3.5 Lycans

Blurb impressions :

Hard rock band
Usually I avoid books where the guy is into music (no idea why...) but a paranormal band sounds great.

Lycans
Protective, Alpha werewolves - Plus points

Curse
It suggests revenge, drama & secrets. I'M IN.

And....its a triangle
This could go either way but I'm willing to give it a try.

What worked for me :

Niall
This guy is destined for greatness. He was honest, funny, protective & complicated. I'm a proud member of Team Niall. He experiences suffering and handled it with dignity. There was no bitterness or mass murders or excuses for turning into a jerk. If you need a reason to try this, its Niall.

Prophecy
I believe prophecies make every story better, its the icing on the cake. Prophecies immediately give you high stakes and nail biting suspense. This book opens with a prophecy and I was hooked.

When evil is unleashed upon the world, the four will be called into battle. Three will save the One. The One will save the world.

Cahan & the brothers
I loved the bonding and interaction among the brothers. Each brother belongs to a different race and has unique talents.

Mood
The author does a brilliant job of creating atmosphere - its all dark, intense, magical and a little scary.

Fabulous ending
I'm not telling you what happened, no spoilers here. But I'm a really happy reader and know that book 2 will be lots of fun.

What I didn't like

Tempest
She was the key to unlocking the curse and I tried really hard to like her...
I can't put a finger on it but Tempest and I didn't click.
Being human, she was in the dark about the curse. Because she didn't know what was going on, the reader is in the same boat.
This was the only frustrating part in the story.

This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. I think she's going to be one of those authors who gets better with each book. With each chapter, the tension grew, the emotions flowed better and the characters got more vivid somehow.

I'm keeping an eye out for the next book in the series.

I received a free ebook in exchange for an honest review

I may be bias here because this is my moms first book. I think she did an amazing job. I have been with her from day one telling her to get this story on the page. I couldn't be more proud of her for getting it finished and out to the public. She is such an inspiration to me.

Its a great story with some big twists and turns. If you like big Alpha Males and a little PNR thrown in this is the book for you. Plus she is writing more about the sexy brothers!!!

Please give this story a chance. You will not regret it.

Talk about a hot book. This was a suggested read for me
and man did I love it. Combine 4 hot rockers who are
brothers and are also supernatural. Each one a different
paranormal species, the oldest is a Lycan, then the others
are a Druid, A shape shifter, and a vampire. And let’s not
forget the half brother who was also Lycan too. This story
is so well written it was really hard to put down.

This story is about Tempest and the oldest brother Cahan,
and a prophecy that could end Cahan or his brother’s life.
But that is the problem with prophecy; they can be
interpreted many ways. Tempest has to choice one of them
and then the other must die, or so they believe. Then there is
the crazy guy out to kill them all. I will warn you, you will
need tissues as this book made me cry several times. But
that is a good thing when a book moves me; it means the
author put a part of her sole in the book. I have to say it was
full of surprises. And poor tempest had to choice between
two men she has come to love. I would not wish that on
anyone. But the way the ending was handle was truly
something special. I cannot wait to read wach of the
brother’s stories to see what will happen next.

Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you
enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book,
please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like
it when you do; they value your opinions too.

What an AWESOME debut story and beginning of a series from a new author! Summer Storm had my emotions all over the place! Be prepared to have a box of tissues near by at all times throughout this story, you'll need it! The love story within these pages is intense! I canNOT wait to see what happens next in Book Two. This romantic paranormal story is an original, I've read a lot of paranormal stories but nothing like this. GREAT JOB!!

Tempest is a Sr. VP of one of the most prominent record labels, Whitehall Media Records. Although she prefers to stay home in the quiet woods where she built her home, her friends and co-workers Michelle and Donna make her go out to have some fun and listen to a new Hard Rock band in town playing at the Dark Wolf. Michele describes the band members as "walking sex on a stick". Tempest has to agree once she sees them, however she feels an EXTREMELY strong connection instantly when she sees Cahan, it's like her world shifts and something that'd been dormant awakens. Does he feel it too? Michelle was right, this band is awesome, and they ARE the definition of "walking sex in a stick". Before heading to the after party, she feels another connection to a man with glowing green eyes, but it's not as earth shattering as it is with Cahan. At the after party, Tempest decides to leave because she only came to see Achaean and he's not there. But then she sees him on her way out with another woman straddling & grinding on him, she's disappointed and leaves. But then she feels that calming and protected feeling she felt at the club as she walks out, definitely not Cahans electrical current.

