Believing that the President's foreign policies cost the agonizing death of his only brother, Steven Collier hates the President with every ounce of his being. He succeeds in talking himself into the Secret Service and then into the Presidential Protection Detail with the deliberate intention of bringing about the assassination of the man he believes to be the most dangerous in the world. Now, during a July 4 parade, his pistol is in his hand. He has half a second to decide whether he will really do it. Only half a second. And the whole world is watching. Including the woman he loves more than life. Written by former CSI and Agatha-nominated writer Anne Wingate and late Secret Service agent Paul Albergine and later rewritten by Anne Wingate, this book shows the nitty-gritty underside of the Secret Service, except for things that were changed or omitted for security reasons.
Anne Wingate, born in 1943 as Martha Anne Guice, is a mystery writer currently living in Salt Lake City, Utah. Most of her mysteries are set somewhere within Texas. She is an adult convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and this sometimes shows in her works. She grew up in the Disciples of Christ Church.
I never thought my family and I would see this book published. My son found this book on the twentieth anniversary Paul's death November twenty six. It were having a ruff day but the finding out about this book lifted our spirits which we differently needed. We miss him very much. Thank you Martha he would have been so proud. Thank you for getting it published. You both worked hard on this book.
