“Welcome to Hell.”

Persephone Fields is just an average girl: beloved daughter and loyal friend. One night decides her Fate, when the prince of The Underworld becomes her savior and her kidnapper.

Hades has lived centuries in darkness and sin. When he decides to save the blonde goddess, he doesn’t consider the ramifications of his decision to bring her into his realm.

Two worlds divided struggle to find friendship in a history of family discord beyond their control. When attraction blurs the line, questions result in choices of love or loyalty.

A modern twist of the classic myth: Hades and Persephone, this version incorporates the sensual tension of opposites divided by contemporary humanity and mythical underworlds. Also reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet, this is a love story ripe with desire.

I can't do it anymore. I can't bring myself to finish it. What the hell is going on???? I'm so confused and absolutely nothing makes sense. One minute they're in a casino and the next they're on the beach?? The world building it horrendous and nothing flows together. There aren't any descriptions of anything or anyone so how am I suppose to know where the characters are at in the story? Things happen and there are no explanations for them.

Safety:
I can't even say this is a safe read because the H leaves the h for a few days and she thinks he may have been with another woman. So when he comes back she OF COURSE let's him go down on her and then it's completely forgotten why he even left in the first place!! And it's never brought up again. I'm just so confused! This book could have been amazing!...... but it wasn't...

Excuse me. Please hold while I make a futile attempt to get my wild emotions under control. Nope, no can do. They’re fluttering all over the place, like the fireflies late in the evening, the ones flying out of range. I can see them blinking, but I just can’t catch them.

Hades will go down as one of my favorite reads this year. I had to read it, as it deals with one of my favorite tales from mythology. I’ve always been fascinated by Persephone’s story, the ultimate love affair with a bad boy. I worried when I began that this wouldn’t do justice to my obsession, but those fears were wildly unfounded. It was everything I needed and more.

It took a classic tale and did not just give it a modern-day makeover. It made it wholly new without sacrificing the original in any way.

“I want to capture your laughter and hit repeat. I’m never going to have enough of you”

The love between Hades and Persephone is the ultimate in all the glorious tropes. Forbidden, destined to tragedy, and all the “good girl changing the bad boy” that you can handle. It was so much more though. It was the desperate hope against hope that these two can make it work, that such a pure emotion can make a difference even though the odds are so strongly stacked against them.

“I refused to think of him as only a summer love, an affair carefree of constraints because the end was inevitable. Plus, our love began in the decaying darkness of fall. Love was more than a season. It was timeless.”

This book was heartbreak. It was sexy slow burn, frustrating obstacles, romantic butterflies and feels. All the feels. It took me up, so high I could see for miles, then crashed me back down in a whoosh of “reality”. It was pain, and yes tears as I clung to every grain of hope it allowed me.

“I can’t say I was too late to love. He had loved me. I realized I was there too early, and only time would lead me back to him”

It wasn’t enough. Not nearly. Not from lack of story quality, but from lack of words. It ended. Yet did it? Love is forever, and ultimately, so are Hades and Persephone. They have so much left to give each other, and their world has so much left to offer readers. I can’t wait to see what this series has in store for me next. ~ George, 5 Stars

Hades is the debut novel by Author L. B. Dunbar, writing as Elda Lore. It is an upper YA/NA, scorching hot paranormal romance novel.

"Welcome to Hell."

We've all heard the saying that opposites attract. I'm not sure that two characters could be drastically more opposite than Hades, son of the ruler of Hell, and Persephone. Their worlds were never meant to collide in such a way as this, but fate was playing with their lives when circumstances out their control led them to each other.

"My mind muddled through the turmoil of being trapped where I didn't belong and sensing here was where I was destined to be."

