This author is hit and miss with me, and this one was a HUGE miss unfortunately. I struggled to finish it. The writing was clunky. The POV changes were awkward. The dialogue was cheesier than my Grandma's lasagna. The sex scenes were cringe worthy...sigh.
When he wrapped his 12 inch billiard ball size headed member in a Christmas stocking and ribbon, I knew nothing was going to save this one for me...

Kalen was the high school football player that was popular. Holly was the shy, slightly overweight girl in high school that had a crush on Kalen. Years later, they both run into each other at the bus station. Due to circumstances, Holly now needs a ride to her sisters house and Kalen is more than happy to help her out. There's a snow storm and these two get stuck overnight at a cabin.
Now I have to say, I did really like this couple. The beginning of the book was great! I'm totally invested in these two, but then they decide to act on their attraction while being stranded at the cabin and this is when the story just got really silly for me. I'm going to try and keep this PG.
You see, Kalen has a problem. He's known for having quite the big package. Poor Kalen has women flocking to him wanting to experience the ride he can give them only to have most of the woman back away before the deed is done. Apparently ladies, it can be too big. But don't worry, Holly is up to the challenge.
Now, this would have been a really cute Christmas novella if we didn't have to focus so much on Kalens big package. To me, that just made the whole story silly. It was probably what the author was aiming for so if you go in with that mindset, you'll enjoy this. I personally would have loved this story if the "big package" was a bit more believable. Ms. Carew's formula at work again, but it was nice to read it all in one book instead of 5 serials. Guy with HUGE package meets a girl and they have sex that night with no condom in sight. Little more story than usual, but the drama with his ex was not necessary, IMHO.

Holly is trying to head home for Christmas but unfortunately the present her ex-boyfriend gave her causes her to miss her bus. When Kalen who Holly had known from high school finds her stranded and offers her a ride Holly can't believe her luck.
Holly had spent many a day fantasizing about Kalen in high school with him being the football star but didn't think he knew that her wallflower self existed. Now when snow makes traveling further the pair find themselves alone in a cabin for the night.
There really wasn't anything I found that worked well in my opinion in Big Package. From the opening moments of meeting both characters I really didn't care for either one and found that I just kept questioning why these two would make a good pair at all. Holly is so timid it's somewhat of a nuisance and Kalen seemed a bit of a egomaniac player type.
But really what brought my opinion of this one down quite a bit was when getting to the sexual situations in it and there were quite a few in this story. Each moment though was in my opinion a bit over the top and some even a bit cringe worthy. Not exactly the steamy sexy moments I would hope to come across in a read like this one.
Overall, just not for me I'm afraid wasn't a fan of the couple or their activities.

All Holly wants to do is get on a bus and make it to her sister’s house for Christmas morning. But when her ex-boyfriend shows up at the bus stop and brings a huge box full of stuff for her and leaves – she is unable to take it on the bus, and is stranded at the bus stop on Christmas Eve.
Kalen sees his sister safe on the bus, and then notices a woman who may need help. He offers to drive Holly to her sister’s, and she is grateful. Kalen and Holly actually went to high school together. He was the big football star, and Holly always had a crush on him. She can’t believe he is the one who offers her help.
On the drive, they get stuck in bad weather, and end up at Holly’s family’s cabin – together.
I usually love when a hero and heroine are stranded in a cabin together but this story didn’t work very well for me. There was no emotional connection between Holly and Kalen. This book is definitely an erotic romance, and there are plays on the title:
“No wait. I want to see you. To touch you.”
He drew back and sat beside her, then nodded. “Okay, now I have to admit, I’m a bit nervous.”
“Why?” she asked, using every ounce of willpower to stop her hand from stroking over his thigh…then upward until she found his hard erection.
“Because I don’t want to scare you.”
I love the set-up of a hero with an extra-large penis. Why not? It could be super fun. But in this book, it’s more sad because no one has ever wanted the Kalen for himself, just for his penis.
He crouched down and took her hands. “Look, I meant it. I don’t want you to feel scared or intimidated. If you don’t want to deal with it, I understand. Believe me, there have been other women who just didn’t feel they could cope with it and they walked away.”
Lord.
Instead of a fun exploration of this huge ding-a-ling, it’s a little morose. And like I said earlier, I didn’t feel any chemistry or emotions between these two. The sex scenes were a little silly and the conversation between Kalen and Holly didn’t flow smoothly. For all of these reasons, I can’t recommend this one.

