Perhaps something was lost in translation, but a good read overall.

I with it was more detailed. Perhaps that’s the fault of translation.

The story of a teenager pulled into the Iran-Iraq war by communal soldiering. It is short, and could have used more details, although I suspect some of it was lost in translation. The Iranian teenager learns of the futility of war, as his unit is one of many on foot to repel an Iraqi tank attack. Written by Dehghan, a veteran of the war, and the battle. It is one of the best selling books of all time in Iran.
