Connie Suttle lives in Oklahoma with her husband and three cats.
Connie holds an MFA in Fine Art (film production and animation) and taught courses at the university level before moving on to bookstore management. Nowadays, if she isn't writing or editing, she's dreaming up her next book.
This book is fantastic!! Connie Suttle has given us another book that blew my mind. This book takes you on a ride with Lexsi and her friend trying to find the metal library. But there is more going on with the High Demons that had me crying during some parts and swearing through other's. This is another great addition to my collection from Connie Shuttle!
I eagerly await each new release from Connie Suttle and, as always, she has not disappointed with this latest. I am most glad that my home country survived her attention although with floating monoliths it got a touch 2010: Odyssey Two there for a little while.
Have I mentioned how much I love Zaria? Well … I do.This bending of time and all of the work she has to do to make sure that what happens will still happen. This ending was so… epic. Sometimes dead doesn’t always mean dead in CS-land, but I hope those ones are since I never liked those two older high demons. The third high demon, his story just makes me sad…. I’m happy with most of everything that happened at the end of this series. I loved seeing how it was all woven together I guess all that time hopping leaves room for a bunch more stories to come.
Really like the first 2 books in this series but then it turned into around book 6 or 7 of Suttle's other series with these characters. Just too many people and too much back and forth to follow or enjoy.
There was a very good part to this book which i wont go into for fear of spoiling anything.
But by and large I do think Connie is starting to suffer from having too many main characters in her books (I think i've said this before) but in this we have lexsa, zaria with asides from anita, glinda, lissa etc. Its too much and whlist with say Lissa's books or Reah's i got to know them and feel their pain - I couldn't say i give too hoots about the new generation of characters because the connection that was given to us before isn't with these. I get that its the same universe but that doesnt mean we need to know that Lissa is doing her Lissa stick and so on. The point of view need a serious trim down. The fact that we are alternating between two "main" characters in the books released probably makes this worse.
Maybe i've just not go enough attention span/time to keep track but i also think the author is getting carried away.
That said i still like the story, still teared up at a certain point and read it without a break so its not all bad. Even so the first two series in my opinion are definitely a notch above any more recent offering
Great read! The title of this one is well-done, very appropriate. Some super sad, OMG, tearful moments mixed with uplifting and hopeful scenes and some funny dialogue. Some of the Larentii dialogue is the best! Certain people or groups of people get their comeuppance, and the Lexi-Kory mission is well-done, with great revelations and triumphs.
There were some topics/ moments that I felt were rushed, though. Perhaps they'll be fleshed out in future novels, but here those scenes were sudden and understated, esp at the end with Reah in her new role (trying so hard not to give spoilers!). I would have liked to see not only that new situation illustrated more, but also the new relationship for her. I also was hoping for more on Corinnelar/Zaria's new relationships, though this HAS to be the subject of another novel - that bombshell was just too massive to ignore. And finally, in the spirit of lost things being found again, I'm hoping for some more of Lissa's life in print.
This book is definitely a game changer in my opinion. So much happened and information given that I will have to reread it shortly. Normally when one of her books come out I pull an all nighter and soak it all in at once. This time life kept interrupting which irritated me because I didn't want to set this one down at all. I don't even know what to say except Oh My Gosh What Happens Next!!! This book was well worth the wait and all the cyber stalking I have been doing on Ms. Suttle's web page and Facebook to check on the progress of the book. Thank you Ms Suttle for the occasional snippets you post on Facebook, I have become something of an addict waiting for my next fix, knowing that I won't have to wait a year or more for the next book has me coming back and rereading your series over and over again. Love your stuff please don't ever stop writing!!! I seriously can't wait for the next one, this one was Unbelievable ❤️.
I keep reading Connie Suttle's books and I rate each one lower than the one before, mostly due to her whiplash inducing POV changes and her cast of thousands, whom you may or may not have met before, with the same or a different name, who may have died in a different incarnation with a dozen mates whose names you can not keep straight(or who's mated to whom). Yet I will probably still buy her next book because like a bad train wreck I just can't look away.
Another great Connie Suttle story. I have read and loved all of Connie's books, this one included. This looks like it has wrapped up the Latter Day Demons series and it is on to the next series BlackWing Pirates, due out at the end of October. I loved the story and feel Connie wrapped up the loose ends quite nicely. If you are a Connie fan you will not be disappointed.
It won't come as a surprise, to those who are fans of Connie Suttle, when I say that she has done it again. This book has left me almost speechless. I have some questions but I don't even know where to begin. It looks like I will have to set aside some time to start all of Connie's books from the beginning.
Each one of Connie's books are amazing and this one explains so many things but still leaves some things unanswered. There are so many characters and sometimes I have to sit and think about who they are then and now ;) I love the worlds Connie creates, she has such a talent of going in extreme details of each character. Can't wait for her next book!
I do not know how she does it or where it comes from but Connie has a wonderful mind. I texted her once I wanted to move into her mind to live!! If you have never read any of her books, my goodness what are you waiting for!!!
Too many characters with too complicated names. It took a lot of effort to keep everyone straight. Good story, did read all three but the above applies to all of them especially the last one
I was a little overwhelmed by the magnitude of storylines in this book 3 of the Latter Day Demons. I am a huge A Lissa fan so I really like the chapters she was in. Surprised at the fate of some longtime characters.
