This book totally put me in my feelings

I gave this book a five star rating because it was good. Plain & simple. The amount of emotions that were evoked in this book just left me all over the place. I was angry, sad, happy and shocked. Even had to stop reading because I was on the verge of tears. I do believe you can love multiple people simultaneously for multiple reasons and Yaya proves that. Even though it seems cloudy at times. I used to love Indie but now I just have a love/hate relationship with him 😂. But Ethic....my lord! My lord! 🙌🙌🙌 I love that man! He is L-I-F-E!!!. If I go any further I'll tell the story & that defeats the purpose because y'all need to buy it. I would recommend this book to anybody that loves Ashley Antoinette books (solo or in collaboration w/ her husband JaQuavis) and just anybody that's looking for a good love story. Although it is an unconventional love story it's a love story none the less. I really just want to cry to be honest with y'all lol

Wow 😒

I only gave this 4 stars because I'm over the back and forth with Indie and Yaya. This should have ended at book 4. I love Indie and Yaya they're my favorite urban couple but enough is enough. Ethic should have had his own book dealing with his love. This book just seemed like it was drama thrown together for no reason. But I'm glad Parker is finally out the picture and hopefully Ethic is too! I love The Prada Plan series and I love how Ashley eventually showed the love Indie and Yaya had for one another. I hope Indie beats this case and that they finally get there happy ending with no more interruptions in the next book!

When I started this book, I was fucking done with Indie's ass. Worse than the cheating, he started lying and playing the fucking 50 with that bitch Parker. And her stupid ass really felt entitled to play wife, even though Indie had a wife, because she decided that the only reason Indie was with Yaya was because she just so happened to not be around. She refused to listen to him when he told her that his love for Yaya was not to be compared with anything he has ever experienced with anyone else.

Indie was using his son as an excuse to play both sides with the women he loved instead of being a man and choosing HIS WIFE!!!! He let that bitch Parker think she had a right. Yeah, she threatened to take his son, but he should have seen her for the snake she was just from that. She decided to interrupt his life simply because her son needed a father and was asking why he didn't have one. How then would she risk hurting her son just to get Indie back? Long story short, the stupid bitch got herself killed trying to prove loyalty to Indie, not knowing shit about the game she was trying to jump in. And she got raped in the process. I don't feel bad for her. I feel bad for King. But I wish Indie was able to see Parker for what she really was before she died.

When Indie left the cafe from the meeting between Yaya and Parker, after Parker disrespected HIS WIFE numerous times, then asked Yaya if she was done gloating about the fact that he chose her, I was done with his stupid ass. But some kind of way my mind changed. I was going through the same confliction as Yaya. And in the end, I wasn't upset that she chose to stick by her husband. I don't really like the fact that we will never really know if Indie chose Yaya by default, while she made a conscious decision to leave the man she knew was better for her who loved her better to be with Indie. I hate that Parker died really believing that she had a chance to knock Yaya off her throne when she fucking didn't.

Now, Ethic...whew. I love him so much. I love Indie too. But Ethic just pulls at my heart strings. He is a real ass nigga, but he loves so deeply and so genuinely and so purely, it just hurts so bad to see him constantly get his heart broken. I'm about to get into the Ethic series, but I need a minute. He doesn't let pride or any of those other things that can taint love by motivating a person do stupid shit cloud his judgment. He was gonna let Yaya get Indie out of her system. He wasn't gonna guilt her or pressure her or make her feel like she owed him something. He wanted her, but he wanted her to want him on her own, not because she didn’t have access to Indie. He didn't want to be her default choice. He knew she loved Indie and was going to give her the freedom to choose and didn't change his love or treat her differently or fault her if she didn't choose him. I just can't...I was ready to cry. I wanted Yaya to leave Indies ass so bad at first.

I was glad Indie decided to do the right thing and not set Ethic up to get caught by the Feds. Ethic knew what was up too. That nigga just such a G! I am going to guess we will find out whether or not Indie got convicted when we read Ethic. I'm sure with the way he feels about Yaya still and the fact that she's pregnant with what might be his baby, we at least gonna get an update on her.

My heart is racing like it is my man standing on trial! My heart hurts for ethic, but baby he is a man 100% I was mad at ya ya but I’m glad she decided to stick by her husband and not take the easy road out!! it is too early in the morning for me to be feeling like this! Just go read the book!!

Random thoughts as I listened to book 5. It’s lengthy. Sorry

Pro
• Nicole Small’s narration
• Ethic’s character crossover from Moth to a flam & his appearance in book 4. This is a standout character. And is what the character Indie should have evolved into throughout the series.
• The anticipation of the demise of Indie & YaYa’s storyline
*Z was a strong character & much like Ethic the only other likeable character
*Parker’s storyline added some flavor, as pitiful as it was
*the promise of this being the final book in this drawn out story of dysfunctional relationship and how it affects those that surround them. I will say this series a perfect reflection of that and how not to be in a relationship.
*Maybe the next book will feature the characters whose stories were actually interesting –Ethic, Z, Chase, Mia, Trina & King’s life after he was taken from Indie.

