There are hardly any worms in this first day at school tale! I expected some, but I didn't see any! There were caterpillars, which I can cope with, flies, bugs and more. They each have their own personality which made me smile as they went through typical school activities. I fell in love with the story on the first double page where there is a layout of the school with the roof taken off, showing everyone in their class. When I was a child I frequently built labyrinths using playing cards leaning against each other, then making up stories about who lived there (it was almost always an empty set of rooms). Seeing the school with the roof off reminded me of that!

I feel every aspect of school is covered including allergy notices, the mystery of why boys' toilets often smell, students getting marks for good and bad behaviour, the chaos of lunch time (love how only the flies can eat the poop pie, maths being done by the ladybirds, and play time where nearly everyone has fun on the playground. There is so much on each page that every time this book is read readers will spot something new. My personal favourite is the cute girl spider on the left of the cover with a single red bow-isn't she adorable? A great read for those who love bugs as well as those who don't, with humour that older readers will pick up on as well as younger ones.

I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review on my blog Nayu's Reading Corner http://nayusreadingcorner.blogspot.co...

So I found this book in my local library, my son will be going to school next year (2024) and I thought it would be good to introduce stories of going to school.

Being a nursery teacher before maternity leave im so surprised ive not come across this book before hand.

Its so brilliant! My son normally only sits down for touch and feel books, well Sam Lloyd has gripped my son with this beautiful tale of the bugs first day at school.

It grips him so much i have to read it 3-5 times every time he gets it out for me to read it! The longest time of him sitting down and really enjoyong the story.

He laughs and gets so excited.. so obviously ive taken it out and renewed to borrow this from our library so so many times!! Ill have to buy a copy on our next pay day as he is not a happy boy if we dont have this book to read daily!

Its just an amazing story! Thank you Sam Lloyd for this wonderful story!!

I gave this book to my godson because he started school this year, and of course I read it first.

It was a cute little story. My favourite part was all the appropriate lessons for each type of bug. Spiders learning about the dangers of plug holes, etc. And I loved the picture of the school with the roof off and all the things you could discover in the classrooms. Will children enjoy it? I hope so considering I bought it for one!

Lovely illustrations; plenty to look & laugh at, but the writing is poor. Some of the rhymes seem forced and it’s difficult to read out loud. I read it to my 5 year old, but she was unimpressed and lost interest in the story. We did enjoy looking at the pictures which provided more of a story than the actual text.

Picture book. Bugs. School.

A day in the life of a bug school day.

Colorful, lots of details, rhyming text.

Spiders, slugs, caterpillars, fleas, etc.

A good example of school for kids- teaches young ones what to expect and older kids can compare their own classes, and have fun imagining bug school, practice rhyming words and finding small details on every page.

This is the perfect book for children (and parents) experiencing anxiety about going to school. The impressively detailed illustrations got children engrossed in the book right from the very start and showed them just how much fun school can be.

Absolutely delightful and different imagination on how would it be if Bugs go to school. Find it very funny and nice for Kids.
