Most of America think they have Cooper Simon figured out–he’s the playboy with no morals and a taste for married women. Cooper’s fine with that because he’s got secrets he’d rather keep buried. Who knew that spending a few months in Fisherman’s Landing would screw with his head. Or meeting a woman unlike any he’s met before, would be the key to unraveling all of his secrets…and maybe his heart.
After a horrific accident Morgan Campbell is grateful to be alive. So what if her life didn’t turn out the way it was supposed to? She lives quietly and keeps to herself. But meeting the most arrogant, infuriating, and sexy man will turn her world upside down. Because not only is Cooper Simon out of her league, he’d never be interested in someone like her. Can she be brave enough to step out of the box and reclaim the woman she once was? Or is she doomed to live in the shadows forever…
USA Today bestselling author and 2015 RITA® winner JULIANA STONE fell in love with books in the fifth grade when her teacher introduced her to Tom Sawyer. A tomboy at heart, she splits her time between baseball, books, and music. When she’s not singing with her band, she’s thrilled to be writing young adult as well as adult contemporary romance—books that have garnered starred reviews from Publishers Weekly & Booklist—from somewhere in the wilds of Canada.
I devoured this book. I couldn't wait for Cooper's story and it definitely don't disappoint.
I loved Morgan. She was sweet, carrying so much pain and just surviving. My heart broke for her.
The connection between her and Cooper was electric. Their chemistry was amazingly Hot. The way Cooper treated Morgan with tender loving care was so swoonworthy.
Basically this is a story with two people carrying a lot of pain but find in each other the balm that heals the old wounds and allows them to love again.
DNF @26% At this point in the story I expect something to be happening between the 2 main characters. I was getting bored, and not liking Cooper very much either.
Wow, this book packed a powerful punch as Cooper and Morgan overcome their demons. I figured I'd need some tissues near, and thank goodness I did because these two pulled at heart strings
Cooper has been the elusive Simon, the one that is always around, but always keeping to himself. Extremely private but always giving, he had been a bit of a mystery. He is kinda a slump when the story starts, hiding out in his Maine retreat while hanging around with his brother Maverick and his wife Charlie. They are a little concerned for him, and Charlie sets up for a housekeeper to ensure he doesn't sustain on beer and whiskey alone
Morgan has come back to town to look after her dad and his business. She has had a tragic path, and it is clear that the whole family is still reeling from the effects. She and Cooper do not hit it off at first, but it is the first time that Morgan has come out of her shell enough to feel. Even it is makes her mad, it makes he feel something.
This isn't insta-love or lust, but a low burn and discovery of a relationship. It is two people that can only come around to loving each other once they deal with their own self. That is when you get the water-works, as they battle what is inside them to live a full life again
I loved it, every second, every moment - it was more than worth the wait! The hook for the next series, much as this series hooked to the previous, was slight but still intriguing. Cooper was the absolute perfect Simon to close off this family's saga, as he brought everything to a tie, and opened that other window!
Cooper and Morgan took awhile to take to each other. No insta-love here but two hurting people with walls up.
I loved the little town in Maine. This is my first read of the series and although I was fine with this book as standalone I am curious how the other cousins and brothers stories hold up.

REVIEW: 4 stars--COOPER is the sixth and final installment in Juliana Stone’s contemporary, adult THE FAMILY SIMON romance series focusing on the Simon family of New England- a family reminiscent of the Kennedy clan with their money, power and political aspirations. This is writer Cooper Simon, and Morgan Campbell’s story line.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Cooper and Morgan) COOPER focuses on the building relationship between Cooper Simon- a writer and all around playboy, and Morgan Campbell- a young woman whose life and Olympic dreams were destroyed by an horrific accident that left our heroine scarred both inside and out. When Cooper’s sister in law Charlie hires a cleaning service to help around the house, Cooper struggles with his attraction to the woman who hides a multitude of secrets behind baggy clothes and an air of independence. Several off-hand comments by Cooper find our heroine walking away without a second glance only to be rehired to ‘catalogue and search’ the attic of the old home that Cooper now owns. What ensues is the building relationship between Cooper and Morgan, and the secrets both keep hidden from one another.
The relationship between Cooper and Morgan is one of immediate attraction but each has been burned by a relationship in the past. Morgan’s life spiraled out of control on an icy road that claimed someone close; Cooper’s self-imposed seclusion pits the writer against the man when his muse suddenly goes quiet. The $ex scenes are intimate and romantic.
