Rancher Bears #2

Rancher Bear's Mail Order Mate

Rate this book
Matt Long a passé six mois d’enfer.

Come finirà?

Matt was devastated at his father’s death and destroyed by the terms of his will. His family believed that Matt was more interested in the money the ranch made and the material things of life. They were so totally wrong, but then Matt had never corrected their assumptions, never told his father just how much the ranch meant to him. Now it was too late, or so he believed. He’d removed himself to a cabin away from the main ranch and let himself and his bear go wild. In one moment of soberness he’d had a great plan to find a mail order bride to take care of that stipulation in the will – but when Alex and Elizabeth came up pregnant, he knew his claim to the ranch he loved was useless. The absolute last thing he ever expected was for his mate to arrive at the cabin and swat his bear on the nose without a second thought.

Leila was desperate and determined to escape an abusive ex. She may have bribed her way into Matt’s life but it was the best thing she’d ever done. Okay, the guy may be a grumbling bear, with an attitude… but she instinctively knew he was hers and she was in this for keeps. She knew shifters, she wasn’t afraid of him. What she was afraid of was being sent away but she’d do everything in her power to change this bear’s mind.

I liked Leila’s spunk. She took no sass from Matt or his bear – and he deserved everything she did to bring him to his senses. I do have to admit that I found it ironic that Alex treated Matt’s mate exactly as Matt treated Alex’s mate at their first meetings. It was honestly, uncomfortable to see a character I liked act the jerk.

I enjoyed the second story in the Rancher Bears series. An interesting story, it is a short one but definitely sexy moments, a bit of danger and one bear with an attitude finds his perfect mate. Looking forward to picking up the next story in the series.

I read this story through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Grumpy Bear pulls his head out of his butt

After his brother Alex inherited the Long Ranch, Matt took offer to lick his wounds and grapple with what he saw as an injustice, the lost of control over the ranch he loved. At first it was hard to admit that he was at fault for not telling his father how much he loved him and the ranch. Now it was too late. He spent months isolated at his cabin in his bear form. Until Leila confronted him.
Leila was on the run from her ex, a gater sifter. Bribing Bertha a matchmaker for mail order bribes, Leila takes the place of a woman meant to be sent to Matt as his bride. Fate has stepped in a grumpy, sulky bear and a lady on the run from an abusive ex have finally found their mates.
The story was a bit light on the storyline while, I would have liked to get to know both Matt and Leila a little more outside the bedroom. Matt’s family did show up and it was nice to know what happened with Alex and Elizabeth from the first book. I enjoyed the quick read and think reading them in order connected me more to the family saga. A quick read with an HEA.

Not a bad story but I had no idea what all of Matts problems were about and this story worked around this premise. Need to have read book 1 to know.
Liked Leila, she was strong. Loved how Leila dealt with Matt’s bear and his moods.
Can't say I would rush out to get this authors books as this needed a bit of polishing to fill it out better.
Enjoyable characters and storyline.
There are quite a few other stories in this book but I have not read them all. Cannot believe I am saying this but just too many to read. Will come back to this over time as I feel like it.
DRAGON KEEPER
Interesting story I enjoyed. Thought heroines allowance of being treated as she was and her self image loathing a bit much.
THE LION’S CLAIM
Bree was just a bit too unrealistic in her views.
HOME IS WHERE MY BEAR IS.
DNF due to the actions of a very rude, cruel and immature heroine.

Loved this book

This is the second book of the series and is as good as the first. This book is about Matt who has gone into hermit mode in a cabin away from his brothers. He is struggling after the death of his father and the ranch went to his younger brother as he was the first to produce an heir. Laila is on the run from her ex boyfriend an alligator shifter and abusive towards her and signs up to mail order bride unbeknown to her the male she is going to happens to be a bear shifter and her mate. Things don’t go smoothly at first Matt is a very grumpy bear who forgot about signing up for the mail order bride. This a lovely written story if you shifter stories then you won’t be disappointed

I loved Leila in this book. She is a very strong, opinionated and caring woman. I loved that she didn't let the growlyness of Matt turn her away. She saw threw him and knew that he just needed someone to love him back.

I liked Matt. My only complaint would have been more of a story about him. I understand this was a shorter book but the author alluded to the family thinking he only wanted to farm for the money but that wasn't true. I would have liked to hear more about that to understand his character more.

The scene in the grocery store with Alex and his wife was funny. I loved that Alex was put in his place.

Matt a bear shifter that has anger issues . Leila is on the run from an abusive gator shifter who is her exboyfriend . She runs across a woman who had a mail order bride service and she bribed her to send her to fill Matt's request to find a wife so he could have a kid and get the family ranch. Matt had gone mostly bear since his brother found his true mate first and had a child so he couldn't inherit the ranch. Along comes Leila and she knows right away they are true mates but angry Matt wants none of it. Can they find happiness? I highly recommend this book and series.

A good quick read

Paying off the mail order bride service so she could hide from her crazy ex Laila finds herself face to snout with a bear...but she ain't scared she feels the connection and knows from second one he is her mate...he is just a little slow on accepting his fate. But no worries she'll wait

Grizzly meets his match!

I really enjoyed the book. If I we up to a cabin opened the door and a giant grizzly met me at the door on its hind legs and roaring at me I would be gone. Instead she smacked the grizzly on the nose and walks in in. She was either crazy or she had a lot if guts! She stood up for herself and won her mates respect because of it.

• Bear / Human
• Grumpy / sunshine
• Fated mates
• Mail order bride

Book 2 in the series and grumpy Matt meets his match in fiesty and tenacious Leila.
While this book has the cozy vibes of book 1 along with being funny, sweet, and spicy it also has a lot more excitement - which I really enjoyed!

Aww man....

Okay I love Matt. He was misunderstood by his family and he realized because of his mate Leila, that he let thAt misconception happen. Leila was running from a past. A past that could threaten to ruin the future she never knew she'd have. Such a great read.

Enjoyable Read!

I liked this story and the lead characters. Leila was a breath of fresh air and Matt needed someone to snap him out of his pity party. More of a showdown with her ex would have been good, but this was short, fun, and steamy. Read it!

Short and sweet

Super cute quick read with a wonderful pairing of characters. I wish we got a little more information in the story. It is hard when it is so short but I think I would be even better if it was a little more flushed out.

Great quick read. Just wish the story was longer as I really liked these characters and there was enough going on that it could have had a few more elements added without feeling like filler.

This was short and sweet shifter story.

One feisty and sassy heroine + one anti-social grumpy bear = one insta love story rolled in a bit of fun and laughter!
