A 2017 thriller novella by authors James Patterson and Charles Christopher. An interesting twist from the beginning - NYPD detective Cheryl Mabern is in an upscale rehabilitation center for drug addiction and the aftermath of putting a black teenager on life support; she claims the kid turned and pointed a gun at her but there are doubters in the community. She had gained notoriety for killing a serial killer who had captured her partner. Now a serial killer the press has dubbed "The Night Sniper" is on the loose and her partner springs her from the center to join a task force tracking the killer. Most of the story is quite good but the killer's love interest doesn't ring true and the clue he sends to Cheryl is extremely stupid, of course, so is her use of the clue.

Awesome read! Detective Cheryl has a drinking and drug problem, and she hit bottom when she shot a teenage boy. She checks herself into a drug rehab facility, and is successful in staying sober. Until the Night Sniper strikes. Night Sniper is told from both Cheryl's and Miles (the Sniper's) view points. We are invited along as Cheryl continues to get closer to revealing who the Sniper is and learning how clever and smart Miles is. Cheryl is brilliant, fighting past demons and her guilt over the shooting, and I enjoy her intelligence and her ability to think outside any box. Her partner, Randy, is loyal and practical and her former team is still learning just how skilled their leader is. We also learn how Miles got to be as twisted as he is and how he is able to justify his actions. Recommend!

Night Sniper is a short collaboration by James Patterson and Christopher Charles about a hero/disgraced NYPD detective who is called back into action from her sabbatical at the treatment facility she is hiding out in, to catch a killer committing random murders in the city.

Unsurprisingly as so many of Patterson's Book Shots, this one is DOA. In the short span of this story, there are too many (unimportant) characters introduced that I found myself flipping back to try and remember who is who on more than one occasion.

More importantly, this story could have been anywhere other than New York City...A sniper in the city, how original.

Detective Cheryl Mabern has made the news several times. Herione turned villian, she is now the cop no one wants to associate with. Her ex partner, Randy Hall asks her to be part of a task force to help catch the Night Sniper. No clues left behind and nothing to go on, Cheryl is asked to once again do the impossible and solve the serial killing.

This one was okay, I just didn't really get into the characters, maybe if it had been a full length novel?
A sniper serial killer is knocking off people in the late night hours. The cops bring in their ringer, who is recovering after accusations of an unjustified shooting. She needs to figure out and/or set up his next move to try to stop him before he kills again.

after a case that ended with a "special needs kid" getting shot and ends in a coma Detective Cheryl Mabern, New Yorks most brilliant detective needs to. she is on LOA dealing with the the damage she's is feeling to her soul but when the homeless are starting to be murder and the police are not getting anywhere it is up to Cheryl to find the killer and stop him/her before they kill again.

Very good story about a abused kid, getting to be a surgeon and a serial killer with a motiv coming from pictures ..... situation of lonely people. so lonely and sad so they deserve to die to be happy. A cop with problems and visions, very good what she is doing, but not good with her superiors. Good old story about the rebellious cop .........wich wins in the end!

Night Sniper is the second story of three in the book The Family Lawyer by James Patterson. All three stories are about 150 pages each. This story was just okay, it was lacking excitement and it took a lot to keep my interest. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't that great either.

This is the second of the three books in the “Family Lawyer” compilation.

It was a good psychological thriller that built up towards the end to a great finish.

There were actually two storylines happening in parallel which to a degree intersected.
