This wasn't the worst story I've ever read but it was lacking an awful lot. The story line was one I was drooling over, age-gap and a ‘boss’ situation, plus all that football muscle,
I mean yum! But it just didn't deliver any of the aspects I was looking forward too.

Jonas has just started at the Stratham stallions as the lead quarterback and is struggling with his newfound fame and the pressure that comes with it. He hasn't been winning the last few games of the season. Decker is his coach who is very attracted to Jonas and claims to feel something ‘much more’ for him.

Before I get into why I struggled with this, I want to reiterate this isn't the worst story. I didn't hate the characters and the sex was plentiful and hot in a rather standard way. So that's something…

I think the aspect I struggled with the most was Decker and Jonas’ relationship. Since this is supposedly a love story between those two, that pretty much encompasses the book as a whole. From the beginning of the story both Jonas and Decker expressed an attraction and ‘something a bit deeper’ for each other. They didn't tell each other this of course because there were no signs from the other person that they were interested or even gay. The problem is there is absolutely no connection or chemistry between these two! That could be largely to do with the fact they hardly spend any time in the book together. In fact Jonas has three sex scenes with different men and Decker has sex with an old friend, all on-page (they weren't in a relationship at this point).

While I seriously don't have a problem with sex with other people before the MCs are a couple, usually the couple is still the main focus of the story, but they were together (as in, in the same vicinity) for about 15-20% of the story. Obviously I felt more of connection between our MCs and the other men they had sex with, because at least they had the history of friendship or something.

Anyway so suddenly at the end of the book Decker says he's madly in love with Jonas…. They didn't even know if the other man was gay until literally that conversation! They've never had any sort of conversation or meeting that hasn't revolved around football and now they're confessing their undying love…. *sigh* it was just too soon and too forced.

There were also changes of POV and time jumps with no break or warning in between, which in the scheme of things isn't very important.

Look, if this was free or cheaper I'd suggest giving it a go because other people will no doubt feel differently than I do, but at $3 (USD) or $3.99 (AUD) .... I wouldn't pay that much to read it.

I can't believe this story. It had SO MUCH POTENTIAL. The premise was good, which then surprised me because the writing soon became ridiculous. Plus, there were too many mirror scenes which I didn't really appreciate. And the pace of it all was too weird, and too fast, even for a story this short.
Not to mention that the sex scenes were kind of lacking. They were pretty lame.

I'm... I'm really mad at this story right now. I don't even have the energy to write a properly, lengthy, salty review like I know I could.

One last thing: I was BEYOND DONE while reading the term "penis". NOPE. Also, whenever there was an "insertion" of sorts (dick, tongue), WHY THE HELL DO YOU FEEL THE NEED TO CALL IT "THING"? Name it. If there's a tongue or a dick up someone's ass, call it what it is. A tongue is a tongue, a dick is a dick. I'm pretty sure if you're writing this kind of story, you're familiar with the body parts involved in gay sex. Just name them. Don't call them "the thing". It's weird. It's not hot. It's not sexy. It's ridiculous.

Okay, I lied: NOW I'll write the last comment: Dear author, please consider a very heavy (and I mean HEAVY) editing work. This story had so many issues that if I were really up to the lengthy, salty review it so desperately deserves from me, I would have to spend about a whole weekend without any sleep solely for writing about said issues. PLEASE HAVE MERCY ON THE READER. Even if we know better than to take this stories seriously and we're just seeking them out for an hour or so of amusement. We still deserve more respect than this.

I was given a copy of this book free by the author in exchange for an unbiased review.

I know when a book is as short as this that it is difficult to get a good storyline going and to maintain it.
This story was marketed as a story between the Quarterback and his coach. However, for 84% of the book it was the coach with his old boyfriend and the Quarterback with 3 different men. It wasn't until the very end that the 2 MCs decided to give it a try.
Unfortunately for me this book bordered on PWP. There was lots of sex/ Even when the men got together at the end , there was lots of sex.
The book also suffered from some issues with characters being called the wrong name which didn't help.
A shame because it could have been so much more.

Trusted friend did not like this. And, frankly, I'm a little tired of the football themed books right now. They are everywhere!

I received this book from an Amazon Kindle promotion. As an homage to a new football season, I took a chance on this quick reading book by Turner Kane. The book Coach! centers around a professional quarterback, Jonus Jones, who is experiencing struggles with a new team, Statham City Stallions, in a larger town. The book covers various scenes led by the quarterback's struggles to navigate his way to a new team. The opening scene of the book introduces Jonus to a teammate that proves to be a not so good connection. Jonus travels home to clear his head and reconnects with a former friend. The story picks up with the story of the Stallions' head coach, Charlie Decker, as he tries to motivate his new quarterback. While Jonus must deal with questionable action outside of the gridiron, coach Decker must mold his quarterback to be leader the team needs. I enjoyed the story of this book and I look forward to reading more books by Mr. Kane.