Cahan, Tynan, Quinlan and Owain are the brothers that make up the band, The Engimas. Cahan the lead singer and drummer, is a century old Lycan. He used to love to be in front of the crowd, drew energy from them, now he hates it and doesn't want to do it. Something's missing, but he sticks with it for his brothers. Just before he gets to the stage he feels an electricity flowing through him, one of the 3 ladies at the table is THE ONE, the one that'll either save or condemn him. While on stage preparing to get started he feels her gaze. When he looks over his shoulder and their eyes meet the electrical current that flows through him almost knocks him to the floor, his body is on fire for the one with fiery red hair. But now that she's here, it means that Niall is too. His best friend growing up and half-brother, and the one he'll have to kill.

So you have finally found each other, my brother. And so the battle begins*(direct book quote). As the new President of the record label at Whitehall Media, Niall has a way to build on the connection he formed with Tempest, at the club. But is it enough to win her, and his life?

Tempest must learn why she has to choose one of the brothers on her own. The Great Tree prohibits them from revealing too much information. Who will Tempest choose, Cahan- the stubborn pain the the A** that keeps secrets from her, or Niall- the one who promises to tell her as much of the truth as he's allowed. She has feelings for both of these men, but which one will prevail with her heart? Why does Cahan hate Niall? Who else is hiding in the shadows, and what do they want? You'll have to read The Healing to find out, but OH MY, it'll so be worth your time! I not only received an ARC from IndieSagePR for a blog tour review, but I purchased a copy as well. Due to the sexual content within this story, this story is recommended for readers over 17.

**FAV QUOTES
~ “The three will save the One. The One will save the world.”

~ “Oh, God, please, I don’t need to feel any shittier than I do now.” Cringing as he grabs his side tighter. “Shake that thing at someone else please”

~ Looking up with tear reddened eyes, “We saw our mother Cahan. We got to see our mother. She was beautiful.”

~ “May the Great Tree bless them so that they may live long and rich lives.”

~ “I’ll be careful, Anfa. I promise. I’m a match burning down right now, and soon the whole damn box will be lit. I need your wetness to quench the fire.”

~ “You have my word…my brother.”

~ “Do you know what they say about feeding the wolf? If you feed the evil over the good what do you expect when it turns out to be evil?”

~ "I will make amends for my actions. If it means my life, I will pay the price. Please Great Tree spare her life and take mine."

Review:
Another great read from a new author! This was a good paranormal romance with an original background and storyline.
There are four brothers, each belonging to a supernatural race. And they are the members of the band Enigma.Cahan is the drummer and a Lycan. He has been waiting for the day he will be freed from his curse, so that he can also kill his half-brother Niall.
Tempest Demsey is supposed to be a clueless human. But the night she meets Cahan her life literally changes. She usually leads a simple life. But, she and Cahan have a connection that neither can deny.

But when the president of the record label steps down, the replacement Niall Fannin enters. He is also Cahan's half brother. He excites her and challenges her in a way no one has ever done before. She is drawn to both equally and soon both end up holding pieces of her heart.Throw in a prophecy which might very well decide the fate of their lives, you have lots of tension and suspense.

This was a wonderful book considering the fact that this is the author's first attempt at writing.
The only minor issue I had was the writing. The story is written in the present tense & from a third person POV which was a little weird to get into at the beginning. But once I got past that the story flowed seamlessly.

The characters were also fleshed out well along with history and background. The ending was satisfactory and lovely.I'll definitely be reading more books by this author in the future.

Okay, so the only reason I am giving this book four stars instead of five is because there were times where I was really confused. Other than that the book was fantastic! I could not put it down. I loved the storyline.
