His name is Levi Dolson and he’s too gorgeous for his own good. And now he’s gone ahead and charmed her new dachshund. . .

It’s no secret that Zoe doesn’t believe in fairy tales, but that doesn’t stop her from wanting to make sweet music with Levi. But just how far is Zoe’s hidden enemy willing to go? The only thing Levi knows for sure is that he will do everything in his power to protect the woman who brings music to his soul. Maybe that will prove to Zoe, once and for all, that he is a man worthy of her heart. . .

Zoe is a wedding planner, who has given up on love after her fiance left her at the altar six years ago. The story kicks off at a wedding where all that can go wrong actually is going wrong and there's nothing Zoe can do to prevent all the chaos in the end. Zoe knows it was a really bad day for her and her business, but wedding expo is coming soon, which should make it up. The wedding expo doesn't go as planned, someone really doesn't want well for Zoe. During all the bad things that is happening to Zoe, there's also something or rather someone to make it more bearable-Levi, a man who she met at the disastrous wedding. Zoe is not very warm toward Levi, but he is determined and doesn't give up on her that easily.

It's the third book in the series and after reading this book I wished I had read the first book before reading this one, but I can always go back and just do that. I liked the second book a bit more, but this installment had a great storyline, characters and mystery as well. I didn't like how Zoe treated Levi at the beginning, especially as Levi always tried to support and help her. Just as in the previous book the main male character was a real book boyfriend candidate.  It was a great addition to the series and I'd be happy if the series continued.

Holy Mackerel - I did not see that ending coming!

This is the 3rd book in the rescue dog romance series and while you don't have to read the first two books, it does give you a little more information on the characters and the history they have with each other.

This book focuses on Zoe Plum - wedding planner extraordinaire and best friend to Piper and Addison. Zoe has a lot she has to deal with in this book -finding out some information about her mom's situation, adopting a cute dachshund, and finding out the truth about herself and what she wants out of life. It doesn't hurt that she meets Levi and he seems more in her than she sees in herself, which is a good and a bad thing because it is forcing her to face the truth she has been avoiding for 6 years.

The book also has a mystery - there is a slayer on the loose in San Francisco and Zoe's business seems to have been targeted to put her out of business. Who is doing all of this? Is it who she thinks - her nemesis Chelsea? You'll have to read the book to find out but I don't think you'll discover the answer before it is revealed!

I really loved reading this book! The main character - Zoe - is such a strong woman. I think the problems she’s dealing with are realistic. I also thought Levi was a loveable character and even though that sounds like a cliché: he was different than other man characters I’ve read about before. Together, Zoe and Levi make a great team, which I loved.
There’s also a mystery element in the book. I thought this was so exciting to read and the ending of the book really surprised me!
Overall, this was such a lovely book to read. Once you get into the story, it’s hard to stop reading!

Zoe has a good life: selling ‘personal products’ for Pure Pleasure, Freddy her new little adopted Doxie and a wedding planning business that keeps her busy and on her toes. After her last relationship of six years ago went south, she’s given up on men and doesn’t believe in fairy tale endings- but this particular wedding just may take the cake. From a missing groomsman to every conceivable mishap that one could possibly imagine – she’s up against it from the start.

In comes Levi – a rock star who seems to charm Freddy and find Zoe more than attractive. With her decision to forego men and relationships, Zoe doesn’t even attempt to encourage his advances, but there is something. Something there. And, when Zoe starts to have mysterious catastrophes happen that affect her business, Levi is there – protecting, desiring and completely working his way past her defenses. With Zoe’s trust issues, Freddy, appearances from earlier characters in their relationships and the unveiling of the mystery person behind all of the upheaval, the story moves forward with plenty of room for laughs.

Overall, Zoe was the most intriguing yet least pulled together heroine in this series: completely torn between herself and her beliefs in what she should be in each situation. The contradictions and fast-switching between behaviors and beliefs are enough to bring whiplash. This does, however, wear a bit thin in the midpoint of the story, as challenges and responses seem to appear simply to add words and don’t really show any growth or new choices. But, throughout the story, the lightness and humor, even in the darker moments with all the sabotage, there is a determination and optimism that she puts forward. And you can’t help but love the little dog and the joy he brings, even when he’s focusing his attention on Levi. Levi’s intentions are pure when it comes to Zoe, and he’s nothing if not persistent even in the face of overwhelming discouragement. And he’s determined to discover the saboteur and keep Zoe and Freddy safe, proving himself over and over again.

An intriguing installment that brings the series full circle with returning characters in their relationships that have grown, the sense of humor and personalities shown by the dogs, and the slow growth of the relationship.

