I enjoyed this book very much as I will be using it as a reference. I love how I learned the model of praying and reminders of how the scripture instructs us to pray continuously without seizing. There are so many great scripture references and examples to help me to understand the best action to prepare before a life storm comes. In addition, I enjoyed the analog(ies) provided to help get another visual of what was being explained. I look forward to reading the other two as this is a trilogy.

The year 2014 was a trying year for Dr. Michael Freeman. He was admitted to the hospital, not knowing that this storm would seek to wipe him out. This book, Before The Storm, is very important for every believer. Every believer has an evil day (according to Ephesians 6:13). Just like you need to be prepared for a storm in the natural, you have to be prepared spiritually. There are 7 keys that Dr. Freeman speaks about in depth that need to be in place so that your spirit is able to withstand any storm that the enemy brings your way.
1. Prayer (and it being a lifestyle)
2. Declare & decree your victory
3. The Word must be first in your life
4. Having a spirit of faith
5. Renew your mind
6. Have a spirit of love
7. Walk in forgiveness!

Simple and practical teaching

It is back to basics teaching about how to daily trust in The finished work of Jesus Christ.
It's about following God's kingdom principles to produce a fruitful and effective life. Preparing for the storm reinforces what each seasoned believer should "know" but may not practice. To love God is to keep His commandments. Good teaching.