I love novels based on Greek mythology, and have already devoured numerous novels by L. B. Dunbar. Journeying into the paranormal realm with her was an exciting and anticipated road. Both Persephone and Hades were quite remarkable characters. Persephone's inner turmoil and conflict was a large part of this story. It culminated in several bombshells that left me speechless and hurriedly turning page after page to read more. But, the character of Hades was just one that I couldn’t not fall for. As much as his roll in life dictated that I should dislike him, I found myself cheering for him and hoping that the universe would allow love to prevail.

"Let me love you. Let me learn what that means."

Not only did Author Elda Lore reveal her staying power in paranormal, she did so giving the sensual and sultry, and leaving me with a thirst for more. This was an excellent escape.

I am, yet again, conquered by a paranormal romance book. Each time I start a book outside of my preference, I cross my fingers that I will atleast like it. But Hades by Elda Lore absolutely caught me from page one. I freaking loved this one!

One moment, he was my savior; the next, I believed I was his prisoner.

Devils don’t do feelings. As the prince of the Underworld, Hades had no concrete idea why he cared if this beautiful goddess died or not. All he knew was that she roused more feelings in him in one minute than he ever had in his whole life combined. The witty combination of a beast and a charming prince in Hades’ character was something I really loved while reading this book. At his character’s introduction, I had expectations of him and he’s reached each pillar perfectly. Ruggedly handsome, effortlessly sweet, and a spice of devilish streaks. Sounds like the perfect temptation for me!

“I want to capture your laughter and hit repeat.”

Persephone lived a life in paradise. With her caring family and a set of crazy friends who brought her into adventures, she could not ask for more. But that changed quickly, and I mean quickly when all of a sudden, she was attacked, saved by the devil himself, and went straight into the underworld. I loved how Persephone wasn’t displayed as a damsel in distress. She was a feisty woman with a passionate soul and igniting her was a treat to read.

“Fate decides who comes into your life, your heart decides who stays.”

Anybody who’s had an interest in literature definitely loves Greek mythology. Elda Lore drove this story with a streak of modern interest but at the same time, preserving the historical essence of the original story. There’s something so addictive with the forbidden love plot and how this story was told was absolutely enthralling. Hades and Persephone’s chemistry was definitely akin to the flames of the Underworld. And yet the sweetness and the innocence of their love was a delicious contradiction as well. This book was passionate, captivating, and sinfully good. A great, more realistic twist at the end will have readers both sighing for satisfaction and clamoring for more.

"I didn't want to lose the elusive feelings stirring inside me, and while the right decision would have been to return her to her friends, I rarely did the right thing. The wrong resolution involved bringing her to the place where I knew the rules, and that's where we were. Hell. My father's domain. The empire of sin"

This is a interesting take on the Greek mythology story about Hades and Persephone. Except this is about Hades, their son. The curse to kidnap another, her name is Persephone too is hard to resist. But told in the 21 century intrigued me. I was pulled in from the get go and the characters had so much depth and vulnerability that you could help but fall just as they did.

It ended differently then what o had expected. Never go into a story expecting things. Always expect the unexpected.

I can't wait for more from this author!

Hades is a beautifully written fantasy romance based around a modern day retelling of Hades and Persephone.

Persephone Fields is a young college student who is rescued from being raped by Hades and taken to the Underworld— the only place where he knows how to protect her. Persephone struggles with her captivity and her growing romantic feelings towards Hades, but they inevitably end up forming a close bond.

The passion between these two characters emanated from the pages. The writing is flawless and you can feel deeply how in love Hades and Persephone are. This is a captivating read. Elda (aka. LB Dunbar) weaves Greek mythology, Shakespeare and the modern day into an effortless romantic tale. Once again, I give this book 5 stars.

A debut novel from LB Dunbar’s alter ego, sign me up please!! As a fan of LB Dunbar’s work, I’ve always appreciated the way that she’s taken classic novels and given them a modern twist. Using a new pen name, LB Dunbar has chosen to dive in to the paranormal/fantasy world.