Book: A Wedding Tail

Author: Casey Griffin

Book Series: A Rescue Dog Romance

Rating: 4/5

Spice: 1/5

Diversity: Japanese American MC and Japanese character

Recommended For...: romance, murder mystery, thriller

Publication Date: October 19, 2021

Genre: Romance Murder Mystery

Age Relevance: 18+ (murder, bullying, harassment, violence, gore, attempted murder, animal abandonment, romance, sexual content, death, grief, anxiety)

Explanation of Above: The book is a murder mystery, so there is some murder mentioned, an attempted murder shown, violence shown, and gore shown. There is also death mentioned and grief shown in the book. The book also shows some bullying and harassment towards the MC and there is one scene that shows animal abandonment at a shelter. The book is also a romance and shows romance and some sexual content, but the smut is fade to black for the most part. There is also mentions and showing of anxiety. I also want to note that I did have a note for “historical terms relating to Black people” and while I’m not 100% sure what I meant (I picked this book up off and on for 2 weeks), I believe it’s referring to some sort of old décor that was used at the first wedding shown in the book. The rest of the book does not mention those terms or any terms of offense that I know about currently, but if anyone sees some and it’s brought to my attention I will update this review to reflect that correction.

Publisher: Charming Frog Publishing

Pages: 366

Synopsis: Wedding planner Zoe Plum will never risk love again. But when her latest meticulously organized event implodes, the dog-loving gal’s hopes for financial independence and the down payment on a house go up in smoke. And things only get worse when she’s forced to work with an overly laid-back wedding singer who just rolled out of bed.

Levi Dolson works hard to live up to his phony rock ’n’ roll charisma. So when he lands a gig that will put him side by side with the one woman who’s managed to resist his appeal, he vows to charm her into a sexy duet. And he certainly won’t stand by and watch her life snowball into a series of disasters, so he leaps at the chance to prove he’s better than advertised.

Dogged by inexplicable attempts on her life and a shadowy enemy, Zoe realizes Levi’s unwavering support is tempting her to end her six-year-long dry spell. But Levi’s persistence has its limits, and he’s prepared to hit the road if he can’t melt her heart.

Can the unlikely match drop their masks, survive the saboteur, and quench their own desires?

Review: Overall, I liked this book and I’m excited for the next one. I loved Zoe and I felt empathetic towards her plight. The romance was really well done and the character development was well done as well. I also really liked the wedding planner/rock band singer romance set-up and while it’s weird it worked really well. There are a lot of mentions of animals in the book as well, with most of the focus on dogs, and I loved seeing Zoe’s character development as she adopted and cared for Frankie. The world building was also well done and overall I really enjoyed this book.

However, if you’re going into this book looking for the sexual/smut content, this is not the book for you. The book focuses on the set up of the romance and the more emotional connection. The smut did not start until 76% into the book and, as my husband put it, “it’s like edging but in book form”.

Verdict: It was good!

Copy received via Netgalley for an honest review

This is the 3rd in the Rescue Dog Romance series, and focuses on wedding planner Zoe.

Well, this book really is a comedy of errors/a series of unfortunate events/series of disasters that keep on rolling one after the other.

It has humour, romance and dose of mystery thrown in there too. Nothing like a bit (or maybe a lot) of misdirection to keep the reader guessing.

Throw in wannabe rockstar Owen and his pursuit of our hapless leading lady, and you are in for a rollicking ride. He can stalk me any day he wants :D

I did feel that for a little while in the middle of the book, it did lose its way - but this could just be me. It felt like Zoe was forever dealing with the same kind of disaster, over and over. However once it got itself out of that loop things progressed well.

I adored seeing more of the characters from the first 2 books, the way their stories kept on developing through this third book.

I really have enjoyed this series, now I can't wait to see what Casey Griffin brings us next.

I liked that it wasn't an easy guess for the whodunnit part of the storyline. Yeah, I had my suspicions but that was all they were.

The stars of these stories, however, is the dachsunds. Might have made me want another dog (for a second or two anyway!)

This is the third book in the Rescue Dog Romance series and tells Zoe's story. Zoe Plum is a Japanese-American wedding planner who doesn't believe in romance. Since her own fiance left her at the alter about six years previously, she has buried her emotions and given up on men. She has a side business hosting parties and selling sex toys for Pure Pleasure and is a very good customer for their products. I just about gave up on this book because the first half had lots more to do with sex toys than rescued dachshunds.

The story begins at a wedding where everything goes wrong. From battling in-laws, to drunk relatives, to a church with broken air-conditioning in a heat wave, to a sick priest, a flower girl determined to release the doves into the church, a missing horse to assist in the new husband and wife's getaway, and a missing groomsman, everything is testing Zoe's ability to work under pressure. I believe that this whole set-up was designed to be funny but it missed the mark for me because I was seeing it through Zoe's humorless eyes.