Cons
• YaYa –whiney, weak, push over the exact opposite of Z. She showed some strength with about an hour left in the book when she told Indie about himself, which of course he didn’t even acknowlede
• Indie –disrespectful, abusive, weak, lacked accountability for his actions
Yaya & Indie as a couple
•no character growth
Story lulled in places
Disconnect between how Indie & Yaya were described as opposed to how they were actual portrayed in their scenes individually and with others


Random thoughts at the 7 hour mark to the end of the book.

• Indie's character is completely ridiculous & so not what anyone would call a boss or king. He was written as anything but that type of person. Yet, he was constantly described that way. I saw no evidence of it. He discounted the fact that he slept with Parker more than once. He catered to her and just told Yaya "deal with it". It's only you, yada yada, but his actions kept saying it was Parker. His character was so disrespectful & untrustworthy. He says he’s never been the type to put his hands on a woman, but we forget book 1? And he slept with Parker more than once, but he only remembers one instance?
• I’m happy Ezra aka Ethic did not end up with Yaya.
• The love that the author(s) have for not giving any of their characters stability in the end is quite frustrating considering that “black love” or “love” in general is a positive. I would love if there was ONE couple that showcased the beauty of love period. I've read all their works and can't think of one. Granted these 2 characters would not be the couple I would choose to portray a positive relationship
• Why does Yaya not have any money left from her time hustling with Z? Where did it go?
• Storyline confusion i.e. indie kicked her (Yaya) out again. However, Yaya, Elaine & Indie re-tell it as if she left voluntarily.
• The brush off of Elaine slapping Yaya & berating her when indie put Yaya out was a mess. How can Indie beat her, cheat, disrespect & put her out, yet Yaya is portrayed as the bad guy?
• *This edition is ridiculous & with a hour left i knew another book was on the horizon. If it's with these 2 as the primary focus, I might be tapping out on this series that should have been no more than a trilogy. There was not enough storyline or movement to stretch this out to what I assume will be 6 books. Now if Yaya & Indie are killed off, I would listen to the next one.



Damn it I hate i have to know how a story ends. Book 4 was billed as the final book in the series, yet a book 5 was released & NOW a book 6….smh

I’m still #TEAMALANI after reading this series, BUT now I get it Yaya. I get it girlllllllll lol

After reading the Ethic series, I needed to know Yaya and Ethic back story of how they started and how her and Indie relationship began.

The question still remains: who’s baby is it? Lol

I really enjoyed listening to the audiobooks for this series.

I don’t think I want to start the Butterfly series until the last book is out but I’m itching to read it!

I have not read any of the prior novels in this series. Yet, I still was able to read this book with no problems. I got a good idea of the dynamics shared between YaYa, Indie, and Parker. Instantly, I picked up on the complicated relationship between Indie and Parker. They still shared love for each other. Although, Indie and YaYa were more on the downfall of their relationship, I believed that they really did share a great love for each other.

In the beginning, I thought that Parker was going to just be the "mistress"; yet she came through to find the truth about Indie. Yet, don't count YaYa out. She too was not going to go down without a fight. To be honest, it took about several chapters in before I came around to the characters and this story. While, I did say that this book could not read as a stand alone, I do feel that it would be much more appreciated if you read the books in order.

Wow

I love this series. I went through so many emotions reading this book. I really felt for Indie and YaYa, they have been through so much in this series and I just want them to be happy. She was really a ride or die and was a loyal chick even with her infidelities. I hate the way Parker came in and uprooted everything in Indie's life and he was a sucker for her. She for everything that she deserved for trying to interfere in their life. She should have just accepted being the baby mother like she was. She should have left it alone, trying to be something that she wasn't got her into trouble. I hate to say I'm glad Parker is dead. I hope that in the next book her and Indie can be the couple they need to be. I hope that Ethic finds true love that is not YaYa.

I swear I wish YaYa would have ended up with Ethic, but I guess her love for Indie and their history together trumped her being truly happy with Ethic. I just hope Ethic finds love, I'm tired of his reading about YaYa breaking his heart!

I really wanted to give this book 3 stars bc it pissed me off so bad but that just means it’s well written right? I wholeheartedly understand why YaYa couldn’t leave Ethic alone. Okay, so, yes... I did a thing (again). I dove into a series without reading the previous books. Look, it happens and I have no regrets. This just means that I need to get my hands on the other books within this series.