When I first picked up Hades: Modern Descendants, I wasn’t too sure what to expect. I knew I was getting a modern retelling of Hades and Persephone’s story, but I have to say, I was really intrigued to see how she was going to pull this story off. I was sucked into the story from the very beginning and my eyes were just glued to the pages. I couldn’t get enough of it. I wanted to see where this author was going to take this story.

There’s a lot I want to say about this story, but I just can’t. I don’t want to spoil it or run anything for you. What I can say, is going to in this story with an open mind. If you think you’ve heard the story of Hades and Persephone before, I promise you have’t heard their story told like this. As someone who enjoys Greek Mythology, I always am curious to read different authors takes on the myths that we all know so well. And I have to say, that I really enjoyed this one. Hades and Persephone captured my heart and made me fall in love with these star-crossed characters.

I am so excited for this new venture for this author and look forward to seeing which classic will get a contemporary twist next!

I absolutely love everything I have read by this author's alter ego. I love her writing style, how she takes a classic story and makes it modern. Taking on a Mythological story and making her first attempt at fantasy, I was excited!!!
I was not overly familiar with this particular story but a quick Google search solved that. I was fascinated by the details in the Underworld I could picture it clearly, I was in it, I was there!
It was a bit slow at first and took me some time to get into but once it grabbed me I was in!! Hooked!! Our hero is very romantic making the sexy times so much more sexy!!
I felt so sad sometimes. It was a beautiful heartbreaking story of a somewhat forbidden love. I know they had to make the decisions they did. What happened had to happen. In the end my heart was in good place even after being broken.
A great first attempt at fantasy and was happy to see there will be more in the series!

description

I’ve already admired L.B Dunbar’s ability to take a tale as old as time and put a new spin on it, one modernized for the times we’re living in now. It’s what keeps me coming back for more with her, along with the style at which she writes.

So when the opportunity came up to experience her in yet another light, one rich with fantasy, but with the same kind of elements that got me hooked into her stories to begin with, I didn’t hesitate.

Under the name Elda Lore, she brings to life a modern retelling of classic Greek Mythology. Something that in my younger years, with my penchant for wanting to read anything and everything, captivated me then and through this story now, has done it again.

It was magical in the way the story of Hades and Persephone was brought to light, while at the same time holding onto the more emotional and sensual driven elements that make this authors work, no matter what name it is written under, so incredibly great. I ran the emotional gamut while reading, highs and lows, love and hate. I felt it all. The story…these characters, and even the author herself, delivered one hell of a story.

I will admit that at the start it took a little getting used to, what with me having deviated away in recent years from this type of read, but once I was able to put myself in this world, with these characters, there was no going back. I was all in. And I think that any fan of mythology, especially modernized retellings, or fans of the authors previous works will feel the same if they take the chance on it.

It’s my hope though that this won’t be a one off and we’ll be seeing more from this author, with this style of writing in the future. I’m looking forward to being swept away again.

My thanks to the author and all others involved in letting me read this before official release. This was a journey I’m so honored to have taken and I can’t wait to do it again in the future.

5+ epic stars

After two emotionally draining reads in the past few days I figured I'll pick up a paranormal book from Elda Lore (aka LB Dunbar) to lift my mood. I never expected it to make me cry more than the two previous books together. Did I love Hades? Hell yes!!! I loved the aspect of Greek mythology in this story as well as the reference to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. What totally stood out for me in this book were the main characters Hades and Persephone as well as LB Dunbar's excellent writing skills that made me feel so much!

There are not enough words in this world to describe my adoration for Hades. He was supposed to be the bad guy, the cold prince of the underworld without a heart, but he was nothing like that! The more time he spent with Persephone, the more he understood humans and started to act and feel like them.

"She gave me life, when I could only give her death and darkness. Her potential death frightened me, but I also feared the life she sparked inside me. Feelings, emotions, sentiments unknown."

Because of his Firefly (his nickname for Persephone), Hades will learn a lot of things but the most important one of them will be how true love feels like.

"Let me love you. Let me learn what that means."

