About the author

Tina Folsom is a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author. 3 1/2 "Any mention of Zane gets my full attention" Stars!

A nice little addition to the Scanguards Vampires series. These guys are some of my favorite vamps. Just the mention of Zane's name makes by heart go pitter patter. Any who, I liked it. More witches, excellent! Can't wait for the next one. Happy reading!

PS. By the way... Zane had practically nothing to do with this story. It's just when ever he's mentioned, or has any page time, Zane always has my full attention. It's really not fair to the other characters... but oh well!

El odio de Roxanne por los brujos es bastante conocido por sus companeros, pero nadie sabe a que se debe, ya que casi todos los vampiros en Scanguard confian en Wesly. Pero su pasado vuelve a golpearla en la cara cuando el brujo que la traiciono regresa a su vida pidiendo la ayuda de Scanguards para proteger a su sobrina, una joven bruja tan poderosa que todos los aquelerres de brujas la buscan para matarla.
Charles siempre odio haber abandonado a Roxanne cuando ella mas lo necesitaba, pero la promesa que le hizo a su hermana de cuidar a su sobrina y el temor a que su sobrina le hiciera dano a Roxane en un descuido, era mucho mas grande. Pero la hora de entregar a su sobrina al aquelerre de brujas que la pudiera ayudar estaba llegando, y necesitaba muchisima proteccion para poder entregarla sana y salva y asi poder retomar su vida.
Roxanne debera aceptar y entender las razones de Charles, mientras Charles debe aceptar los cambios en la mujer que tanto ama, para que puedan detener la amenaza contra su sobrina y poder retomar su relacion donde la dejaron.

Volvemos al mismo tema del libro anterior, y si, es una historia corta, pero el autor nos deja con unos personajes de los cuales no sabemos nada de su pasado lo que impide que podamos realmente sentirnos atraidos por ellos. En este caso, un personaje como Roxanne que es una mujer fuerte, practicamente es tratada como una "damisela en apuros" y que solo por el amor de Charles pudo escapar. No permite saber nada de su pasado, quien la convirtio, como llego a ese clan, como conocio a Charles, como llego a Scangards. Y si vemos el personaje de Charles, es todavia peor, apenas sabemos que es brujo y mas nada!!
Una historia corta decepcionante, sin mayores emociones ni accion, ni siquiera el romance ni la quimica entre los protas atrae, es como si el autor le hubieran pedido un libro y les dio el borrador de la idea que tenia sin terminar. O sea, una lastima.
Bueno, voy con el ultimo de esta serie, que es acerca de otro de esos personajes que salieron de la nada y cayeron en Scanguards, y del que no tengo muchas esperanzas que sea mejor que ninguno de los 2 anteriores.

Charles the witch and Roxanne the vampire.
They fell in love 23 years ago when the witches and vampires were at war. She was under the thumb of a particularly nasty vampire. He had no ties (at least he thought he didn't).. They planned to run away together, but he left without her.
Now he shows up again asking for help, but she won't give him a chance to explain. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, as they say. The reason he needs Scanguards' help is tied to the reason he left without her all those years ago. I don't want to give anything away. It's a short tale but fun.
Safety stuff he has been celibate since they parted. She might not have been. It was unclear. If she wasn't it was just brief attempts to get over him and nothing recent. .
I did feel that the ending was a bit rushed with too much going on to focus on the romance. That's my only complaint though. I loved the way Roxanne kicked his ass for leaving her!
There's a bit of Zane in the story, being his usual curmudgeonly self ; )

True love

I know this was a quick read but once I started I could not put it down it was filled with a little suspense and lots of love. Charles's love was a true love to Roxanne. I've read all of the books in this series and love them all. You will to.

I think I’m mad that poor Roxanne only got a short story instead of a full length book. Her story was one that I was looking forward to in recent books, but didn’t even think it would be tackled in such a short read. That being said, it felt a little… rushed.

Roxanne has a past – we all know that. She’s got some serious attitude toward witches and hasn’t really been seen dating anyone while she’s been present in the background. I knew there was a story behind it, but could never have predicted that it was this. Apparently, while Roxanne was under Silas’s thumb, she was sneaking away to meet up with her lover, Charles.

Charles is a witch who was pretty much a loner. He was ready to help Roxanne fake her death and run away together until his sister gave him a massive responsibility. Unable to turn her away, Roxanne has spent a lot of time thinking that Charles abandoned her. Why didn’t he call? Some stupid martyr reason, of course.

Roxanne starts one chapter hating Charles, but by the end is taking her clothes off for him. I thought it felt really rushed and disjointed. I was, however, very interested in the witch storyline and all the mythology there. Again, I wish this were fleshed out in a full length novel instead of jammed into this story. Maybe we get more in the next book? I hope so.

