A Complete Summary of Lean In
‘Lean In’ is a book written by American author Sheryl Sandberg, which talks about subjects that most of us are familiar with in smaller or greater scale- woman rights.
What does woman rights ‘refer to’ in this book particularly? Well, first of all it is worth saying that this book is not some feminist book that solely talks about female rights and how women should be treated better than they are now (although the book deals with the similar issues). Besides just describing how the situation considering women status is and stating that things should be a lot better, Lean in also speaks about men. When talking about men, the author speaks of them in a way that they need to support women in every segment and aspect of life, so that the problem with equality is reduced the best way possible.
The so-called ‘core’ of this book is a ‘guidance’ to women, advices and tips on how to increase a woman’s prospect of obtaining a better position in her area of expertise. This stems from the author’s strong belief that if a woman wants to truly be equal to a man she needs to succeed in everything she does, especially in her career. Besides that, besides talking about women rising up in their careers, Lean in also speaks about one other segment, which is the most important for all men and women and that is happiness.
Written in manner to show ‘how a woman thinks’, Lean in is an interesting read and unique in its own way. It is not unique because it talks about women rights, but it is unique because of how it explains that women, just as men, have the same right for success and have the same right for reaching their own happiness and fulfillment.