After reading and finishing The Problem with Forever , I felt emotionally drained and in the mood to cry. I needed a funny read and I had sitting on my Kindle "Big Package" by Opal Carew. The idea of this book had intrigued me and I had enjoyed Opal's books previously. The title has to do with not just one Big Package but two. The book starts off with Holly waiting to catch the bus home for Christmas when her ex-boyfriend Jimmy drops her off a Christmas present and yes, this part made me laugh - the wrapping part has naughty elves bonking in several positions. Just what I needed a laughing moment. Due to the size of the package, Holly has to miss her bus as they won't let her on. Enter Kalen Welles , Kalen and Holly grew up together and they went to the same high school. During high school , Holly had a major crush on Kalen who was a football jock. This is where the second "big package" comes into play as even in guy standards, Kalen has a lovely big package of his own. He offers Holly a ride home and during their journey, a snowstorm hits and the pair are stranded at Holly sister's cabin. During this time the pair's chemistry sizzles and of course what's an sizzling romance without some delicious sex and while they are at it - they open the other big package and have a play with some of the presents which leads this book to some BDSM happenings.
Big Package by Opal Carew was a quick and fast-paced read, that fills us all with those romantic notions of snowstorms and hiding out in cabins with fireplaces as well as touching those other special spots with the erotic parts of the story .

I should have quit while I was ahead with this author. Although this started well - I laughed a lot at the big package double entendre - it devolved at the end with a super insecure heroine who tended to go in a huff instead of asking the poor guy what she wants to know. The author should have kept it shorter and just focus on the big package.
Said big package - now I'm like the author, milking this for all I got - not only refers to the gift she was carrying around but also to the hero, who has a monster c*ck. We're talking big even for romance standards. The thing is so huge that once most women see it, they backed down, which gave the poor guy a bit of a complex.
Of course, the heroine takes to this dick like a porn star and even with all her insecurities, starts riding him like there's no tomorrow (some of the scenes sounded painful.) I was totally fine with the plot, until she got all needy and judgmental. And he was such a nice guy! I was like 'dude, what do you see in this woman!'
Overall, not recommended.

What do you do when you are stuck in a blizzard with a box covered in elves with outsized appendages and you happen to bump into the man you've had a crush on since high school? Well, luckily for Holly, Kalen is a gentleman and they end up sharing a lift together so they can get to their perspective Christmases. However, things go to bad to worse and they end up having to share a cozy cabin together over Christmas.
I don't have the best luck with Christmas reads, I never seem to find any I like, but I'm on a mission to find at least a couple that I can fall in love with and Big Package is my first step in that journey. It wasn't an entirely unsuccessful step, at least I didn't fall flat on my face; however, I wasn't exactly skipping down the road to success either. Suffice to say I'm feeling a bit lukewarm about this scorching hot Christmas read.
This is a short, sexy read where the characters have an instant attraction and then circumstances force them together, with explosive results. And this was a really sweet story and if you are looking for something untaxing to escape with, then this is the perfect read. Unfortunately I just found it a bit bland and forgettable.
P.S. I probably should warn you though the hero does come with a mighty large...package

This was ok but I got annoyed with how many times it was brought up how big Kalen's "package" was. I mean I get it was big but after describing it the first hundred times, I got the pictures. Honestly, I got it after the first time. The book was really short so I didn't really have time to forget how enormous his equipment was and how many of his past women just couldn't handle the gigantic size of it. I knew what I was in for on this one but I wanted a little more originality than repeating "Big Package" over and over.