There secondary and supporting characters include Cooper’s mother, as well as his brother Maverick and sister in law Charlie. We are also introduced to Morgan’s long-suffering father Ryan Campbell, a man who lost so much more the night Morgan’s life was destroyed.
The world building focuses on the Simon family dynamics: the close-knit family whose matriarch comes to visit with disheartening news, and the brothers whose life in the spotlight is not conducive to a normal life or a relationship kept hidden from the media limelight. Cooper and Morgan both have demons in the past, and it is these demons who continue to control their future.
COOPER is the final chapter in Juliana Stone’s THE FAMILY SIMON- a family with prestige, power, wealth, and political connections that make for some entertaining times. Cooper and Maverick’s story lines focus on the extended Simon family wherein their connections to the powerful elite make fair game for the paparazzi and media giants. The premise is emotional and heartbreaking as two people struggle with betrayal and loss; the characters are colorful and charismatic; the romance is a second chance for two people whose lives were diverted down differing paths only to find one another when they needed it the most.
This was my first glimpse into Stone's writing and suffice it to say, I was impressed. I saw very few errors (kudos to good editing) and the plot was developed as well as the characters.
Wow I loved Coopers story. We finally get to read about the things that made him the character he is but also what causes his change for the better, that would be meeting Morgan. Unfortunately Morgan has a set of issues that would be enough for one lifetime. Can they change each other’s perspective on their lives? Will their demons come out or finally be laid to rest? I loved this story, plot, characters, and the whole idea. Each character has a story all their own but Morgan and Coopers stories are written in pain and hurt, thankfully they also share, love, sweet moments, and some amazing sex. This story has lots of angst but reveals some great emotions. I’d highly recommend. This series has been great, I’m sad it’s finished.
Have read everyone of the Simon Family books, enjoyed them all, and this the 6th one had me completely captivated from page one. Cooper has wandered in and out of all the previous books and now finally he has one of his own. Beautifully written Cooper and Morgan are real life characters with all the fears, anxiety, love and hope that lies in all of us. Their individual stories are told with a warmth and conviction that had me holding my breath at times. To me this is 5 Stars all the way and whilst it is a stand alone do yourself a favor and read ALL the books in this series you will be glad you did!
Cooper is the man. Ms. Stone’s ability to create various storylines is commendable. Some with darkness so deep it makes you wonder on the background material. I loved Cooper - because of his pain he understood pain. He saw beyond the scars and saw beauty in every inch of Morgan gave me a beautiful fulfillment. Although Cooper didn’t come to this conclusion instantaneously and it was more of a curiosity the storyline worked. I thought Cooper’s story would have gone a different way but in the end I liked it. I was going to give this 4⭐️ but the element of loving someone beyond the perfection made me give the last star. Get the book it’s a nice read.
After reading the other Simon books, I couldn't wait to read about Cooper and I was not disappointed. Even though they came from different places, I could feel Morgan and Cooper's pain. I loved this book and was so thankful for a snow day where I could sit and finish it in a day-even though there vacuuming and clothes to be done.
Read all 6 books in this series. It was like reading one book., as the earlier family melded into the next story.. the 6 books were similar, yet the story line in each book was interesting enough to keep the reader interested. Worth the time spent.
WOW! I couldn't wait to read Cooper's story, from the little that I had been relieved in the series leading up his. I couldn't put the book down, and at the same time I didn't want it to end.Morgan's story made me cry, and she how they healed each other was perfect!
Oh my gosh, this did not disappoint. Cooper & Morgan were perfect characters both with their own pasts. Morgan’s character was a sweet & the pain she was carrying was very much felt. I loved how this story went. Would love more Simons family
I loved loved loved this book.It was sweet, tender, compelling, and very romantic. You can so feel what the characters were feeling and experiencing. It was a beautiful story.
I liked the story. You could feel Morgan’s pain from the start and when the details were revealed it was heartbreaking. She was a good character and suited Cooper well.
Cooper might be my favorite of all the Simons, but this was not my favorite book in the series. It came close - but the ending fell short for me...almost rushed in just trying to end the story.
I binged this series in like a week and was excited to get to Cooper's story.
