Unquiet Mind #2

Skeletons of Us

Rate this book
Love can be a beautiful thing.
It can fill up your life with the warmth of its embrace and spread to every corner of your mind.
It can quiet your soul.
But when that love turns wrong, it twists and warps into something bitter and unrecognizable.
The pain of it promises unyielding noise in place of that half-remembered silence.
Lexie has lived with this pain for four years, pouring it into music that transformed Unquiet Mind into the most famous rock band in the world.
But fame can also turn ugly, curl into that bitter version of love and endanger everything Lexie holds dear.
The moment Lexie’s life is threatened, he comes back to ensure she stays alive.
Killian.
He’s not just back to save her life, he’s back to save her soul and to claim what’s his.
Problem is, someone else already considers Lexie his, and he’ll kill to make sure she stays that way.

If you read my review or heard anything about book one, Echoes of You you know for certain that I fell in love with the book as well as Lexie and Killian But really I fell in love with them in Mia and Zane's book. I knew they were special and I knew if we got their story it would be epic. I had very high standards for this book, I had many exceptions and many wants and yes demands(not really well.... kind of lol) This couple was so special to me, they weren't just words on a page they were real and exceptional to me. After book one once I picked myself up off the floor I started counting the days till book two would be released, I actually had to put book one out of my mind so I would be able to wait for book two because I knew if I didn't the wait would be unbearable.

Four years ago Killian said goodbye to Lexie for her own good, so that she could be what he knew she was destined to always be. Those four years have changed them both. Killian is now a member of the MC he always considered his family and Lexie is a world famous star. Killian has been in hell for those four years and fighting has been the only thing that has given him a small margin of release from that constant pain. Lexie closed herself off and focused all her pain into writing, neither are the same and both are shells of who they used to be.

After a tragic event Lexie see's someone looking in on her in her house. When the police are called Lexie learns that there is much more that her band mates and friends haven't told her. Trying to handle this on her own and not wanting her mother who is pregnant to worry Lexie hires security to keep her safe till the police can find and capture the person stalking her. One night while at home her stalker gets too close and her and a dear friends life hangs in the balance. Knowing the only person who can help her is Zane Lexie calls him.

Killian spends a lot of time at the club house so when Zane gets a phone call Killian isn't far away. When Zane's demeanor changes Killian instantly knows something is wrong and when he finds out it's Lexie Killian can only think about getting to her. The years have made Lexie into the beautiful but broken woman standing before Killian and the only thing Killian can think of is keeping her safe by any mean nesasery after finding out what has been going on in Lexie's life.

Even if seeing Killian after all these years breaks Lexie's heart all over again she can't help but be glad seeing him again. But him being by her side every second of every day is torture even if it's to keep her safe, and every time she turns around he alway seems to be there. The more time Killian and Lexie spend together the more they find it hard to deny the love they could never get over, till it all comes to a head and they can't deny they are still both very much in love.

The love is better and stronger than before and all consuming. Neither Lexie or Killian can believe how happy they are and how much they are looking forward to the future they never thought they would get together. Even with a crazy stalker after her Lexie has never been happier of more complete. Loving Killian and learning how he has changed Lexie finds the peace only he can give her. Killian never though he was good enough for Lexie but seeing her again he knows there is no place he would rather be. Letting go of the pain only makes room for their future but First Killian has to make sure they have a future, but if the person after her has anything to say about it they won't.

I loved this book I hated that Killian and Lexie were apart but when they get back together it is all that much more sweet. Seeing how broken they both were was heartbreaking, they were both shells of themselves and neither of them really ever lived with out each other. But them getting back together couldn't have been any sweeter. Killian is just as amazing but all grown up, yes he's hardened around his edges but that just makes him more astonishing. Lexie is his air he breathes and you can tell them being apart has been like he's been dead.

Lexie is just as sweet, smart, and thoughtful as well as kind but Killian walking away was like a line in her life. Everything was before and after they moment Killian broke her heart. Though Lexie has found fame, and has people who love her dearly around her she is broken and Lexie really hasn't lived. Both Lexie and Killian were made for each other and without the other half they are both shells of themselves.

I loved that though Killian is this bog bad biker he still is so sweet, he still is just as sweet but harder around the edges. Their relationship was and is so special to me, this is a book that has been with me long after it and book one were finished. Its a book/series I wish I could read over for the first time again. I love that we see all the old gang in this book, Mia and Zane are also so special to me and I loved seeing how they are now, and seeing how Zanes protective instincts are stronger than ever.

