It's 1890 in New Orleans, a time of rich white men, sprawling plantations, Voodoo, high class parties and the unspoken Placage. Amidst the thick heat, magic and sorrow, a beautiful Creole woman exists in this cruel world. Although born free, she never knew life without the call of a ‘Master’ – until now.

Blessed with an ancient power, Madame Lily has an agenda that has galvanized her into the deepest reaches of High Society and to the darkness that is swirling with Voodoo.

Elijah is a First Made Protector tasked to guard and cleanse the world of the evils that roam. He spent millennia with only goodness in his heart until cursed – one meant to corrupt his very soul with love, obsession and infatuation… for Madame Lily, a woman that should rightfully be his adversary.

Drawn together by fate and magic, these two forces face off and sparks fly. A love that never should have been is born – a love that may change everything for both of them.

Dormaine was born in Long Island, New York where she lived most of her life. As an adult she liked to travel out of the country though her favorite places to explore were her fantasy worlds as an author. She may be a nurse by profession but her heart has always belonged to writing. As a young child she spent many Saturdays in the library nurturing her love for books. There she discovered her fascination for the science fiction genre, through books, movies and graphic novels.

She now resides in Colorado with her husband and feisty dog. After many years of working in hospitals and travel nursing, she decided to pursue a career in writing. Her first novel The Keepers is in one of her favorite genres, young adult urban fantasy but the dark side, like paranormal is a close second. She's a Kindle Book award semi-finalist for The Time of Sanura from her Madame Lilly series. Presently, she is working on a paranormal mystery series of stand alone novels.

Perhaps one of the best things about the ML series is the fact that it is continuous. Author Dormaine G knows how to pack action and intrigue within the pages of her stories, even short stories. By the time I'm finished reading, I'm fully fed.
Lilly and her penchant for cruelty only intensifies that much more. Wow!
Keep them coming, Dormaine G!

I've been enjoying this series for some time now and book four did not disappoint. Dormaine G. did an amazing job with describing the complicated relationship between Elijah and Lily. Their passion is fierce but the reality of where they should stand in each other's lives is even more prominent. Lily continues to be a force to be reckoned with and I love that about her. A quick, yet moving read!

( I received this ebook by the author in exchange for an honest review)

I loved reading this story. Written fact, I love anything with New Orleans settings. This is also the perfect read to get you in the Halloween spirit as well. Although it was short there was so much happening within the story with Madame Lilly. I loved how it opened up with Madame Lilly standing over her cousin while he is sleeping and he awakes from the blood dripping on him from his dogs that she killed. It was gory, dark, and intense.

Now, I have always liked Elijah. I loved the Mystery of him and I did like him and Madame Lilly together. The spirits that are under her control were something wild. I don't want to give any spoilers away because the story is short and it will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat.

The writing was really good. I didn't feel like it was rushed even if it is a short story. For some reason while reading this I had in mind the "Originals" tv show mainly because it is set in New Orleans and there are things like voodoo and witches within the show. Also, it is one of my favorites. I loved the ending. It leaves you wanting more which I need right now lol. If you haven't read any of the stories of Madame Lilly and you like a New Orleans setting, voodoo, intensity, gory, and dark then this is just for you.

Madame Lilly is continuing her torture of Julius and Henry. But with the knowledge of who is her family, she is going to use that to her advantage. At the same time Elijah is having second thoughts about Lilly. Because of his involvement with Sanura he blames Lilly’s current situation on himself. He know that a curse had been placed on the family but he did nothing about it. If her would have acted sooner would he have been able to change the current situation?

I admit that I cannot get enough of this series. The books are short but filled with so much. You can’t help but cheer for Lilly with everything that has happened to her. I also loved learning more about Elijah.

I can’t wait to see what happens next with Madame Lilly. This series is very addicting.

Outstanding

I can't wait for the next book to be released. I'm from Louisiana and this takes me back to my roots. I wonder if Madam Lily ever visited my home town of Ville Platte Louisiana. Perhaps we will see in a book ahead...

Lilly & Elijah?

This boo takes us deeper into Madam Lilly's thought process and how powerful she really is. I love how the author shows her dark and light side and how both are battling for her soul.