Every second these two spent together was pure magic. I was anxiously turning the pages to know how the story will continue, wishing it would never end.

To be honest, I loved everything about this forbidden love story except the end that left me heartbroken. I still feel like some questions are unanswered but hope that the author will answer them in the following books. I'm not spoiling any more details for you. I still highly encourage you to read this story and experience it on your own. Despite all my tears I'm so glad that I read it and can't wait for the next books in the Modern Descendants series!

I loved this book! This is my first time reading this author and it won't be my last. My feelings were kind of all over the place while I read this! I loved Hades! I loved Persephone too, but not quite as instantly as I did Hades. I kind of expected Hades to be a bit more aggressive than he was, more alpha maybe. Of course he did show that side when it came to another male showing interest in Persephone. Persephone grated on my nerves at times, but I think maybe that's how she's meant to be perceived. I did like their little Romeo and Juliet quips, I thought those were cute and romantic, but also odd at times, if that makes any sense.

My emotions were all messed up though, because you have these two very different people. One plucked from the light and one from the dark, that so desperately want to be together, but it's practically impossible without one giving up a huge piece of their life. I honestly had no idea how this was going to turn out, but the way it ended makes me hope that their story continues in another book eventually. I was a little saddened by the ending, but then it just shows you how much Hades cares for his Firefly. I'm pretty excited to read about Solis and Veva. That should be a fun one to read, lots of fire in that one I'm thinking! Awesome start to the series and looking forward to reading more from this author!

Five Amazing Stars! This is an amazing take on the Greek mythology story about Hades and Persephone. Except in this story it is about Hades the king of the underworld son also named Hades and Persephone. Persephone is kidnapped by Hades and taken to the underworld. They form a beautiful bond and Hades falls in love which is a feeling he thought he would never experience. Hades then has to chose between life and death for Persephone. It was truley a heartbreaking decision to make, I felt for him. I was in tears as he was trying to make that decision. I loved had the author changed the story. I was hooked from the first chapter and could not put the book down. The author wrote a well written story with amazing characters. This is the first book in the Modern Descendents Series and I can't wait to see where we go next! Highly Recommend it!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. This book was read and reviewed by Annamaria for Alpha Book Club.

A creative and unique look at the legend of Hades and Persephone. The story is told in modern times in very realistic terms.

Persephone is open, lighthearted, and a delight to know. Her life force is such that even in the dark of night she glows. As she shines, a lonely figure looks on and is mesmerized with her ~ Hades.

This is a love story of two beings from different worlds. They cannot live outside their own world, but the attraction is so strong, they are willing to risk their lives to fulfill their love.

It was refreshing to read this story. I am a mythology buff and always loved this story of dark and light wanting to exist together. This book is highly entertaining as well as emotional.

This was a well written story of Hades and Persephone written via the voice of the alter ego of contemporary writer L B Dunbar.

As a lover of paranormal stories I am always on the look out for something different and this was different. It really captured the love story of Hades and Persephone with lots of interjection from the story of Romeo and Juliet.

I really enjoyed this fantastical romance and look forward to the next mythical tale of Zeus an Hera.

A modern take on Hades and Persephone mythology. Elda Lore painted a very pretty picture making this timeless tale modern while preserving the essence of the myth. I'm looking forward to the next story, which is about Solis, Hades' cousin. I hope to catch more of Hades and Persephone in the next book.

When I heard that LB Dunbar was writing under the name Elda Lore and has a new book coming out called Hades. Which is a take on the popular Hades and Persephone's twisted love story. I was so intrigued. I love reading Greek Mythology, and when this book landed on my kindle, I could not put it down.

A compelling complex forbidden love story of the ages but with a twist!

It follows the story of Hades son.
Will he follow the same path his father had done?
Or will he descend into darkness?

I was hooked, line and sinker in this story. The connection between Hades and Persephone was so fascinating. The young man has a choice to make, let the love of his life live or die. A very hard decision indeed, but what was to come for Hades made my heart burn in agony.