Anyways, this was interesting read because I didn't really feel confused even though I just met these characters. Sure, the romance drama was kind of eye-roll worthy but it eventually worked out. I honestly didn't really care who YaYa ended up with. I just wanted her and the kids to be happy.

Also, they were both toxic AF throughout this one. I can't even imagine what their relationsihp will be like in the previous four books. Let's see if I can get my hands on another book.

Speechless

The Prada Plan 5 by Ashley Coleman is a good read. She did a awesome job. She's a amazing writer and author. Her storyline always on point. It's well written and page turner.

Indie and YaYa have their ups and downs in their relationship but they're in love each other. I'm happy that Parker is out of the picture but my heart goes to King. Ethic is something else. Zya and YaYa always be my favorite characters in this book.

I'm looking forward to read Ethic Prada Plan series. I can't wait to read more from this author.

Out of all the books in the series 4&5 were the worst. I understand what she was trying to do by connecting ethic into the story so it could be a smooth transition to the ethic series but it didn’t work. It felt unnecessary, and like the last book it felt like a run on sentence. I’m disappointed that we didn’t get anything from Chase ( he was my favorite character) he deserves his own book (unless he already has one idk) tbh I was interested in his romance with Meisha and I wanted to know what Trina ended up doing after she fled.

Anyways, I kind of wished Yaya ended up with Ethic but Yaya and Indie are terrible for each other which makes them perfect for together, and ethics deserves so much more. The constant back and forth between Indie,Ethic,Yaya, and Parker made this book harder to read because it just got repetitive, it’s like everyone except ethic holds the maturity level of a 10 year old.

Lastly indie is by far my least favorite character in this book he’s so full of himself and always wants to glaze over the fact that he hesitated at the alter and he cheated on Yaya first. He constantly tried to gaslight yaya into thinking her suspicions were caused by her insecurities when she had every right to be suspicious of indie his actions made no sense. Not only he cheated, after he was done he promised Parker that she was gonna be the only one????? Be serious. He also glazed over the fact that he cheated TWICE. Things were also said that contradicted his actions. He said something about not hitting women when he nearly beat Yaya to death in the first book after she got framed by Leah. I can’t believe she took him back after everything he’s done he doesn’t deserve any type of remorse.

All in all this book was the worst in the series, there were too many unnecessary issues that could’ve just been solved with a friendly fade at the park or something idk. I want to read the Ethics books to find out if the baby is his but I need a break from the Prada plan series it made my heart rate increase one too many times.

I’m sorry but the woman in me would have chose Ethic!!! Simply because of the way Indie handled things with Parker from day one. Hesitating at the wedding to choose YaYa! That would have broken everything for me right there..Cheating the first time, then leaving YaYa for Parker, then trying to run back after you found out she fucked your brother, But to add insult to injury you marry YaYa! Then cheat again!!! And the lies continue!!!! He was just too weak for that bitch for me. All because of this son bulshit! Fuck that!!!!

I would have done what Ethic suggested! Took time to my self and built my self up. Became the woman I wanted to be without a man! That eat and pray shit, then ran straight to Ethic’s ass! I’m sorry Indie did too much for me! But I will say that he has my respect for how he stood up and took his L like a man instead of snitching cuz I was ready to throw the whole fuckin book away 😫!!!! Shocked and relieved 🚨spoiler alert🚨

I hate to say it but Parker got what she deserved. I wouldn’t feel that way if her intentions about reuniting with Indie were good. But she was more worried about winning Indie back than actually wanting Indie and their son to bond. She wanted To win Indie back so bad that she was willing to turn Zya over to the authorities without even knowing who Zya was or how much power she actually held... trying to go up against Zya resulted in her own demise. Now this love triangle between Yaya, Indie and Ethic was one of the most nerve wrecking situations I have ever seen. I’m glad she chose Indie in the end. That’s her husband and that’s how it’s supposed to be. Plus, Ethic is just to good of a man to be strung along... He was the better man in my opinion, but not for a married woman... Ashley Antoinette has done it again.

I was very disappointing that Ashley made it seem like a women can win over two strong street hustles just with her body. Yaya had nothing going on for herself and her husband was a loser. Why would you allow a weak women to stay with a weak man. That’s suicidal for a marriage. No wonder the poor stays down because writers like Ashley make them choose with their heart instead of the future inheritance for the kids. I like it better when Ashley and her partner Mr. JaQuavis Coleman writes a story together because a man’s spend on the story makes it seem more realistic.

Omg this is an emotional rollercoaster. The love that Indie and YaYa just can't be explained. I'm glad he didn't take the plea deal. What happened to Parker she brought that on herself Indie warned her but my heart goes out to King a child should never go through that but I'm glad he has Indie and YaYa. I hope Ethic find true love he deserved it. This book was everything Ashley did it again.Waiting on part 6