We also get to see more of the band and see snippets of their stories. I can't wait for what is to come. I love the tie ins we see and it's just made me even more excited for the books coming. And then their was Lexie and Zane. I can't tell you how monumental their relationship is to me. I loved it in Zane and Mia's book, I loved it in book 1 and was so impressed with the growth we see, and in this book you get even more beauty that is their relationship. We see a true unconditional father daughter bond and relationship that is no different has Lexie been his biological daughter.

I have to admit I am sad to see this book/series that yes was epic come to an end. There have been so many amazing moments literally too many to note. This book had me in tears, multiple times. I loved that even when they were apart Lexie was always with Killian and Anne Malcom does a remarkable job showing us this and that moment in particular had me flipping out. Anne Malcolm is a exceptional author. The growth she has shown is a little scary because its so amazing. She grabs ahold of you with these stories and characters making you unable to do anything be come along for the ride. I can't wait for hats to come, I love all these characters so much, they have become so important to me and I am excited to see what she will come up with next.

Do I recommend this book/series, yes I can't recommend it enough if your on the fence here's me pushing you:} Also please note you do need to read book one before this book since these two book are Lexie and Killian's full story but be happy that means you have two whole books to enjoy.

Coming at you on September 2nd!! I finally get to give Killian & Lexie the HEA they deserve. We get to see how far the band has come and how fame has changed the teenagers we met in Echoes of Silence. What hasn't changed, is how Killian & Lexie feel about each other. It's just a lot more complicated.
I can't wait to share this story with you all.

★Review★

I adored Lexi and Killian when we met them in The Sons of Templar series, adored them more in their own book, and nothing changed for me in this one where we see the conclusion to their story.

Lexi and Killian have been apart for 4 years and have both felt the pain of that separation. But when Lexi is threatened, nothing will keep Killian away and he will stop at nothing to rebuild Lexi and rebuild what they had.

I just loved this book. It was painful at times, Lexi carried so much pain and heartbreak, and Killian just felt so much for her. And he was determined to protect her at all costs, taking the abuse from her band (who are also seriously protective of Lexi) and dealing with Lexi's anger at him.

Add in the suspense plot and it was a great book. Full of heartbreak, pain, drama and love. This book made me cry, and usually I do not cry at books, mainly as I am a hard hearted cow.

And Anne Malcom gets her very own collection on my kindle, usually I just sort books into genre collections, but a few favourite authors get their own collection.

Cannot wait for the rest of the band to get their own books, and hope maybe we get a series with Keltan and his guys too.

An excellent 5 stars.

Oh, (and bearing in mind I finished this book a few days ago, but have had a family wedding and a lot of Gin since) we know Lexie had another "relationship" if you could call it that, but i seriously do not at all remember it even being mentioned about Killian with other women, or having to "bump" into any women he might have had whilst they were separated. For those that might be concerned about that.

This was a satisfying conclusion to Killian and Lexcie's story. I am hoping for a potential Wyatt and Emma novel. I'm pretty curious about what's going on there. They seem to have something there.

As for our main couple, I was happy with all of the loose ends being tied in this and seeing both protagonists grow and develop into more well rounded and fully whole individuals. After all they've been through, it was about damn time. Was so satisfying too to get extra goodies on them too. It made me feel like I was being spoiled. Ah, a surprisingly enjoyable read.

Oh dear god kill me now

This book hit and stabbed every feminist button I possess. Which is actually difficult to do! I'm not ashamed I'm not that big on "Girl Power!" or cutting off my nose just to spite my face. I like men opening doors for me, I grew up with my Dad cranking up the car so Mom and I could get in a toasty vehicle. If there are heavy things I'll gladly let a guy carry them instead - but I also have a gun and know how to use it, I know how to change my tires and change my oil, and if said man isn't around to lift heavy things I will lift them myself. I also don't exist to be with man - my whole world isn't a man (or woman).