I loved Hades by Elda Lore. I'm hoping no begging for a sequel! I could not get enough of the characters. Sad that it had to end.

Looking for something different and out of this world? You’ve got to read this one from Elda Lore! It’s a twist on the classic myth of Hades and Persephone!

Persephone is a normal girl enjoying a midnight swim with her two closest friends when she feels someone watching her from across the lake. She isn’t sure if it’s her mind playing tricks on her because her mother has always warned her about the danger of the woods across the lake. She soon realizes it’s not just in her mind when she sees a figure come out from the edge of the woods. Instead of being frightened, she’s drawn to him. As she gets out of the water to join her friends, he disappears. Again, she wonders if what she saw was real, but she will learn soon enough it isn’t fantasy and exactly who he is, and her life will never be the same.

I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed this book! I loved the characters. Persephone is the epitome of innocence, but she’s tough. She managed to survive and stay in a dark, desolate place filled with sadness and despair, and she saw past the darkness in Hades and saw “him.” Who wouldn’t fall in love with Hades? Yes, I know exactly who he is, but he’s more. He’s dark and dangerous, yet there is something that drew me to him. His love for Persephone just melted my heart….you, yourself…will witness exactly how very much he does love her.

The setting and Lore’s writing were so descriptive in details that I was there with Persephone. I felt everything and saw clearly everything she did. It was truly a magical and sometimes very scary place. I love reading a book that completely captivates me and draws me in, and Hades did exactly that. There is so much more I could write about, but I don’t want to ruin a thing for readers. It’s too good to do that!

Elda Lore is actually a pen name of contemporary romance writer, LB Dunbar. This is her first time writing paranormal/fantasy, and she has done a fantastic job! If you have read some of her other works, The Legendary Rock Star Series and Her Paradise stories, you already know how she takes a classic and makes it her own, and she has done the same with this one. I will never look at the love story of Hades and Persephone in the same way. She has taken it and again made it her own! This isn’t just a romance sprinkled with fantasy and paranormal elements, it’s much deeper. It’s magical! Her worlds and her characters come to life and really leap off the pages! I’m so glad she decided to write this series, and I can’t wait to read the next one in the series! I have a feeling this isn’t the end of the road for Hades and Persephone. LOVED it!!!!

Elda Lore is the new pen name/alter ego for L.B. Dunbar, and I have to tell you that her first fantasy novel is good. I love her contemporary romance books, but she has a new follower for her future fantasy novels. I can't wait for book 2 to come out. Fantasy, Greek mythology, and romance are thrown together and what you receive is an interesting story line and characters that jump off the pages. If I had any issue with the book, it was the ending. It just ended and I feel like it is missing something. However, we may get more as the other stories unfold and we are drawn further into Elda Lore's new world.

Hades, prince of the underworld rescues Persephone one dark autumn night, and instead of taking her back to her friends or family, he takes her to the underworld to be with him. But now that he has her there, she isn't supposed to be allowed back. Or is she? When he took her there, he didn't think. He only acted. Living in darkness all his life, she became a light he had to have.

Persephone is an average girl who loves her family and friends, but what is she supposed to do now that Hades has brought her to the underworld and is telling her she can't go back. There is something about this man/god that she can't ignore. Will they find a way to make it work? Can she love him? Can he love her when he doesn't really understand that emotion?

The story is well plotted and I loved the retelling of the Greek story of Hades and Persephone in a new and modern way. My biggest issue was the ending, but like I said, this is only book one in the series and I have a feeling this will not be the last we see of Persephone and Hades...at least I hope not. Please tell me more is coming because it cannot end like that! 4 stars and I recommend this to everyone who likes mythology and fantasy.

