Sage Indarra’s third year at the Institution is off to a rough start.
She’s still horrified by what she had to do to protect herself at the end of last year, and she’s pretty sure one of her instructors hates her. Her former mentors are giving her the cold shoulder, leaving her unexpectedly isolated, and she’s not sure whether or not she can trust her newest friend.
Despite these challenges, she’s determined to uncover the secrets Eprah doesn’t want her to know.
But when Sage finds some unusual artifacts at the Archives, she makes a costly mistake, discovering that the person she can trust least is herself.
What an electrifying continuation to the Sacrisvita series! This synopsis alone promises a gripping and emotionally charged journey, one that raises the stakes higher than ever. Sage Indarra’s struggles feel raw and compelling torn between isolation, distrust, and the haunting weight of her past choices. The tension of not knowing who (or even what) to trust creates an irresistible pull for any fan of dark dystopian fiction.
We get to find out a bit more about Eprah's cause in this third installment. It was an enjoyable read, and some things I suspected were confirmed, along with finding out some information that surprised me. The ending was fun to read. It felt like Sage's voice is older than her actual ten years, though.