I guess that's what really burned me with this book. It picks up four years after Killian "destroyed" Lexie. Yes, destroyed. Gah did I hate that. Like some breakup could destroy someone? Yes it was her first heartbreak - trust me, I remember mine. I thought the world ended... BUT FOR FOUR YEARS?! Hell no. And I hate that the author did that! Ugh... bad taste left in my life.
It was mentioned multiple times how in the four years they were separated Lexie's life was so diminished and her "light" was gone and blah blah blah #killmenow

Your worth is not determined from someone else. #endrant

I couldn't put this down, especially with all the characters I love showing up! I love the bikers and I love the band members. I really hope Sam and the boys get their own books. I also hope there is a spin off series with the new California chapter. And I need Lucky's story...he and Bex were together, but I haven't read that yet!!! Keep writing Ms. Malcolm!!

**This will have spoilers from the previous book**

This reads like a reboot of the 1992 movie The Bodyguard except Frank Farmer is a biker dude, and Rachel Marron is an emotional pop singer. Seriously, what happened to Lexie?? The mature, confident, wise Lexie from Out of the Ashes had a personality transplant and constantly cries and runs off without her security detail while someone is trying to kidnap her. She acted like protection was a hassle when it was a serious stalker situation. For example, this is after someone has been stabbed protecting her.

“And you were going to go. On your own?” His voice was flat, but there was no missing the anger lurking in his eyes. I met his stare, thankful he was across the room. “I’ve been driving myself to and from photo shoots for years, Killian. I don’t see a problem.”

We start out 3-years after Echoes of Silence ended, so we’re 4-ish years into the breakup. I mentioned this before, but I really felt like the breakup explanation would’ve worked better had he just told her the truth then cut her off. It just didn’t make sense because to borrow Sam’s tirade from his book…

You spent four fucking years in your own wasteland because you were so certain that the man who loved you throughout the whole of high school, the man who took a fucking bullet for you, was breaking up with you because he, what? Popped your cherry and suddenly didn’t love you anymore? That’s the biggest load of horseshit ever. You were miserable for four years because you didn’t know what was good for you. You were so quick to think the fucking worst of him, just like you’re doing to me. Right now.”

Or from Killian…..

“I told you how much you meant to me for two years, spent every day showing you that. Seven hundred and sixty- eight days I showed you that you were my fuckin’ everything. You let three words convince you of something different. You believed five minutes of lies over two years of truths.”

It was obvious to her parents and the entire MC, but she never got a clue?? 🤷‍♀️ I wish this was explained better because as is, her reaction/brokenness felt OTT, and I got tired of her hang-ups. I’ve seen cheaters have to kiss less ass, and all he really did was break up so she would follow her dream to be a famous singer.

I liked how the separation OP was left vague. We know they were both with others, but it wasn’t serious, and I didn’t get the impression either was getting around much. I liked that he drowned himself in booze and fighting rather than club skanks. So, there’s zero OW/OM drama at all.

Bottom Line- This series really isn’t my usual thing, but I got so invested in their coupling that I had to see them through. I was disappointed with her tstl attitude, but was pretty happy with Killian. Although, I wish his change of mind to go get his girl was fleshed out a bit more. I was happy with seeing their HEA, but won’t continue with the series. It was very dramatic, but almost in a YA way, and her endings are getting a little too formulaic.

The story I wanted

This was the story I thought I was getting in the first book. Glad I got it. Lexie at times got on my nerves, but I over looked it. Have to say and I cringe to say it and anyone who reads this is going to roll their eyes and say, “Seriously, she said that!” The story had a tad Bella/Edward theme. Yes the know it all guy who leaves because it is better this way and the stupid girl who believes the guy and gets tore up about it. Then the drama to get back to the love commences. Oh well had to say it.

Good read

What can I say?!? Anne is an awesome writer and this book was a good solid read. I always love that she has good solid male characters and kickbutt women. There were two reasons why this wasn't 5 stars for me. One, I did think the storyline was a bit predictable and two, I did have a hard time viewing Lexie as an adult (between her being a child in the two previous books and simply the way she acted). Overall, though a thoroughly enjoyable read.

This book takes place four years after Echoes of Silence. It shows us where both Lexie and Killian are in life. So many feelings in this book. Their story broke my heart and put it back together again. I absolutely adore these characters and their honest, flawed portrayals. The author doesn't sugarcoat anything and as a reader I'm grateful for that. This book is dark in places, definitely emotional but it's also beautiful. The love between Killian and Lexie is stuff of legends. Their affection, their chemistry and the rightness of them together just makes me smile. Make sure you have your tissues ready.