The wedding fiasco does lead to the introduction of the hero. Levi Dolson is the missing groomsman. He is a musician and laid back person who falls for Zoe. Zoe doesn't do anything to encourage him which makes me wonder why he persists.

The wedding fiasco only begins Zoe's troubles. The disgruntled bride is trashing her reputation at a wedding expo, her booth has been changed from a prime location to the outskirts at that expo, her assistant jumps ship and hires on with Zoe's fiercest competitor, someone vandalizes her van and cuts its brake lines, someone bombs her office.

Through all this, she and Levi are trying to build a relationship through her cynicism and distrust and their different goals.

This ended up being a nice romance and the mystery was resolved too. Along the way Zoe does rescue a dachshund to be her companion. Freddy is an interesting character in his own rite who adds some humor to the story.

This story opens with Zoe Plum wedding planner going around at a wedding putting out fires before the wedding has even started. It is one disaster after another and it makes you think that someone is doing everything on propose. Well Zoe who plans weddings does not and is not looking for a man for she was left at the alter six years ago and she has decided that she is fine alone. Well that is until Levi Dolson arrived at the wedding as a replacement groomsman and he is actually taken by her. When he volunteers to play the organ because the person suddenly got sick. He tells Zoe he plays the piano and the organ has keys so he should be able to wing it. She is surprised when he was playing Pachelbel. Throughout the rest of the story she would continue to be surprised by Levi, and as much as she tried to push him away he would be there for her when something would go terribly wrong. Zoe had so many things happen to her that by the time her last wedding that she was doing for her friend was taking place it was amazing that she was still in one piece barley. You were going along for the ride, explosion, accident, a fight, another fire, a murder, and still wondering who could it be? Who was the person that wanted to do her harm? All the while her life that she thought she had figured out she did not. At every turn to help her was Levi accept for one week when he was gone with his band and wouldn’t you know it she wanted to talk to him but couldn’t. Did this mean that she was finally after six years breaking down her walls and letting in someone else? A man no less. Read this fun at times and fast paced story of love, murder, mystery, and of course Fred her dachshund who actually likes music and keeps this story moving along and reminds me of the one we had many years ago. Read this very good story with good characters and find out what happens. A very good book. I got this book form Netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

Of the three books in the series, this is my favorite. The action is nonstop and a roller coaster ride from beginning to end. The author has once again written a delightful story that runs the gamut of romance, humor, mystery, and misdirection...with a cast of characters who'll steal your heart...and that's not just the furry four legged ones.

With Zoe you get a quirkiness that you can't help but love...her inner monologues come spewing out of her "bottle o'crazy", often fighting for attention from all the other emotional bottles she's constantly switching between in her mind. These moments are some of funniest in the entire book. For a woman who insists that she'll never let another man into her life, after having been left at the alter, her barriers are no match for Levi and his undeterred and patient persistence.

The story moves so quickly that you'll never guess "who done it" even when it's staring you in the face. All in all, this is a story that'll keep you laughing while at the same time it touches your heart.

First book I've read by Griffin, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Love the rescue dog aspect and the multiple storylines --- definitely going to read the previous books in this series (though reading this as a standalone would still be enjoyable and easy to follow). Can't wait for the next book!

3.5 stars.

This is another cute, fun romantic comedy with a fair heap of suspense thrown in for good measure. Although, when I say fun, I also mean stressful because, my word, is there anything in Zoe’s life that doesn’t go wrong in this book? I was alternatively appalled and infuriated at the way people get away with treating her, especially at the start. Whether it’s the petty cruelties of her chief rival or the out-of-line behaviour from a bridezilla, surely there were grounds for harassment charges and someone should have been doing something to back her up!

But when I wasn’t raging against everything that went wrong, I also managed to enjoy it. Zoe is an independent, ambitious woman who is determined to prove that she can stand alone. She doesn’t lean on anyone and she definitely doesn’t need a man. She’s confident and competent and if she also carries small toy animals around in her purse for occasional comfort, no one needs to know. Sure, some of her coping methods aren’t particularly healthy (bottling up all her emotions to be dealt with later), but it works for her. Or it did, until brides, competitors, manipulative mothers and serious sabotage threaten to take her out at the knees.

And then along comes Levi, who is quite the conundrum. Actually, he’s a complete fraud, but in a mushy rather than illegal way. I quite liked how the commitment-phobic man, relationship-seeking woman trope was completely flipped in this book. Although there were times when Levi’s beta good guy persona got a tiny bit too much. His laid-back, deeply romantic soul was also at odds with the determined way he pursues Zoe in the face of absolutely no encouragement whatsoever. I was also a little disappointed at how she effectively turned her strong, single woman struggling with an unholy amount of outside issues into woman needing a relationship to really feel whole. If it had been more about Levi being someone who really fit her and that she could build a lasting partnership with, sure, but that wasn’t the feeling I was left with and that disappointed me.