Hades by Elda Lora
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
I was super excited to give this new paranormal a try. I am a paranormal lover and so the thought of a new word to fall in love with made my heart happy. I will say that any mythology lovers will also be excited and should give this a try because it is right up their ally as well.
I loved the fresh new take on this mythological story. Persephone and Hades. We all know their story but now we are getting the next generation of the curse. Hades Jr and the new version of Persephone. They have an undeniable attraction and their love story is amazing. I giggled a time or two at the jealousy that each felt …him to Tripper asking her to come with him and her with the scent of the skank from the club on his skin….but we can see their want and love showing.
I felt like this book is really 2 stories…them falling in love and against the odds in Hell and then story 2 is them finding each other again on Earth. Can I say how much I LOVED Hades and his heart. He wants the best for Persephone even if it is not with him and that my friends is why he is the top of my book boyfriends list. His never ending desire to please her even if it made him miserable.
There were so many scenes that stole my heart and so many times I had a tear in the corner of my eye. Give this book a try if you are not a fan of paranormal because it is truly a great read.

Oh my, how do I feel, I honestly don't know! That's how I felt when I finished this book, I had to go back and read the epilogue a few times to resolve the feelings I had. I have to admit I like it when I need to read epilogue again, it's like I'm not ready to leave book yet.

I found the underworld set up intriguing, it is basically parallel to our world, separated by glass - but once you enter there's no way out.

Hades and Persephone, this is not based on the original couple, this is Hades Junior and his different from his dad. Hades doesn't exactly look human, he has a blue tint, he doesn't feel like a human either until her.

Persephone is your average woman having fun in the sun and playing in the river, when things take another turn and her world is changed forever.

The story is told from both characthers point of view and that's good as I really like dual pov. Hades comes across as a nice bloke and tries to protect Persephone from his world. Persephone, initially struggles to being in the underworld, and revolts against Hades even when he is trying to be good to her. They eventually build a friendship and that leads to deeper feelings and then choices have to be made and oh my did it pull on my heart strings.

There was talk of Persephone being a Demi-god, and all the families being connected, which was interesting and I felt maybe that could have been expanded slightly - I'm left wondering will Persephone age normally?

I really enjoyed this book and will be picking up others in this series.

My final thought is some people are made to be together........

Let me start off with saying that I have never read anything by L.B. Dunbar *gasp* I know! But when the sign up came out to do a blog tour for Hades written by L.B. as Elda Lore I jumped on that fast. Greek and Roman mythology was always one of my favorite subjects in school. I just loved all of the different stories and really just everything to do with the gods and goddesses so when this book was brought to my attention I didn't even care what it was about! Sign me up!! Well I am so glad I did you guys!! This book is simply amazing! It always kept me on the edge and I was so conflicted about who I should be rooting for! The characters where amazing and Elda did an amazing job of taking an old Greek myth and giving it new life. I stayed in bed until about 11AM to read this whole book! That's right people, I woke up at like 6AM (I usually have to get up early for work- yuck) and decided to read instead of sleep more. I maybe neglected my kids but it was only for a short part of the day and they were not only fed but they got showers so I regret nothing #parentingwin! I seriously spent the rest of the day thinking about the book. Even just writing this review I want to read it again right now! I loved the whole thing! ALL OF IT!!! I cannot wait for the next book!

My Recommendation:
This book is FIVE STARS!! I loved it! It was perfect in every way and I think you all need to experience the amazingness. Go buy it!! All of the buy links and info can be found at Blog Tour for Hades by Elda Lore (aka L.B. Dunbar!!) :) I can't even begin to tell you guys how much I want you to all buy this and bask in the awesomness that is the sexy devilish Hades

