Jake is a deputy and also works for search and rescue. He is called out look for an escaped convict called Abby, who is serving for life and has also got a history of mental instability. Jake tracks her down soon enough and she tries to escape with proclamations of innocence, Jake doesn't believe her. Ever since he was taken in and fleeced by a woman, he has no intention of falling for the same.

Abby is a desperate woman, she is innocent and her life is in danger. She was betrayed by the man she thought she loved and now is serving life, but she is prepared mentally and physically to do whatever it takes. She is mouthy and still has humour. As soon as she gets the chance she throws Jake's radio away so that he can't call for help and they have to take refuge in a cabin in the snowy weather.

I didn't enjoy the book as much as the first in the series. Jake feels an attraction for her he doesn't want to, she's a convict and he is the officer of the law. He does believe her eventually but he still has to take her in.

It felt incomplete to me at the end for some reason and not as romantic.

Linda Castillo is a better author than this book illustrates. Her style can be smooth and skillful; her plots are usually detailed and clearly presented. This book was highly formulaic and predictable. I don’t enjoy such shallow plots and stereotypical characters.

Really good story, until the very end where it lost some credibility. Why would the shooter suddenly stop shooting bullets and start shooting pictures? They still wanted her dead. Why could the shooter find them when the rest of the RMSAR team couldn't? Never explained. And then the chief villain turned into a cartoon character at the end. But overall a good story if you like hot Colorado cowboy cops. Yum! 3.5 stars.

I'm not sure how I feel about this book. I was enjoying the cat and mouse aspect of the initial story but by the end I found it predictable. Although I am still wondering how the sniper found them when the search and rescue team couldn't and also he couldn't have been a very good sniper considering he missed them when they were literally sitting ducks. And finally, after 2/3 days together, they were completely in love with each other and were going to get married, really?????

Abby, a former nurse, escapes from prison. Jake is a deputy who is looking for her. Jake captures Abby but they are in the Colorado mountains and a big snowstorm prevents them from returning to the sheriffs office. During those 2 days together battling the elements, Abby tells Jake about how she was convicted. Jake, a seasoned deputy listens. He is fighting attraction to Abby and common sense. Then a sniper starts shooting at both of them and Jake is starting to believe there is more to Abby's story. It was a good story and well written. I did not care for the ending. It left me feeling like it was incomplete.

I love Linda Castillo Burkholder series. I have ready every one...sometimes twice.
I did not know about this earlier series until Amazon Kindle recommended it. This is the second
book in this series I have read. Although not as good as the Burkholder series. it is a fast read and pulls your right in.

I knew I didn't care for romance novels, but since I had read one of Castillo's Kate Burkholder series books (mysteries), I thought I'd try "Just a Little Bit Dangerous." The story was exciting and the main characters were likable and mostly believable, but the repetition of all the hot, bothered lust got old quick. The constant talk about how wonderful Abby's mouth tasted was ridiculous. She'd been in the mountains for two days with no toothbrush. I seriously doubt her mouth tasted like some exotic fruit. The story was, for the most part, fast-paced, which increased the drama, making it hard to put down. If you can skim past all the tedious descriptions of ogling and deep, throaty kisses, it's a decent read. This is one time I believe the story would make a better movie than a book. I think I'll stick to Castillo' s other books and stay away from the romance writing.

I read this because I read the author's Kate Burkholder series. This story was different from the Amish life of Chief Burkholder, but it still had its roots in law enforcement. A bit of adventure, a bit of a love story. I wish there was more to the ending (an epilogue, perhaps, telling us what became of all the characters) but a quick fun read overall.

I really like the Kate Burkhart series and have read every book. I thought I would try one of her early works. The theme was good and interesting but the interaction between the two main characters was almost too much to take. It was like hearing about two teenagers whose hormones were running amuck, give me a break Linda you almost forgot to have them come up for air. Enough was enough!

Meh. Too heavy on the wilderness stuff and not enough on the investigation. Not very realistic. Her later books are much better.

Not too bad for a typical romantic cop/beautiful felon story. At least it ended well.

What you would expect from Harlequin/Silhouette. Not complaining, but if you are not into the sappy romance, don't read this.
The sexy hero, search & rescue cop on horseback...
Stuck in a sparse cabin with a beautiful escaped convict, exclaiming she was framed.
Hmmm, what do you think happens? Enjoyable easy read.

Not the best Harlequin I've ever read, and not the worst, either. Cabin romance, with the added twist that the hero thinks the heroine's a crazy murderess, or likely one, for most of the book, which would make things quite squicky in real life.

Another on my keeper shelf! Loved the action and sexual tension in Just A Little Bit Dangerous. I sure did love Harlequin's Intimate Moments line. Recommended read!

Sappy Harlequin romance novel with predictable plot and outcome. Woman is convicted of second degree murder and escapes prison at beginning of snow storm. Hunky guy finds her and they spend two days in cabin where they are “in heat” but abstain. She tries to run away numerous times. Someone is also trying to kill her so she can’t reveal the truth of what happened. At the end…the bad guys are caught, the girl and guy live happily ever after…assured of their love for each other after just three days of knowing each other.