A bit like the lack of dogs. Zoe does get a four-legged pal as things progress, and he is quite the quirky little character, but compared to the other books in the series this wasn’t really a Rescue Dog Romance, just a crazy romance with a dog in it occasionally.

Despite all that, I still enjoyed it and the mystery was pretty good. I didn’t really feel much of a threat level or a sense of impending doom for most of the book, but it does a great job of throwing the reader off the scent at times. It also did a good job of bringing the previous couples into the story in a way that shouldn’t alienate new readers, while still pleasing existing fans. Although, again, there were times when I felt Zoe was treated unfairly by those who should have supported and/or trusted her. However, all things considered, it definitely wraps up the series in fun, madcap style, even if it wasn’t my favourite of the bunch.

Zoe Plum is a wedding planner. She is a sexual health representative on the side. She encounters the flirtatious Levi Dolson at the most harrowing wedding of her career. She hopes the Wedding Expo will help boost her business even higher, only to find herself running into Levi again. The sexy rockstar refuses to take no for an answer. A series of accidents threatens to ruin all of Zoe’s plans for her best friend’s wedding. Can Zoe pull off a miraculous wedding for her friend Piper? Will she finally open her bruised heart to Levi?
Levi Dolson is the lead singer for a promising rock band. He agrees to be his college friend’s last minute, stand-in groomsman. Levi cannot conceal his growing interest in the cool and aloof wedding planner. In hopes of furthering their association, he signs up for the Wedding Expo. However, Zoe continues to play hard-to-get. When a series of disastrous incidents follows her, Levi tries to help her uncover the saboteur. Can Levi sway Zoe to take a chance on them? Or will he be forced to give up on her for good?
I cannot help but like and admire Zoe. She is the ever practical, responsible, and confidant one of her trio of friends. However, Zoe has been hurt in the most horrendous way possible. I like how Zoe’s past heartache and pessimism does not interfere with her business. She strives to make every customer’s dream come true on their special day, regardless of their bizarre demands. What I adore the most about Zoe is her steadfast dedication to her two best friends. There is little she would not do for Piper and Addy, even jeopardize her life and business for them.
What is there not to like about Levi! He is such a fun character! Levi’s outgoing personality really balances out Zoe’s cool and collected demeanor. I admire Levi’s determination to follow his own path and dream rather than the one set up for him. He knows better than anyone what would make him happiest. What I love the most about Levi is his determination. He never once gave up on Zoe. Levi knew that she was well worth the wait. He realized that she first needed to heal before she could open her heart again.
A WEDDING TAIL is the third book in Casey Griffin’s doxie-themed series, A RESCUE DOG ROMANCE. The author received the rights back from her previous publisher to this fun series, which gives her the chance to reintroduce it. This story got a touch up too, as with the previous two. It is shorter than its 2017 release. I do recommend reading this series in order. Each story can stand alone; however, there is a background plot that spans the three books. Also, readers can get a better understanding of Piper, Addison, and Zoe’s close bond.
A WEDDING TAIL is a remarkable tale of one woman finally letting go of the past to heal and discover love again. I am delighted that the author announced there will be a fourth book. Yay! More dachshund books to look forward to. I cannot wait to see who is next!

Review:

The characters are well rounded and well developed. Zoe was a hardworking woman who has a lot of stuff on her plate. She owns a wedding planner business, she sells pleasure toys for Pure Pleasure and she has to help take care of her mom. And when things start falling apart with her business and she begins to have death threats against her, she does not know where to turn or how to get her life back on track. Levi Dolson, a missing groomsman from her disaster wedding and a singer for a rock band, is someone she can turn to for help and trust. I think Zoe could have been nicer to Levi, I got a little tired of her being mean to him. I am not even sure why he bothered with her during the first part of their relationship. I also got annoyed with the fact that Zoe kept referring to her “silicone friends” and how often she used them. After the tenth time of reading about it I wanted to scream. I liked Zoe and her core group of friends, I thought they acted like best friends should. And who wouldn’t love Freddie, her adopted wiener dog. I just wish that he, and the other dogs, would have been in the book more.

The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read. I liked the fact that this was not only a love story but there was a mystery to solve. There were suspects to consider for Zoe’s stalking and unfortunate events and I did not figure out who was responsible until it was revealed at the end.

I would recommend this well crafted book to anyone who enjoys romantic comedies. This book is a love story that has a lot of humor, good characters, suspense and wiener dogs.

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a honest review. I would like to thank NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read and review this book.

A Wedding Tail by Casey Griffin is the 3rd book in her Rescue Dog Romance series. I did enjoy the previous books in this series; however I had mixed feelings about this book. I will go into that later.

