaited and excited to read I couldn't put it down. Once again a fabulous book! Like the first book I didn't want it to end. Can we just forever live in the lives and stories of Rivers' books please? It was wonderful to see a whole new side to Jordan that I fell in love with. I kept rooting for him throughout the book and kept telling him in my head he was strong enough to get through those roadblocks that tripped him up. I adored as usual every character in the book. I loved getting to know each one on a whole new level as well as new characters especially Reggie. I had tears, giggles, huge smiles, heartbreak and sadness throughout. I can't imagine it being written any other way and I can't wait to read the next adventure in their lives.
Long this second book in the series. I would definitely recommend starting with the first book in the series Raining Down Rules. No cliffhanger even though there is a book three. This is Jordan's story picking up where we left him in Raining Down Rules. His life has lots of ups and downs with lots of major decisions to make. Will he continue to be the lead singer of White Shadow... Can he have a relationship too... Will Jordan get his HEA??? And Reggie? Is she willing to sacrifice to be with Jordan... Or will her secret destroy them... Will Reggie get her HEA???
Raining Down Redemption is the follow up book to Raining Down Rules. Redemption is a well written book that shows that Jordan Capshaw has been redeemed and was going to be make it all the way back from his addiction.
As a reader new to BK Rivers, I will definitely read more of her work. This book simply flowed from point to point. The characters were well rounded and believable. It will touch your human side. Simply its a good, very good book.
This is my honest review from a gifted copy provided by the author
Great Story! Jordan has redeemed himself in my eyes. I am glad Jemma makes appearances throughout this book, she is one of my favorite characters. I cannot wait to read on and hear Stacey's Story in Raining Down Release. It is a very good series that I have enjoyed reading and has pulled me in. It's an emotional, sweet, heartbreaking love story that you won't want to put down. I received a ARC in return for my honest review!
I think the story had potential but I didn't like how she kept her big secret for so long. Especially when she was intimate with Jordan. I think there were some inconsistencies with Michas age too.
