Danny King was born in Slough, Berkshire, the second son of Michael and Dorothy King. He and his two brothers, Ralph and Robin, lived on the Britwell Estate until 1979, when they moved to Yateley, Hampshire. He attended Yateley School but failed to gain any qualifications before leaving at the age of 16. He stacked shelves for a short stint in the Yateley branch of Somerfield (then Gateway), before working on various building sites as a hod carrier.
In 1991 he took an Access course at Farnborough College of Technology, which helped him land a place at The London College of Printing studying journalism. Between 1993 and 2002 he worked on various magazine titles, eventually becoming Editor of the Paul Raymond Publications title Mayfair (magazine). He now writes full-time.
In the late 1980s, he was arrested several times and convicted of burglary at Winchester Crown Court and car theft at Camberley Magistrates Court. It is largely due to receiving these convictions that he cites as his reasons for giving education a second go.

A smashing and credible read, everything one wants in a British ganster book making me laugh and cry at how outrageous the main character in the novel is . Well written in the right style for a book of this type and worth the time.
Not great literature but a great book for the beach or to just pass the time of day

A lesson in robbing banks!

Danny king has the writing style to explain crime but make you cheer for the criminal.
This tells you of Chris and his life story of robbing banks with his older brother and his crew, funny and engaging.

Danny King..... You know exactly what you are going to get - belly laughs and a non-pc boys own adventure.

After two police procedurals, i felt it was time for some light relief and this book instantly provided it.

Chris benson is the younger brother of a serious blagger, Gavin. After a dodgy start to the life of hold ups when he pisses himself on his first job, he graduates to leading the team on his brothers jail sentance.

Lots of laughs at the expense of the middle classes, people who work for a living and surburia, King has a turn of phrase that will have you laughing out loud.

Very, very funny and the Burglar Diaries will be next.

This is the second Danny King book I have read and I enjoyed it as much as the first. Quick, witty, honest and brutal, King is exceptionally good at writing in an entertaining and captivating way. Once I started I found this quite hard to put down.

It's just whet my appetite for more of his..... and luckily I've purchased them all on my Kindle!

This is one of my favourite books. This book changed the way I write. Everything was unexpected, especially the end! Dialogue was brilliant in its rawness and unrehearsed state.

I didn't enjoy this as much as the other Danny king books I've read. It was entertaining and easy to read but not as funny.