Zoe Plum, our heroine, is a wedding planner, and a friend of our previous heroines (Addison & Piper). Zoe loves planning weddings, though she has sworn off men since she was left at the altar years before. The story begins with Zoe in the midst of making sure the wedding she is doing goes well, but it will turn out to be the wedding from hell, as everything goes wrong, which includes the best man claiming he loves his best friends bride to be. Needless to say, the wedding did not go off, but it will haunt Zoe for most of the story.

Levi Dolson ,our hero, is a musician with his own band. He is scheduled to be a groomsman, but he also does side things to make extra money, like play a piano, ride a horse or sing anything. Levi considers himself a catch or a womanizer, and he does everything to get Zoe’s attention. Though she has no interest, and with everything falling apart, Levi will be there every step of the way to try to help Zoe, and win her over. Levi also gets a kick out Zoe’s side business (selling sex toys).

What follows is a slow build romance, as well as a suspenseful story about who is trying to destroy Zoe by sabotaging everything she is involved in; whether it is destroying her van, framing her for various attacks, stealing her assistant, and destruction of her business and reputation. Zoe can’t seem to get a break, as she becomes a suspect in a possible murder. Levi will be there for her, as he is very persistent and a calming influence on her; slowly she begins to have feelings for him. We will also be introduced to Zoe’s new pet, as she ends up adopting a dachshund, Freddy, who was cute.

This had a good storyline, and the last third of the book was very exciting; especially with Zoe right in the middle of trying to save her friend from a serial murderer. I also loved Zoe’s two friends, whom we had met previously. What I had mixed feelings about was the wild craziness in the first half of the book, and the emphasis on the sex toys, which was intended to be funny, but it annoyed me more than making me laugh. I also did not really like Zoe, nor Levi early on. When the murder mystery element of the storyline picked up, I got to like our couple better and the suspense was very well done. Overall, this was a good story, but some of the early humor was a bit over the top.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy, and I am leaving a voluntary review.

When I started this book, I thought I was reading a cute love story between a wedding planner, a rock singer and her dog. However, as I read further, I realized that this book was a lot more. Also, I discovered that I loved this book and never wanted it to end.

A Wedding Tail is the third book in a series. However, I have not read the first two books, although, I plan to do this as soon as possible. In spite of that, I had no problem understanding, and enjoying, this book. Nevertheless, one of the weddings that Zoe Plum is planning is that of one of her best friends, Piper Summers. Her story is in the book, Must Love Wieners. However, the author gives us enough background information that it is easy to enjoy this book.

This story starts out with Zoe planning a wedding for Juliet, who is part of a very wealthy family. Juliet is a “bridezilla” who has very specific and unusual requirements. Poor Zoe found them all no matter how difficult it was. Unfortunately, Zoe has non-stop problems from the moment she walked in the door of the venue. It didn’t help that Zoe’s new dog, who she got from Piper’s rescue center is also into everything. The whole scene is hilarious and so much fun to read.

Levi Dolson is the rock singer who falls in love with Zoe. He also contributes to the fun side of everything Zoe said and did. He wears eyeliner, black fingernail polish and earrings which Zoe swears change places every time she sees him. However, Levi is not exactly what he seems to be.

The reader slowly becomes aware of the suspense in the story. As the reader continues reading the suspense becomes more and intense. Ms. Griffin is very skilled at setting up this mystery. As I read on, I become more and more confused about “whodunit” and why.

The author does a fantastic job of blending the comedy in with the suspense. Also, the characters in this story, including Zoe’s dog, are so complicated, that I was not sure if anyone is actually who we thought they were.

What a wonderful book! I highly recommend it!

"a wedding planner, a rocker and a weiner." This line from a news broadcast at the end of the book sums up the main points of " A Wedding Tail." The wedding planner is Zoe Plum and she is at the center of a growing mystery of who is trying to sabotage her business and maybe kill her. Levi Dolson is the rocker who Zoe first meets in the midst of dealing with the wedding from hell--he is a fill in groomsman and when the organist doesn't appear the fill-in musician. But Levi has plans to more than fill-in as Zoe's love interest. Overcoming a host of emotional baggage that includes being an abandoned bride, having her mother trying to arrange a marriage for her and her problems with trust, Zoe is not receptive to Levi who wants more than a physical relationship. Freddie is the weiner dog who Zoe meets while volunteering at the Dachshund Rescue Center and who becomes a true hero.

