Jonah was Cassie’s employer, a shifter biochemist and werewolf working on a virus that would make a werewolf into a supershifter. Jonah only asked for Cassie’s loyalty and to be vigilant about the kind of people she communicated with; it seemed a quirk, a paranoia she didn’t understand. But when Jonah is killed and her life threatened, Cassie is whisked away to an undisclosed location; everyone thinks she knows Jonah’s secrets, but does she? Connor, a werebear, is part of Squad Six, sent in to protect Cassie from werewolves, but his instant attraction towards her is undeniable; he has to protect her, no matter what. Cassie is furious with Connor, she wants an explanation, but his job was on a need to know basis and he didn’t need to know. For Cassie, that day was a day of firsts - getting shot at, rappelling from buildings and being intimate with a man she didn’t even know. Relocated to a secret hideaway, Cassie lives a quiet life with her son, Monroe – that is until the chase is on again and Cassie and Connor reunite. But their meeting isn’t fate - someone is manipulating them for a reason and Connor once again has to protect not only Cassie, his perfect mate, but his first born son too.

Review for: Bad Cat Baby Blues
Dutch is a patient man – he has to be it came with the territory of being a sniper. But being on a long stakeout his thoughts drifted and time was his worst enemy. This is a mission to clean out a group of drug dealers, but when Spade is involved, things were never straightforward. This is Ariadne’s her first solo mission for The Firm - to infiltrate the Silk Layers and find out who they were working for. She was sure drugs were not their primary activity; there was a secondary operation somewhere in the jungle. Her background gave her the experience to go undercover; to get the job done was something she lived for, but this time the plan wasn’t coming together; she had been left behind as collateral damage. Dutch was thinking of Ariadne, but he hadn’t seen her since the mission and that was the reason for his foul mood - he had searched for her to no avail. Meanwhile, Ariadne has not only kept his son hidden from him, but has told him he isn’t fit to be in his life. Dutch has made a promise to look after Carter, the son of a friend who saved his life, but he is missing. Spade draws Ariadne and Dutch together in an effort to locate both Carter, who Dutch finds out is also a Firm operative, and the Silk Layers who have turned up in Detroit and were working with the Arctics; whatever they were involved in they were going to great lengths to keep it a secret. Former or active agents, soldiers and special operatives were being snatched and experimented on and whatever they had created was coming for Squad Six and Ariadne’s team.