Wow! I loooved this fantastic conclusion to Killian and Lexie’s story. They’ve both grown and changed so much, but their chemistry remains just as strong, their passion just as hot! I also really enjoyed hanging with all my favorite character from Sons of Templar. Highly recommend the Sons, Greenstone, and Unquiet Mind series! They all tie in together and feature all the characters that you will just LOVE!

5 BEAUTIFUL HARD STARS!! Love can be so hard, but that is what makes it worth while. Killian and Lexie's love is broken and I felt it in my bones and my heart hurt so bad. These two broken beautiful souls, need each in so many ways. Their story will hit all your emotion buttons. You definitely need to read book 1 in this series first before this Book. This story is a must read for any romance read who likes hard love stories.

Skeletons of Us continues where Echoes of Silence ended. The second book in the Unquiet Mind -series. I read the book in one sitting, Anne Malcom knows how to hold the reader's interest.

“I had to let you go, so you could fly and so I could stay in the life that was the only one I could live in without you.” (39% Kindle edition). This is how Killian explains his actions to Lexie, and it takes a while before Lexie understands the meaning behind those words. It takes almost the whole book, a couple of life threatening situations and few swoon worthy moments for Lexie to realize where she belongs.

Of the characters, I loved Zane, Sam, and Noah. I’d like to read Noah’s story, and I want him to find love, to find the courage to live as his true self. Skeleton of Us has many layers, and it had more depth both character and story wise compared to Echoes of Silence. I enjoyed reading it and was happy how Anne Malcom concluded Lexie’s and Killian’s story.

This is part two of Lexi and Killian. It is a fantastic conclusion. There are lots of appearances from the band and the rest of the MC family which is amazing.

So Lexi's life is endangered due to her famous lifestyle and Killian uses it as an opportunity to insert himself back into her life. I loved the fact that despite all his advances she doesn't just fall back into his arms, as if she couldn't resist, she fights him and its a fine balance between too much fight or not enough with these sort of story-lines but i felt Anne Malcom gets it just right. That said it is a very emotional read, lots of painful conversations as to why Killian broke it off and the effect it has had on them both.
I also found it well expressed the way he sees that her lifestyle is not what he thought it would be, all the promo work and falseness. He thought he was releasing her to live out her dreams but it has also cost her and marked her and she is not the same idealistic dreamer she was from book one. Music is one thing, the fame is something completely different. He tried to protect her from the dark side of the world and yet here she is in the middle of it.
The scene is also set for stories on the band.
I also like that in the three/four years they have been apart there is not much detail about their relationships with others, its unrealsitic to think there would be no other love interests but I hate the man-whore story-lines and with Killian being part of the biker scene i really didn't want to read that esp when 'Lexi' is his one.
There is also lots of mention of Peyton who we read about in Amy's story, as Ian's friend who has left the marines and is now running a security firm, this opens up an opportunity for a whole new spin off series... he he.

"Who knew you could fall for someone twice? Once when you were young and naive and love was a beautiful thing and falling was glorious. And a second time when you were older and knew better and the fall was full of pain and suffering and the result was still the same."

Lexie, lead singer of Unquiet Mind, broken from a troubled past, learns trouble lurks and brings the past that broke her right to her doorstep. That painful past includes Knights of Templar MC, namely her first love, Killian. Banning together to protect her from an outside threat, they clash together and fireworks ignite. Despite the animosity, they still have strong and intense feelings for each other, muddled by hurt, anger, and confusion. Killian is just a perfect alpha god, quiet, broody, and insanely hot. This story is suspenseful, heart wrenching, and loaded with a cast of endearing, amusing, and lovable characters that I do hope to meet again.

It masterfully captured the pain, regret, and need of two people trying to find themselves and make their way back to each other. A once in a lifetime love leaps from the pages and draws you in, not wanting to miss a moment of these two. I held my breath, cried a little, and seriously felt so satisfied with the incredible ending, this book was so, so good!!

"You just have to learn what the right kind of pain love is. The person that has the power to hurt you but will give you a thousand days of happiness and only a second of pain."

Skeletons of Us is the sequel to the first book in this series, and it was a lot better than the first one to me.

In this one, Lexie's in a lot of danger, and when the club finds out Killian will do everything in his power to keep her safe, and get her back in his life. He's finally seeing the damage he did to her four years ago, and he's kicking himself for hurting her so much.