I received this copy through a goodreads contest but I am not allowing that to influence my opinion. There are great scenes and I like the romance/mystery mix, though it is pretty clear who the antagonist is. The character of Zoe is not always the most endearing --at points you wonder why Levi is so committed to being in a relationship with her--but even at the beginning you see her strength, her commitment to her mother and the deep friendship she has with her friends, Piper and Addison. It does take Zoe a while to leave her past behind and look to a future with Levi and Freddie but you will enjoy the journey, highlighted by Levi's lyrics and Zoe's in the head dialogues with Freddie (I personally think Zoe misinterprets Freddie a few times but maybe I am not as fluent in dachshund.). I also appreciate getting the bit of Levi's past and showing his insecurities or he would have been too good to be true. Although not everything goes to plan for Zoe, it couldn't turn out better.

Wedding planner and sex toys representative Zoe Plum is about to face her biggest professional challenge, but nothing goes according to plan and only bring crisis after crisis. On the personal side, she think everything is under control because she decided, after being left at the altar a few years back, that she doesn't need a man and she's better off alone. The moment Levi Dolson come into her life, during the wedding who end in disaster, he seems determined to prove she's wrong, but he's got to be patient to convince her to take an other chance at love.

"Don't hold you breath. I won't be calling you any time soon."
"I'm a patient man."
"Well, you'll be waiting a long time, my friend."
"I know when something's worth waiting for."

Levi is a flirty and laid-back guy. He sing in a band but he's not the rock star cliché. He clarify at the outset that he wants a serious relationship when she only wants a one-night stand...or two...or three. He seems to understand Zoe is afraid to open her heart again and he persevere when other men would have abandoned after a few times of being rejected. But Zoe have other concerns, like the fact that someone vandalized her work and is not only trying to sabotage her business but tried to kill her.

I'm sad to say I prefered book 1 and 2 to this one. I knew this series can be a little over the top at times, but this time it was just too much. Too many crisis and the resolution and the identity of the culprit and the reason why weren't that believable to me. And the truth is, it took me half the book before I was drawn to the story.

But I would recommend this series for the cute dogs, the author's great writing style and the humor. You wouldn't guess what weapons Zoe and Levi used to fend off the enemy. ;p

"What does a wedding, a wiener dog, and a rock star have in common?" Read this book to find the answer :p

A Wedding Tail brings us an unique story that at times engaged me and at others, annoyed me. Not in a horrible way, simply that “girl, get over yourself” kind of way that we’ve all run into in some stories. Zoe has issues in her past, events that turned her into the woman she is today. A woman who needs no man, thank you very much. And that fact was made loud and clear, several times. There were points where I wondered why in the world Levi is sticking around to take her snarky, rude complete attitude. So I guess you could say I was of two minds about Zoe. There were times that I liked her and was totally on her side – then there were the moments when my head went “you did not just do/say/think that”. I’m glad she got her own happy ever after but the road to that sweet moment was a rough, bumpy off-road adventure to travel for both Zoe and Levi.

The mystery as to who and why someone was messing with Zoe’s business and life is full of twists and turns. I’m sure there are mystery buffs who got it right away, but I didn’t know who it was til the reveal. And that’s okay, I like my mystery parts to be… well, mysterious.

All told, I loved Levi, liked Zoe, adored a sweet little dachshund that stole the whole thing and overall enjoyed A Wedding Tail. If you like snarky heroines then Zoe is your girl. I wish I could have liked her more, but sometimes I’m more on the hero’s side than anyone else.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

2.5 Stars. This is the third book in the Rescue Dog Romance series and canters on Zoe who is an event planner. She wants every wedding to be perfect partly due to her own horrible experience when the groom was a no-show. The book starts at a wedding that she is the planner for that EVERYTHING goes wrong at. Unfortunately for me too many things went wrong and although I think it was supposed to be funny since we were seeing it all through the eyes of Zoe who didn't find it funny neither did I. However, the wedding is where we are introduced to Levi who is a fill-in groomsman.

The wedding disaster is just the beginning of the troubles for Zoe as it turns out someone is out to sabotage her. This leads from one problem/disaster after another. Meanwhile Levi who is a very laid back guy is pursuing Zoe although she gives him no encouragement. Zoe was a bit too cynical and distrustful for me and since she gave Levi so little encouragement I struggled a bit with the romance. I also struggled a bit with the turn around Zoe did at the end. I wish it would have been more obvious that the turn around was because she met the man that was a great fit for her not that she decided she needed a relationship (which was how I felt at the end).

For those expecting a lot of dog interaction there wasn't as much as the previous book and in fact I would say Zoe's sex toy business got more page time than her dog. However, this book had some humorous moments and a nice mystery. Zoe just didn't work for me personally but I'm sure a lot of others will enjoy this quirky romance.

A copy of this book was provided to me by NetGalley and the publisher with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

A Wedding Tail was a super fun, fast paced novel with romance and a suspenseful mystery. I loved the first two books in the Rescue Dog Romance series, but this one may be my favorite.