I wasn't a big fan of Roxanne she spends the entire book hating Charles and in the last few pages, was like oh, I should have forgiven him...it had such a good reason. I will give you he did have a good reason, but you don't just turn on a dime like that. Why didn't she forgive him when he told her his reason or have more internal dialogue about how you got to forgiving him. It was too sudden for me. I hope we get to see the niece again.

Fateful Reunion...

A Scanguards Novella: Scanguards Vampires book 11.5. Vampires and Witches are enemies. Roxanne and Charles defied that. Or at least they did until one fateful night. Some very bad unforseen ish happens and the plans they had blew up and disintegrated. Charles disappeared and Roxanne ran away. Several years later they are thrown together in order to protect his niece who can end the freaking world. However it is not as easy as it seems. They are no longer or naive. Secrets, lies, and a whole lot of protecting one way or another. This book is full tilt of angst, drama action and some smexiness.

Scanguards novelette.

Roxanne has been a Scanguards bodyguard ever since she was left with a broken heart when her lover left without a word. Now her former lover has come to Scanguards asking for protection for his companion and he wants Roxanne to be part of the detail.

Footnote: 1) it’s the author's recommendation that you should probably read ‘Stealth Guardian’ books 1, 2 &3 next. While you don’t need to have read the crossover ‘Stealth Guardian’ series there is enough overlap to make it preferable.

Not one of Tina Folsom's best, not by a long shot. I had the same problem with "Oliver's Hunger" as I do with this one. No one showed any trust in Oliver, and with this book, Roxanne is not shown an ounce of respect. Being a woman lead, written by a woman, I expected far better of a character previously written as tough, intelligent and competent. Very disappointing.

I love this series.

Roxanne hates witches.......for a reason, Charles is a witch. They had a past but he left her......for a reason!!

This story is packed with action and excitement.

Will they, wont they......of course they do..... but the story to get there is well worth the read. I absolutely recommend this well written short story.

Woah, I didn't realize that would be so short. I rated it 3 stars because it was good, but not long enough or well developed enough (because of its length) to be amazing.
The plot was romantic and the angst was not overly drawn out, which I appreciated.

"Fateful Reunion" by Tina Folsom. Book 11.5 in the Scanguards Vampire series.

I loved this novella about Charles and Roxanne. Lost loves reuniting after a betrayal. Why were they really separated 23 years ago? You have to read to find out! Such an exciting story to read. If you've never read the series, I think you can read this as a stand alone because the characters are not the main focus in the overall series. Roxanne is a character that's been mentioned before but Charles is a new character.

Roxanne is a vampire working as a bodyguard for Scanguards. When her expertise is requested for a new potential client, she's up for the challenge. Until she finds out who the client is! Charles is a liar and a betrayer and he broke her heart when he left her with no explanation 23 years ago. She knows how strong he is. Why the hell would he need a bodyguard?

Charles is a witch and he needs protection. But it's not for himself. It's for his companion. Scanguards is the best place to provide protection and he knows Roxanne is there. Asking specifically for her gives him a chance to rekindle their past romance and gives him the chance to explain why he left all those years ago. He never stopped loving her. If she'd just give him a chance to explain, maybe Roxanne can forgive him.

I can't really say to much more about the story line because I'd ruin the whole thing for you. It's actually quite a heartbreaking little story. Lots of emotions from both characters. Excellent chemistry together. More than I expected in a novella. Action scenes mixed with just the right amount of humour keep the story flowing at a really good pace.

I really loved this addition to the series.

Quick read and or listen. This is not a run of the mill novella, it’s a bridge to a future filled with more reading for us die hard Folsom fans. Stealth Guardians being among more reading for me. This novella dives quickly into the past of Roxanne and Charlie, a past that tore them apart and now brings them back together. Will they finally get what they both have wanted and needed?

Fateful Reunion

Roxanne had been with the Scanguards for years and her only complaint was that she didn’t always get the best jobs while some of the younger more inexperienced vampires did. When she’s called in for a special project she thinks that it might just be a way to finally prove her self-worth. She didn’t count on the person that she had to help protect was a witch, a witch that just so happened to have been in love with twenty-three years earlier that vanished without a trace. She wants nothing to do with Charles or his companion because there is no way that she will lose her heart to him again.

My only complaint about this book was that it was just too damn short! The Scanguard series are one of my all-time favorite series, one that I hope will never end.

Now we know why Roxanne hates witches, why she CAN'T TRUST them & nut getting to know Wesley as a person, but JUST a Witch.
And that person well Witch comes back into her life asking for protection by Scanguards for his 'female companion'
Well what a heartbreak turmoil of a lifetime, well for humans at least of Roxanne thinking & believing that he had left her, high & dry with her tormented evil ex of her boss & lover, after staging her death.
But the Truth was he in his way of thinking as men sometimes do, thought he was saving her from what may occur, if she left with him in the end, as he had to protect his 'companion' as that 'companion' is his niece, the daughter of his sister, who has 'the mark' that ALL Witches are scared of. And EVERYONE aught to be scared of.