I really enjoyed this one! Its a quick read for sure but so much better written than so many books of it's type. Think spellchecked and proper sentences for a change. There's an actual story to it too as pro-footballer Jonas and his Coach gradually fall for each other. The sex scenes are plentiful and raunchy, and the romance between the two main characters is well thought out and plays out enjoyably. I actually would've liked the book to go on longer, but I guess it's not aimed at that market - instead it's a quickie: fun and not meant to be taken too seriously. If that sounds like your thing give it a go!

This book is okay, but I probably would've liked it more if I went in knowing what to expect. This is labeled "sports romance" and "erotic romance", the sports is there, the erotic is there. But the romance is WAY lacking. Both MCs spend 90% of the book banging other people in Friends With Benefits situations and only like 10% thinking about/with each other. If I had known that, I wouldn't have spent most of the book waiting for the romance to kick in and I could've just enjoyed what I was given. Also, there's no real chemistry between the main characters. I actually enjoyed them with their friends more than with each other. I kind of wanted Decker to get serious with his friend. Jonas could've just stayed single. However, aside from that...the characters were great. I liked them all. I liked the friendships and how they were written. The sex scenes were good. I wish the taboo of coach/player had been addressed but I think getting that serious and real wouldn't fit in this book. I liked seeing a character struggle with fame and his job, it was refreshingly human. I wouldn't mind reading more from this author(Jonas' hometown friend and his boyfriend's story would be nice), if the book was actually what is says it is. Basically, read this if you want something quick and dirty, but don't expect more.

I received a free copy of this book from the author through the Don’t Buy My Love free for review program on the MM Romance Group on Goodreads in exchange for an honest review.

If you are looking for erotica and a story that involves football players, this one hits the mark. It’s definitely heavy on the steamy sex scenes. I was a bit confused at first though as far as the relationship went because it starts out with Jonas and another guy together with Jonas pining after his coach. But then the coach goes off and meets back up with an ex and is with him for much of the story. I kept wondering when Jonas and the coach were going to get together since I knew Jonas was supposed to end up with his coach. That doesn’t happen until later into the story. They both spend more time with other people than they do with each other. Which makes it harder to believe they are so in love with each other. They’ve been with other people the whole time and then suddenly they are together and in love. I would have liked to have seen the dynamic between coach and player explored more. That’s a bit taboo with the power issue. Coaches aren’t supposed to date their players. There are a lot of things that could have come from that but nothing was done with that. My biggest issue was the terminology. It’s a penis, a dick, or a cock, but never a “thing” or “the thing”. I’ve seen a lot of strange or off-putting words used to refer to male genitalia, but this is the first time I’ve seen it referred to as “the thing”. That was very unsexy and actually had me laughing a few times when I should have been thinking the scene was hot. The characters were likable. I just wish the story had focused on building the relationship between Jonas and his coach, Charlie, and what that all would have involved rather than them sleeping with other people. And I wish authors would just call male genitalia what it is, a penis, a cock, or a dick, and stay away from silly names and generic references. It’s just not sexy.

This is so hard to do but I did promise to be honest after all. I absolutely love this genre but this book failed to meet all of my expectations. First of all, the two MCs didn't interact with one another enough for me to believe that they fell in love in the end. Their journey to love just wasn't credible, at least not to me. There was also a lot of sex , that felt forced and didn't quite fit in with the story line.(I know it was erotica. I just hoped for more intimacy between the two MCs)
The characters were not well developed. I didn't feel anything for either of them even though Jonas had the potential to be a darling thanks to his troubles on the field of play. The struggle he was going through to be a better player was not showcased well enough for me.
So I am giving it 2 stars only because I think this story had so much potential and it's sad that it didn't live up to it's awesome blurb.

***Book provided for free by the author in exchange for an honest review via the MMRG Don't Buy My Love Program.****

Coach is the shortish story of Jonas, a new, quarterback for the losing Statham Stallions. He is enamored with his coach, Charlie Decker. I struggled with this story on many levels. This book read like a X rated movie in literary form. It was also much like a series of math problems "hook up" style. It read like this:

A+C= fast hookup.
B+D= old friend hookup
A+E= old friend hookup character A
A+C+F= quick hookup.

And after all this, we're supposed to believe that character A+B= true love eternal and Jonas in working with his true love becomes a successful quarterback.
Just a lot too unbelievable for this reader.

It’s a sports romance between a pro footballer and his coach as they gradually fall in love and have plenty of sex!!!! Not a lot of romance, but A LOT of sex’ friends-with-benefits sex!

Nice, quick, and dirty!
