This is a must read YA horror series, because the writing was remarkable! It will keep you intrigued, interested, and scared from the beginning (Dark Winter: The Wicca Circle-the 1st book, Dark Winter: Crescent Moon-the 2nd book) 'til the end (Dark Winter: Last Rites-the last book).

The stories from all the individual characters are truly amazing, because John Hennessy knows his characters well. These books are also full of thrilling action, adventure, and of course some gruesome moments. Well, I guess, that is just how a great writer is! Always taking his horror stories to the extreme, which is why this author is definitely my favorite author of this genre!

So, if you're looking for a horror/paranormal books..Then, this trilogy should be on your TBR list!^^

As a fan of John Hennessy's books I am excited to have the complete trilogy in my possession. He creates great suspense with imaginative plot lines in all his novels; they are a bit scary at times but so entertaining. Love to read them all over again.
Dark winter -The Wicca Circle introduced me to this talented author and I have been a fan ever since. Although I am a Historical Romance novelist I was drawn in to this genre, because of his creative and captivating style.
Dark winter - Crescent Moon and In Dark Winter - The Last Rites Complete the trilogy, if you never read John Hennessy novels you are in for a great treat. You will love his characters as they guide you through a thrilling ride of suspense and raw emotions.
I highly recommend the trilogy to anyone who enjoys reading exciting and imaginative novels.

I am thrilled that John Hennessy has brought out this new Trilogy. Each book on their own are worth reading but to have all three in one place is great. I am a fan of Hennessy's work and I have been since I read his Murderous Little Darlings.

Dark Winter - The Wicca Circle has all the right ingredients to make this a super paranormal horror read. I would gladly have a witch, a Christian girl, and an atheist as a friend, but you can keep the mirror!. When you get into the story you will be astonished at the depth of suspense that the author has created. It doesn't hit you all of a sudden, it creeps up on you as you read. Before you know it, you are looking over your shoulder.

The story in Dark Winter: Crescent Moon is spines chilling from the very few pages and we see Curie, from book 1, up to his old tricks. Although he is not a nice guy you can’t help but like him in some way. The characters are all older by a few years and Hennessy has the character growth spot on. We are told what they have been doing since the last book. We get to know them a little more. I have some characters that I found endearing, some annoying and some you love to hate. This wouldn’t be possible but for the fact of great storytelling and writing. It is a spine chilling story but also incorporates a vast array of emotions and you are compelled to read to the end and move on to the last book.

In Dark Winter: The Last Rites the story concludes in the best possible way, totally different from what I had imagined. Again, the author reels you in from the beginning and keeps you there. I read on with a heavy heart because I knew it was the last. It didn't stop me from reading or wrong guessing the outcome. Hennessey is a fabulous storyteller AND writer, yet, again, he leaves you with questions that only you as the reader can answer. Hennessy writes for the whole spectrum of readers and they take away their own thoughts from his work. This is exactly what he has done in the last of the Dark Winter series.

Fear is real and it is in form of a John Hennessy Book

I was introduced to the series by none other than the author himself and what a tremendous introduction. So much that i am almost like a crazy stalker of the author now. The kind you would see searching the trash bins ...yeah that kind of crazy stalker.

If you love horror fiction then look no further but pick a John Hennessy and you will quiver with fear and still wouldn't stop reading his books. That's the kind of writer John is. Dark winter is one of the first books that I had read from John Hennessy’s works and needless to say that ever since picking up dark winter #1 I haven't left any book written by John. Each book had been far superior and impressive than the previous and keeping you hooked to his writings.

Horror is what John does best and the proof is seen in works especially the dark winter trilogy. The entire series follows impressive journey of its central characters and a plot that is weaved brilliantly and in a very addictive fashion. The greatest strength of the series is its strong array of characters and is none that you will see so easily in any books. John has a very unique way of making his books all about the strength and weakness of his characters and that is one of the things that lure you towards the book

Each book in the series, from the very get go grabs you by the throat and keeps you jolting with the things that is happening in the story. Along with its wholesome plot, each character of these books is strong, interesting and perfect match. The author has maintained them very real and not larger than life personas. I felt, making them show their weaker sides helps readers to understand and relate to them easily and effectively .It’s one of those series whose plot itself uplifts the whole book, rather than having to spice it up with anything else. Dark Winter is a good spine chiller with a very spooky plot as its base and the book grows on you, keeping you intrigued.

The first one started off a bit shakey with some confusing areas which took time to determine who was speaking and some abundance or errors that somewhat got in the way of enjoyment but the next two installments in this trilogy were much improved. The story line and characters through the whole trilogy were well-developed and had depth to them. It was a dark and dismal ride with a light and happy ending and what a trip to get there.

This is an utterly brill and fantabulous YA series. Scary and unsettling in parts, but what a ride. I left full reviews on the individual books, but in two words - buy it!

Reading Dark Winter was difficult to me because...I usually read at night and John Hennessy's stories scared me so I began to hear strange noises in my own home. LOL

Dark Winter is very good horror tale, somewhat in a Stephen King style and John Hennessy writing has grown from book 1 to 3 and it merits a round of applause!

In this complete edition, fans of award- winning author John Hennessy can follow protagonists Romilly, Beth, and Jacinta in a spine-chilling story, which lingers in your mind long after you have read it.
This book is a three- part series, which contains: The Wicca Circle, Crescent Moon, and Last Rites, which I have read, enjoyed, and reviewed.
The stories are spooky, suspense-filled, and full of twists and surprises.
Author John Hennessy has produced a great story centered on an age-old evil.
The first story, Dark Winter: The Wicca Circle was more than just an introduction to this paranormal fantasy series. It was full of intrigue and I looked forward to reading the other two in the series which I had bought upfront.
The second story - Dark Winter: Crescent Moon is a continuation of the gripping tale of demons, ghosts, witchcraft, dangers, and near death experiences encountered by three fearless teenagers in trying to defeat those evils.
In the amazing and surprising conclusion to the story, Dark Winter: Last Rites, some very interesting revelations are made, and provocative questions answered.
I recommend it to all who love young adult horror with a happy ending.
This is one of John Hennessy's masterpieces.