So anyone that knows me knows I'm a huge fan of Greek Mythology and the story of Hades and Persephone is my favorite one. Like to the point I almost named my daughter after it, but I realized in this age that would just be really mean to her lol.
So anytime I come across a retelling of it I get so excited (did anyone else hear The Pointer Sisters just then?). There have been some really good ones and some horrible ones that I suffered through.
However when I started seeing the promos for this one I knew it would be great. Having read books by L.B. Dunbar I knew what a great story teller she could be.
Honestly I was so anxious to read this that when given the chance at an eArc I managed to sign up through 2 different tours. I don't even know how that happened but it does explain why it was sent to my kindle twice lol.
I loved the take on this. Hades isn't exactly who I expected. And how they get together was a surprise too. Their story was just so complicated and sweet and I found myself really rooting for them. With the twist Hades manages I really had high hopes.
With this being in the modern world of course there is change. Plus how many people would enjoy it if it has been written like the original? That is a pretty messed up tale. Never could figure out why it's my favorite honestly.
However if you're hoping for a hea this isn't it. Although it is a series with the next book focusing on Hades cousin so there's hope yet.

I was given an eArc in exchange for a honest review. Thank you

Hades
By: Elda Lore (LB Dunbar writing as)

5 star review by Kristie K.

The story of Hades and Persephone is one of greek mythology and legend…but thanks to the glorious mind of LB Dunbar as her alter ego Elda Lore, this classic has been re-imagined in a story as memorable as the original, with modern twists that elevate it to EPIC proportions. This book captivated me in a way that not many books can claim, and has haunted me long after I finished the epilogue. As with the original story of Hades and Persephone, this one weaves a web of love, hate, lies, truth, secrets and deceit. The emotional roller coaster that ensues will make you smile, gasp, laugh, sigh, growl, pant, and cry. Ms. Dunbar is masterful at creating a world you both love and hate, desire and fear…inciting both hope and heartbreak within the same breath. Hades pulled me under to the point of suffocation, before letting me breach the surface and breathe again…then did it all over again. The plot and storyline flowed effortlessly, the pace perfect, and the outcome leaving you just desperate enough to guarantee you will be waiting for the next book. An unlikely hero, Hades conflicts with every image you have ever had of the stereotypical hero and savior…but that makes him all the more intriguing, magnetic, and desirable. Persephone is everything you want in a heroine, beauty, brains, strength, and heart. A story worthy of the legend it follows, Ms. Lore (Dunbar) has captured my imagination, my mind, and my heart. A new fan is born…

First off, I have to say that I love Greek Mythology. And I love Romeo and Juliet. This story is a mixture of both.

Hades and Persephone can't be more different. Hades is the son of well, Hades. Persephone is human. As human as she can be with the secrets her family keeps.

There is so much that can be explored in this world and I cannot wait to see where the author takes the storyline.

There were a few places that could have been explored deeper, but I hope that in the other books in the series will help put things in perspective.

Hades is my new favorite. I love him. He was brought up to do and be one thing, but he's so good. And he loves so much.

Persephone is alone and afraid in a world that she doesn't understand.

I did not expect to feel the emotions. I was so upset when it came down to the climax because I was against the choices that were forced to be made.

I can only hope that there will be more Hades and Persephone, either they get a part two or their storyline will continue in between the other storylines coming. Hades and Persephone deserve so much more. My heart needs more.

I loved the infusion of Shakespeare's poems and lines from Romeo and Juliet. It made the emotion so much more special. The relationship between Hades and Persephone was beautiful.

I can't wait to see where this world goes in the other books.

If someone was to ask me to choose one book from this year to be made into a movie, it would without a doubt be Hades!

Now I'm a sucker for paranormal as it is, but in my opinion this book was absolutely brilliant on so many different levels.

The world created by Elda Lore is one that I have found myself dreaming about since the moment I started. I was literally sucked into this book and unable to put it down for fear of being unable to handle the unknown. I've got to admit that I have since kicked myself repeatedly for finishing it so quickly as it has literally left me with a massive book hangover.

Going in I had a tiny idea of what to expect from the synopsis based off of the mention of similarities between ancient myth and Romeo and Juliet. With that in mind I was in some ways prepared for the ending, however if the Author was to announce tomorrow that she was going to continue on with this story, I would be all over that as I am literally desperate for more.