I went into this book thinking Morgan was going to be someone different but I was pleasantly surprised that she was not the Morgan I was thinking of. This book, like the others, is quite angsty and has all the feels. I loved the relationship that Cooper and Morgan built and how it grew over the course of the book.
There were some things from the earlier books in this series that I thought would be resolved in Cooper's story that weren't but I still loved this series so much and am sad that it's over.
As always Juliana writes a captivating story. With two broken souls just living life to the bare minimum until they get thrown into each other's lives. It was full of angst, sweet, steamy and I couldn't not put it down. I absolutely love the whole series.
I was intrigued to read Cooper’s story from the beginning of the Family Simon series because while he appears to be emotionally unavailable nothing could be further from the truth and the eventual revelation of Cooper’s back story was well worth waiting for. Loner and recluse Morgan has both physical and psychological scars and her fragility of spirit and confidence was heartbreaking. I loved the emotional connection that slowly grew between her and Cooper because while people might only see his gorgeous smile and read about his sexual exploits there’s so much more to this bad boy. His growing infatuation with the woman whose pain he shares, the charisma of this fictional family, and the captivating storytelling of this author made this series unforgettable.
AMAZING READ! I love this book! I haven't love a book in a long time (months!!!!) I love everything about the 2 characters! It's new, it's unique, it's fresh!
2.5 stars, that could change after a more accurate reading. Infact I read very quickly, due to a half-day off of work. Cute, like almost all the books of this author. I would have expected more from Cooper that since the first book in the series has been portrayed as a ladies man. Of course he is, but only because a very very bad woman in his past broke his little heart (and to be sincere Holly is so sad a character, I really hope she will have her HEA). Then he meets Morgan, the heroine, who hides a tragic event in her past and a broken hart from a bastard ex-boyfriend and BOOM, they fall in love like almost immediately. As romance goes in the contemporary genre this book is not bad, far from it. It's just a little formulaic, perhaps, but not bad. However if the author did give Cooper a more wounded past and if "the big misunderstanding" between him and Morgan had been more credible it would have been a better book, imho. Let just say that my favorite character is a Bovaro del Bernese puppy...
Juliana Stone has taunted us from the beginning with Cooper Simon. She’s dangled the sexy, secretive, commitment-phobic playboy like a carrot, making us yearn to discover what makes him tick. In this story she finally shares the event, but not many details surrounding it. I wish more backstory had been given so I could completely understand Cooper’s fears and the reason for some of the questionable choices he’s made. Despite that, it’s clear he’s an honorable, caring man who loves deeply, and he quickly won me over.
Morgan Campbell has been through and lost so much in her young life. As the author intended, from the beginning I felt Morgan’s pain straight down to my bones, and I suffered right along with her. It’s heartbreaking. But she’s extraordinarily strong and never breaks. And that made me love her all the more.
Love heals many people in this book, but it all starts with Cooper and Morgan. Despite a rocky start, they finally open up to one another, get close, and passion soon overwhelms them. It’s an incredibly hot, beautiful thing to witness.
Juliana Stone has a remarkable ability to create vivid characters with incredible depth and emotions. They touch me like no others, as was the case with COOPER. It’s a box-of-tissue emotional, gripping, and sensual read that was well worth the wait. The only sadness comes in knowing the series has ended. If you haven’t read the series yet, do yourself a favor and start at the beginning with The Barker Triplets.
Read this in a couple of hours. Morgan had been hired by her friend, Charlotte "Charlie" Simon, to clean her brother-in-law, Cooper Simon's, house. Morgan, who was terribly scarred from an accident, had returned to her father's New England home to help him with his business. She and Cooper clash from the start She refuses to fall for his charm, something he isn't used to with women. For awhile he can't figure her out but then he gets a glimpse of her scars. He can't help being intrigued. But Morgan isn't the only one with secrets. Cooper has a ton of them himself. So what happens when they both find out?
Very good. Liked the way both characters were flawed but fell in love in spite of their circumstances. Another winner in the series.
I love Juliana Stone's writing! It always leaves me feeling as though I've lived through a relationship and come out on the other side stronger. She pulls you in, twists you up and then smooths you out by the ending!
Cooper's story is no different. He and Morgan get off to a rocky start. Their lives get twisted around. They finish with a bang that leaves the reader fulfilled.
If you haven't read the Stone Family series, start at the beginning and enjoy each one!