And Lexie doesn't trust Killian, she's so scared to get hurt again, but she also can't seem to stay away from him either. These two must figure out what they truly want before Lexie's stalker gets the better of them.

This book was actually sad at times. I felt bad for both Lexie and Killian. Even though I was mad at both of them for how they acted at times, I still was glad how the story turned out. And I enjoyed how this book was a mix of both of their lives, and how they can make it work together. I also loved what Killian was willing to do to be with Lexie. And Lexie just wanted him, nothing else. That was truly beautiful.

I will say how Lexie acted the first part of the book was understandable, but when she continued like that, that was majorly annoying and I felt like the switch flipped way to quickly, but I still liked how it turned out in the end. Overall, this one was pretty good.

HOLY CHEESE AND RICE I LOVED THIS BOOK !!!!!!!!!! Has to be one of my top reads by Anne Malcom and I can't wait to see what more she comes up with . You will laugh , cry you're eyes out , swoon so hard , get mad , be on the edge of you're seat well in my case bed , and fan yourself with kindle or paperback major book hangover . I lurve with this couple even they have so much chemistry and attraction they are drawn to one another even though they are so different they just were made for the other . My heart hurt at the end of Echoes of silence even though I understood why Killian did what he did it didn't change the way my heart cracked for them both . I loved all the characters it was so good to see characters from sons of templar and Lexies band mates I love Sam and his overprotective self . I'm so excited to read more from this author .

with book one I was left devastated... On one hand you fully understood what was happening and why but on the other hand you were angry and wanted to throw your kindle at something

this one left me in bliss because they got the Hea they totally deserved. The bitterness and anger the h feels was perfect. Imagine the world when your heart wasn't beating it your lungs couldn't get enough air. Both the H and h show you exactly what life is like when your not really loving it only surviving. Your broken along with them. Oh but once these two are back together it's beautiful

i loved ver getting to see older characters from previous books and I can't want to see if the boys in the band get books themselves.

my only ehh moment with this book was it was more angsty than I would have liked. And I don't mean getting a second book but the time it took these two to one back together took a little too long for my book but it was great and I seriously enjoy this author!

A continue book of Echo of Silence . Killian let the love of his life go so Lexie could go on tour and live a beautiful life with out being into the Mc scene with him. Four years later Lexie ends up getting a stalker and needs help who comes to her rescue Killian the man Lexie has tried to forget and has made her into a skeleton. Killian knows he made a mistake his light has been gone way to long and he will do whatever he has to to get Lexie (freckles) back in his life forever. Will Lexie forgive Killian? 2 hearts, 2 souls, a love so true and strong.....broken.

How do you get over that? If your Lexie and Killian, you dont.

This book is the 2nd part to their story, a bit older, a bit wiser and still broken.

This book is bloody marvellous....I thought Echoes was great but this second part to the duet takes the prize! These 2 books together made me speechless...so much emotion, love and angst. If you love reading then you will buy these books!

Goes down as another off my 2017 Bookworm Bingo Challenge – A book about music or musicians. Broken hearts and souls on both sides with Lexie and Killian so lets hope second time around is the last. Have to agree with one thing Killian said about how easily she believed five minutes of lies after two years of truth with him constantly telling her how much she meant to him. As soon as she really accepts this she can finally see why he did it. Doesn’t mean he wasn’t a complete plank for doing it in the first place. He’s older now and has one thing on his mind, getting his girl back. More so than ever before when he finds out a crazy stalker is after her.

Killian went to a darker place as a way to cope – or in this case not cope – with his feelings after they split. Lexie on the other hand just shut down emotionally. Living but not really existing for four years. Something big needed to happen to get them back in the same room let alone State. That happens to be when a crazy ass stalker breaks into her place and attacks her and her friend/bodyguard. Guess they thought they were safe behind locked doors but this guy is crafty and seems to get close without any effort. Not that she knew at first she was in a bit if danger. It seems her bandmates thought it wise to keep the creepy letters away from her but this guy has stepped up his game. After phoning the police there’s really only one person Lexie would call and that’s Zane. When you get to see his side of the conversation on Killian’s POV you see just how much he loves her as a daughter. Well him and Killian too. Should take four hours to get from Amber to Lexie but Killian does it in two. He’s going to protect his girl and no one and nothing is going to stop him. She’s always been his; he just has to make her see it again.

