But this is Gossamyr's first trip to the war-ravaged mortal realm, and it seduces with its own enchantments. Gossamyr is her second fantasy novel. - Gossamyr is the second book in a trilogy that takes place in an altered version of sixteenth-century France.
Michele has been writing romance, action-adventure and fantasy stories for over twenty years. Her first published novel was DARK RAPTURE.
France, musketeers, vampires and faeries populate her stories. And if she followed the adage 'write what you know', all her stories would have snow in them. Fortunately, she steps beyond her comfort zone and writes about countries she has never visited and of creatures she has never seen.
Michele also writes as Michele Renae, and you can find her erotica, chick lit, and Harlequin Romance titles at your favorite online retailer.
Stopped at just shy of 100 pages. Idk why but I'm really not interested in picking this up, it's not holding me at all. Likely a me thing, but there's not enough intrigue to make me care about following these characters, and I'm just really bored. Putting down, not continuing with book 3.
While I love epic stories, this was very long-winded. I love this author's vampire novels but did not enjoy this one. Sorry that I could not recommend this.
It took me forever to finish the novel because I just didn’t care. The characters lacked accessibility to me as a reader. Gossamyr had the occasional catchy or cute line but she as a character didn’t have a ton of depth. Apparently it is the second in the Changeling Series by Michele Hauf, but this isn’t noted in the e-book version; I felt like the plot was very much in stasis, there was one problem throughout – the Red Lady – and that was the extent of it. The general plot follows Gossamyr as she crosses over to the “real world” from the fairy land she grew up in to combat the evil Red Lady who is sending deformed “fairy souls” to the fairy land that are attacking it. Throughout it the minor issues are Gossamyr’s parentage and her banished love. There’s nothing that I found to be unique about this story.