Before I go on, I want to mention that I worked in the wedding industry for years and could totally relate to the wedding scenes, including the unhinged bride, underhanded competitors, and the myriad of disasters. It was like all my funniest and worst wedding nightmares rolled into one.

The main character, Zoe, was a delightful blend of competence and ambition combined with a ton of quirks and a wide streak of crazy. This mixture made her feel real to me, like a friend I wanted to shout at and hug at the same time. I especially loved that she had a sex toy business on the side and was an expert on the subject, but had chosen to not have an intimate relationship with anyone.

Laidback Levi was the perfect stubborn guy to pair Zoe with romantically—and to help her untangle the mystery of who was laying traps and sabotaging her business, not to mention killing people. Levi and Zoe’s banter was fun, the tension and frustration between them was palpable, and the sizzle was unmissable.

A Wedding Tail isn’t as dog centric at the first two books in the series, but that was fine by me. It gave this novel a different feel rather than imitating the others. Plus, Freddy the dachshund made up for lost pages by being a total hero in his own right.

If you’re looking for a fun, fast paced and tense mystery with humor and romance at its heart, don’t miss A Wedding Tail, in fact read the whole series starting with Must Love Wieners and enjoy all the characters’ journeys from their beginning.

I've really enjoyed all the books in this series, they're light-hearted and fun yet interesting as there's always a bit of a mystery running through them.

This one started off really well and we were thrown right into the story in the middle of a wedding with multiple disasters going on and Zoe, the main character and event planner, handling them all with her usual cool, until there was one disaster too many which was out of her hands. The bride then ambushed Zoe at a wedding expo she was at, telling everyone how useless she was and not to use her, even though it wasn't her fault. Then various disasters starting happening leading her to believe she was definitely being targeted by someone trying to put her out of business, and endangering her life on more than one occasion.

Zoe also had a sideline job selling sex toys and she did go on and on about her 'silicone friends' quite a lot which did get a bit much after a while. The dogs were much more in the background in this story, unlike the previous books, and I missed hearing more about them. It did pick up again nearer the end and the person responsible for Zoe's disasters was finally revealed, which I must admit I didn't see coming.

So a pleasant enough read, but not my favourite of the series so far, although it wouldn't put me off reading more in the 'Rescue Dog Romance' series because I did really enjoy the first two books.

Thanks to BookSirens and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Zoe Plum is a wedding planner wanting everything to go perfectly. After her own wedding ending in a disaster, Zoe is meticulous in all her details. But how can she save the weddings and her business when someone out there is trying to sabotage everything and even trying to kill her.

Levi Dolson is a musician in a rock band. He has a personality to uphold but he's actually a very reliable person. He doesn't let Zoe deal with her issues alone, and even lightens the mood for her. If that's not balance, I don't know what is.

I loved seeing the previous couples, Piper is getting married and Zoe is planning her wedding. Whenever i feel things can't get worse, Holly enters. I don't think I took a complete breath before the 100 page mark. My heart was in overdrive. So much happened that I had to finish this in one sitting. The mystery elements in Casey Griffin's books are so good! I had too many emotions; I could feel Zoe's frustration. And that's why I loved Levi for her.

The dachshund centre is a feature again I love reading about. I am partial to it because I have 3 dachshunds. It broke my heart with how Freddy was given, but there was an instant connection.

I loved Levi's persistence, he showed Zoe his true character. I loved how Zoe grew throughout the book. And yes, the true injustice was what happened to that dress! That ending was unexpected.

I have not read all the books in this series, but I think, after reading this one, this is my least favorite. In this story, Zoe Plum, a wedding planner, does not particularly like weddings until she meets Levi Dolson, singer in a local band. Zoe tries hard to do a good job on all her weddings, but sometimes things do not go as smoothly as they should. Still, she tries hard. As a modern girl, Zoe feels she has everything she needs, without a man by her side or a ring on her finger. She has picked out a house to buy. She has he second job selling toys (yes, that kind). As can be expected, her mother wants to arrange a marriage for her, one Zoe does not want under any circumstance. Then Levi, with his perseverance and patience, enters the picture, and things change, as he keeps showing up everywhere.

This book is an okay, quick read, good for a summer vacation or beach trip. The story is funny and quirky Zoe, with all her problems, comes across as an okay, trying-hard kind of girl. I did not particularly take to Levi from the start. I just did not like how his personality was portrayed. Still, together, Levi and Zoe seems to work well through the story. As I said, this will not be my favorite in the story. I did enjoy the inclusion of Zoe’s dog—I love dogs, but I wish there had been more of that. I received this to read and review from NetGalley

The book opens with Zoe trying to hold together a disaster of a wedding - the bride can't fit in her dress, there isn't any air conditioning, birds are escaping, the organist is sick and she needs to find a replacement horse. All this sets up a hilarious start to a fun, quirky read. Zoe is a wedding planner and a bit of a perfectionist. However, things are not going perfectly. Someone trying to sabotage her wedding business, her mother continues to insist that Zoe needs a man and then sexy musician Levi keeps showing up when she least expects it. As the saboteur continues to cause problems for Zoe, she may need Levi after all.

