How much do I love Ari Gold? A lot! He's an terrific character and a healer in the shadow world. His journey through this story is nothing short of stellar.
I love how his story unfolds in the pages of this novel and I was rooting for him every step of the way.
I’ve been wanting to read Ari’s story from the very beginning. I loved seeing Felan having to work to show Ari that he truly had changed, but I do wish that at least a part of this story had been set in the past so that we could see, first hand, how different Felan was back then - how much of a user and a liar.
If we had, I think that it would have made Ari a much more empathetic character. As it stands, we get a glimpse of the truth towards the end, but the Felan Cage that we’ve known throughout this series is a quiet, hard-working, honest and good alpha who doesn’t really seem to deserve the vitriol and the absolute distrust that Ari shows.
Regardless, I loved that Ari needed to rely on Felan, despite how he felt about the man. I also loved that this book had a mystical weapon and, ultimately, the last person that I ever expected to be the villain.
A love of action in their story. It was also more interesting because of the magical history Cage and Ari have to sift through. Everyone is after Ari whose only a healer but he learns there are more people out that cares for him and would do whatever they could to help him. Air has been angry and bitter for so long that he couldn't see that he is appreciated. He heals everyone through this series, it's nice that they have his back. Cage is the Alpha wolf who is mated to Ari but a tragedy tore them apart. Now Kian will do what he has to to protect them both.
Nice to see Ari get a happy ending. He's been in.. every book? I think? Not sure the make-up portion of the arc made a whole lot of sense to me. If Felan had been pestering him for years, it's hard to see what changed. Or why he never suspected Kian was a ghost or.. you know, I'm just going to nod and smile because it was a decent enough piece of the series.
In this the read really wants to champion both Cage and Ari. You want to understand and yell at them through the pages. The story line wonderful deep nothing stereotypical about any of these books in series. Really feelings and love.
I was waiting to read this book for a while and I'm glad I finally got the chance. Cage was awesome. My heart went out to him and all he went through. He turned his life around and I thought Ari was a little over the top in his way of seeing things. I also felt the same as Cage, that Ari was choosing one brother over the other.
It was great to finally read the story of Felan and Ari. After all this time we finally see what happened that broke these 2 apart and how they each are miserable in their own way with out their partner! It was great of having the ghost of Felan be there until these 2 are back together
I want to know more about this sword. It's great to finally get Cage and Air' s story. Now I want to know about the teen mute Fox that's caring for his infant sister.