If you're a paranormal lover, I can't recommend this one enough. It's like combining all of your favorite aspects from books like The Mortal Instruments, The Vampire Diaries and The House of Knight. If you love those kind of reads that are fast paced, keep you on your toes, and leave your heart weeping for more, then you will love Hades just as fiercely as I did.

This is a sexy retelling of the Greek Mythology story between Hades and Persephone. This was told with a twist as their children suffer through the same curse their parents endured centuries before, with a little Shakespeare thrown in for good measure. I really enjoyed this retelling, which followed a more elaborate storyline and embellished on the good times between Hades and Persephone. There is a twist at the end, which makes Hades much more human than his father could have ever been with his wife Persephone. Hades decision was pure heartbreak, but that was what made him so much more human and selfless. And you say children never learn from their parents mistakes! Oh, and I loved that his pet name for Persephone was Firefly! Since I didn't study Greek Mythology, except to know main characters and some basic storylines, this was a nice introduction into one of the great stories in mythology and a wonderful PNR/Fantasy storyline as well. I hope there will be more told with Hades & Persephone in her continued book series. I also can't wait for the other books in the series to come out so I can learn more about the great Greek Myths. I received an ARC from the Arthur for an honest review.

The great Elda Lore is L.B. Dunbar's alter ego. And what a great author she is. I didn't expect anything else coming from such an amazing writer. Her books have a way of sucking you in and never letting go. You think about them for a while after you finish. Hades written by the amazing Elda Lore was no different.
In this book Elda Lore gives the Greek Mythology and Legend of Hades and Persephone a modern twist. Hades is a man of many contradictions, i grew to love him. Now Persephone i loved from the beginning, she is everything i want my leading lady to be. This book has all the best things that send you on an emotional Rollercoaster that you never want to get off of. It has love, hate, lies, deceit, secrets and the truth. It will make you smile, laugh, get angry, be happy, and wonder. From the start i was ready to dive right in. I absolutely love Greek Mythology and legends. I have studied quite a few of them, these two being some of them.
Even if i didn't know that Elda Lore is L.B. Dunbar, i would have still picked up this book. Not only because of the cover but because the synopsis is something i read. But knowing that she is L.B. only solidified that this book was a must read. I look forward to ready more by Elda Lore.

Hades by Elda Lore ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hades is a vividly written paranormal romance as well as a modern take on the myth of Hades and Persephone. I loved the way the author took a well-known myth and gave it some twists to be uniquely her own!

Persephone Fields is just a typical, normal girl. Hades is the prince of The Underworld and son of Hades Senior. Much like Romeo and Juliet, they become ill-fated lovers. They seem doomed to repeat the history of the original Hades and Persephone. Will the curse continue, or will they write their own story? Overall, I liked both Persephone and Hades. Their characters were well developed and the scenes between them were very well written and hot.

The plot was emotional and riveting. The author described the characters and underworld so well that I could see them as I read. I read straight through because I just couldn't put it down. I had to know if there could be a happily ever after for Hades and Persephone and to see what Hades would choose.

This was my first book by Elda Lore, but it won't be my last. I fell in love with her writing and will be looking for the book about Solis, the sun god. I can't wait!

I have been left breathless by Hades.

This book does a wonderful job of linking well known myth with modern fiction. I don't have a vast knowledge of Greek mythology (unless reading Percy Jackson to my kid counts), but seriously, you don't need it. In fact, I would be as bold as to say you could have hated studying it and you'll still love Hades from Elda Lore.

The very beginning of the story is quite fast, but the author slows it down to build the characters. The pace was great, fast bits mixed with slow so you can come to know the characters without becoming bored. Unlike some other mythology attempts by other authors, I was able to lose myself within the story instead of feeling like I was in a high school lecture.

Hades himself is a lovely creature. He becomes so much more than what was expected of him through his relationship with Persephone. The two of them were just, sigh, swoony. I was captivated by them and their trials.

The ending is absolute perfection. Sometimes, you just need a book to end that way.
