A Baton Rouge Love Story: Loving You Through The Pain
Blood didn’t make Purity, Vanity and Vix family; their trials and tribulations did. Growing up and facing hardships together, the three young cousins were all they had. Purity had the hardest life of them all. After the tragic death of her grandmother, she was forced to live with her birth mom, Tawny, who was very abusive. Purity focused on school and didn’t allow her mom’s taunting to affect her focus. She had goals of being someone special one day. It wasn’t until she crossed paths wth her older cousins, Vix and Vanity did she bloom and realize that life was too short to not live it to the fullest. Her cousins pushed her to be the best that she could be and to accept that she was beautiful, even though she was a big girl. Vix was the proud wife of Big Paul, kingpin of the dark streets of Baton Rouge, Lousiana. Although they have been through hell and back, she continuously stands by her husband's side no matter what. Paul is all she knows and despite the rumors, he feels the same way about her. Vix believes that what her husband doesn’t know wont hurt him, and with Paul stepping out so much in the past, she would have never began to communicate with her ex, Hazel, but what Vix fails to realize is that you can’t be friends with someone you used to love. Vix and Purity are a lot alike, whereas Vanity is living life in the fast lane. She does what she wants with who she wants to do it with. Vanity doesn’t have time to settle down, and she isn’t looking for love. She treats everyone who she meets the same way, not giving anyone too much of her time. But all of that changes when she enters the presence of Juice. He’s different and like a breath of fresh air, and Vanity soaks his energy up. The first time she falls in love, she stumbles. Purity is focused on getting out of the hood, but when she meets Paul’s little brother, Carstin, she has a change of heart. Vix ends up crossing the wrong track when she decides to keep Hazel in her life knowing that him and Paul are arch enemies. Vanity forgets her “me, myself, and I” mentality once Juice warms her cold heart. In “A Baton Rouge Love Story”, these three young women all try their hand at being the right person for the wrong guy and being the wrong person for the right guy? They have experienced so much heartache and pain from the ones closest to them, so much to the point where they’re fed up and asking themselves do you really have to love someone through the pain?

That ending got me with my mouth opened!! This book was good from beginning til end!!! That tawny is too much for me. I can't wait for next book.

Needs work like crazy but overall you can get where the author is trying to go with the story. Hated the name Purity, I think the relationship between her and Tawny should’ve been better explained because it made Purity seem like she was slow or something. Not sure if there’s a story before this but it makes you seem like you should already know what’s going on with the characters when no introduction is done for them. The ending is enough to get me to read the next one though. Hopefully it wasn’t that easy and it was all a dream.

I was not expecting this. With the three storylines I'm not sure where to start. I will say this a good book. I hate how Paul reacted but that goes to show you what one can do another can't. I can't wait for part two

Chile this book is savage asf and im just so over waiting. I want to say so much more but I will save it for the end of the series because I gotta get to the next book. If you reading this review cop up its worth it.

I really enjoyed this story. To be honest of all the authors books I've enjoyed this one the most. The character's were easy to connect with. Especially Vix and Vanity, young, wild (and I do mean wild) and free. Purity is just as her name is but then someone steps into her life opening her up, but not without their past coming into play. Vix and Paul seem like the perfext couple, but this couples has skeletons on top of skeletons. Vanity the firecracker has a secret that she's not ready to tell but that's soon burst when big brothet Tarvis walks in on her. By the way Tarvis is annoying her whines too much. Wayment tho, this ending I have a tud about, I need them saved, I dont know how but it can't go down like that.

Yassssssss this book have all my favorite stuff ..Great characters I'll whole lot of drama thots love and there's nothing in the world like a thug who all rolled up into one,,,, this author never fails me she give it to me right raw uncut I'm loving the new love that exploring someone new oh that is so sweet that virgin love like no other These couples are going though it infidelities and new babies from old girlfriend ...Yassssssss the drama got me on the edge of my seat ...Purity is the real Mvp naive with a great heart...vix done got herself caught up her husband on war path can't wait for part two OUT FREAKING STANDING

Johnazia came thru and slayed again.. I love how this story is about Vix, Vanity and Purity, 3 cousins jus tryin to find love.. Purity is also tryin to get out, live and experience things for the first time.. But ummmmm some of these characters can go like Tawnys ol hateful @$$.. Purity needs not pay 1 bill & jus let her go on.. Uh & that damn Paul I'm gunnin 4 him maself cuz that damn ending has me in ma feelins.. Hazel, Carstin & Juice lawd those 3 men there.. '' I'm in ma feelns a bit about Tarvis.. He actwd acted like a lil kid runnin and tellin on Vanity.. Maybe he can redeem himself in pt 2, which I need like next week.. Great Job

I must say Johnazia really did her thing with this book!!! It's a shame how men can do their dirt and feel women supposed to stick around and be ok with it...I love Purity and Carstin!! Even like Vanity and Juice!! Paul ass is a certified nut!!! Vix is cool too but she played with fire!! Omg I can't wait to read more!!! Good job Nae!!

I'm speechless
First off.. This book will keep you attention till the end u will not want to put it down. So don't be in the middle of cooking cause u will burn something up lol. Well written no major grammar problems. You will love and hate some of the characters. But the ENDING though OMG I'm like REALLY!!! I can't wait for part 2.

It's not often that you find a book about your hometown that is so accurate. This book was awesome. If you aren't from Baton Rouge then just from reading this book you would feel like it from the description of all the places. I enjoyed it can't wait for part 2. Please let Purity stay happy. And Vix omg please be living because her and Hazel need to be okay to raise this baby.

Damn!!!!!!
Paul was a true piece of work...how you gonna get mad when she pulled a you on you? I hope Purity have enough heart, courage and strength to deal with her boo situation. Tawny was something special as well the nasty stinking wench. I really enjoyed this book it had so many twists to it like who is Crip? Can't wait to see what happens next.

A Catchy Read but
A very catchy read but way too many grammatical errors and missing words. However, I laugh, cried and became enraged with the characters but can you please tell me why everybody is sleeping around and getting pregnant?

Good Read
Two criticisms. One being that Bella Noche is the worst club in the city of Baton Rouge and is described as a laid back club with no violence bothers me. And two I'm not sure why The Dominican Republic is referred to as the Dominican Republican not once but each time it's referenced also bothersome.

That ending though, like realllyy. Love the bond between Purity, Vanity, Vix, and Tarvis. This book is drama drama drama. Vix should have gotten a divorce before she took it there with Hazel. Two wrongs do not make a right. Can't wait to see what happens next. Johnazia did her thing.

I'm gonna pretend that wasn't the end. Omg Nae why you do that???? I loved this book and I can't wait to read part 2. Paul can dish it out but can't take it. I bet Melissa about to be bm from hell. Don't take forever on part 2 boo I'm impatiently waiting lol.

Wow really how can Paul get mad he been cheating the whole damn time. Vix better not be dead neither. I hope Carstin and Purity stay together and poor Vanity I hope she learn her lesson for the baby sake.
