Alibaba tries to restore Kou as a trading company but not everything goes according to plan thanks to Sinbad. The beginning of this volume is still related to the economy and the situation of this new world. Alibaba reminds me of young Sinbad who travels around the world, gathering friends and finally establishing Sindria Trading Company. I think that will be important later on. However, the most important part of the volume is the part we learn about Aladdin, Gyouken, and Sinbad. (2 years ago) Aladdin, Hakuryuu, and Morgiana has changed and living in secret while getting stronger. I love their new looks and the book ends with another cliffhanger.
Aladdin is tall. Aladdin is tall now. Aladdin is as tall as Morgiana. Aladdin has grown taller. Aladdin's height has increased exponentially. The height of Aladdin is above that of his last appearance. Aladdin's growth rate is truly incredible. The speed at which Aladdin has become tall is almost comparable to the amount of height he gained. Aladdin. Is. Tall.
In a world where corporate interests control the world.
Alibaba has been doing his best to help his friends in the Kou empire to survive the crushing debt they have suffered after Sinbad changed the world from one of hierarchies to one controlled by commerce. Just as everything was looking like it is all turning out for the best Alibaba discovers new truths about this world where rumors and information can damage or help everyone much easier then in the old days.
Of course with the return of Alibaba we get to see the return of some of our favorites all grown up since Alibaba has returned to his body (which was kept in suspended animation) after his soul was sent away in a battle years ago. However those that stand against Aladdin are also still very much alive in the world A story of business is littered with fantastic over the top battle scenes. :)
We finally know what happened to Aladdin and company and where they have been for the last couple of years. We also know that Sinbad is possibly being manipulated by Arba, but it’s hard to say. Sinbad isn’t a bad person but his goal is one that take away freedom of choice, so from a moral perspective, it’s pretty shit, and Aladdin was unable to talk him out of it. Perhaps that means that it’s up to Alibaba after all.
Disclaimer: I watched the anime and needed to read the manga as I loved this story. Unfortunately, I binged every volume back to back each moment I was free so its hard to distinguish what happened in each volume.
