She is an adult convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and this sometimes shows in her works. She grew up in the Disciples of Christ Church.

From the family of Paul

I never thought my family and I would see this book published. My son found this book on the twentieth anniversary Paul's death November twenty six. It were having a ruff day but the finding out about this book lifted our spirits which we differently needed. We miss him very much. Thank you Martha he would have been so proud. Thank you for getting it published. You both worked hard on this book.