Overall, the book was fun and exciting, but the first 70 pages in and a wedding has gone wrong, someone sabotaged her van and her mom had a mini stroke. While the characters and writing was playful, all of the action happening at once had me a bit anxious. However, Zoe and her friends are enjoyable to read about. This would be great for anyone who already loves the series and the characters from the past books since they are in this one too. I don't know if I would choose this to be the book I'd use to introduce someone to the author, but it adds to the series.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me a copy of this book for an honest review.

I’ve really been enjoying Casey Griffin’s rescue dog series, and looked forward to Zoe’s story. This book had the added bonus of getting an update on the prior characters, while giving us Zoe’s HEA.

However, this was my least favorite of the rescue dog books. All of the books have multiple story lines and lots of action, mysteries and unbelievable events bordering on craziness, but this book was exhausting. While planning her best friend’s wedding, trying to build her wedding planning business, and dealing with her attraction to Levi, Zoe also has financial issues, resolves several different issues with her Mom, finds her own rescue dog, has a problem employee, battles a competitor, and has to face her ex-fiance. Meanwhile, the town has a mass-murderer and it appears Zoe’s life is being threatened. Whew. Using a horticulture example (for no good reason), this plot tree would benefit by being pruned to allow the strongest branches to develop and grow better. Overall though, “A Wedding Tail” does succeed in being a fun story that is never boring. I’m looking forward to Casey Griffin’s next book since her stories are uniquely entertaining.

This was the third book I read that is written by Casey Griffin, also the third book of the “a rescue dog romance” series.

I am a dog lover myself of which the reason I grabbed the first book of this series in the first place when I noticed it.

I can’t say I am a fan of Casey, well at this stage, as I have only read three books by her. However, I would admit I quite like her writing style and storyline. Most of all, I love the book boyfriends that created by her. They were all too perfect and so sweet. They were real gentlemen yet alpha as well.

Back to this book, A Wedding Tail, I felt like I was in an emotional journey. Some times, I sympathized Zoe. Some times, I felt angry with her. Some times, I cried fir her.

It did let me think about myself, I asked myself every time when I was not quite agree with Zoe’s decisions or behaviour, I would ask myself, if I put myself in her shoes, what would I do? Frankly, I had no answer.

Anyhow, if you’re a dog lover plus a romance fan who likes ton of candies, and a perfect book boyfriend and a bit exciting but not terrifying mystery, this book is for you.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Serenade me…..irresistible Of all the books in this series this one had me on the edge of my seat, unable to pull away, WOW! I was blown away between the drama, mystery, compadre, sweet moments, slow burn romance, suspense and shocking moments. Rock n Roller/ boy next door Levi easy going nature, serenading ways and sweetness has Zoe questioning her single status. Wedding planner Zoe Plum has the worst luck with all the drama surrounding her, between her mom demands, her business being attacked, being a suspect and a target; and let's not forget the undeniable attraction to one irresistible musician, Levi Dolson. My favorite parts of Zoe and Levi story is the undeniable, irresistible attraction, and chemistry between them. Their story totally captivated me in a way that II was not able to put the book down until I finished it, yes, I read it in one day only taking brief breaks. Freddy captivated my heart with his energetic spunky nature reminding me of my own Sundae, yes, I am a Doxie lover myself and was a breeder. I love reading about Pipe/Aiden, Addison/Felix and the Doxies. I love the Rescue Dog Romance series and can't wait to read what comes next. I would give this book more than a five star if I could.

I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy from the publisher of the third in the series that focuses on a dachshund rescue center or more on the folks who work and volunteer there. The heroine in this novel is Zoe, a strong, independent woman, who works as a wedding planner and also sells sex toys on the party plan as a side gig. From page one nothing goes right for Zoe. Everyone, it seems, is out to get her. The wedding she’s overseeing goes off the rails, then when exhibiting at a wedding show, nothing goes right. Her van is broken into and when she tries to drive it home, she doesn’t have brakes. Here is where I had a little problem with the plot. Since Zoe is such a strong character, I would have thought she would have done some investigating on her own to find out for sure who the culprit of all her troubles was. She did not.

She was very concerned about not letting a man into her life, though. I’m sure you know how that ends.

This series is starting to make an impression on me. I’m liking all the main characters and learning more about them and especially about their dogs. I highly recommend Casey Griffin’s books and hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
