My understanding of the Russian stories and poems was sometimes as high as 95% and regularly closer to zero, so I'll definitely come back to this book after another year (or two) of Russian classes ;-)

It wasn't a waste of my time though. I read a little quicker and better out loud than I did before. and whenever necessary I relied on the German translation (and it's fun to use German, even if I don't really need the practice).

As for the content: Some of the stories and poems were really quite good and/or fun. Some of the poems were even beautiful! Others were too childish, pointless, or boring, but at least there was plenty of variation.