This book was sort of like a second chance romance, Holly had pined for Kalen in HS and then a happenstance brings them together after a blizzard as they were trying to get to their families for Christmas. It had some pretty hot scenes.🔥The audio was great with a new to me narrator, Jameson Adams. Will be seeking more books by him.

It’s pretty clear from the cover of this story, that you’ll be in for a fun, erotic holiday treat in this latest novella from Opal Carew. It’s my first story by her and won’t be my last, as I quite enjoyed this cheeky, lighthearted and very sexy second chance romance!
An unwelcome gift from a recent ex-boyfriend has left Holly stranded at the bus depot in River Rapids, a small town just south of the Canadian border. She’s supposed to be heading to Ottawa to spend Christmas with her sister, so when former high school acquaintance Kelan happens to be there seeing a family member off and heading to Ottawa himself, he’s happy to offer her a ride. Their plans get derailed by a big snowstorm however, forcing them to take shelter at a cabin Holly’s sister owns that is midway between Ottawa and River Rapids, a convenient midway point for them to meet for holidays. Resigned to spending the night with the man who once was her high school crush, Holly is shyly pleased to discover that the feelings at that time were mutual and that Kelan had been interested in her too. With the help of the contents of the Christmas package gag gift from her ex, Holly and Kelan make the most of their time together. But will their holiday tryst lead to something more once they are back in the real world?
If you’re thinking that the title of the story and the cover are leading towards a ‘package’ of large proportions, you are right! Kelan’s member is well, big, to be blunt, which has resulted in more trouble than you’d expect – great for a porn star maybe, but not for an average guy. Women tend to hear about his generous size, but then back off when they see the real thing, resulting in a depressing lack of real relationships. Being big isn’t all its cracked up to be. While Kelan’s high school football career (and his reputation for being well endowed) made him one of the more popular kids in school, Holly faced the opposite as an overweight and shy young woman. Kelan had seen past her physical attributes at the time, but Holly was too self conscious to respond to his overtures of friendship then, and nothing ever came of it. Now though, stuck together on their way to Ottawa, the truth comes out and with it the chance to explore the attraction. The ‘gifts’ from Holly’s ex, designed to be more embarrassing than anything else at a customs search, come in handy for this couple as they explore their sexual fantasies together. (The big winner here is a toss up between the handcuffs and the strap-on dildo, just to give you an indication of the kinds of scenes we’re talking about). Once they finally reach Ottawa though, they both admit to wanting to see more of each other. The sticking point is the reality of their living situation – with Kelan living in Canada and Holly in the U.S., a 2 hour drive to see each other might be a deal breaker. Thankfully these two find a compromise that enable them to make their insta-love relationship doable. There are some brief bits of relationship drama that are thankfully short lived since the whole story takes place over only a few days. It’s heavy on the sex, a bit eye-rolling at times with the descriptions of Kelan’s attributes but also contains some sweet scenes and some humorous bits too. All told, an erotic Christmas treat! 4 stars.

Kalen is quite the endowed man, "she stared down at his immense member. “It is really big. But I want to be with you.” I enjoyed this book, it was a quick read with a whole lot of naughty mixed with Christmas.

Holly is headed to visit her sister for Christmas. She's given a big package from her ex-boyfriend at the bus station which causes her to miss her bus. Kalen is dropping his sister at the station when notices her sitting there with the big package. He recognizes her as someone he went to school with. At that time, she was overweight and he was the popular football star. He was attracted to her then, but now-she's a knockout!
When he hears her problem, Kalen is going that way, and offers to give Holly a ride. As they head out, a snow-storm picks up and they are forced to overnight in a cozy cabin.
Holly can't believe her luck. She'd always been crushing on Kalen and now he's here with her! They realize there is a mutual attraction and decide to indulge. Things get a bit dicey as Holly learns Kalen has a big problem. He's been blessed and cursed, with a rather big package. Many woman have wanted to experience that ride, but can't follow through. Holly is up for the challenge!
Although this is a short and supposed to be tongue-in-cheek, it's a bit dis-jointed. Holly is a forceful woman one minute and then a timid girl the next. There was no talk of protection, and some of the words used just didn't work well for me-ex. his big billiard ball-sized head.....
Some very funny scenes unfold that had to do with the box though! Plus, there were a lot of sex scenes for such a short story, and I thought they were rather inventive. I mean, what else are you going to do stranded in a snow-storm??
I like Opal Carew and usually love her work. I enjoyed the characters and the book's premise, the delivery just wasn't what I expected.