The first time Lexie spots Killian at the hospital time almost stops. You can tell she just wants to run to him as she’s scared but another type of fear and shock stop her. Well that and her boys make it very clear he’s not welcome – not that that’s going to make him leave. Seems as soon as Zane and him know the whole story their only thought is to protect her. Zane would stay but with her mum being pregnant again he knows she’d then stay and would fine out the truth about the attacker. After almost loosing her the first time you can see he wants to wrap her up in cotton wool. This means Killian is staying and he makes it clear that he has every intension of putting a bullet in the stalkers head. Tensions are running high between them and you can see how much she is fighting and hurting by being near him again. They need each other to heal but it seems they both need to break to start the process. She’s good at ignoring him to begin with but its not long before she is tempted. Love the club scene when she’s like “Fuck it, I’m going to have the cupcake” you’ll know what I mean when you get to it. But it’s when she sings the song Skeletons of Us (a song they never sing live) at a show that makes them both snap. Hello heated fun in her dressing room! Passion overloads but after the haze falls fear of the past and being hurt again makes her run. She should learn by now that no matter how far she runs he will always follow and bring her back. When the past is faced they can start building something new but the little issue of the stalker is still there no matter how much they want to stay in their bubble. Seriously hot off the charts chemistry between these two. That clearly isn’t an issue when trying to find a way to make it work. He brings her back to life again just like she does for him.

Love her bandmates. Sam and Wyatt clearly love all the groupie attention they get now they are famous. Noah is a bit more reserved, mainly due to not coming out yet. Four years changes a lot but that group is still as strong as ever. Love the catch up with Zane and Mia and others from the club. It might be the world Killian wanted to keep her from so she could reach her dreams but it’s the world she belongs in with him. She’s back where she belongs with whom she belongs. Lets just hope it stays that way. Loved these characters right from the start. Such a gripping story that will keep you hooked right until the end. There is nothing they wouldn’t do for each other and I do mean nothing.

Oh side note the tattoos he has done are brilliant and I love her reaction when she sees them. She’s soon starting to realise that no matter where she was physically she was always with him in his heart and soul. Their love was so intense when they were younger and I’m glad Killian admits to being a stupid kid for letting her go. But he’s a man now, one that has no intention of ever letting her go again. The two of them against the world, just as it’s meant to be. He definitely redeems himself here and goes back to being awesome boyfriend again.

I received this ARC from the author for my honest review.

Skeletons of Us is book two in the Unquiet Mind series by Author Anne Malcom. It is best enjoyed when reading book one first, as this is a continuation of Lexie and Kill’s story. But, it is also a great idea to back up and read the Sons of Templar series so that you get a proper introduction to this couple.

I have not finished the SOT series, but when I knew Lexie and Kill had a separate story (actually two) dedicated to them, I HAD to read them. My first introduction to Lexie and Kill was as teens. It was fascinating and exciting to witness their young love that was so pure and hopeful. They came from different worlds, but collided in the most beautiful ways.

“The world at my feet meant nothing without you by my side.”

Coming back to them in Skeletons of Us was soul shattering. The emotional torture in the novel was exquisite. That sounds like an impossibility. But to have known the beginning and experience the middle was a creative work of art. There were MAJOR ugly cry moments. Oh my gosh. Times when words spoken completely undid me and filled me with sadness.

“Lexie, I promise, I swear to you, if you give me another chance to take care of your heart, to cherish it, I’ll protect it with my dying breath.”

But, the undercurrent of love and redemption could never be removed from Lexie and Kill. Lexie’s light was too bright. Kill’s devotion and resolve too substantial. They were never complete without the other.

Skeletons of Us made me lose my mind...repeatedly. But it also gave some of the most immense feels and hopeful moments that forged the way for an unforgettable love story. My favorite novel by this author thus far.

Simply Wow....

Oh my freaking goodness. What an amazing follow up for Lexie and Killian.

This book had it all and so much more. I freaking love this couple and their story ripped me up. Their love for one another was one I enjoyed reading even when my heart was ripping apart before being put back together.

You couldn't ask for more with these two books along side the Sons of Templar series. Best buy ever and taking the leap into the world created by this amazng author, Anne Malcolm.

The secondary characters of Sam, Wyatt and Noah have been this amazing presence in the back ground but yet front and centre as much as Lexie, Killian, Mia and Zane over the couple of books.