Opal Carew is fun. And, there is a certain expectation when you read one of her books. Yes, they are a formula...but it is a fun formula. Guy with a big package meets a girl with a big package. Stuff happens, sex happens. It is fun.
H0lly and Kalen were interesting together. I liked that they had a history, I liked that there was a prior attraction between them. It made the story work. And, the snowbound at the holiday made sense...it didn't seem overly contrived.
The wrapping paper, the contents of the box...it was all fun. It was lighthearted. It was enjoyable. I am not one for holiday books, but in this case, I made an exception...because I knew I was going to enjoy it. And I did.
The book is short, there isn't really a lot to say about it. It was well written, the pacing was decent, the story was fun and I believed the characters.
I recommend this book.

Girl is left stranded when traveling to sisters at Christmas, she has a large package to tote with her and guy comes to the rescue, he has his own "large package" which she discovers later when they both end up having to stay in a snowed in cabin, yes he's built like a horse and they're at it like bunnies.
There's a little more to the story than just sex but not much, but who cares, it's a fun read and will warm you up on a cold afternoon.

This was a cute story. This couple knew each other in high school and meet up again years later, at Christmas time, as fate brought them together. There were some funny moments, some good moments, and some hot sex scenes in this book. The couple is cute together.

Big Package by Opal Carew is not going to be for everyone. However, if you love hot, steamy, and a little fun Opal is your gal. Now in this holiday read you are going to find some naughty elves, and other big packages. Basically, Kallen and Holly knew each other from high school. Kallen kind like Holly, but she was kind of shy. He also had a big problem when it came to girls, but now they are all grown up Holly is willing to take on this big guy.
Fairly quick read, with some serious hot times stuck in cabin during a snow storm. I did like Big Package, because there is a little story that goes along with the hot times. We watch these two get it on in more ways than one. They both have insecurities that cause a little ripple in the budding relationship. So, if you are in the need of a hot Christmas read, Big Package is your read.

What can I even say about this one? Opal Carew definitely has a formula, and she's obsessed with guys whose dicks are so big, they barely fit in their pants. This guy has a 12" cock. And he's worried that it won't fit.

Once you get past that, this story is actually pretty good. Kalen was the popular high school football jock. Holly had a crush on him. Now, years later, they're stranded together in a cabin and sexy times happen.
This was a fast-paced read and I wanted the couple to be together. I just wish the sex had been FTB. Which, I can't believe I'm even saying that. But it was squickworthy, honestly. I don't know whether you should read this or not. If you don't mind icky sexy times and a guy who has a dick the size of a small baseball bat, you'll really enjoy this second-chance romance Holiday read :)

I ran across this book while trying to find a little Christmas Spirit.
The book is seriously unrealistic. These people are telling each other they are in love after one measly weekend together. The writer tries extremely hard to make this man, the absolute perfect guy for any girl, and they just aren't out there. At one point in the book the girl actually looks at him and says...."You are such a good provider" *sigh*. All because his neighbors gave him some food. It was one thing after another. Call me cynical but this dude is too good to be true. The story-line was Meh....

Yes, it's cheesy, but given the title and cover...
It was an amusing read for Christmas, but certainly not an unforgettable classic. I especially liked the elf wrapping paper and would so buy it if I saw it. It starts out as a cute romance then takes a turn into porn (ridiculously large penis and anal penetration).

The constant hot/cold of the heroine is really annoying. And rather than talk to him, she just keeps bailing. Oh - and no condoms. Not even lip service to safe sex, even at the beginning. They don’t talk at all about birth control or STI’s.