Sam's banter through his time in the Son series as well as this series has been a highlight. Totally cracked me up so many times. Noahs presence has also been big for me and I look forward to Noahs story. The way the 3 guys looked out for Lexie was so special.

Zanes presence in this book was always special and a small part of me kept waiting for Lexie to call him Dad. My heart ached for him and Killian at the part in the book that was just them. Zane is my favourite of the Sons. By far.

To have the ability to write words that come off the pages to make you fall in love with these two beautiful characters you have to be a talented Author and the more books I read of Anne Malcoms, she cements herself as one very talented Lady.

If you haven't read anything by this amazing women, then you need to start. Like yesterday!!

It's time for Killian and Lexie's journey to be concluded! This is book 2 of 2, so it is highly recommend that you read ‘Echoes of Us’ first.

The Sons of Templar, Unquiet Mind & Greenstone Security Universe reading order;
*Making the Cut (SOT MC #1)
*Firestorm (SOT MC #2)
*Outside the Lines (SOT Novella #2.5)
*Out of Ashes (SOT MC #3)
*Echoes of Silence (UM #1)
*Skeletons of Us (UM #2)
*Beyond the Horizon (SOT MC #4)
*Dauntless (SOT MC #5)
*Broken Shelves (UM #3)
*Still Waters (GS #1)
*Shield (GS #2)
*Battles of the Broken (SOT MC #6)

Such a sweet and joyful ending to a very tragic and horrific story for Killian and Lexie (Lillian).

This book takes place Four years after Killian broke Lexie’s heart in ‘Echoes of Us’. You will get to witness how Kill and Lexi have grown and changed since that horrible moment on the deck, you will also get to marvel in how wonderfully the band Unquiet Minds has done since signing the contract. But FYI make sure to have tissues ready as you are going to need them, cause you heart is going to BREAK into a million pieces just to have it repair and mend to have it destroyed again and again.

“But that’s what love is sometimes, pain. You just have to learn what the right kind of pain love is. The person that has the power to hurt you but will give you a thousand days of happiness and only a second of pain. I think that’s worth it. Don’t you?” Such a heartfelt message...

I absolutely adore Killian and Lexi especially in book 1 when we get to them grow and become such soul mates and really see them shine and then it all goes to hell which brings us too Skeletons of Us.

I couldn’t wait to get in to this book and see what was going to happen, Lexi the rockstar and Killian the patched in member of SOT, well there lives took them quite the way from each other and reading the first part of this book and feeling how broken these two were even after four years, but i love how Anne Malcom’s writing makes you feel everything the character is feeling.

Killian was in a dark place and so was Lexi, she had celebrity status but she wasn’t whole and you could tell that she loved her music and it’s what she loved to do.

This book had it all, the 2nd chance love, the very protective alpha, we had suspense and an amazing story line. The chemistry between Killian and Lexi was just burning of the pages and it had you so invested in this story.

I loved how we got more Mia and Bull the boys from the band of course which now has me really excited for the rest of thier books and Lexis best friends Emma and Gina. This book just made this duet for Killian and Lexi so perfect and agin i found more music which i love.

This book had it all and if you haven’t read Anne Malcom yet it’s a must living her stories and writing.

5 huge stars for this book.

Lexie is a doormat h, Killian only cares for himself despite what he says otherwise.

I’m a little disappointed in this book. It was terribly predictable and didn’t give me feels. Killian’s alpha male brooding didn’t do much for me. And to be quite honest, this feels like a spin on S1E18 of Criminal Minds. I got the same vibes but not. It’s all i kept thinking about the whole time reading the book that i already knew who done it. There wasn’t suspense for me, just a lot of angry sm3x.

I was also pissed at everyone. Everyone knew Lexie was “broken” but did nothing to help her. Just tried to shield her. I get it kinda, but once Killian comes back. “Oh no, he might break her again but at least she’ll be alive…”. Uhh no. She was FORCED TO deal with him by those closest to her. Forced to deal with emotions she didn’t want to. Forced to let him back into her life. THAT IRKED ME. all these people claiming they loved her. Knew how badly he destroyed her. And yet, they were willing to let it happen again, but “secretly” wishing for the best.

And we just gon brush past the subtle impression that Killian “waited” for Lexie in the beginning… but at the end of the book when talking bout past lovers no indication of anything? Oh but Lexie felt “broken” even more after she slept with someone new….
